    Morning gals,

Glad to hear you are doing well Kitty and nice to see you.

Claire, congats and great idea on making someone else murphy today. I need to get two problem children's loans closed or I will have a sweet homeless couple as they are selling today and not yet approved. I just hate our systems and all the issues that come with it. but $ is good.

Lori, gosh I saw that the fires are like 500+ miles, wow wow wow. I pray that the wind stops and they are contained soon.

Hi Kathy, Junie, NM, Kymn, Husker, Chrissy, Storm n Stanz...who did I miss?

Time to make the donuts!! Have a great day. going near 100 degress today, yuk!!

Peace n love to each of you and sorry if I missed someone.  Cheers, have a cold one for me!

DorK Glad the money is good, cuz those long hours SUCK! We knew you would get good contacts again and do amazingly well, so no surprize there. But try not to get toooo worn-down. Yeah, pass Murphy along....you had him long enuf! Time for a good, smooth day today...hmmmm.....maybe you should bring JD to work....j/k. Good luck w/ closing that loan for the young couple!

Kittycat, YAY for the clear scans!!! We missed ya, but glad all is going well.....enjoy life. Love the pic of you with your brunette wig....you are just a beautiful girl. Don't stay away so long!

Just got up, but want to see what the fires in AZ are doing now. Looks like strong winds....not good.Hoping somehow they will be able to contain them, but not sure how. Lori, So glad you are not in the path of it!!! Boy, have we all (well most of us) been hit with some horrid weather this year! Aren't you going off soon? So are we....hoping Junie will join us there.

Hey Kitty! You all should see how cute she looks with her short do. But she is like our Kymn, beautiful no matter what her hair style or color is!

Kathy, I so wish we could have seen you tip! I know DorK and I would be laughing. The yaks are very nice tho, and look like so much fun. Sorry bout the snakes though! Ewwwwww. Yes, we going to Phx this weekend and of course staying at our favorite place!

Stanzie, the fire is in NE Arizona and it is actually moving into NM as well. Here is a clickable link for you, so you can see BeanZ new pad https://picasaweb.google.com/soccerd747/MobileSuitesPicassa?authkey=Gv1sRgCLXAyPeNi5_C6QE# Hopefully that will work for you.

Beans, I am so sorry the cabin has been put on hold and the reasons for it.

Kristy, you will bounce back soon and of course we Kymn going in tomorrow and after that Kymn....ONE MORE!

Where did my lampshade go? NM.......did you take it? Junie, are passed out somewhere?

Yes Claire, it is dry out here AZ. The area that is burning does not have the same landscape as I have, that you see in the picture.

This is what it is like in the area that is burning, I hope that cabin is safe!

They have all of those tall ponderosa pine trees. Still no containment, almost 400,000 acres burned and more wind today. It is very very sad, and like some of you mention, the wild life as well, which there is a lot of in those mountains, bear, elk, deer, antelope, all the little critters, etc. There have been some structures burned, but they can't get in there yet to find out which ones. I am sure this will end up surpasing the Rodeo/Chedeski Fire we had in 2002 where almost half a million acres were burned. That one was just west of us. They are saying this was caused by humans, most likely an abandoned camp fire.

Those fires are just terrifying.... I can't imagine how awful it must be. Fire, wind and rain - really bad when out of control and we are helpless when any of them are raging..

Kittycat!!! Lovely to see you! We missed you! Thrilled everything is good for you! We were all wondering about you so thanks for checking in. Lori did tell us you were alright so we didn't worry.

Today is starting out wretched. Had a big theraputic massage yesterday. Yes I did OK it with my BS before. Anyway, my legs have been hurting terribly and haven't been able to sleep as it hurts when I lie down. Well this woman had been highly recommended by a couple I know and they even gave me a gift certificate for the massage. Anyway, it was facinating. One thing NO ONE has ever told me is that one leg is signifigantly shorter than the other... well no wonder my balance has always been so terrible even without MS. And it makes sense with the way I was born - one foot was twisted around and up on the inside of my calf. Long story but basically ended up with surgery when I was 8 so I could walk but had to relearn at 8. So found that out and she noticed all sorts of things on how my other foot and leg compensated for it and perhaps why my left side gives me such trouble. Then she went up to my scars and BC surgery. Well within minutes she was able to gain a huge amout of motion I didn't think I would get back. However some of her massage was on the rougher side and last night I could feel it. so had trouble sleeping then about 3:00am my AC ONLY in my room went off....?? Don't begin to understand that.

