Joan: Give it time as we certainly don't want two different halves looking back at us in the mirror!

LOL, being as patient as I can, but that right girl is such a floozie!

Pinkbutterfly -- I would not invest in a lot of new bras till after exchange... the size CAN change. I also bought stretchy bras when I had the TE and those do still fit (band size did not change) even though the cup size is bigger than what I am now (was a DD, now a D).

Floozie!!?? LOL!

Peg, so sorry you are struggling. ((Hugs))
Linda and Laura, very interested to see the massage video. My PS never rec'd massaging and quite frankly, I never "got" the why of it. Now I do, makes a lot of sense. Thanks, love the collective intelligence on here!

Linda: Thanks for posting the massage video. My PS showed me how to do it but he called it squeezing. Now I know it is the same thing.
Suebeebc: I have the torpedo look too. It looked worse before because my nipple was more swollen. Overall the lifted/augmented side is gotten a little smaller, the cancer side looks the same, so they are becoming more even. Next Tuesday it will be 3 weeks for me so I am trying not to look until then.

Hi everyone. My exchange was Tuesday. All went well- quick surgery, very minimal pain, good results as far as one can tell at this point. Best of luck to those with upcoming surgeries.

Hi Kelly,
Glad to hear from you on the other side and that you are doing well.
I am starting my countdown...now off all vitamins. 13 more days to go.

tembo--i think massage instructions are based on where the implants are sitting...mine were a tad high so all he wanted me to do was press down and then press them toward the center several times a day for a few minutes. He def did not want mine pushed up from the bottom. I use vit e topically--he has me rub it in for 2 mins right before I get in shower---he says you should not leave it on as it actually dries out skin. After shower its Mederma rubbed in to scars and then Biodermis silicone strips that I had to order online, which are pretty extraordinary (but expensive, although you cut the strips in half and keep re-using them for weeks).

Did any of you stop your Tamoxifen for surgery??

I went for my first post-op appt yesterday and all is good...Sooo far that is because you know how our girls can settle.. That is the frustrating part. My PS said she removed lots of skin once again and tightened the pockets. Hopefully they don't settle too much because I love they way they look right now! My skin is just so thin and seems to stretch and cause divots. She didn't say anything about massaging the implant and for now I'm not.. I want them to stay right where they are! LOL. I am continuing to use the silicone strips. She also looked at my file twice cause she could not believe how good my scars looked in only 2 weeks. Those strips really do wonders. My scars are almost totally white and very smooth
Good luck to everyone who is have exchange/revisions next week..

Hi! I am one day post exchange. I had horrible nausea when I got home since I had decided to pop some percocets on a totally empty stomache. Learned my lesson let me tell ya! I have Zofran now..but it gives me an awful headache. Let's just say I am quite miserable..I know It has only been a day and it WILL get better. It's just hard to see that right now. I was exchanged with 800cc Mentor memory gel and I am very nervous to take off the bandages in a day or so. My DH has been sooo good to me but I know he just doesn't really know what to say at my dark times. It get's better right?? Thanks.

Ruth, congrats on 6 months out and all clear!! I thought maybe they would tell me to stop tamoxifen for risk of clotting.
Jennifer- did your PS give you the silicone strips, or is this something I need to order before surgery? Glad you are happy with your new girls.

perfect4, sorry to hear about your bout with nausea, I hope your pain is under control. I am sure things will get better, you just had surgery, give yourself time.

Christine I actually purchased the scar strips at CVS.. CVS brand also.. They are quite costly.. 25.00 for a box of 28 but you can leave them on for up to 3-4 days. I cut them in half because they are about1.5 inches wide. So I use 1.5 strips on each breast. I didn't start using the strips till my incisions were totally closed. I didn't want to risk yet another infection. After my revision surgery on June 8 I was able to shower 2 days later and noticed some seeping/bleeding from the incisions. I immediately starting using steri wound closure strips to closed the incisions. Within a`week they were healed an that is when I started using the scar strips. I really am inpressed with the way they work..Good luck!

Had my 5th fill today. I am now at 600cc in a 750cc expander. PS says one more fill. So I guess this is roughly how big the implants will be except i think he is going to go with high profile so I get more projection and not so hamburger bun looking. I feel ok just a little sore on one side, maybe because of a little capsular contraction. NOt bad though.
Posted on the pic forum the thread is called Delayed Tissue Expander Surgery

My steri strips (had one large yellow one put over stitches on each side) are coming off and it has only been a week since my exchange surgery. They came off very early when I had my mxs. I was thinking that I should start putting antibiotic ointment on the incision area at least twice a day. What have others done? I see my plastic surgeon on Thursday.

I wondered about going off the Tamoxifien. I wondered if it would help with the healing. I never checked into it though. I may go off of the tamoxifen for a month in October in order to see if the issues I am having with my thumb is related to the tamoxifen or is something else. My oncologist said going off of it for a month would be okay.

shortlady I wouldnt put anything on them until I put a call in to my PS. He should have an answering service on the weekends for these kinds of questions. Each PS is different as to what they want. I would put sterile gauze over them in case there is a leak or pinhole opening you dont see and put in a call.
I have dermabond. It came off after 10 days after my mx and my incisions got goopy. Fingers crossed that I am past that milestone and the dermabond is holding tightly!

Hi Ladies, Im wondering if anyone can answer my question about the steri strips? I had my exchange on the 13th as some of you know, i saw my ps this past monday said i could peel them off in the shower, but i did not try till today. i did a few on the native side cause it looked like there was aalot of dries blood under it but now im so nervous that its going to split open!!! i want to put some neosporin on it cause its very red?? anyone been here before ?? I also had my areola taken off and sewn back on when he lifted this ta ta, so there is steri strip encircicling it way to afraid to take that off , but should i ??? thanks

beacher I was told to not pull my steri strips off but to wait until they fell off and that took about a month. I wouldn't put anything on them without asking your PS.
