Tink I will be there with you too and making you laugh this shit off!!!  All is good my friend!

Update on Dad, back in the hospital!  Long story short he fell on Monday night as he was cold and going to turn the heat on, he tripped over his oxygen cord.  Well when he fell he cracked open his head at 8:30 at night and could not move even though he has the call alert on his neck he never called for help.  Instead he lay there lying in his own blood till 3:00 in the morning when he went to the bathroom which in his delirious state of mind he never pulled his pants down, so needless to say he soiled his pants and then put himself to bed for the night and slept till 8:30.  My sister called him to see what he thought of the Bruins game playoffs and he had no idea what she was talking about and she asked him so many questions and his answers were just so  off, so she rushed over to find him dazed sitting at the kitchen table.  Blood everywhere along with him sitting in dirty soiled clothes.  He was rushed to the hospital and all the test they did on him were fine, however in the middle of last night he took a turn for the worse and ended up in ICU.  So we are once again waiting to see how he does....god my heart aches and I feel like I just cannot catch a break as my Mom now is supposed to undergo a surgical procedure and it is highly dangerous with her condition.  I hate to complain as I know we have all had our share of shit lately, I just thought I would pop on and update you gals as you have all been very supportive and great friends.....I love you all and hope and pray everyone is well.

Sandee, thanks for your sweet words. How great is 'boring?' Wishing you luck with your ankle but again, as long as it stays just a normal ache we can deal, right? You have been through heart issues. Glad you are back onthe treadmill.

Tink, good luck at your appts. I know just the word appt makes ma anxious now but on the other hand once its over you may have a good stretch of time before you have to go back! Let us know how it goes. Will be thinking about you.

June, wow, thats a rough situation. Very hard. Wishing you the strength to hold up through it. Sounds good that you at least have sibs to help each ther. Do you all live near each other? Near your parents? Will think of them in my prayers.

Tink, save room for me too.

June, My prayers are with you and your family.  Both DH and I have walked in your shoes caring for an elderly parent who lived alone, both parents had falls that left them on the floor all night and disoriented the next morning.  More than 30 years later I can still feel that heart ache.  May both your Mother and Father be blessed by the Lords healing touch and may and your family be granted the strength you so need.

June - Sweetie.  This is the place to vent - you certainly are not complaining.  My prayers are with you and your family.  Hope Dad gets better and your mom gets through her procedure with no problems and speedy recoveries for both.  (((HUGS))).

Tink - Ready for takeoff anytime.  I will be on your right shoulder.

Tink - hope all goes well today! I don't know how your wings can flap enough to keep you aloft with all those people in your pocket! Maybe you are using a spare pair?

Oh, June! My heart is breaking for you! My father lived alone and we went through so much of the same stuff - like chabba says, my heart still aches years later. Sending lots of prayers up for your mom and dad and you and your family! Don't worry about talking about this with us - when it's our parents that are suffering, it's harder on us that our own problems.  (((June)))

    Hi Ladies

Hope you all enjoyed the flight as we are back home safe and sound. Thank you all for being with me today.

All went well. My Breast surgeon said all looked good she did an ultrasound to make sure the fat necrosis was just that and said it didnt looked suspicious at all but was calling my PS to make sure he tested it when he removed it next month. Onc said all was well too and reiterated the importance of staying on the Tamoxifen. Offered efferox to me again and I said not at this point and she said said ok well call me anytime you change your mind. She said after 18 months of Tamoxifen she will do a bone density test, so that isnt until next year some time. I go back to her in 6 months for a check up and breast surgeon in a year... so all is well.... thank you all.... hugs!!!!!!

Shari - It sure does seem like this is a team effort here.   I would not have made it this far without all the love and support from these great ladies.

June ~ so sorry to hear of your dad's fall and turn for the worse.  Praying he pulls through.  Thinking of you and sending you hugs !

Tink ~ great news !  So glad all went well today.  Whew !

Jo ~ hope you are feeling good.

They are scheduling a bone scan for me being I have had this tail bone pain for about 4 weeks, and I see my breast surgeon next week.  That's all for me.  Week 3 on the effexor really tired but feeling a bit better emotionally.  They say it takes a good 5-6 weeks for the full effect to kick in.  I'm plugging along.

    Hugs girls !

Tink you must be so relieved, go out and celebrate!

Question for you gals, has anyone been told they have osteoarthritis after being on tamoxifen? My knee has been bothering me for a couple weeks. My doctor x-rayed both knees and says I have moderate osteoarthritis. I've never before had a problem with this before, I'm wondering if it is T-related?

