Bear is panting hard....we went for a short walk a bit ago...but had to pick up the pace home as it started to rain and then marble size hail...didn't really get wet.....not much rain though so glad I fed and watered my flowers....told DS that he had to water them (no sprinkler anymore in the back or for hanging baskets) when I'm gone and DH is visiting DD#1 and SIL...Still no job for DS....he told me today that he doesn't need any help with job hunting!!!!!  well, I beg to differ, but who am I to argue with him (I was asking him about following up...)...DH offered to pay DS to paint the outside of the house...and he asked how much, $10/hour?  DH is willing to pay him as long as he does a good job as we would pay someone else to paint if DS doesn't do it....DD#2 gave DH vodka shot glasses that came with wood frame and holder....I got him a bottle of Beluga vodka (he doesn't drink vodka often though) and some good IPA's....DS also got him beer....What can I say, DH favorite things are good music and good drinks...the beer will last a while and the vodka probably all year!!!  he's not a tie or clothes type of guy....and lately he has been restoring old stereo equipment....

I've been copying lots of his music CD's to put on my iPod......got all mine done again!!!  have about 20 hours of music so far......

Not started packing yet...DD is pretty much done....I figure I'll pack tomorrow.....she has a friend sleeping over so her bags are in the spare room, so no room for mine as well....a few of the skirts I want to take need to be washed....will do that tomorrow night and figure out what to wear on Tuesday...something I'm not taking.....One of my new favorite skirts got a big rip in it by the placket...dont think it can be fixed...will take a quick peek at Goodwill tomorrow to see if there is anything I can't pass up...Mondays are 25% for age 55+....

Still haven't confirmed the rental accommodations....I keep putting it off....my gf place is still available.....the biggest problem is shabbat....may see if I can find housing for shabbat and just commute back and forth....Sure wish I could just make up my mind!!!!!

Trying to make a list of what I need to do the next 2 days so I don't forget any necessary errands.....

Going to go see if DH will help me put the futon cover back on the futon....Be back later...cheers!!!

Oh DorK, are you being a party-pooper? Or a pooper-party???? J/K....I know how much you need your rest with all the work you are doing! Sleep tight, pleasant dweams!

Here are pics I took last week, walking by the lake in our subdivision, that we kayak on....just shows part of it, as it turns and goes by more houses, etc. Sorry, I tried to resize them smaller, and only got some of them, and some teeny tiny! The marshy area is the spilloff from the lake, but thats where I saw baby turtles today, the snakes, herons, ducks, fish, etc.

    Snake swimming in marshy area....

Marshy area (spills over here from lake)...see the beavers?

Closeup of mama beaver (just swam up) and 2 babies(they looked like rocks, as their fur was dry & covered in algae)..

Baby Heron standing in nest (parents were on shore of lake)...

Two other birds...one that is gray w/ red and flies like a duck, but not sure what it is....

So all this is just around the corner! And thats why the snakes scare me so much....just a few feet from the boat ramp!

Oops looks like I bumped into Beans and Karen...sawwy....took me forever to post this!

Love it, but water snakes creep me out.  Can you get the birds to "fish" for them??

Just so gorgeous though.  Love the beavers.  I used to swim in a beaver pond.  I once swam down past their house at dusk and they swam around me.  Just magical.

Kayaking through this sounds like the most fab time.  Understand why you love it so much.

Had a steak with good cab for dinner tonight.  YUM!!!

Still recovering from 20 years of deprivation as ex-DH loathed steak.  So make it often now. - Claire

Must have been so neat to swim with the beavers! We just kayak on the lake, not in the marshy/swampy area. But sidewalk and walk bridges go betwn lake and marsh, so the swimming snake was not on the lake side. STILL everyone says there are tons of snakes in the lake, so I keep my eye out for them! And the one in the pic looked quite young. Tried to show the snakes in the dens of rocks (2 areas), but couldn't get good pics of them, then this one swam out from the rocks really, really fast. Didn't see any in the lake (yet), and the herons flew off every time we got close to them! Funny how we have lived here for years, and prob had some years that we never even walked by the lake. So I am glad we are enjoying it, finally! But other than a couple of fishermen on the shore, and walkers/joggers, there wasn't anyone on the lake.

