Beacher ah the benefit of drugs!!!! I just want to be comfortable and not have my TE or my arm constantly reminding me that I am a work in progress!!!! What do you have planned for the weekend? Anything special? I want to get out for a nice long bikeride since I wont be able to do that for a while!

jkz.... yeah for you. Love hearing how Beacher and Suebee are so darn excited about your upcoming exchanges on Monday. I remember that feeling when I got so close to my first exchange.... I was sooo ready! I will be right behind you next Wednesday. Just want to get on with it and start the healing process so I can get back to my regular activities. I spent last summer going through chemo and am so enjoying a better time this summer. I am going on a big bike ride this weekend for sure.0

Hear, hear, Joan!!!

Yup... last summer was the lost summer.

Hey everyone- I just had my revision- kind of like a 2nd exchange! This time my (new) PS swapped out my implants for smaller ones and then did micro fat grafting over everything. What a difference! I was having the revision due to pain from a CC developing but I got so much more! With the smaller implants my pec muscles don't seem so tight and they don't contort as much. I was having issues with lots of rippling and that's gone. The skin over the breasts used to be cold and now it's warm. I can no longer feel the implants right under the skin. It looks, and more importantly, feels like natural breast tissue. It was hard to decide to have another surgery but I am so glad I did. Everything feels so much better now! I just posted new photos on the picture forum if anyone is interested!

Kate33--Brave you! glad you had good results.
Swimming? Bike Riding? are you actually swimming with your arms???? How long did you have to wait to do that?
Same with biking.... how long did you guys have to wait after exchange????
I can't do anything like that right now with these darn TEs.

Rowan I have been able to bike for a couple of months now.....but I do have to say this last time (a week after last fill) my shoulders got tight. I also do Zumba but have been a little less agressive with my arms as I get bigger. I would love to start swimming again....wonder how long about THAT!
Kate - yeah for you! Cant wait to see the results!
My 550 TE is on the forum now....it was the last over expansion before exchange on Monday if you care to see.

Suebee --I'm amazed. Just bumps in a car ride are painful for me, I can't imagine riding a bike right now. Just a question--does the 550 mean size, as in cc's?
All this talk about expansion and profile--I asked my PS last time if she overfilled and she said I didn't need it because I have enough skin. Also she said she would probably use the high profile on me because I have no breast tissue and that she uses the lower profile ones for augmentation. She also only uses Mentor.
I was satisfied with her answers, does all that make sense to you guys?

Yes Rowan I agree....I learned here and from my PS that High Profile is preferred for reconstructions. And if your PS isnt overfilling because you have enough skin, that sounds fine too. Im starting out with little extra skin since I was pretty small chested and am going for a C now. I can absolutely see the benefits of overfilling FOR ME so things will be softer later.
And yes, 500 is ccs. I have a 350 volume TE and its expanded to 550 now....100ccs more than the projected implant size. Have you been to the photo forum? It may help you out visualizing all of this.

Sue - just checked out your pictures - you look AWESOME. I bike ride too and have 450ccs, not too big to be a bother, but to look good in clothes etc. And they are soooo much softer - you will be happy
.Hugs, Valerie

Rowan, sounds reasonable. I have no breast tissue after BMX and got exchanged 7 days ago. I have Mentor HPs in me and the projection is far less than TE's. My PS used a size larger than I even considered, yet I don't have the stripper boob look. I think it is because of lack of tissue that makes projection less.
I am thrilled with the results and I know it will only get better. The cancer side still has a flat area, but once everything settles in, I hope it will fill out. If not, I know my PS can do a minor revision with fat grafting. The implants feel soft, warm and really nice!0 -
Suebee--I am in the process of getting on the forum. I guess I am just little all around although I never thought of myself that way. PS says she thinks I will end up a "C" but I understand that is more width than "stick out"--how's that for a term? I'm 5' 4" about 140lbs so I am not exactly tiny.in I think my fills have only amounted to 200cc's. They were 50ccs each time, that's why I gasp everytime I read everybody else's big numbers.

Slinky--thanks for the reassurance.

Valerie thanks SO MUCH!!!!

Rowan its hard to judge when youre getting 50 at a time. Its good to go slow, but I didnt feel like I looked like much of anything until I was around 400....then I started feeling better. It blows my mind to hear some who have 400 put in at surgery but then I remember that they have more skin to work with than I did.

rowan - I'm coming upon a year post-exchange at the end of July. Just this week is the first time I've attempted swimming. I don't own a bike but I ride stationary bikes at the gym. It was 3-4 months before I could put my arms on a standing up stationary bike. I rode incumbent bikes up until that time. My PS didn't want my walking on treadmill for six weeks post-exchange, the only thing he said I could do was ride an incumbent bike. Got so sick of riding it!
But it was at least something!I've had more pain than is normal, I think. So don't use me as a model for you. It's possible to swim, ride bikes ... it just takes time! If you have mobility problems after your exchange ... ask for a referral to a PT or OT. They work wonders!

Kelly, I just read where you said your exchange hurt more than your MX? Ladies, is that typical?? Now I am a little freaked out. I thought the exchange was supposed to be easy??

rowan.... I am sure that everyone heals differently but I was back in action 3-4 weeks after my first exchange surgery. I was in pretty good shape physically before the surgery so that may have helped, but I was back playing tennis and cycling about 3 weeks after surgery. PS gave me permission. I started in the pool with a water Tai Chi class that was just too boring but did give me the confidence to start moving my arms again. Now I do more agressive pool exercises, but not ready to do a breast stroke. I also went back to golf two months after surgery. Everything is in tack. Just in time for my next exchange.0

3-4 weeks! Holy crap, I thought recovery was like a week! I cannot take off more than a week from work for my exchange. Is that going to be enough??

Just a note ... I was in great shape before my surgeries... my lag time had nothing to do with being in shape. Before my DMX I did weight training 3x a week with a trainer, walked 5 miles a day, did Pilates 2x a week. Looking back, I think I had some post-MX-pain-syndrome. It's taken me a lot longer to come back but I'm getting back there. Again, it may take time, may take some physical therapy ... but you'll get there!

Hi ladies, I have a few questions:
1-some of u have had lipo during ur surgery... Did they do it anywhere else then by ur foobs/underarms / sides??? I read someone had it on their belly? If so how & was it covered As part of ur surgery?
2- is their a bra forum that I don't know abt?
3- fat grafting & micro fat grafting.. Wat is this ?
Thx!!!0 -
Fearless One.. I am pretty sure you will be more than ready to go back to work in a week... maybe less. I think recovering from the anesthesia will be the biggest hurdle to that. I don't know what type of work you do, but I was back working the next day from my home office. Just not jumping up and down and running any marathons..... my house is a virtual Stairmaster... on four levels.0

Fearless_One - I think joan888 meant before she could get back into the gym and her normal activities. It depends on your job ... but as long as you're not lifting ten pounds or doing a lot of reaching you should be fine within in a week. Again, just no heavy lifting or reaching for a few weeks.

Thanks, Joan....it's just a desk job, so hopefully I will not need much time.

Dawne, I didn't realize - I only had skimmed some of the pages. I feel a little better now!
Now what about the paiin factor right after surgery? I know they send you home that day, right? So it must not be that bad or they would keep you?

Tinkerbell99 - Yes, there is a bra forum. It's called: Bras 101: The Great Post-Exchange Debate. Lots of good information on there!

Tinkerbell- I had lipo on my stomach (and hips and thighs) but they were using the fat to cover the implant. And, yes, insurance paid for it!
Estepp- Thanks! I haven't been on here in awhile. I love your photo! So cute!!!!!!!
