    Kitty~

So sorry to hear of your news.  I, too, am puzzled as to how & why when you had BMX & DCIS to begin with??  It certainly opens up our eyes that we will always be vulnerable to this disease regardless.

    Prayers upon prayers!  God bless1

don:  I would try a 36 DD in Freya.  You could order the 38 D also and keep the one which fits best. Either go to Dillards or Nordstrom to try it on or order the Pollyanna which Paula found on sale at Dillards.  I have never seen it so offered so inexpensively:

    http://www.dillards.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=301&langId=-1&storeId=301&productId=501871586&Ntk=all&Nty=1&N=1000301&Ntt=freya&searchUrl=%2Fendeca%2FEndecaStartServlet%3FNtk%3Dall%26Nty%3D1%26N%3D1000301%26Ntt%3Dfreya&R=03049248&IN_MERCH=true

Drat....that link does not work...click on this one, type Freya in the search box and look at the Pollyanna bra...

kittycat:  WHAT???  When I read this, I felt a hollow pit in my stomach.  It CANNOT be!!  Your post sounded sort of upbeat but we know you are not feeling that way right now.  What is going through your head about this?  What did the doctor say was the first course of action?  You know that we are all supporting and uplifting you in thoughts and prayers.  We are here for you - to be a cohesive sounding board.  We care so much about you and we just know you are going to come through this one ALSO with flying colors!  Let us know what we can do for you!!

I am so sorry to hear this.  I dont know if you saw but i asked the city last night if you had heard..i was worried i had missed your post.  I have beenthinking about you non stop.  I can still hear my onco saying (when i asked about the possibility of BC coming back after dcis and DMX) he said it was rare and had happened once in the 25 years at his job.  So i guess it is possible for breast tissue to be left.

I am angry for you but will send you super strong prayers.

I have not been around for a while.  I had revisions surgery, got nips and a tummy tuck 3.5 weeks ago and got called into work earlier than I had anticipated.  I do feel pretty good and I am healing up nicely.  The tuck is more difficult than the revision but it is still worth it.

I mainly want to say that since this surgery I am feeling so much more attached to my foobs.  I am not sure if that makes much sense - but before the nips and the revision, I didn't feel like they were boobs - they were more like elbows.   I still need to get tats for the areolas and to color the actual nips - but I finally feel like they are something special - not just weird bumps on my chest.

I don't know if I am doing things differently or not, but I have noticed that I am no longer invisible in public.  What I mean is that I have noticed that where ever I go, people say Hi to me and smile at me - before no one seemed to notice I was even there....... feels weird but good all at the same time.  Anyway, you all may think me crazy, but I thank G-D and all of you for getting me to this place....

    Hi Firni,

Thanks so much for answering my questions.  I can't believe the same thing happened to you too.  I wanted to know if it's worth doing the pushing down on the implants if it turns out that it won't budge after all, and it seems that it didn't work with yours either. I'm going to give it a try for a month and if it doesn't work within that time frame, I'm going to give up and go the revision route.  I was thinking of sleeping on my stomach and pressing on the side that is higher, maybe that might work.  I hope it doesn't rip open my stitches!  Also, when you did the revision, why did you decided to change to the smooth implants, any particular reasons?  My PS said that he choose the textured implants because it reduces the risk of capsular on the breasts. I should have spoken up and requested smooth, but at that moment, I thought he knew what's best for me, so I let him decide.  Anybody out there have textured implants and is happy with it or is not happy with it?

Hi Kittycat,  I'm sorry to hear about the news, you will be in my prayers also.

When Kitty comes back on I'm sure she will share...but from her profile I can see she had dcis the 1st time.  So most times with that no other treatment is needed so she may have not had chemo or radiation.

Kittycat:  Once you have wrapped your head around this and a treatment plan is in place I know you will feel better.  Continue to be proactive in the way you deal with this bc.  .6 and DCIS are early and doable.  I know you are disappointed, probably very anxious. Prayers going your way...

Estepp - I'm ER/PR negative and I had a bilateral for DCIS.  I was told that I didn't need chemo or radiation. I was a bit concerned about this but after reading a ton of posts on the DCIS forum, apparently they don't go chemo or rads for pure DCIS. I do know that my surgeon did not recommend nipple sparing for me because she said the more tissue she leaves, the greater chance of recurrence.

Kitty - I'm so sorry you are having to revisit this nightmare. I'm glad that your Dr are on top of things and are dealing with this so quickly.

I had DCIS and WIDELY NEGATIVE MARGINS  on my original path report from the BMX.  I was ER/PR-, so no other treatment like Tamoxifen.  I was given a clean bill of Health and started focusing on my ovaries, being that I was BRCA1+.   I have no idea what they'll do.  We have to wait for the report to be completed for hormone receptors.  My sister was hormone +, but not me.  I have IDC and DCIS this time.  My onco says rads, but my sister is questioning it since this is grade 3, so aggressive after 8 months post BMX.  I am going to talk to my gyn onco, as well.

We're doing the Susan G Komen walk today.  :)  We have 15 people on our team!  :)

(((kittycat))) I am so sorry to hear about your recurrence but I'm glad that you got things checked out so quickly. You and your family will be in my prayers. I did the Susan G. Komen walk last year (pre bc) and it was quite a memorable experience. Sending strength and healing thoughts your way.

Alina,  The PS that put in the textured implants put them in really high on my chest and they were kind of small for my body.  I wanted them lowered and bigger.  He said no, I was perfect.  New PS got them lower and bigger and used smooth implants.  I have to say that with the textured implants there was no natural movement (jiggle) in my breasts and they were kind of hard.  The smooth ones have some natural jiggle to them and are a lot squishier.  You do have to massage the smooth ones tho.  I also didn't like the idea of my tissue growing into the surface of the implant.  There will most likely come a day when they have to be switched out and it's a more difficult surgery to get those textured implants out.  Most PS won't use textured any more.  I asked my first PS about getting a breast band to push the implant down.  He said no.  He didn't want me to use downward force, but to put the outside edge of my hand on my chest where the implant starts and push toward my back.  That should force the implant down.  If your pocket isn't low enough it won't do any good.  If you feel any sharp pain when you do this, stop.  First PS uses only textured because he feels they will reduce the possibility of capsular contracture, but there really isn't any hard evidence that it is true.  Good luck to you.  Let us know what happens.

Thanks everyone!  We got home from the walk a little while ago.  There were a ton of people there.  It didn't seem like there were as many survivors this year for the photo op.  It was nice to talk to a few of the survivors during the parade. I met a lady who is a 21 year survivor and was dx at 40 (my age).  She came all the way from Salt Lake City (to Vegas).  We had 2 people drop out at the last minute, but still had a good group!  :)

     Hi,

I had my exchange surgery Tuesday and am doing great. Does anyone know how long I need to wear the surgical bra and all the surgical tape that's under it. I'm so curious to see my new boobs after wearing the odd looking te. How long until I can have a regular bra fitting? The surgical bra is so tight I can't tell what I'm going to end up with. Any advice?

    Thanks, Susie
