Stage IV pals - what thing(s) do you do to treat yourself?
I’m looking to do some special thing for myself, “just because”. Things on my list include: fresh flowers inside each week, and pedicures, I’m considering looking for someone to clean my house
What does everyone do to treat and be kind to yourself? Looking for inspiration.

I like to go out in nature. And chocolate and travel!

I, too, go out in nature, for as many woods walks as possible. Also, when I sit by a creek or river I feel practically painless. There is something about negative water ions in the air that feels so curative to me. Maybe that's why hot epsom salts baths feel so helpful. I call it my "pain free time." 3 cups in hot bath water every other day and float my cares away! Addicted!!

I have to agree that experiencing nature is one of my special treats to myself. I dont get out to serious woods and hiking areas, and I live in a business district, but if I go a few blocks on either side of me, I am in residential areas that have particularly large and old trees, along with a lot of general overgrowth. They are quiet and peaceful and there is some urban wildlife like racoons, rabbits, and coyotes, that I have encountered along with a variety of birds. There's even a stream I can see and hear in one area. While it's not a forest, it does a real good job of providing the sensory stimulation that woods do. I also get nice views of the Olympic and Cascade mountains, and sometimes Puget Sound and Lake Washington, depending on which way I walk, so those are all treats too. There are some local beaches that I can drive to that also often have wooded areas with trails, and I occasionally do that too.
I think I'd second Aj's chocolate suggestion, along with a very occasional glass of red wine. I also actually enjoy sometimes just sitting out on my apartment balcony with a cup of tea for a break. Again, it is the nature that I see from there, that I especially like. I look out at a courtyard with lots of plants, and in the spring and summer there are a lot of birds that visit here too.
I might also add lunch out with a friend or two, especially by the water when possible (more nature).

Yes to all of the above! Also, love my regular acupuncture (essentially a relaxing nap with some alleviation of symptoms like hot flashes or digestive issues) and the occasional facial.