So this morning my DS had his orthodontist apt. And not just any one. It is the third one. As I totally forgot the first one even though my son knew it was that afternoon but decided not to say or ask about it. Till I realized I had forgotten he pipes up with "Yeah I was wondering when we were leaving..." The second time was total confusing with two other appointments that got changed over and over so I'm not totally surprised I missed that one  so he had another today - they are not happy with me. So the only apt left was at 8:30 and at an office far away. So my ex says he will drop him off if I'll pick him up. Actually it isn't really a help as it means I got to leave my house like 10 min. earlier. So, I even asked my son, wouldn't it just be easier to stay here with me and we'd go in the am. Oh no, he wanted to go to his Dad's. Fine. Well. I get a call when I'm half way to the office from my son saying - the office is closed. I call the office nope have been open since 7:00am . Well since he didn't read the directory correctly for the dentist apt the day before I'm thinking he can't figure out where to go ..... but no! My ex took him to the wrong office! So now this is 3 missed appointments and he leaves next week to be gone a month at camp.

I would have been annoyed but then my ex pulls what my sisters and family always pull on me which just makes me so angry. They tell me I never told them! So it is always my fault and I end up thinking I'm totally losing it and my mind is just totally messed up. Well, luckily I had sent my ex an email and not only did it give the correct office but was also in capital letters! So I feel better about that but why can't they ever say, oh gosh I didn't remember you telling me that.... why is it always You are wrong you never told me? Does anyone else get this kind of "gaslight (the old movie) treatment?" Just wondering as my family as done this to me and only me as long as I can remember and it is just so hurtful.... And my kids have even started picking up on it from my ex. like this is the way to get out of anything with Mom as she had trouble remembering things...... Sorry for the long rant just so tired and in pain and hurt and upset.......

Oh Stanzie, here is a BIG dwink, and a BIG hug for you.....you so need both today! So sorry how everyone has been treating you.....that SUCKS and isn't fair at all. We need to tell them all to play fair...OR....we can ask DorK to send "some people over"....she has many contacts you know! No, I haven't been treated the same way, but one thing my dad always does, is nothing is EVER his fault. Its almost funny now that I have been grown for many years, as I can see it coming. IF you are ever wrong, he makes a big deal of it, but if HE is ever wrong, somehow he turns it around to not ever be his fault. Since he is 94, I am used to it, but also he has mellowed a lot and doesn't do it as much anymore, as he knows he needs help with some things now. I am just so glad he is so good to my mom, as when I was young he was terrible to her (and us) which is why they divorced when I was around 12. BUT he missed her all those yrs, even though he remarried several times, so it was perfect that they got remarried over 7 yrs ago. Now they can help each other and are good company for each other. BUT back to your day....sure hoping it gets better.....can't get much worse, can it. Did you ever figure out why your BR a/c went out???

Lori, its just so devastating how bad those fires are. So very sad.

Take care today, girlzzzz.....I think we have lots more partying to do at Junies before DH returns home. Junie, are you STILL passed out???? Haven't heard a peep out of you!

    Dwink Up!

Claire - Like the yurt idea, maybe will get that set up B4 winter - ha ha ha! And I gotta clean my old oven too, I found this Simple Green product that is less toxic than the stuff I used to get, but I think I'll have to scrub more. So cool you got a great new contact, I'm sure that will work out for you.

Karen - Hope your candle lighting went well. I look forward to hearing more about Shavuot.

Stanzie - As for the cabin here...we started developing this property in 2008 and there has been one thing after another, including deaths, injuries, and cancer. We have a well, septic, nice shop/garage, electricity...washer/dryer, etc.  I thought for sure the cabin would work out this year, but couldn't find a builder again and this is after trying for a long time. I have talked to a lot of so-called builders in the area. The land is just so far out in the mountains that no one wants to do it. Then as a last resort we were going to just build it ourselves and that plan is now in the toilet. So I'm thinking that it's just not meant to be. So it will just be fun for us to recreate here in the summers and then go back to our house on the coast in winter. Maybe we will sell this mountain property and look somewhere that's not so darn wet and cold anyway. It is June 8 and outside the temps are in the 40's and it's been pouring rain for three days. I love sun so much and so maybe this just isn't the right spot for us???

What a story about the massage. Sounds like it was helpful in some ways, but also maybe stirred up some things. I sure hope you feel better soon. And your DS knew about the apt but didn't say anything? Oh, kids are so funny. And then your ex took him to the wrong office, how frustrating! And then to blame you for not telling him, I would be so upset and please feel free to rant any time!

Husker - I'm so glad to hear that today is a bit better, you have sure been through a lot! Glad too that you know your limits and will just stop and rest when you need to. I bet you will be so happy to see your DD2 and I bet she will be delighted to see you, hope you have a nice visit with her!

Wahine - thanks for the nice words about our new RV. We don't have a truck that can handle this whale. We had it delivered and there's a special 5th wheel hitch that is needed, plus the thing weighs 16,000 lbs! Yes, this is a huge party bus and it's ready whenever anyone wants a party!! I like your idea, I can borrow my neighbors twuck and dwive awound to see evwyone!!! Yahoo! Good idea too to get DorK's people over to help Stanzie out! That is funny about your dad turning things around, some people can't handle being wrong. I'm just so used to it! I always tell my DH just blame me, it's proly my fault. That's neat your dad has mellowed with age and your parents could re-marry. What a beautiful romance.