OUCH!!!!   I just rolled over in my hammock and got speared by my missing crown!!   Fess up!----WHO hid it in MY hammock!    What a fun, fun BD party--you all are the greatest!

So much to comment on, so will just rattle off what I can remember.....NM!!!   As always, so enjoy your posts/cartoons; so perfect for what is going on!   Curious, as to what statue you posted of the headless toga person?

The neighbor and his new squeeze....sigh.....but have seen that happen more than once.  One of the strangest was years ago, an older friend who had been divorced for many years had another friend who was in the hospital and not expected to live.    My friend went to see her on one of her last days and this lady introduced my friend to her husband.   And, proceeded to tell my friend how much she admired her, had always looked up to her and....would she marry her husband and take care of him!   My friend and the husband were dumbfounded; they didn't even know each other.   Sure enough, the lady died a couple days later and after a couple weeks, her husband called my friend.   They did go out a couple times but my friend found the whole situation to be sooo creepy and she wsn't attracted to the guy at all.    Anyways, strange things happen.....

Glad that Chrissy's trip is getting closer....and glad that DorK will be one of her first stopovers.then, Chissy will make it down near me and I am going to get to meet our Chrissy, too!   Can't wait!!!

Kymn--hang tough--you're almost finished, and yes--that fatigue just builds and builds but does eventually fade away.Don't remember but guessing next step is rads???   That will be tiring too, but much better than cheo.

Junie...hope your b'day was everything that you wanted and more....enjoying my 2nd (or is it 3rd) glass of red wine....as soon as I'm done, I'm going to get into bed and read, though doubt I'll get much reading done.....trying to keep a running list of things that I need to do the next 2 days.....have 3 appts over the next 2 days but otherwise, its errands and packing.....can't believe I leave on Wednesday...of course the first week is visiting DD and SIL and then my parents....but I leave for Israel in 10 days....just realized this afternoon that its only 8 months since I came back...DH commented that both DS and I have been there twice....Sweet dreams...see everyone tomorrow......Hugs, Karen

DorK, I don't use the green tree, I just copy and paste, and I have not had any problems logging in, which is usually just once, in the morning. And I must say, NO ONE better not lock you out. If they do, I will get YOUR PEOPLE after them! Oops, sorry....Heather is Kittycat (I see now, you have figured that out). And DOTD was set up ahead of time by NM, She had a drink for Fri, Sat. and Sun. So neat that you and Chrissy will get to visit, and I love your cotton ball. Maybe we all should wear one

Haha Chrissy on your drink! Glad you are healing and hope you are not in much pain. Can't imagine a cotton ball stitched on! Seems like it would just stick to everything. NM, can you comment?

Kathy, I swear....I've never seen anyone with so many problems in the house, GHEESH! I have not ever had anyone call on us due to someone else's debts, what's up with that? Great advice from DorK on that one. And I love your "glistening", I myself was glistening all weekend! I'm ready to party with NM too. I can not take credit for the Cunuck Truck, I copied it from a FB friend that is Canada. Someone from here, in a group that I would have been in, had I joined when I started chemo, instead of when I was almost done with radiation! Well, anyways....they all had bonded and I really didn't fit in, but had made friends with a couple of them on FB and talk to them on occasion there. I love your pictures, so pretty. Please don't resize, then we couldn't see them well, not like we will run out of pages to post!

Astorm, such a bizarre situation with your neighbor and glad you tried to set things straight with your DD's and your pathology. Have fun with your windy friends!

WOW Kymn, that was some nap! Evidently you needed it. ONE MORE, then you are DONE!

Love fruit stand cartoon and the "sheatery"  NM! I too am AARP member. Don't like to admit it, but there are a few perks. If you go to their website, I believe there is a list of places that offer discounts to members.

