how about drinking?

Still onpage 500...wonder if my post will also be on page 500!!!
Stanzie....my DD#1 is going through things and throwing out since they are moving...she found IL state tax refund from 2009...luckily check is good through this June as its date June 2010 and good for a year and they found a wedding gift check from 2009.....SIL thinks they should just throw it out so not to embarras the gift giver; I think they should tell the gift giver and see what they want to do...
The sun is shining this morning...hope it lasts so I can finish planting my flowers....I asked DH if he would remember to water them when I'm gone
Junie...are you okay this morning....that was a big kerash!!!
Goldie...sending only good thoughts for all the blood work results
Kathy....glad you had a good visit with your folks and aunt and cousins
NM....always love your pics...and DOTD are always interesting....has anyone actually tried any of them? I'm not a "drink" person, just my red wine
Kymn and Husker....how are you two doing post chemo? Kymn, its one week post correct?
DorK...I'm lost too about the name....don't you wish, they would just tell us....maybe if they put the letters in order like on the letter game (blanking on what its called), it might be helpful, but then again, I could still be clueless!!!
Think its time to get busy...or at least off the computer...maybe read the Sunday paper and jump in the shower....but will be back later....going to book flights today (didn't I say that last week)!!! Wishing everyone a good Sunday....Hugs, Karen

Well, not sure what to say about the D..... hadn't even had a thing to drink but I have been more tired than normal these last few days and very irritable. Also have gained weight so just not happy.... but I promise I say a D added at the very end last night????
Well, the M from Goldie should do it I'd say. Hmmmm speaking of guessing, Native Mariner.... hmmm thinking haven't seen another name connected yet or once again am I just missing things?
Dorothy - would love to see the picture bigger, looks like you are doing a spectacular dive?
Junie - wow that would scare the wits out of me as well, did it wake the babies as well? I'm thinking when she is along with the baby she doesn't do the drama as who would there be to need the attention from. sorry it sounded like such a peaceful time.
When mine were little - being twins and premature was truly something I cannot imagine reliving. Actually I wonder how we made it through. Both were failure to thrive babies with horrendous refulx the kind with projectile vomiting ( sorry if anyone is having breakfast). Anyway, we had two sofas faceing each other with a table in between and the other sofa would get covered. They took forever to feed - I did try breast feeding - actually 6 mos!!! I say that with ! as I could barely get the bottom of a premie bottle covered in 1/2 an hour but I kept trying. Then would feed a bottle which took about 45 min to an hour as neither would drink and then they would throw it all up and we'd start over again. It went on for almost the entire first year and we kept trying everything - got a bit better when they started on solids but not much. My DS child is still very thin and used to love veggies but now discovered fried foods at school so his diet has gone down hill and the other is an almost pure carnivore! But now all teenagers it still amazes me to see them eat! Sorry got off on a long tangent..... whoops.
Well, better get going. Woke up in the early hours thinking I head my daughter calling me but she is at her Dad's too weird.

OK, poor Stanzie, I played a trick on you. I did have an extra "D" after all the letters, it was a typo. If you notice, my post was edited after your comment hehehehe, was that a dirty trick or what? think your first name must begin with the M I bought since they all call you Mitch. I will place it and try some more.
Sorry but I have to get my lazy arse to work for a few hours, can't put it off any longer. Wil try to catch up with you lovely ladies later on. Have a stellar day. Cheers! And tudddup tuddup tuddud titup!

I'm still here too, so waiting the 6 months...so glad I could get a word in on page 500! I made across the cascades and back to my hideaway! The dirt is nice, I will take some photos today and hope to post. Well I gotta unload my car and put all this junk away. I was able to give four boxes of STUFF and one bag of clothes to the senior center over there, but my attic is still over flowing, so more STUFF to get sorted through. I'm so glad you are all still here and that we can now have a NOT THE END OF THE WORLD COCTAIL! yAy! And oh boy, a HAPPILY EVER AFTER COCKTAIL...this all sounds great! I'll be baaakk for Pau Hana and to get all my tud's caught up! Love & Hugs, ~Beans