Dofey - Hope you aren't working too hard, I know the feeling about being behind, I've been racing around and not getting to hang here enough. From my 40 acres, the closest town is about 40 minutes away and to find a Home Depot I have to drive about 1.5 hours each direction. I've been in my car a lot getting "stuff" to set up our "camp." Like you I just love the gals here so much and even when I can't be here I am in spirit and with my spirits! Thanks for looking at my fancy wheels! I guess it's a bit more comfortable than when we used to camp with our tent and Coleman stove. You're right that it's good we can move it I'm jealous of all Goldie's Arizona sun, so I'm tempted to giddiup down south. Good luck with the problem loan, ug! Rest up chica and we can have a fun Pau Hana tonight!

Kittycat - gosh it is so good to see ya here! I'm so so so happy to hear your scans were clear last month, just fantastic news!

Goldie - I'll second wahine and say I'm so glad you are not in the path of those fires! Can I send you some rain? Hope you have a great time in Phx. Oh wow, thanks for putting in a clickable link. The seller had a fabulous dog too, a yellow lab and a yellow lab puppy, I just fell in love with the pup. Thanks for the sympathies about the cabin too. It kinda sux and it's disappointing, but after you beat your head against a wall for 3 years it feels kinda good to stop. That is a beautiful cabin pic you posted, sure hope it doesn't burn. What a tragedy and to think it was a careless camper who let their fire get out of control.

Kymn - pepperoni it is and anything else you want including prayers for your team! And Goldie is right, you are gorgeous!!!

I am still reading and catching up. I know I have missed Junie, Chrissy, NM, AStorm and I can't wait to read your posts. As for the moment, I'm grabbing a bucket of dog beers and lounging in the sun by the pool and going through the pages I missed. I'll see you bright and early for Happy Hour!!! Love & hugs & no bed bugs, Beans

YEAH!!! Pau Hana time....anyone still here??? Oh Beans, that is such a cute puppy....is this like the one you saw? I think you definately should get a furbaby....except a pup might chew up the RV! Can you pwetty pwease send your rain here to us???? It hasn't rained in a long time, and our water is so expensive $$$$....that we have had to water our lawn the last 2 wks, and our bill will be ginormous. Even though my parents are in the same subdivison, and just a mile away, they are in a different city with not only CHEAP water, but their lawn is watered from the lake, for FREE! Its so funny how the city limit goes in and out, back and forth, down the road. I love your new RV....what size truck would you need to pull it??? Ours is just a Silverado V8, so I doubt that would work. Would be such fun to have it as a party RV-bus, or if you could visit us all! AND I think you should move down South, we have LOTS of sun, right Stanzie? Come and visit and see if you like all our heat. But we do have several Home Depots, Lowes, Walmarts, Super Targets, etc. LOTS of shopping!!!!! And eating!!!  And lakes and rivers!!!

Yes Kymn, the others are right....you are beautiful!! And like Beans said, of course we will bring your fav pizza! Also maybe a good vegetable one for me, and whatever anyone else wants. See you soon!!!! Looks like your postal service is still on strike? Oh, at least one of our kayaks is make in CANADA!!! Haven't checked the other one.

Did lots of painting outside in the heat today, and errands, and I guess my bottom is still sore from falling onto the concrete boat ramp as I am HURTING right now! SO, won't get to try our 2 kayaks together tonight. Darn it, but I really AM sore! SO, dwinking in the cool house, then out to paint more when it gets a bit cooler. Thinking of all you awesome chicas, and wishing everyone the best! I hope Junie's DH wasn't upset at the mess we left....and all the random lampshades all over! Glad we snuck out before he drove up though! Thanks for being a wonderful hostess with the mostess junie!

    Happy Hour!!!! Down the Hatch!!!

Mitch, so sorry for your horrid day. Grab a lampshade and a drink, you will feel better!

Risque, I love the fact that DorK knows people!

Kymn, you WILL feel that way again, and all of this will be behind you. Can I have my pizza with no peppers pweeze. My tummy just can't handle that hot stuff!

Beans, we had the same problem here with trying to find builders, which is how we ended up gutting a 2500 sq. ft. modular. We still have work on the outside to do, to try and make it look cabinish! I really really wish you could send your rain here!  They think the camp fire was abandoned, not that it go out of control....well eventually it did!

The fire is still at 0% containment, this wind just won't stop! They are now evacuating 2 more cities, Springerville and Eager. One of which is a community where there are people living, businesses, etc. Not just the forest. Due to all the wind and this fire being SE of us, we are not getting the smoke, like we have had a few times.