Karen, you sound so frazzled yet together! I can't imagine packing for that long of a trip. Oh wait.......I did! Had to spend 6 weeks in Tulsa for radiation treatments. I hope your son takes you up on the painting job and glad you didn't get caught up in the hail, that would have hurt!

(whoa, my computer, just out of nowhere went into hibernation! I thought I lost my post, so glad I didn't as I would not have re-posted)

Well time to get ready for work. We got a little videoing in over the weekend, yesterdays winds were just horrific. So glad I have the Shady Lady to work in. If you stood outside for any length of time, you got a mouthful of dirt...YUK! But I did get a lot of flowers planted in containers and our new elevated raised bed is awesome, I LOVE IT! I'll post a pic of it soon. This is what they look like, but this is not mine (just one we have on our website)

Happy NOT Monday, hugs and drinks around.

LOL Lori.....Happy "NOT Monday" to you too!!! See what you started, Dork??? I love all the contributions we all make here. And I agree with you, loved NM's "sheatery", but forgot to comment. Some of the calls are from irresponsible stepdau's bad credit....and she called last night and said she is getting married this morning (whats up wid dat?)! This is the one that was going to get married in January, and we were so glad they DIDN'T get married....she does cause us a lot of stress, need I say more? I'll keep you posted. Yucko on gettnig mouthful of dirt with all that wind! Would love to see your raised flower bed! DH has a raised garden area and right now the tomatoes are really ripening. Unfortunately the one pic I downsized soooo small of the lake, has a duck in it, but you can't see it now (small speck in the middle...lol). OK...I will try not to downsize them so small in the future! Hope you can finish that video today!!!

Karen, Wish your son was here...$10/hr for painting would be a great price....if he is a neat painter, that is! I would hire him. Still painting outside, but just doing 30min-1 hr at a time...washing my brush out constantly, as I do it several times a day. Good luck with all your packing, and things you need to get done!

Junie, Yeah, so weird about the dying friend asking her friend to marry her husband! I had something a bit similar when I was a decorator....had gone to a home to do a consultation, and met the homeowner, and her best friend was there too. We all hit if off, and I don't know if she had some terminal illness or not (didn't look like it), but she told me, in front of her friend, that if something happened to her, I would be perfect for her husband. Took me by surprise....what can you say to that? I was single at the time, but hey, I like the old-fashioned way of meeting, and falling in love first...LOL. When do your next visitors come to the B&B??

Have a good day girls! DH and I are a bit sore (well...a LOT sore) today from all that kayaking yesterday. What kept us going, was knowing we had some mugs chilling in the freezer, and some Shock Top beer waiting on us (with orange slice, of course). I think next time we might take some beer with us (shhhhh!).

    Happy NOT Monday,

    Kath

Ooookay NM. I'll get the AARP card if it gets me a discount in the tasting room.

Mmm, brisket. That sounds yummy, Kathy. I made a Greek feast for my visiting friends. She was part of a large group that DH used to hang out with before everyone started getting married and/or moving away. When they visit they always make time for us which is really sweet because our kids got to know each other too. It was really fun seeing them but I think I had a leetle too much wine cuz I was hot and couldn't sleep last night. I'm reserving one of the hammocks for an afternoon nap. Nice pics - I especially like the heron! HBD to your DD.

Junie - sorry bout the crown... that wasn't very nice but I will be needing that hammock.

Claire - Sounds like a good call. I fell down the stairs once and broke my ankle but it was really swollen and they assumed a sprain and didn't bother to x-ray. We were at a family event and when I got home 2 days later I went to the doc and he found the small fracture. I had to stop running for a while but mostly I remember the terrible pain before they gave me meds. I went into the clinic begging them to put me out! (And this from a woman who has done natural child birth twice.)

Good Morning, Loungettes! (YAWN) Got back home at 4 AM--the sun was coming up fer cryin' out loud! Caught a nap, got up around 7, sat down to listen to the news, next thing I knew it was almost 10 am. Still tired, but it's a beautiful day and I'm going to get out and play in the garden, and try to get a meal plan and shopping list together, do some grocery shopping. Been a while since I pulled an all nighter and I am feeling it. But I can see from the condition of the Lounge and poolside that I'm the only one who's been up all night!

