Sherry...yeah... I undersand it about the drugs...they can be tampered with etc...but these are cancer meds someone could use!!> such a shame...and a waste really because someone could use them....I remember working at a grop home for youth and we tossed pills every month (brought them to the pharmacist)....somehow I did not feel the same way..they were antibiotics mostly ...this is just closer to my heart and could help keep a woman alive....burns me is all

vhshea I think you need to take those birth control pills and throw them in the bonfire at Bonfire of the Goddesses

vhshea - I will gladly take them and throw them in the bonfire for you.  Those little buggers are part of the reason I got BC in the first place.

vhshea - I do think the birth control pills got the ball rolling and then Prempro was the icing on the cake - egads!  There is no family history of BC.

Morning all!  Its gonna be another hot one out there today.  Im so ready, NOT!  I tell you what the dang hot then cold flashes are driving me to the brink of madness.  At any given moment Im so flippen hot that Im sweat buckets of sweat from the hot flashes.  Then Im freezing cold.  I even had to put on a jacket yesterday at work.  I can handle the hotflashes, but the cold this chic doesnt care for.  I am so ready for these SE to pass.

Monday is the big day for my big (well small in my case, lol) exchange.  I will finally get these rocks off my chest.  I cant wait.  Plus my clothes will finally fit me again.  I wont feel like Dolly Partons twin sissy, lol.  I know that Im not that big, but when you go from being a 32A to the size I am now, WOW!  Hubby loves the size, go figure.  I woulda nevr thought that.  We have been together for 22 years and up until last year I was a small breasted gal. Men, go figure!

Tink and ECG I hope all is going well.  Take care and I hope the pillows will be soft this weekend.

vhshea I'll have to pass on the offer, lol.  I have my tubes tied years ago, so I get to have lots of fun and no worries.

I know this is a BC wesite but Im gonna post anyway because I can.  I have 2 sissys and I love them so and dont want anything to happen to them.  Well my younger sissy has lost both her breasts to cancer 10 years ago and shes  going strong.  My older sissy has the good breast so she good there.  Well she found out 2 months ago that she had 3 spots on her thyrod and they did a biopsy Tuesday on them.  She finally got the results and it was good news.  No Cancer, Yahoo!  Im so happy that I can do cart wheels.  I love you sissy and am so glad you are safe!

Sherry, Bring on the boys.  Im so ready for some eye candy.

So someone said that if you experience no side effects from Tamoxifen, that you are not absorbing it... anyone else hear that ?

vhshea - Not true.  Everyone handles medications differently - I think if you have no SEs you are quite lucky.

Its been a while since I've posted, but I have a question for those who are on Tamoxifen.  Has anyone had an issue with their retinas while on Tamoxifen?  I just had my eye doctor checkup, first one in 3 years which is when I started on Tamoxifen.  The term is called tamoxifen retinopathy and is rare for those on 20 mg/day, but can occur.

I have a checkup with my med onc on 8/1.  My eye doctor says to come annually unless I have a change in my vision.

Just curious how common this is ???

Ask your oncologist about a CYP2D6 test - it can show how your body processes the drug.  Since I have been on the mediciation in June 2008, I did experience hot flashes within a week, and luck me, still get my period.  The only time I do not have hot flashes is when I am getting my period.  My doctor said she wouldn't test me, because the maximum she would put me on is 20 mg/day.

    Hope this helps.Smile

Murphmort I have not heard of that but I do wear glasses and my MO said for me to see my eye dr every 6 months.  I decided to skip this first one and just go with my yearly because I am just tired of appts.  Will decide after that if I will do every 6 months.  sounds kinda overkill.  The last time I went for an eye exam I told the Dr I would be on tamox and he felt yearly was good.