Here is a link with some photos and recent news, if anyone is interested.

    http://www.azfamily.com/news/Wallow-Fire-evacuations-123493414.html?gallery=y&c=y

We are off to town tomorrow morning (here, not Phx) I have to get my bloodwork done to have that darned colesterol checked. I have been taking Lipitor for 3 weeks. Bad thing is, my doctor is in Springerville! Then heading to Phx Friday morn.

If you look to the far right border, and in the middle, you see Alpine and Eagar, that is where the fire is. Springerville is so small it is not even on there. But just north, you can see Snowflake and St. John's. I live in between those two cities.

Lori, Will you still get to see your dr? It said "full" evacs in Springerville....puleez be careful!! I think the national news said so far over 600 sq miles? Thanks for the link....will check it after my tv shows tonight. What a horrid fire. I hope your chol readings will be GREAT tomorrow!!! Hoping the lipitor will work. My DH broke off a big part of his front tooth today! Looks sooooo bad, and he will see the dentist tomorrow, but not sure how quickly it can be fixed. So, I guess he will look bad when we go to the casinos....think they will feel sorry for him and let him WIN big???? Nah, didn't think so. OH, there was a car like yours parked by us at Home Depot...so I was excited, and showed DH.

    Take care everyone!

Wahine-Phew! Whaddda weewief! Nevva cud dwink jush one!
When getting into and out of a kayak you are at the greatest risk of tipping over and getting dunked. Put the kayak parallel to the shore, with the bottom of the kayak touching the bottom of the lake/river/whatever. Put one end of the paddle on the bottom on the side away from the shore and use it to steady yourself as you get in. If you are limber enough (I'm NOT!) the easiest way to get in without tipping over is to straddle the kayak and walk up until you can lower your Buttocks into the seat and then pull your legs in. Once in use the paddle to push yourself out into deeper water. Kayaks draw so little water that it won't take but a few inches before you are floating freely and ready to go. OK, what do golf balls have to do with water snakes?????????

Beanie-An RV while building seems like a great way to go! Once the cabin is built you can either use it for traveling or sell it. Looking forward to having you back on a more "regular" basis!

Claire-a YURT? Really? Aren't yurts dark and gloomy?

    Apparently not:

Karen-Have a pleasant and peaceful Shavout! See you when you get back in to the lounge.

Stanzie-I throw kayak races only for very, very good wine! Or Godiva chocolate. Or chocolate mousse. Or chocolate truffles. Or Bailey's Chocolate Mint. Or Chambord. Or Crème Brulee. Or Cherry Cheesecake. As you can see I am VERY hard to bribe, so few people can meet my price. . .

Husker-Glad you took the day off for yourself. Fatigue is an insidious problem that we all try to work through too often, IMNSHO. Open water kayaking on your first trip? Impressive!

DorK-You are working too hard! I know it's necessary, but don't let it go on too long! The Lounge just isn't the same without out! Got to find some Murphy repellent for you.

Claire-Clean oven!!!! Cheers!!!!! One of those jobs no one likes to do but are nice to have done. Praying for the major contact.

Well, Hello Kittycat! It's been ages since you've been here! Whatcha drinkin' these days? Hooray for clear scans! We need a PARTAY for Kittycat!

Hmm. Anyone remember where I hided thash Lamshade????  Din I leeve it in cheer?

Stanzie-your ex sounds crazy to me. Families can be so idiotic sometime. My Mom had a similar problem with her sister about my Grandmother's appointments. Mom would make the appointment and then they would work out who would take Gram, but several times there were missed appointments and the sisters would pull the "you never told me" line with Mom. After the 3rd or 4th time she told them to make the arrangements themselves. Maybe it's time the ex made the appointments and took care of getting DS there? How old is DS? Is he old enough to begin taking some responsibility for keeping track of his appointments and reminding you/his Dad? Finding out one leg is longer than the other does explain a lot of things, doesn't it? One thing to keep in mind is that a good therapeutic massage will generate some muscle aching the next day or two until the lactic acid gets cleared out. Not that any of us want any more doctor's appointments, but an orthopedic consult may be helpful. There are things that can be done to compensate for unequal leg length. Sorry you are having such a rough time right now. I can understand that you are hurt and upset. Being tired and in pain doesn't help.

Kymn-I'll make sure the Tenders get your pizza order for when they stock up the bus. We'll be there to make sure you get treated like a Princess!.

Overslept this morning and almost was late for the meeting at work!  Hard to believe it's my 1st week on the schedule and I'm already almost blowing it!  They would have forgiven me, I know, but there was one patient I really needed to talk about at this meeting so we'd have a plan BEFORE a very predictable crisis happens. Then a run to the discount grocery store, then to my massage, then dinner with some freinds.  Such a busy day!  Got the garden weeded out yesterday, going to spend some time tomorrow planting some seedlings and putting some seeds in  the ground.  I am so happy to have a job that gives me time to take care of the garden for a change!