Wahine--Sounds like the brisket was fabulous! And isn't it fun what you can see from a kayak? The loading and unloading is the hard part, but you'll quickly figure out some easier ways to manage. I've got a little 2 wheel gizmo that I can pull the ‘yak on if I have to take it any distance:

    DorK--Pleasant dreams and no hangovers!

Beanie--Merlots are one of my favorites. Makes weeding even more fun.

Karen--OUCH! Even small hail HURTS! Packing, partying, presents, procrastination--sounds like a normal pre-trip situation to me. I'm sure you'll get it all together.

Wahine--GREAT pics! That snake would freak me out, too!

Claire--ah, steak, something I need to put on my grocery list, and getting gas for the grill needs to go on my errands list. Thanks for reminding me! Swimming with beavers must have been a wonderful experience.

Junie--Happy Day after Birthday! Or is Happy Day after Day after Birthday? Happy one, anyway! The headless statue was wearing a wet toga, but I don't think it showed very well. Poor energizer Bunny, she's just gotten so run down.

Goldie--I've heard of sewing a button onto either side of a dog's ear after lancing a boil to keep it from fillling up again, but a cotton ball on top of an ear? That's a new one on me.

Now we need a good after party DOTD.  How about an All Nighter?

    1/2 oz Vodka
    1/2 oz Coconut Rum
    1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur
1/2 oz Dark Creme de Cacao
    4 oz Pineapple Juice
2 oz Sweet and Sour Mix

    Directions
Mix all together in hurricane glass. Shake well. Garnish-orange flag.

Yummy NM....the All Nighter dwink sounds really good...I like all the ingredients....and maybe we will all be sweetly asleep (passed out?) or having a big yawn like the doggie in the pic. Never heard of sewing buttons to dogs ears! What a strange sight, but sounds like it WOULD work...boy I still learn things every day from you galz. I was wondering about the wheeled dolly for the yaks.....I think it is $80 at Dick's, but if you think it is easier with that, we may consider it. We got $65 back from them since both yaks went on an even better sale after we bought them. Might even start leaving them at my parents house, if we alter the "seawall" with a step so we can get in from their yard. Otherwise I would not want to step on the rocks on the otherside of the seawall, as there could be snakes there. Did I mention my dad found one in their front yard a couple of days before they left? Eeecccckkkkkkkkkk.

Gail, The greek feast sounds yummmmmmmmmy! The brisket recipe I adapted from Claire's and Karen's recipes was also partly from a "Jewish Grandma's" recipe. But I love Greek food also. You and Karen and Claire are such good cooks...makes me hungry! I love the baby heron pic too....so many times "it" is flappng its wings, so maybe it will soon leave the nest. But we have only seen the 2 adults, so hoping some others will come here, or "baby" might not find a mate. I have a pic of the adult heron in my parents yard, looking in the lake for a fish, and also in the marshy area, in a part covered with water lilies.

Yup, just got a call from stepdau, they are getting married at the courthouse in a few minutes...I would think if she wanted her dad to be there she would have told him a time ahead of time...or picked a time he could be there too. Not sure if this is gonna work! She is very immature and he is about 15 yrs younger.....auwe!

    OK....off to start working!

Bottoms Up! But leave the togas on!

Astorm - I am still horrified over this man having a girlfriend (and possibly a child) while his wife was dying.  I feel really bad for his kids, who need some love and guidance after losing their mother at such a young age.  Hopefully his wife is haunting him and creating some havoc!!!  Ugh!

Some of these togas are CRAZY!!!  I think I'll stick with the big sheet.  LOL!!!

    Hi all,

I'm back from taking my son up to camp! We stopped off at two beaches which were wonderful except when there was a family with two long hair dashcund puppies and I totally lost it. Just sobbed with my poor kids not having any idea how to help me. It was just horrible. I think I have finally figured out that I'm depressed and whether it was the loss of Liesl or if she was just the part that sent me over the edge - not sure. I kept finding myself being irritable and short with the kids over just nothing. And here we were at the beach (my favorite place in the world - beautiful weather) and I'm just angry and miserable. Not good.