Super Duper Sunday!!! Kids all headed home; hoping to beat the bad storms predicted for later today. As hectic and dramatic as it is when they are here, the house gets sooooo quiet when they're gone!
Quick question---do any of you have a Kindle or similar? What kind; do you like it???? Oldest step-dau had one and showed me how it works and thinks I would love one since I love to read. She had me try it out on the deck in the sun; late evening with lamps on; and using the built-in light in the dark I had no trouble seeing the pages in any situation. Soooo...we're thinking it might be a good Santa gift, or maybe birthday. Just curious if anyone has one and can't live without it!!!
Gotta go start some sheets/towels laundry but BBL for happy hour! Oh--the keeeerash was me being grateful that I'd survived the dramatic day!!! LOL!!! see y'all soon at the pool!

Junie--I've got a Kindle, I bought a first generation one on eBay and wore it out, have a second generation one now. I did not get the one that does internet, didn't want it and save some $$ getting it without. I love being able to carry a bunch of books around with me, I love having it read the books to me (not all books are 'text to speech enabled' but many are). I don't get newspapers or magazines on it, but I'm not a big magazine/newspaper person anyway. With a little looking you can find a lot of free books (public domain books, mostly older classics) and many that are are only a dollar or two. Lots of 99 cent stuff. I have a kindle adapted Bible that I use in church, it's taken me a while to learn to use the search but now I'm as quick finding verses as with a paper Bible. I like being able to highlight and make notes without worrying about the very thin paper bleeding or tearing. I also love the way I can change the font size since my aging eyes need larger print in darker settings. I think there is a 4th generation Kindle coming out soon, so the 3rd gen Kindles will go down in price from the $139 I paid for a new one. The battery does last a good long time, especially when I turn off the WiFi feature (I just turn it on when I want to shop in the Kindle store). It also charges very quickly, and I can read while it's charging, which is handy.

popping in for a dotd, the Happily ever After is just poyfect, thank you NM.
NM, I hope you were able to get your lawn cut without too much trouble. I have a tip for you which is AGAINST safety rules of mowing, but DH showed me and it does make it SO much easier getting through overgrown thick n luscious lawn. I lift the side chute door and put a stick or little shovel along the top where it is spring-loaded and pry it open as I cut. I try to go in a direction where all the clippings do not fly against the house or into the pool. Again, not the safest thing to do but otherwise, my lawn was impossible with my mower, it kept stalling before I learned this. My mower is a mulching mower. I hope you were able to get that done and also work your garden. I do enjoy gardening.
Stanzie, you are alright, I have thought I heard my DD call me many times when she is not at home. And what a challenge endured with your twins. I give you kudos for getting through all that. It must have been a very tough time for you but you did it! Sorry about the little trick I played on you with the "d", it probably made you think you were losing your mind, Pants, get our girl a few drinks please.
Karen, I hope you were able to get your flowers planted and the tickets purchased. If not, there is always tomorrow, God willing. I am glad I am not alone with not knowing Stanzie's name. So far I have:
MA_ _A_E_

Peace and love to all you fine chickadees, Beans come on in, give me a reason to stay :-)

DorK...got the rest of my flowers planted...the afternoon actually turned out to be quite nice...I replanted the gerber daisy that is dying in hopes that it will perk back up...I have two and one is doing fine..... Didn't book the tickets....Decided not to go to Toronto again, but just go to my parents before Israel....looked at Orbitz this afternoon and rates have gone up in the couple hours, so will wait a day or two.....But will buy my ticket to Florida and book DD ticket to Toronto....Need to get her back to Denver after camp.....Any NJ gals free during the day, if I need a favor? She is done camp on July 25, and hoping that she can just have camp take her to the airport....She is going to camp in the Catskills.....SW has the best fare home and doesn't charge for luggage (2 big duffle bags for one month of camp) and doesn't charge unaccompanied minor fees.....SW now flies direct out of Newark.....
DD has been working on a big language arts project...the kids write a magazine....12 or 13 essays, 5 full page ads etc....looks like the real thing...hers is 56 or so pages....went to Kinkos....3 trips today....couldn't believe how much it cost to print!!! full color on 11 x 17 and back to back.....we made a copy the other day and they must have under charged us cuz today was twice as much....she made some changes to get it perfect and it does look wonderful....the teacher keeps the magazines, so DD has a black and white copy as well as the one she did the other day....The last trip to Kinkos, this dumb arse, cut the curb too short and heard a bump....DD goes what is that hisssing sound!!! by the time we parked the car, the tire was flat...DH is not too pleased with me at all....He came and changed the tire to the tiny spare but he has to get a new tire....I ruined it!!!! Lots more to write, but DD just texted me to come get her....so got to run...will try to be back later....Karen