DOTD:  Murphey Repellant1 oz Dry Vermouth
    1 oz Canadian Whiskey
    1/4 oz Lemon Juice
    1 dash Orange Bitters
    1 dash Grenadine

Stir well over ice cubes in a mixing glass. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and serve.

Popping in for a few Murphy repellants. And wow, you girls have been busy. I read all the posts and have so much to say but I am beat. I worked for 12.5 hours today, it is like the old days.

Beans, bring that deluxe RV to NJ, we could go to the beach, the pinelands or the mountains. I would love having something so luxurious. I made DH look at it too.

Lori, gosh, that is so horrible what is happening. And the poor wild life, that sucks big time. I will pray that there is containment and soon. And really cool seeing where you live.  I was at both the Grand Canyon and the Painted Dessert, such beauty surrounds you.  I would love to see you change your pic and put a lampshade as a hat hehehe!

Stanzie, you poor dear. Sorry about the BS. I still know people, let me know if you need help. I can have them "offed" or just hurt and it will be free of charge for you. Not sure if I said before but your profile pic is gorgeous, you look so glam!

Wahine, RW, gosh you do so much in a day, you amaze me. I cannot tolerate the heat at all.  It is 87 degrees here and after 10pm, nasty nasty nasty, I hate it.

NM, very happy for you having time to play in your garden and plant your seeds. I love working in the yard but it is just too hot now. I got alot of weeding done over the weekend and am trying to get things in order over the next six weeks. I can't stand the thought of being cut again and having my back cut sceeves me. Maybe Beanie can bring her RV and gather the gals, I will need you all. Glad you were not late to work too! Thanks for the directions in doing the split screen, I figured it out, maybe someday I will do just that. Your posts are so awesome, you crack me up.

Junie, sounds like the gals had a great party.  I miss ya here, pop on in for a Murphy repellant or whatever the dotd is. Gosh I am fried, as in fried chicken and it is not even fried-dey. I cant think straight.

Kymn, I will be there tomorrow for the pizza party. And if anyone acts up, remember I know people. I wish you all the best. This will be over before you know it, hang tough my dear. I am praying hard but your boys are not looking good, hope they step it up in the final period. I am watching from my cave and also typing from here too, it is just too hot and I have the ac on in my cave.

Who am I missing? Gail, Claire, did not see you today but then again I am nearly blind from staring at the pc all day.

Beanie baby, yeah, I will join you for a drink. I think it will be one and done for me. I am about to jump in the pool to cool off, the house temp is 78 but still feels hot. Don't tell but when no one is around, I go into my cave and take off my bathing suit, wrap a towel around me and skinny dip. I hate having a wet suit on and taking it off. I will even let my one "girl" float. Geez, they used to look so pretty when they were floating. I had DH take a pic of me last year with the girls floating the eve of my bmx and they floated so pretty, I miss my old girls...wah wah wah!!!

Ok, rambling but I know most of you won't mind. Love ya girls and miss you lots. I was not going to say much, how bout that!

Cheers chairs and whatever Kathy said, it cracked me up but I don't recall.

May peace be with you all!

DorK.....actually glad you are working these hours because that will mean $$$$$$ headed your way.  So thrilled you are there.  I think also proving to everyone that you still "have it".  This is important.

I am on the case of making contacts to get myself "out there" as want this all settled ASAP.  But certainly within the next few weeks.

Beans......I am sure you will figure this out.  At least you have a (mobile) back up plan.  However, suspect all will be well when you have a cosy place with fire.  But not this year.

Why do I suspect another Type A here?

NM....you will get there.  Learning curve and adjustment.

So sorry about the fires in AZ.  Major worry.

Stanzie....so sorry about your legs.  If it's any consolation, I don't have good binocular vision.  So always have to compensate for that one.  At least I have a brain.

Off to bed in a few.  Made a delish dinner which I am washing down with some lovely wine.  Cleared up for the evening so just cool and glorious.

Kymm......good luck in the AM.  You will be done soon.  Was wonderful to see you Kittycat.  Life continues, and that is the best news.  BottomZZZZZZZZ upppppppppppppp. - Claire

NM, Love the kayak cartoon, and your room full of lampshades! Well, I had heard that a snake "might" mistake a golf ball for an egg and try to eat it. IF it does, then you can imagine the result. But the 2 dens of snakes are still young, so that would be too big for them (I think). I kept waking up last night seeing those snakes, and then imagining how many might be in the lake! uuuggghhh! And thanx for the tips too....lots to learn; this is new territory for us! Hope I don't fall on my bum next time....some hard concrete on the boat ramp!