Kathy I think I'm going up to tie you on house problems. So many don't want to go there but then figuring out at least two have totally ripped me off.

Happy belated Birthday Junie!! Hope it was grand.

Before I left I went to my PS to have the pillow fat removed under my arms which he says got caught when he tunneled the muscle. So we talked about doing the lipo so I asked since I hate the fake nipples and areola he did - one it is totally flat and even worse I have a dress which I didn't normally wear a bra with or bathing suits well instead of having no nipple which would be alright no I have those horrible freaky circles! As the nipple are areola are so sunken. Well I asked if the fat could be injected behind to try and give the breasts a more normal look. Then I have a dent on the left side which if the fat was gone on the sides would also be gone. Finally I have this ridge across my chest - he said it is where I stop and the implants begin. He said I could go larger - No Way! or he could inject fat to cover the ridges. He said half will dissolve but the rest should stay. but the one risk is sometimes it can form lumps but he said it should be enough to have that happen. So I'm already to schedule and he says - oh insurance won't cover it! kathy remember I said my PS said it would. Well now he has totally changed. My question is why? I got so upset I started crying in his office - so embarrassed. First time my cousin wasn't with me - figures. She looked back at her notes and agreed he had told me it would be covered. He said something like well as soon as insurance sees lipo then No coverage. Then he said if there was so unsightly scar or I wanted to be bigger that all would be covered. HUH? So upset with this as I was hoping to pay my deductibe on this one so I could finally have my nose fixed so I can breath - now I'd have to pay the deductibe - 5k out of pocket!!! plus the all the breast and any that is deemed cosmetic on the nose which I can't possibly do. I even kept my deductible lower this year just so I could have these procedures done. So now don't know what to do.

Having pool, roof, fireplace, falling guest house step problems, and a 500.00 water bill when I have a well?? What on earth? Gosh so glad I cam home.....

Sorry to barge in and complain and vent but looks like that is where I am at the moment - vent or cry one of the two and I'm worn out with crying..... Oh, and ordered a drink at the beach and it was really awful and cost 12.00? How can someone mess up a drink.... Thank goodness for the HTL!

Stanzie, First of all, here is a BIG (((hug))) from me, and I know the others are standing in line behind me to have their turn to give you hugs too. Second, I think we can spare either Pants or Jocks (take your pick) and let them pamper you with massages, etc. (NO, I don't want to know whatever "etc." that you choose...lol). Keep him as long as needed. Third, That totally sucks that you have had people rip you off....really makes me mad, as it happens to us all the time too, and it so isn't fair. I mean, you get estimates for supposedly good work, you pay what is agreed upon, but then they either do shoddy work, or ruin things, etc. I totally sympathize with you. And now your PS wants to charge, when he first said insurance would pay? What my PS did, for the removal of the "pillpws" at the sides, was "harvest" some fat from there and inject it where there was a dent. He also says ins will not cover lipo, but since he referred to it as "harvesting" or something, that it was covered, but only for that area. I didn't really have any lipo though, just the bit they took from the "pillows" at the sides. I think if he could have done lipo, the results would have been much better, but it is better than it was before. Maybe your PS could do what he thinks will be covered, plus a bit of "harvesting" to fill in the dent? I am so sorry this is happening. Yes, losing Liesl could have been the "last straw", OR it could be all the other $hit that has been happening too. Plus, I think going through menopause gets us a bit depressed too....losing all those hormones, DOES have a big effect on our mood. Vent here whenever you need to, we are all here for each other. HERE.....a better drink than you had at the beach, and you don't have to pay anything for it.... *handing over nice large dwink*. Hang in there, girl!