Let me see if I can also post on page 500!
Anyway, back from my adventure. Will report more later, but Friday was glorious, and I did travel over White Pass with fantabulous mountain vistas. Took forever, and drove almost 300 miles.
Then up on Saturday to do the 50 miler. I understand now why WIND FARMS are gaining in popularity in that part of the world. I have a couple of gashes from my chain, but didn't quite get blown off my bicycle. I had the Columbia River right out the door from where I stayed. Just glorious even if more money than I had planned.
Today's ride was everything you could imagine. Just perfect in the Yakima Canyon, and fortunately I guessed right that you want to do the uphill part first. Was a long climb, but the downhill was so fun (other than one nasty hill). No traffic, and not that crowded with cyclists.
Promise a couple of pix later.
Had beer, but no wine. This is major wine country. One learning is that Washington State has a lot more capacity for vineyards. I would do the Canyon Ride again, but would want to stay in Yakima and combine with something wine-related the day before.
But glad I went to the Tri-Cities. Very, very interesting as right next to Hanford which is where the Hiroshima bomb was built. There is still one nuclear power plant there. Anyway, I had dinner washed down with some Atomic Ale (they also make Plutonium Porter). But IPA from Kennewick gets my vote. Just lovely.
I need to prep for an interview I have in the AM for possible consulting work.
Hope everyone had a fab weekend. - Claire

Ladies...I've been away from the computer for several days. So much to catch up with all of you!
I have been gardening the last two days...nice weather finally. I've had plants that I bought two weeks ago and it has been too rainy and/or cold to plant. Then we had a day when it was 100 and some of them got fried! So finally got everything in the ground. I dug four holes for some perennials, stood up, and thought, Whoa! I'm gonna pass out. I didn't, but realized I do NOT have the stamina I had last summer (go figure), so only got half the stuff in the ground. DH says, "Dont' worry, you can finish it tomorrow" and I looked at him and said, "Tomorrow YOU can dig the holes and help me!" Geez, really? Today he was very nice and helped with everything with me supervising. I hate it though. Gardening is my therapy and not his thing and now I need help. ACK
Two more days of school and if I can live through that, I am a sponsor on my son's music trip to Seattle/Vancouver for a week. (I'm thinking maybe I posted this, but now can't remember. Sorry if this is a repeat!) Onc cleared it. 18 hours on a bus. Doesn't that sound fun?! I'm guessing I probably can't take my Ambien to sleep if I am a chaperone! DD2 (age 20) left today for 3 weeks in Europe on a college (just for fun) tour. She is somewhere over the Atlantic as I type, heading first for Turkey, then Greece and Italy. So am a little anxious as the plane was delayed over an hour for maintainance. Not what you want to hear as you are about to fly over an ocean. She sounded fine (she's gone before), but will be a restless night as I wait for her to tell me she made it.
My last chemo will be June 3 after I get back, delayed because of the music trip. Then a few weeks off and I start rads. Have not met yet with RO; I guess that will be set up at my last appointment. I have felt pretty good after this round (days 3-5 are still the tough ones but not as bad), so am hoping that continues. A little nervous about being so far away. So don't know if I will be checking in this week, but maybe once we get to our destination I can say hi real quick and tell you how fun a bus ride with teenagers really is! Claire-I will be in your neighborhood-too bad I can't check out the wine country. Probably not appropriate for the sponsor to be drinking wine, huh?! But if I see a cyclist I will wave and think that it might be you