Lori, OOPS. For some reason I equated blood work w/ doctor visit. Seems like so many of us are always seeing one dr or another. But I still do hope your results will be GOOD. And that when you need to see your dr, that town will be okay. DH broke off that tooth biting into a sandwich he had just made, with some turkey bacon he cooked, egg, etc. At first he blamed it on the peppercorns! But there prob was a small pc. of bone or something in the bacon, and I wonder if it had also been maybe weakened for some reason.

DorK, Well I know who might be rolling in dough so much that she can plan a meeting of all of us, and even provide airfare....just kidding! Glad the moola is coming in, but oh gawd those are long hours!! Not sure I could do that. Sounds like a good night for skinny dipping, and a good way to cool off. Hot, hot, and more heat....such a steamy summer (but not even summer yet!!!). I think I said "broomsticks" if that is what you were referring to.....not sure why I wrote that...just came out of the blue....so must be a blue broomstick?

Trying to ketchup on all the shows....anyone still up and dwinking????

Yay, RW, I will have just one more. It is midnight and I must retire soon. Oh $hit about DH tooth. Hope it can get fixed fast. My guess would be a temp crown to bix it temporarily.NM does rock with giving out great info when needed. I propose a toast of the Murphy Repellant dotd to NM, cheers n broom sticks and chairs too.

Thanks Claire, sometimes I wonder if the stress is worth the money. I am driven when it comes to work but get obsessed, somethimes I think the stress gave me the beast.

Well I am going to get on a broom stick and head into the house. I am up way too late but had to have a little "me" time.

Forgive me but spellcheck annoys me here. Nighty night all, sleep well and best to all of ya great chickadees!

quick pop in....have scanned the last few pages but can't keep up!   In my cyber world I am sitting out on the deck with you all, having a few more dog beers and swapping jokes and stories and laffin my butt off!

In my real world, I am enjoying the heck out of my DD and g/daus' visit.   The girls are 8 and 10 and such delightful little girls--we have been having so much fun.   And, my DD has not pushed one button since she's been here.....we have had a blast after the girls are asleep--staying up way too late each night and talking and drinking way too many dog beers each (my gawd, that girl can keep up with me!!!)  and laffin my butt off!

I think I did push my DD's buttons though........I'd found some wooden flutes that DH and I had brought back from a trip to Mexico several years ago.    So I gave the girls each one and they were tooting on them (kind of like a primitive flutaphone).    So, I took them in the computer room and found a video of the pole dancers dressed in Mayan costumes who do a glorious "pole" dance at the Mayan ruins in Tulum, MX, and in the video you can hear the flute music they were playing on ancient wooden flutes.      DH and I had seen the dance--awesome--and bought the wooden flutes at a market there.    So, DD comes in to see what we were doing......and one of the g/daus piped up--"We're watching pole dancing!"  and DH blew her top and yelled at ME!!!   LOL!!!   Took me a few minutes to calm her down!!

I'd cyber shopped and bought them each some clothes for school next year--things they can mix and match and probably they have about 10 different outfits each, plus they are close in size so share clothes.   They were so excited to unwrap those today, then had a fshion show.  And, we are having a ball with scratch off lottery tickets (think I'm going to go broke!!!) but well worth the giggles and jokes and laughs we've shared.    They have all been the best "babysitters" I could possibly have had.   So far, a most wonderful visit with them.....

I think my DD has finally grown up and that makes me feel really old!   Instead of me fussing at her, she's fussing at me..........heading back out to the deck to see who's passed out under their lampshade........what a fun week!!!!   Will try to post some pics next week after they've gone home.

huggsss to all and cHairs and bottomsup!!!!

As usual, it's hard to keep up with you girls!

Kathy, sorry you fell out of the kayak, it doest take a bit of practice to get it right but when you do there will be no stopping you!   Oooo sorry about DH broken tooth....ouch! sure hope he can get it fixed as soon as possible!

Dotty 12 and a half hour days?   Girl you got to be nuts!  I know the money thing is good but trying to kill yourself getting it is not.  Do you have to do so many hours or is that by choice?

NM love Murphys Repellant although the weather is too cold here now to be bothered by bugs so I'll put that one in he file for next Summer.  Glad you're really enjoying the new job schedule so you can spen some time in your garden.

Junie, it sounds like you are right about your DD growing up......there is a little tell when it happens.......they start telling you what and how to do things....lol........Yup, been there done that twice!!!  Both DD's are always telling me what I should do.  Enjoy the grand daughters while you have them there....they will wear you out but there will be time for recouperation after they have gone home.

Beans I didn't get to see your new RV.......boo hooo!!!!!  the link won't work for me....Wahhhh!!!!!.....I want to see too!  It sounds fabulous with all the creature comforts.  Sure hope the building can get going soon for you.