Glad you have some sun now, Kymn! We have had tooo much....upper 90's again, very close to 100, so I just paint till I am drippng with sweat (I mean till I am "glistening"), then come inside, dry off....wait till paint is dry outside, and repeat......I feel like a drowned rat, and look like one too! LOL. Enjoy your nice weather!!!

Hugs to everyone on this NON Monday,

    Kathy

Kathy, is the step daughter going to be marrying the same person, or is it someone different? Oh dear, just read your post that she is going through with it! It won't last. And happy birthday to your DD, at least it's her getting older and not you! LOL!

LMAO @ Gail and needing Junie's hammock! I am really cracking up.........good one!

NM, what a neat little thing for your kayak.

Kymn, once you get all of this chemo behind ya, you will be your old self again. Rads will just make you tired some times, recuperating from that is much easier and quicker.

Kitty, so glad to see you back in lounge! And you  figured out how to get your new avatar up. You look as cute as ever. In fact you don't look much different now, compared to the pic you posted earlier of you in your younger days!

Oh Mitch, I am so terribly sorry for all you are going through. Wrapping my arms around you for a big ole hug. I don't have advice on the surgery end of things, but on the depression, at least you recognize it, and perhaps can see someone about it? But venting here is totally ok, but you know that already!

Oh Kath, you funny lady..............I'm here with me ladder!

Oh so nice to see everyone up on the roof, and all the ladders below....LOL. Actually my tall ladder has been on the deck for days, with me going up and down, up and down, painting. Yeah, Lori, she did marry the same guy. So weird that they broke up, and as of Saturday were STILL apart, then Sunday night, the bombshell. I don't think my DH believed they would really do it, and was hoping they wouldn't! So when she called today, just 30 min before the "event", of course he couldn't get ready that quick. First marriage for both of them....I would think they would want to plan it a little (well, shit...a LOT) better and have all of us there, then a party or at least lunch or dinner out....but no....they get married, and then she goes to work! Shall we take bets on this one? Hundred to one odds???? I really don't like the guy either, and all of his lies, and he has gotten fired from every job, with no job at all the last few months. Do I detect a loser here????

BTW Lori, were you able to get your video done? Did the winds die down??? My DD has to work at the boy scout day camp all week, and so didn't even tell anyone it was her Birthday. This is from 7:30 am-4pm, in this horrid heat! One kid in her group had such a bad asthma attack, had to go to hosp in the ambulance. And she has some in her group with asbergers (sp?), and add, etc. But she has such a gentle heart and cares a lot, esp for those with disabilities.

Oh Boy, the bar is FULL of dwinks.....and so many galz in the pool. Looks like a wunnerful night at the HTL!!!! What could be bettah????

No video yet Kathy, it will take me awhile, haven't even had time to work on it, so may take a couple weeks before I actually get it done and loaded on you tube. But here is my elevated bed. I just love it. In it I have 3 tomatoes, 2 peppers, 2 parsley, oregano, cilantro, basil and chives.

Sorry about the SIL situation! I know where you're comin from! I believe it is aspergars, which is a form, or as they call it a "spectrum" of autism. It is what my grandson has and I believe a couple of the gals here have kids with it.

    Hope nobody steals our ladders!

Wahine--I don't know how much the little kayak carts cost, the one I have was given to me. I find it very helpful if I have to go more than a few yards from car to water, and often use it so I can just park and unload rather than unload at the put in point and then go park. I like to go different places, so it's been handy, although carrying the ‘yak isn't so bad, really, it's only about 60 pounds. Snakes in the yard are definitely EEEK time! Stepdau getting married in a few minutes? Really? And she expects anyone to show up with such short notice? Talk about self-centered!

Kymn--Getting back to work is like getting part of your life back. It was at work that I first started having moments of not thinking about the beast. It's a big step in the right direction!

Stanzie--depression is so common among us survivors, and also after the loss of a pet, so you've got a double whammy at the very least. If you aren't on an antidepressant St. John's wort and SamE are good natural remedies. DON"T take them if you are already taking an antidepressant--that can cause serotonin syndrome and that is not fun.