Wow...still on page 500...Husker...have a great trip.....glad that this last chemo was "kind" to you.....This is the last week of school...but teachers have to report on the 31st...whoever came up with this not so wonderful calendar....then on the 2nd and 3rd I'm attending an autism training that I get paid for!!! Then thats it till August....One of my schools first day back is Aug 10th, but then I'm off till the 15th!!! DD has a history final tomorrow (7th grade) and a math one...Thrusday is the 7th grade picnic and friday is all play....field trip to a place called Boondocks...each grade goes somewhere different!!!
Busy week for me....I need to catch up on my medicaid billing and I still have 3 staffings...nothing like the last minute!!! not sure if I have any reports left to write, so best go check.....Tuesday night I have a class (not work related) and Wednesday night is the local Komen affiliate volunteer appreciation (oh,did I RSVP?) and then I leave bright and early Thursday morning.....DH has his colonoscopy on Th am, but son is going to take him...Son asked if he needed to say and DH goes, what if I drop dead and you're not there!!!! Geeze and he said it was okay for me to go on a morning flight...actually he encouraged me to do so....Just booked DD trip to Toronto to go see her sister and BIL before camp.....
DorK....good for you on getting the name.. I tried to fill in the blanks, but couldnt get it....so now we all know Stanzie's first name....is Mitchell the last name?
Well, thinking its time for a glass of wine (maybe 2 or 3!!!)...whose going to join me!!! Wishing everyone sweet dreams....Hugs, Karen

NM--thanks for your input on the Kindle--think I am totally interested in investing in one. Wouldn't need internet access with it so just one for books, etc. One thing that was interesting is that sdau said she can add me to her Amazon account; can have up to 5 people and I can access and read any of the books that they each have downloaded and they would have access to mine. Telling myself that would be like getting 5 books for the price of one--as long as they have the same interests. Anyways, putting it on my wish list. Sometimes, my wish list instantly turns into a gotta have it NOW list!!!
God! I am glad the kids left when they did. Both would have driven through horrid storms had they waited just a couple hours to head home. The tornado that hit Joplin, MO, killed 24 people (as of current news report). Joplin is barely an hour north of us and the Kansas City kids go right by it on their way home! But, we have also had one "tornader" warning after another all evening. TV has told us to take cover in our safe room about 5 times now! (like WHAT safe room????) Can't believe we still have power but it may not last--there is line after line of bad storms headed this way. DH has gone to bed but not until I had him put fresh batteries in one of the flashlights. I have my portable oxy handy and an extra tank. I'll prob be up until we do lose power!!! Too nervous to go to sleep just now. And, dammit--so much heavy rain and that friggin ceiling is dripping like it was open to the sky! It hasn't leaked for such a long time that we thought the last roof "fix" resolved the problem. I have heavy towels down and pans set out. What a total crock of shit!
Radar shows us currently inbetween storms and the thunder/lightning/rain has eased up. But, radar also shows more red/purple patches again heading this way......grrrrrrr.....screw it--grabbing that Tequila bottle AND dog beers and heading for my hammock! Thank goodness that crappy wind can't get into the HTL so can't swing my hammock around and dump me on the ground!
bottomsup!

awww, Junie, be safe. I am sorry you are going through this. Will pray you weather this without incident.
off to bed, for real this time, nighty night girls. awww, cant wait to hit my pillow tonight, should have been in bed hours ago.
Peace chickidees!
0 -
Oh Junie - stay safe and let us hear from you in the morning, please! Hate all this scary weather!
Dorothy- Well goodness gracious - I could clean hear you scream all they way down south here!!! I do believe we have a winner! Makes me think you have't read the classic book in quite some time.... Too funny!!!! I think about her when I go to the symphony as I pass by the sign that is a memorial to where she died crossing Peachtree Street - got hit by a taxi. I know you will sleep sound tonight nothing else to think about till we find something else......
Husker- wow, 8 hour bus ride - you are very brave - please remember to bring ear plugs I know you will need them. Won't block out the noise so you can hear what is going on but dulls it down considerably and I think you will really want that- that is too bad you can't take Ambian or Ambian with a few sips of wine but probably not a good idea. Hope the rest of the trip won't be too strenuous. I can just see you waving madly to all cyclists. Just remember if you see on in a leather mini skirt you know it is Claire or at least one who is very fashionably ebay chic dressed!!!