Lori those fires are terrible and all that smoke so close....ugh!  When I see things like that my first thought goes to all the little critters and birds that will get trapped.....it's heart breaking!  Hoping they stay far enough away from you that they won't effect you.

Kristy that bus trip was probably a bit too much for you but hope you are on the mend now.  I bet you are jumping for joy having your DD home again!  It's lovely that you are so close to her.

Claire...yay!!! For you getting your oven done.  It's the one job I loathe doing as I can't get down to reach into the back but I don't have to anymore.....yay for me!....this new oven is a self cleaner....woohoo!!!  Hope the networking goes well!!!

Kittycat.....yay!!!  woohooo!!!!  Celebrations for you clear scans!  That is great news!

Stanzie, sorry you hurt after your massage but they can stir things up a bit.  My DD is a qualified masseuse and says that if your haven't had one in a while it's best to have a gentle one to start and then in a couple of days go back and have another that way you are not so sore.  Interesting about one leg being shorter than the other though.

Kymn good luck!!!  My brain is a bit foggy is this your last or have you one more after this......hope it's your last!  ((((HUGS))))

Who have I missed Astorm?  Hope all is well in your world!  Any one else?  Sorry don't mean to forget anyone.

I'm home and have spent the day cooking......lol.......like that was hard...not!...lol  I made pasties, about two dozen of them and I pigged out on two as soon as they came out of the oven.......they were so good and I haven't made them for years....I'll have to do it more often.  I saw my friend Junie on Tuesday and she says to tell you all she appreciated all the prayers that were said for her.  She is healing just fine and has her follow up visit with the specialist for final path report is today so I will hear possible over the weekend what the verdict is and I will let you all know.

I'm heading into the lounge with the fire....yeah, yeah I know it's hot over there but it's oh so cold hear today and I need a little warmth....fire, a whiskey and good friends......all that is required to keep a person warm inside and out!

    TITZ UP!!!!!!

Beanie-just trying to make every hour a happy hour here in the lounge!

DorK-YW re: split screen, try it when you have a little time. Once you've done it a couple times it goes really quick. I don't mind heat so much, but the humidity is supposed to be really high today, so I doubt I'll do much in the garden, will try to get some housework done instead. At least here in Maine the humid weather doesn't usually stay very long. And we will certainly load up the bus when you have your back done! We'll make sure you get treated royally! Of course you miss your girl, no one can lose a body part and not miss it sometimes.

Claire-good point about learning curve and adjustment. Got a whole new schedule to settle into, going to take more than 1 weekend! Thank goodness I work with a bunch of people who don't expect perfection from each other.

Wahine-I know just how hard concrete boat ramps can be. That's why I prefer launching from a beach-much softer landing. I can usually get in OK, but getting out? That is a very amusing process. I have bad knees so I can't just get up like most people, so the gyrations and shinanagans I go through have resulting in many splashes and much laughter floating across the water. . . Snakes eating golf balls, what a mental picture that gives me! I bet it's effective, if it works.

DorK-spellcheck? We have spellcheck? Does it recognize our special lounge language?

Junie-Love the pole dancing episode! I can just picture the whole thing! So glad you are having a wonderful visit with the g/daughts visit. Can't wait to see the pics!

Chrissy-um, the Murphys Repellant is to repel the Murphy of Murphy's Law fame. I've got to mix up some Tea Tree Oil and water to spray on to repel the bugs! Glad your friend is healing well, and still praying for good pathology reports!

    DOTD:  the Pole Dancer

     3/4 oz Mandarine Napoleon
    3 oz Champagne
    1 oz Orange Juice

    Directions
Stir the mandarine napoleon with orange juice and ice, briefly, and strain into a frosted champagne flute. Add the champagne, and serve.

Oh my, Junie it reallly does sound like you are having a ball!!! Sooooo very glad DD has matured and did not push any buttons. BUT so funny about the "pole dancing".....LOL! And NM posted such a cute pole dancing pic! How long will DD and the girls be there? I think your DH is home now, is that right? Any chance of going to Tunica? You are such a fantastic and fun fwiend, that I am so glad this visit went well. OH, and thanx again for hosting the HTL partay!!!

NM, Of course you hit the cartoons right on the head! Sorry it is so hard for you to get out of the kayak....my DH has lots of knee and joint probs, and I was surprised that so far he can get out of it ok. We have lots to learn, and still can't wait till we can BOTH use them together, but was just too tired last night, and then we will be at the casinos soon, so yakkity-yakking will be put on hold. Lucky you, that the humidity does not last long there. That is such a problem here, but so far it hasn't hit full force yet. When it gets really, really bad, then I hate to go outside!