Have a follow up appt with my family doctor tomorrow.  Nothing related to BC.  Time for refills on my blood pressure and cholesterol meds. Basically a routine visit.  Going to ask him if he will do the management of my pain meds.  With so many appts this month, this will be one more I can cross off my list.  Still have 3 more this month - Monday is my 4 month follow up with the MO, Tues is my gyn - will get the results of my hysteroscopy D & C  and then on the 28th my BS - hoping this will be my last appt with him.  If everything goes well the rest of the month, I should be appt free for 4 months - now that would be something to celebrate.

Sherry - Doesn't it feel good to not have the appts?  I almost forgot what it was like to just see my family doctor every 3 months and the annual mammo & pap.

June- so sorry to hear about your dad...scary for sure....your sister was smart following her instincts when he was not coherent....my aunt broke her hip years ago and was not found for 2 days....she did not have a call button...she managed another 10 years though.....tough old salt.Your dad also sounds tough...hang in there....and what is the news on your mom??

tink- relieved to hear all went well!!!!! We are all coming along just fine!

Alicia- yay!!! the pills are working! Thank goodness!

Jo - smart idea to have one doc manage things....gets too frustrating having to go all over the place. I have physio at one place next tues am, blood tests tomorrow or early in the week, chiro at a different location on the Friday and need to make a dentist appointment soon....but all 'normal' appointments...jusy seeems like tooooo many!

greenarch- yep... an out' hip and ankle is preferabe to a heart issue and you are right...I forget i twas only 12 weeks ago...I feel somuch more like me these days that it is hard to remember it was only a short while ago...

Visited our student again in the hospital...he has gone from a medically indusced coma (they now think his condition was brought on by a virus he picked up on hooilday in Cuba) to walking down the hallway and talking up a storm! Said he likes spagetti sauce when I asked what he wanted so...the sauce is now bbbling on the stove and will soon be ready to pu taway until tomorrow's visit!

    Gmorning ladies.

Surfette and alicia, i have all kinds of joint and bone pains that started w tamoxifen. Hip pain was the worst and dr diagnosed acute bursitis and gave me a shot of cortizone ditectly into the hip which was magic. In fairness i had had minor hip pain there once before so its possible that tam just exacerbated it. Just got zometa IV for the second time since dx. That seems to really up the joint pain which had been subsiding. Motrin seems to help a lot. Alicia, i am glad that the efflexor is helping. I am tmpted to take it as my hot flashes are wicked since i started the lupron shots. Also not sure about the moodiness. It is not deep depression which i know can render you almost motionless, but i am so weepy lately. My daughter is going through puberty and i swear we are like bookends on some hormonal timeline, she at the beginning and me at the end, both of us howling! Yesterday was my anniversary and tho i love my hus very much i was a basket of mush all day. Crying about all that has happened this past year. Not all bad, he has been there for me and i think we are closer even, just sad too, at how different things are since my innocent anniversary last year. All of these events, bdays, holidays, get me going. Good news is that after a good cry i pick myself up and feel better. Also know that it all could have been so much worse and theres much to be grateful for.

    June, how are your parents?

Jo i know what you mean about dr visits. I have two more at the end of june and then taking july off!

Let me know when we are starting the kitchen!

SherryC, good luck w the PS. Pm me when you want re the other method.

Good wkend. Going to Jerusalem w husband (alone!no kids) for little anniversary getaway.

    All the best, shari

Morning all.  June Im sorry to hear about you dad.

The tamoxifen is messing with my joints for the last few days.  The pain can be entense sometimes.  I had issues with pain while I did the taxol and I hated it.  Its the same with the tamoxifen.  I was hoping to put that part of BC behind me.  But no, thats not happening.  Its really got me down.  I feel like its been 1 step forward and now that step has stalled.  I go to the Onc next friday, so I hope to get some answers there.  I just hope this is temporary and that this too shall pass.

Shari enjoy your trip!  Its nice to get away without the kids.  LOL on the howling.  It was the same around here.  For some reason my DD had it in for her dad whenever she was howling.  Then whenever she calmed down it was time for my howling.  Poor guy!  Im surprised he has suck around for 22 yrs for the howling.

Have a good day all.  TGIF Im ready for the weekend.  Its gonna be a busy one for me.  Have a birthday party to go to on Saturdaay and Sunday is fathers day at my sissys house.