Hi LadieZ......
Picture from the Canyon Ride. Just the most fun ever. - Claire

Off to bed after a couple nice glasses of wine and lots of cookies!!! now I keep complaining on how much weight I have gained, but then I gobble the cookies!!!
Decided I'm going to use the miles on my credit card..not such a deal, as its dollar per mile but it will save me tons.....will wait till Tuesday to buy it.......and ticket to my folks...if I go sunday its 50 more than monday or friday....but think I rather spend shabbat with hubby....but got a day or two to decide...then all thats left is housing in Israel...since I'm not going to Toronto, if I only go to my parents on Sunday, then I'll only be gone 4 weeks and one day...otherwise its 4 1/2 weeks....but before that need to figure out this trip to DD on Th. Sweet dreams....Hugs, Karen
0 -
Wow Girls, lots going's on!
Junie are you safe? The terrible storms were reported on the news here as well so really must be bad...........hope you didn't suffer any damage or loss!
Karen, your trip sounds fabulous. I'm sure your parents would love to see you.
Dotty....Yeah!!! you did it girl!!!!! you solved the puzzle!!! now we all know Stanzie's name!! and such a pretty name it is too. Hope you're not run off your feet at work next week so you won't be too tired to drop into the HTL.
Beans, good to hear that you made it home safely. Your attic sounds like my house......overflowing!!! I have been sorting stuff as well and there are quite a few bags to go to the goodwill store. I even have some stuff that came from my mother's house that has been sitting at my house for the last eight months so I think it's time to get er done!
Claire the pic looks awsome....what a ride! I couldn't do that even in my wildest dreams!.....lol
NM, love the Happily Ever After drink, just poifect! I love the little mouse who joined us for the Sunday Buffet....lol...it is soooo cute! Oh yes, before I forget, you were talking about Lace Cookies a couple of pages back can I have the recipe please, they sound really yummy!
Goldie, I had issues with a fibroid earlier in the year and had it removed by D & C. (Dilation & Curette). The GORD (Reflux ) is something that I've had all my life and again has reared its ugly head to cause me problems so I can really commiserate on that one.
Kathy, pray tell me your secret for getting upgraded as that sure would be a neat thing to happen for my trip to the USA!
Husker, you are a very brave girl! 18 hours on a bus with noisy boys? Now that's got to earn you a gold medal! I know what you mean about stamina in the garden, mine doesn't exist anymore at all but my DH is very willing and able to so all that I tell him I want done.....lol....I guess that makes me spoilt.
Stanzie, how is your choir master? I sincerely hope that he got treatment early enough to make a difference.
Well I'm in the city ....again.....and I saw my GP.....again.....and we are trying to figure out why I'm so breathless and get damn coughing fits and then sneezing so hard it feels like I want to get rid of my lungs! Well I have a few measures to try including Aunty B's and extra doses of my Ventolin (for asthma). If this doesn't help over the next two weeks, I have to have a chest CT.....again. On the good side of things I'm off to the Lymphedema Clinic tomorrow for an assessment and measuring for a sleeve and glove! It's time to get this crud sorted once and for all!
Hope you girls all had a good sleep! I'm heading for the deck where I hope to find the lads so I can get me some of that DOTD from yesterday....sounds really yummy! Mmmm....now where have those boys disappeared to? PaNtS! JoCkS! Where you at?
TITZ UP!!!!!

DorK---I did get the lawn mowed, although the thick, high, still a bit wet grass gave the mower some trouble at times. My mower is a mulching mower, too, so I'm going to try your trick next time it gets like it was, that may be why my mower was having trouble! I have a circular garden that I mow around in the direction that blows the cuttings away from the garden, too. I didn't get to work in the garden, but I did get a largish section of drooping chain link fence taken down. Gotta get some help with the rest of it, though. Time for another pan of lasagna, me thinks. I did have a bit of a surprise, though. I've been watching a robin that I thought had a nest in one of the cedars in front of the house, trying to see where the nest was. I finally found the nest in the garage, on top of the door opener unit! Nothing in it, but I saw the robin fly in and out a couple times, so maybe she hasn't laid the eggs yet.