Glad you got your oven clean, Claire! If I do ours often enough (self-clean cycle) then I don't have to do much, but maybe the window. However, our ex-tenant in the condo NEVER cleaned the new range we had just bought when she moved in. SO even with the self clean cycle, I had to do a lot of elbow grease. It had looked like she ruined the smooth top too, as she just let everything burn on it, but after lots of elbow grease there, AND using razor blades, it now looks like new! YAY. Its one thing to clean up after your own mess, but cleaning up after someone else it the PITS. I thought I was taking a chance w/ the razor blade, but felt I had no choice. Afterwards, I read the manual and it did say to use that! And what pissed me off was when we bought it, it was nicer than the one we had! But we did get our new one a few months ago, with the convection oven too. I just don't cook as much as I used to though.

CHrissy, Are "pasties" filled with meat? Seems like I saw lots of those there, and they would be sold in unrefrigerated display cases. I was surprised it would be ok like that, so didn't try any. I bet you are a great cook though,  and yours would be amazingly good! I wish you could make your pavlova and send it over the cyber-waves!!!

Kymn, Do you see us there with you? We got extra-teeny-tiny this time, cause it seemed like the nurses doing the chemo might have spotted us last time. OR maybe they heard our teeny-tiny drunken giggling as we were holding your hand. But we are right there with you, and helping you get through this. Hang in there, girlfriend!!!

Well, woke up late, and lots to do. I know I didn't get to all of you, but you all know I love you! Just wanted to say hi, and hope today will be a good one for all you girlzzzzzz.

ChEARS! chAIRS! Titz Up! Keep Murphy Away!!!!

Kathy I make my pasties filled with both meat and veg and yes, they are delicious!  I think I'll try the pavlova next week when I get back from the city.....again......it's time to have that BCC removed....I got my dates mixed up and thought it was two weeks away.....but noooo ....not so.  I have an appt with the spec on Tuesday morning as it is a holiday here on Monday and then surgery is at 8.00am on Wednesday.  I'm guessing I'll be good to come home again on Thursday so the Pav will have to wait until then.  I am so sick of doc's appts!

    Hi Everyone,

This is my first post,  I had fun reading previous post and admiring everyones enthusiasm and fun loving adventures.  I want to try kayaking and was pleased to learn how to enter a kayak without tipping!!!  I love to look at the water put do not like to be under the water...

I love my Korbel Champagne, not for celebrating a special occation (although that is fun) but just for the heck of it, celebrating life.  I was diagnosed one year ago and was hesitant to resume my bubbly drink of choice but I rationalize that drinking while taking Tamoxifen will be OK.  Planning on having total hysterectomy at the end of the month thereby decreasing estrogen production all the more...

I work in a school, looking forward to the summer.  10 more days, but who is counting

Glad to be part of this group

Hi Deb and welcome to the HTL (Hot Tatties Lounge) and of course to BCO.  Sorry you need to be here but glad you found us.  Come and join me in the pool, we have a swim up bar so we don't even have to get out.  Oh the tenders are JoCkS and PaNtS and they will give you a dring or a massage or both depending on your mood.  Heard you say you like something bubbly? Well to celebrate your arrival I'll get the boys to break out the champagne!  JoCkS!!!!  Two glasses of your best and keep ém coming!!!  Here's to you Deb!!!

I'll second that welcome to Deb! Glad you decided to join us, as we are a crazy, fun, silly, fun, drinking, fun (did I mention fun?) group! Good escape from bc for awhile. I love Korbel champagne too, and if I am having regular bubbly, that is what I choose. But lately I like the sweeter (asti) bubbly, so even Cook's had a good asti spumante which is less $ that Korbel. Also last year I discovered Moscati, and like just the wine as well as the Moscati Asti. Raising a glass of the bubbly, along with Chrissy, to welcome you here!

OH and maybe, just maybe, we can convince Chrissy to bring some of her pavlova to the lounge, after her appt next week. Yummmmmmmmm.........

Hmmmmmm.......pavlova and champagne.  Now there is an idea.  Just need to wait for local WA strawberries.

Welcome Deb.  Your BCO name reminds me of the cycling tours I did of Block Island with my ex husband.  Just gorgeous and so fun.

I can still see the route and ferry ride in my head.

And then clams and beer on the Pt Judith side prior to the drive home.  But a long day with a three hour drive each way. - Claire

Thanks for the welcome Chrissy, Wahine and Claire.  I will be trying out the Moscati, maybe tonight.  Going out with the girls from work for dinner and drinks!!!!

Claire you are right,  I have a summer home at Pt. Judith, Narragansett, just down the road from Iggy's and Aunt Carrie's.  Best chowder and clam cakes YUMMMY!!!  The weather has been perfect for a day at the beach watching the wind and surf.  There are usually a handfull of surfers off the point.

I have not gone to Block Island yet this year, usually make it a day adventure sometime during the summer.  We go to Ballard's, listen to the band and relax with all the tourists.

Wahine, I love your quote, do you know where it is from?
