Ladies -- drop and fluff is more a change in how you look but NOT a change in size.  Call it a shifting of the silicone.  There are also changes due to swelling that goes away (usually in the first 2 - 4 weeks post exchange) but even that is not likely to affect your cup size.  I got fitted for a bra post exchange at around 3 - 4 weeks and again at 8 months post exchange... both times the same: 38D or 38DD depending on the bra.  Pretty consistently 38D though across the board.

It may seem like you are smaller but you won't be unless you lose weight (but if you lose weight the implant size will NOT change and, most likely, neither will your cup size -- just your band size or some relative version therein).  If you are augmented on one side (or reduced/lifted), yes, that side WILL change if you lose weight because you still have breast tissue there and are able to lose that tissue (or gain).

Suebee, I think it's good to post pics!  Pics allow everyone to see the normal stages of post-exchange recovery.  It's good to share what happens after E-day.

Ripples, divots, cold implants, it's all normal, it fluctuates, it improves.  Just support your boobs, everybody.  Heal them where you want them to take up residence. Front and center, baby :-)

Cameron -- in all honesty I think the BEST thing all recent exchangees can do for themselves and their peace of mind is stop examining every small shift and change but rather put the girls into a good, supportive bra and then go out and live and enjoy life!  In a few months check again... the day to day changes can drive you crazy.  Focus on how you feel.  You all already really DO look terrific and if, in a few months, it becomes evident that you need a revision then you can address the issue if it comes up.  Most can address small defects like dog ears or small divots with a little extra nip/tuck or fat grafting at nipple time... which at any rate is best done after some months have passed anyway :)

Lilah; I totally agree, and I myself am in underwire 24/7; except for the 10 minutes I sneak in a shower!  I just see a lot of people worried about the changes they find after exchange, and I worry about people having the wrong impression.  I like to make sure people know what to expect, if they happen to see divots or ripples.  It's all normal; it will get better with time, now put your bra back on!

It's kind of a three-fold approach.  First, don't look. Second, (because you looked) what you see is normal. Third, stop looking.  Repeat as necessary.

I only looked at my boobs 4 times today (ok, maybe 5 times) and felt them 19 times (ok, maybe 20 times). I am getting better about stepping away and not obsessing, lol!

Thanks for the humor. Sometimes that's as good as the information. A good place to call it a day.

beginning my 6th day post exchange.  feel really good. as to the appearance- one breast looks so beautiful, the other is quite rippled (but it was like that even during the TE stage, so I was somewhat prepared.)  this is my first day alone with the kids, but may call for reinforcements this afternoon. happy healing to all.

Kelly - glad to hear you are feeling good.  Sorry about the ripples - hopefully they will go away with a little time and healing.  Take it easy and have a good time with your kids :)!!

Good morning ladies! Tomorrow is the big day for me! I am nervous about surgery, but so excited to get rid of my turtle shell!! I had a small lift on my left side when I had my MX in Sept. so I will only be dealing with MX side. I am a stay at home Mom and was wondering- when did you all start driving after exchange?

Tiffany - I took it VERY easy after exchange.  I didnt leave the house for 4 days and didnt even take a walk around the block for nearly a week....but I think for me it was a good decision because week two - driving, walking, shopping, etc was a breeze.  My exchange was on a Monday and by the next Monday I was pretty much pain free and doing everything normally.  I know a lot of people can drive in a couple of days but i just wanted to take it easy up front.

Kelly glad youre feeling great!!!  I think youre at the point where the clouds peeled away for me too.  I have ripples on one side as well but I was expecting it being thin and reading about others out here.

Lilah no lie!!! I just took a shower and stood in front of the mirror for a while poking, feeling and admiring!  I concluded they are lovely in their own way but just arent twins right now.  I accept them for what they are.  Wink  And I did NOT take pictures (yet).

LOL Sue -- well they may never be twins.  You may have to be content with "sisters" :)  But, truly, how many of us had actual twins to begin with?  God knows I didn't.

Lilah mine were pretty darn close to being twins before....they were just dwarfs.  Tongue out

One thing I did notice today is my BA side's scar is not really in the fold anymore...its on the breast.  but both girls are still level with one another so its not like my BA side dropped out of the pocket or anything....maybe its just fuller in the bottom of the pocket now.  Here I go noticing everything....but I think I am doing this so I can go armed with appropriate questions tomorrow.

Kelly:  Congratulations on your exchange and I hope your wrinkles iron out in the drop and fluff.  I had many wrinkles from the bra I had to wear so I am hoping this is all that it is.

Ok, I said I wasnt going to do this BUT - I just posted new photos!!!!

My Chantelles came today and I tried them on.  OH MY do they feel so nice on!!! BUT my quaint little hamburger bun is having a little trouble without nipplage.  SO go take a look.  I think I should return it until my boobs settle more.  60 dollars (times 2) is a lot of money to waste if I dont fit this bra in a few months.

Hmmm....and if I started dropping and fluffing, yeah!!! But it still sticks out like a VOGUE pose!!! LOL Did I just date myself?

Kelly... glad you are feeling so good and hope your first day alone with your kids goes smoothly.

Tiffany... I started driving about 4-5 days after exchange and did fine.  If you are taking any pain meds, they will tell you to wait 48 hours after taking the last one before you drive.  I think that is a good idea. Good luck tomorrow!

Cameron.... I can't help it.  I check my new foobs with every trip to the bathroom!  Don't see any D&F yet.  Who was it that mentioned perhaps someone should try some time lapse photos?  I just want to know when to safely measure and order new bras.  I am getting started cleaning out my closets and already getting rid of tops that don't seem to fit very well.

Thought I'd say hello, I've been reading this thread for awhile... I'm about done filling (??)  I had 3 fills so far from 200 day of surgery 5/9 now I'm up to 350.   I have to wait till July 7 till PS comes back from vacation for a consult, to see if I'm done filling or not.  I feel plenty big!  Right now all I want to do is get done filling so I can get clearance to get some exercise and go swimming with my kids at some point this summer!  I am pending to go on to pix forum to figure out what's what... I will probably join some of you there... :)  Michele

Joan:  Mine changed alot over a two month period--mostly I lost in the upperpole.  I had a measurement done 1 month out and still lost a lot of swelling in the 2nd month.  I only bought one bra that is now a bit large, though I still wear it being that it has some fiberfill and you cna't tell it's large, even under a tight tee shirt.

Hi Michele:  I would definetely go on the picture forum--it helped me with making all my reconstructive decisions and got me to the size that best fit my body (with Whippetmom's incredible support!!!).

SueBee:  You look great and so do NOT have hamburger bun.  Do the massages and it will soften with time though we will never have the conical shape of a natural breast we can get a bit more projection with FG & a nipple.

Cameron:  Ok, I updated my nipple/areola pictures and my lumpy belly that I hope on 7/15 I find out if my PS is going to fix and get more FG for under my areola.

Yikes!  Hard to keep up here.  Wishing for boring, uneventful surgeries for all with upcoming exchanges this week!  Mine won't be until later this year.  I made so many trips to San Francisco during my necrosis phase that I'm spreading out my expansions.  PS said I could schedule them anywhere from 1-4 weeks apart...my choice.  I definitely needed a break and a chance to shift my brain to other matters for a while so I'm spreading them out.  I don't know yet how long he likes to wait from final expansion to exchange.  Another question for the list!
