    SuebeeBC,

Tried to post a msg on the pic forum but I don't think I was successful 'cuz I can't see it. Still have some trouble on there.

Anyhow, just wanted to say, your result is beautiful, BOTH sides. Hamburger buns they are NOT! Yes, we obsess over everything, that's what we do, and we do it well. But, I'm glad to hear that you are happy, 'cuz you should be - you look awesome!

SuebeeBC:  LOL, that's what I had written in the deleted post above.  Then I couldn't decide if that was from the Brady Bunch or an old movie so thought it might make absolutely no sense.  Should have trusted myself this time!

You guys are too funny!  Ike and Tina...maybe not, which foob would want to be Ike? Really.

OK, true confession, almost a year out and I still check out the look and feel of the new me pretty often.  The good news is it is far less frequent and doesn't have the obsessive quality that we seem to have in the first few months.  Early on you just can't help yourself so, you newbies, just know you will eventually calm down and move on.  :)

Deekay - well THATS good news!

I spent the day in and out of 4 different bras...trying them on, checking me out.  LOL.  I wasnt sure if I was going to keep the Chantelle I just bought and now Ive had it on for about an hour.  Marsha was screaming at me for more room tonight...jesh she's got her OWN room now and she wants to expand???  LOL I felt like my other bra was too tight on the left and feeling uncomfortable and sensitive so I put the Chantelle on......AHHHHH.  Wonder what THAT was all about because her swelling hasnt gone down yet!!!!!

friday had the expander taken out, had drain out yesterday yahoo!!! i hate those things.  feel ok some soreness but not too bad.  if i could only sleep at night it would help, i fall asleep but never stay asleep.  even when i take pain pills i still wake up.  not sure what thats all about.  its getting old too.  scheduled my tram flap for oct. 18.  she was looking at aug. calendar but i've had enough for a while.  i am so tired of being poked and cut and put under , i need a break.  i need time to prepare for that surgery , i know its going to be a tough one.  i sure hope the next surgery will be the end of this nightmare, not sure how much more i can take.

Hey Ladies - I had my LAST appointment with my WONDERFUL PS today..  Boo hoo hoooooo! He is moving in a month so if I have questions I can call but I wont see him.  :(  I got all of my questions answered about massage (no), exercise (yes), swimming (yes), hot tubs(no), and my future nipple (late August at the earliest).

My favorite part of the visit was him telling me that he was really happy I was sharing my photos so other women could see that good results CAN be had....but told me that I was like one of those adverts that say on the bottom **Not a typical patient - actual results may vary**.  LOL!  He said few get results as good as Ive gotten - he is so super proud!

It was a really good visit.  Wishing you ALL good things!!!

Peggy I understand the need for a break....I hope ALL goes well with your Tram Flap!!!

Peg:  I am glad to hear from you.  I have been praying for you.

You might want to have your protein levels checked.  After my bi-mx (12/2010) I had some healing issues and my oncologist discovered that my protein levels were very low.   He sent me to a dietician and she said that women have a hard time getting the protein we need.  She says I need to get 100 grams of protein a day.  I started off with two protein shakes a day (powder whey shake mix 30 grams, a cup of milk-10 grams, 1/2 cup of greek yogurt-10 grams and berries = about 50 grams) She also told me to look for protein snacks (nuts, protein bars, etc)  I just have to make sure they do not have a lot of soy in them because I am hormone positive.  When my protein levels went back up I had just one shake a day.  Before my exchange and now after my exchange (June 17th, 2011)  I am back to  drinking two shakes a day.   I had radiation on my left side and I am hoping the extra protein helps with the healing.  I figure it can't hurt.  The shakes also help fill me up and keep me from eating to much now that I can not exercise for a while.  Fyi:  my oncologist said to be careful of the canned protein drinks they contain a lot of sugar.

     I hope this information helps.

Lilah - the new PS coming in I havent met yet, but my PS gave me the name of a local PS that he would highly recommend.  I guess even though they never did surgery together, he comes very highly regarded from several people that my PS respects.   My PS told me that if this new PS tells me how she does things and I am not comfortable with it (i.e. grafting from other places) then I should get a referral to this other PS.  My PS was very strongly opinionated about it being a local procedure only....skate flap, star flap etc.  I could always go to San Antonio to follow my PS but it would be a big undertaking...take time off, the cost of a week away and flight etc.

Pegs and Shortlady - I had incision healing issues after MX and was put on a high protein diet too.  For exchange, no questions asked I just did the same thing and knock on wood, am doing great.

PEG I'm having my right TE removed next week. Hadn't even thought about the fact that I might need to have another drain. UGH! Did you have any infection in the TE? Hope you are feeling better now.

Exchange is done!! Have been sleeping most of the day. The pain is minimal, but then I'm keeping up with the pain meds. I am wrapped up pretty tight so I can only feel the top of my implant-squishy!! I will see PS tomorrow for follow up. Surgery lasted about 1h 15min. No drain and a 2" incision. I was given anti-nausea meds in my IV since I am prone to nausea after anesthesia. Right now I am not considering the nipple surgery. Maybe later.

    So far so good!!