Beanie-I'll have a dwinky with you, especially if you have sun! I haven't seen real sun in WEEKS!
Karen-I don't usually plant until the beginning of June, just too much of a chance of a late frost and the ground has a chance to warm up. My garden usually catches up with the early planters by the middle of August. Wish I lived in NJ so I could help out. Sorry about the tire, but these things happen. Tell hubby to chill, next time it will happen to him!

Claire-sounds like a beautiful area to visit and bike! Good luck with the interview, I'm sure you will WOW them!

Husker-you are brave to chaperone a trip like that! I bet if you took the ambien you still wouldn't sleep, but probably not the best idea. Do the chaperones take turns with night duty? Check in if you can, and know you are in our prayers!

Junie-I had forgotten that Kindle books can be shared, a definite bonus! The local weather man was commenting on the line of T-storms, hail and tornados yesterday, the map he showed with colored dots was scary to look at. I can't imagine softball size hail.

Stanzie-thanks for the fun with your name!

Off to take the GRE in a little while. Maybe some garden time in the pm today. I want to play in the dirt!

DOTD: The Gardener
1 oz Gold Rum
1/2 oz Melon Liqueur
1 tsp Pear Liqueur
1 tsp Kiwi Syrup
1 1/2 oz Grapefruit Juice
3/4 oz Pineapple JuiceDirections
Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, and serve.

Karen, that is awesome about the magazine, but why would the teacher be allowed to keep the colored one? That is not right. Your daughter wrote it, you paid for the colored version, teacher should only be allowed to keep the B&W. Just my opinion. As for the Gerber Daisy's........I love those! But never have good luck with them, they always die. Mitchell, as far as I know is NOT Stanzie's last name, and I would not recommend for anyone to post that kind of information on line in a public forum.
OMG.......about the "D" in Stanzie's name........that was FUNNY! Yes, I thought you lost your cookies Mitch!
Beanie Weanie is home! A picture of dirt?
Junie, glad NM could help you out with the Kindle, as I had never heard of it. Also glad the kids left when they did. Storms this year are just plain HORRID!
Kristy, glad DH ended up helping you. You will do better next summer, you have a lot going on with your body right now, and still need to be careful and not over do. 18 hours on a bus? Good luck! J/K, have a wonderful time! Glad to hear that you new cocktail is being a little kinder on you......that should continue, I hope so.
LMbigoleA off at Dork! Woooo Hoooooo you got it! Go DorK, go DorK!
Chrissy, sure hope AuntyB helps, and you won't have to endure more tests. Thanks for the thyroid info.
NM, I hope you get some sun soon. That is one of the things I really like about Arizona! The "Gardener" is a poifect drink for us.......me thinks I will sip on one all day long while at work, just sounds so yummy. Hey, will you be making any more wine? Have you drank everything you made last year?
Happy Mundane!

Gardner Why women love him? He is at one with nature, gets his hands dirty and knows the name of every type of flower. He spends his days outside in the sun, working up a natural golden tan. His uniform usually consists of pants and sweat beads dripping down his shirtless chest.
0 -
Gosh they don't make gardners like that in this part of the world.... sigh! So who is next for the first name guess?
I agree with Goldie about the magazine! That isn't right.
Junie, let me know how you like the Kindle. I was all set to get one then both my sister's kindle's started acting up so it scared me off. But who knows they travel a lot and one is such a speed reader she may have just worn it out by herself.
Love the wallet cartoon - that is so something I would do!!!

goldie--I still have a few bottles of Strawberry reisling, got some blueberry and blackberry aging, a bunch of pineapple wine bottled and ready to drink, currently got cranberry and fennel wine and cherry mead cooking. The fennel is ready to bottle, the cranberry is still bubbling, and I just started the cerry mead (cherry juice and honey for the sugar source). Got plans for rhubarb and apple this summer.

