Hormonal breast cancer and enhertu treatment
Hello all brave women out there,
I am a mom of three boys and 44 years old.
5 years ago I was diagnosed with hormonal breast cancer that had spread to my bones ( bone marrow).
Initially I started with chemo to repair the damages on my bones and then proceeded with hormonal treatments.
Tha last one was with orserdu along with kisqali.
Unfortunately the orserdu stopped working and I am now on enhertu chemo.
Did my first two weeks ago and my second will be next week.
Does anyone have similar experience as me?

I am new to the group. I was diagnosed 3 months ago with IDC, Stage 4, in my bones (spine, ribs, femur, hip). No surgery, chemo or radiation was recommended. I am on 2 pills a day, IBRANCE and Anastrozole. Only side effect is fatigue and I have had a few hot flashes, but nothing I cannot live with. I still wish they would get the cancer out of my breast and lymph nodes, but they say since it has metastisized, surgery would not be beneficial and the drugs have proven to be beneficial in stopping the progression. Time will tell.

@sofia82 I'm so sorry you've had progression, but enhertu seems to be a really good drug. I am not on it, but as the mods thread, you can find a wealth of advice on the enhertu thread.
@barb1951alabama Many of us here know how hard this diagnosis is, and how overwhelming it can seem. Every day I thank kisqali and letrozole for saving my life, at least for now. I am almost three years since diagnosis and going strong. Many advancements in treatment are in the works, so I feel hope.

Did my second treatment today.
It has been a journey to say the least.
I feel blessed that these options are out there no doubt about that. It just became a bit more real to me having to go from pills to chemo. I was on orserdu for much longer than expected, I am thankful for that as well. I am hoping enhertu will do the job now for a good while.
And hopefully new drugs will be out soon as well. I guess I need some time to digest this and try to get back to being positive.
@barb1951alabama I was on kisqali as well and it is such a big help. In the midst of things I tell myself that I was lucky to be diagnosed at that time I was because we at least have these choices.
If I have had this 5 years earlier I don't think I would be writing here now.