Also, call your insurance company and ask to speak with a case manager. Explain the situation and find out what is covered and what isn't. I'm pretty sure that all breast surgery needed to create symmetry and a normal appearance is required to be covered. Lipo, however, is not likely to be covered unless it's coded as fat harvesting instead of liposuction.

    And talk to your PCP about documenting that you have trouble breathing and have him/her refer you for nasal correction surgery, then insurance should cover it. And don't worry about crying in the office, I think that kind of reaction makes the doc sit up and take notice. And we ALWAYS allow venting here, that's part of what we are here for, gives us excuses to dwink more! {{{{{{hug}}}}}}}

Um, Wahine, how am I going to get a dwinkie? I'm scared of heights, and do NOT do ladders! Maybe you can pour one out and I can just open up and slurp. . .

NM. So funny, as usual! Well, we could also fasten a long straw down to you.....and keep the dwinks coming! Love the courthouse cartoon.....might end up being true. Just so strange! I am amazed that you handle your yak by yourself...I think our largest is about 54 lbs and the other one is about 47 lbs...yours is heavier! Maybe we'll get stronger the more we haul them, but yeah I might check into the wheelies.

Lori, That is so neat!!! Whenever "elevated" is mentioned, it usually just sits on top of the ground, so garden is maybe 6-8" above ground. Yours is sooooo fantastic, as you don't have to bend over at all. I love it!!!

Watching the Bachelorette right now....and throwing back some brewskis... (well, not really dwinking, but it sounded good!)....Ciao!

The trick with carrying a kayak yourself is balance.  Pick it up in the middle of the cockpit, put your shoulder inside and balance the side of the kayak there.

When putting a kayak on top of a car start by throwing an old blanket or tarp over the back of the car and up onto the roof.  Lean one end of the kayak up on the back end of the car, then go to the back of the boat, pick it up and slide it forward onto the roof. The go up to the front of the car and lift the front end of the boat onto the rack, into the saddle or onto the J-rack, then do the same for the back end.  The secret is the blanket or tarp, that lets the boat slide and prevents scratches to the car or boat.

Kitty, very cute pic. I concur with Lori, very similar to your high school pics. I think you and Kymn could be in the final two of The Miss Universe of BC Survivors!

RW, so let me get this straight....Happy Bday to DD and kudos for her for being so caring for others who are very special. And yikes, ugggh Happy Wedding Day to DH DD aka step-d? Wow, seems like this could be part of All my Children. But I am sorry you are dealing with this and sorry that DD had such a rough day. Between the heat and the "episode", I sure hope that despite this, she had a good BD. Well I am going to try the ladder again...so fn funny, "dwinks on da house but byol (ladder)!!

Stanzie, believe me, I know these frustrations and heart aches. Sorry that WD's on the beach upset you so. I sure can relate. And the whole reconstruction thing, yup, I know how you feel. I also have "fat wings" in both arm pits but more so where I have no tit.  And I have not even gotten close to the nipple thang. I wonder if it is even worth it. I make great ones on my one boob outta lip liner. I am my own dern tatoo artist, as long as no one rubs them. But seriously, I am in line to wrap my arms around you and will pray that you get past this. Life is often overwhelming but remember "This too shall pass".

Claire, sorry I missed the steak dinner, truly my favorite. I do not indulge often but enjoy a good steak....next time, I'd like mine medium well. Hope your ankle is better.

So does ebery body have cotton balls glued to your ears for Chrissy? Come on now, get with it girls. I only saw Beanie with the cotton balls. Although I see RW with the brass ones and I respect that!

Thanks NM! There are handles at each end, so thats how we have been carrying them...but will definately try it the way it shows in your pictures! Wish you were here to give us hands-on tips. Searched for a class, but nada. However, there are several groups that get-together for kayak trips, even just on the river for an afternoon. When we get more experienced, that would be fun.

Hey Beans!!! Where have you been hiding???

Oops, bumped into ya, DorK! Hope I didn't hurt you though. And givng me the brass balls.......funny!!! You are a riot, and I miss your posts when you work too dern much!!