I want a gardener.
I been awol cuz I was cruzn the net Friday night looking for stylish hairstyles for women "over 40" and got a nasty virus on my pc. I haven't updated my anti-virus in awhile cuz I was too busy studying and drinkin and now I have no pc. I'm using DH's ... but he doesn't know I put my own password on his pc ... ssshhhh! He doesn't like it when we mess with his stuff so I can only use it when he isn't home. Anyway I have Geek Squad working on it. The salesman who sold me the maintenance plan said they can remove a virus same day so I though I would have it back today but the tech laughed at that and said 'mayyyyybe by Friday'... I just hope my cell phone doesn't stop working because I have no way of backing up my Outlook schedule and contacts. It's 4 years old so I expect it to poop out any day now.
Chrissy - so sorry about your friend. It just reminds us all to appreciate each and every day.
Oh, I did get a haircut! Went to DD's hairdresser and was a little nervous cuz they are so hip (i.e., colorful hair and tattoos all over themselves) but she was really professional ... I guess having a 12 foot python tattoo wrapping around your body doesn't actually affect your ability to be professional - that's just an assumption in my professional realm! Anyway I took in several pics of layered cuts but my hair is thick and starting to get dry and coarse (maybe I am... uggg... aging?). Anyway I told her I would listen to her professional opinion and she said BOB! so I bobbed... with bangs. My avatar is me without makeup (!) but a cute bob.
And then I came home and painted the main bathroom. I picked up paint on the way home from my exam cuz I was worried I wouldn't have anything to do now that the exam is over and I just work fulltime, maintain our house, and get my kids through things like not going to the prom, graduating, acing the AP tests, MOVING OUT to the dorm... and trying to get WD to swallow his little flea pill. The color is called Lucky Potato, which is a creamy beige but I just liked the name.
Anyone drinkin yet?

Gail - you look so adorable and soooo young! Very cute. wow, if that is what you do when you have nothing to do well...... I love the name Lucky Potato. I half the time pick out wine if it has a good name or label or better yet a good bottle!'
So, have a question. Have had so much trouble keeping weight off - have gone back to working with the trainer and for 5 months was going 3 times a week. nothing. Well, I think I have finally figured it out - yep a little slow. It is not having estrogen!!! I am just so so tired all the time. Went to run errands on Sunday and went to two stores and I thought I was going to pass out I was so exhausted and I think it is no estrogen. So now what am I doomed to barely moving and getting fat? anyone else have this going on.....

Stanzie..... No, just means you have to keep moving. Inertia of motion vs inertia of rest. I doubt I have any more estrogen than you do. I need both cardio and strength training. That headwind on Saturday did both.....strength training being cycling into it plus upper body related to not getting blown over. The trick is to do something fun.
Gail.....I get my hair cut at a place where nose rings, body art, and brilliant hair colors are the norm. But they do great edgy stuff too. My hair stylist is also doing a bob, which is what I am wearing as my hair grows out. Finally, looks like me. (Got my wigs there too, and the Group Health staff fought over them when I donated them following radiation.)
My interview got pushed back to Wednesday. I also submitted my resume for a cool full time position locally which I think would be a wonderful fit both ways. We shall see. I did have a contact there so called her and gave her a "heads up". I checked into what she had been up to so could also offer major congrats (promotion, got married, bought a new place).
Glad not to be driving anywhere today. Need to get out and do a walk and shopping as promised to help a friend this evening.
I also have a plan in place to snag more contract work should the FT not pan out. Think I am finally on a roll. So thrilled to be there. - Claire

Nice look, AStorm! It is true that you can't judge a book by it's cover, sounds like the hairdresser is one good case in point! I'm drinking, and drinking hard. Went to town, took the GRE exam this morning, got home on a drizzly 45 degree day and discovered that I'm out of oil. No heat, no hot water.
Very inconvenient. Ordered some oil, it will be delivered Wednesday, but that's better than the paying extra fees for an "off schedule" delivery! I'm really not good at keeping an eye on the oil guage, got to learn to do that. Sadie is doing an awfully good job keeping my feet warm, though. Of course, it gets her a chance to hang out on the big ottoman, which does not hurt her feelings at all.
And I want a gardener, too, both the liquid kind and Goldie's kind.
I had a lovely pork chop and fiddlehead dinner, and a nice after dinner drink would be just perfect right now.
