Tink glad you got the nap and had a great time.

Chabba so sorry you have been so sick, glad you are on the mend

Dukette, you have the final say about your treatment plan.  If you do decide to stick with not taking tamoxifen there is alot of really good info on the natural girls thread about what to take if you don't do hormonals.  We are always here if you need us.

Welcome Dukette and good luck with your choice of treatment.  Everyone needs to feel comfortable being able to choose what they feel is right for them.

Tink, glad you had a good night as you deserved it.

Chabba we have missed you.  1 month with pneumonia and you still have it?  What are you on?

Hello Jo Jo, Alicia, Sandee, Paula, Sherry and all the other lovely ladies I missed......

June - Just peachy!  Not complaints and feeling really good.  One major thing in my life lately - I quit smoking 2 weeks ago!! Couldn't believe after 40 years.  Guess it took getting BC to get me to finally stop.

Thanks all for your concerns.  I am feeling much better but still weak.  My own fault and the old Norwegian bullheadedness.  There were some pretty critical things going on both in my own business and the non-profit organization where I am treasurer and one of the most active volunteers.  I was determined to keep working until the day my DH bundled me into the car and took me to the emergency room.  Our little county hospital is great--in less than twenty minutes I was undergoing treatment.  They kept me about 7 hours and sent me home well medicated and with Rx's that have me almost back to normal.  Now it is just get back strength and try to find that 15 pounds I lost somewhere.  Wink

Hi all.  Chabba I know what you mean about being bullheaded.  Hubby here gets so upset with me sometimes when he thinks I should be resting instead of doing.  They just have no clue when it comes to all we do as women and that we push ourselves to the limit and then some.  Take care and try to rest up.

Tink Im doing good. Just bored outa my mind.  I cant drive until the PS visit today.   It has been easier to bounce back from the swamp then it was the BMX, thank goodness.  I know times have changed since my sissy had it done.  My sissy couldnt go back for 6 weeks.I woulda went crazy.  I can go back to work Monday.  Im ready to get back.  Even though I had this week off it really wasnt a vaca when you cant do anything but sit around,

June I hope you had a good vaca, you deserve it!

Take care JO, Shari, Sherry, and all that I have missed.

Hey everyone so glad it is Friday. I am taking off at lunch today to go into San Antonio and take care of some things with DH.  Then going to meet some old friends and their daughter for dinner.  She is moving in two weeks to California and it is going to be so hard on them.  Both of their sons are already in CA and now their daughter.  I don't think any of them will come back to Texas.  I know my friend would like to move out there but they are getting ready for retirement and housing is so much more expensive out there than here in Texas.

Hi All - I see lots of new names.  Just thought I'd drop by to mark my second tamoxiversary!!  Yes it was two years ago today I popped my very first Tamox!!  Had blood tests done a few weeks ago and was told that I'm still 'pumping out oestrogene' and that I am nowhere near menopause (I'm 48 now but went into chemopause two years ago and have had no return to 'those monthly events' since!!).

Nothing drastic to report - I've had a few se's come and go over the two years, I suppose the most annoying is bone pain and extreme and continual tiredness.  On the positive side I'mm 100 pounds lighter tonight than I was two years ago!!

Best of luck to all of you tamoxibeauties!!

Ainm: Congratulations on the 100 pounds!! (& 2 years on Tami). Especially while being on Tamoxifen. It seems you only hear of women gaining weight while on Tami, so I am glad to hear that things can go in the other direction.

I recently lost 22 pounds and still have the final 10 to go! Even that was not easy. So my hat's off to you for your accomplishment!!!

Ainm - Congrats on 2 years Tamox & losing 100 lbs.

juliet - Welcome to the group.  This is real support and fun bunch of gals.

I have been on Tamox since Jan 5th and have not gained on pound - maybe I am one of the lucky ones??  Who knows.  Very minimal SEs and they are doable.

Hello Sherry c. I am new-- first time on this site. Our profile is very similar and I am on my 9th radiation. I am going bonkers reading all the side effects from the hormone therapy drugs. Very frightening and since you are a year ahead of me, I was wondering what you did and how you are doing. It seems like Tamoxifen has less serious SE than the A drugs and Femera but everyone is so different. I have hi cholesterol and osteopenia but am in good shape, take no meds and feel great for 64. I don't want to get these symptoms and wonder what has happened to people who chose not to take any of these meds. The bc is gone, the margins annielses were clear and the radiation should have caught any cell that got loose. so now I don't know what to do. I would love the extra insurance but at what cost? Does anyone have any input----the onc naturally want to put us on drugs. ????Any opinions??

Ruth2011: Due to the final path report on my cancerous breast, stage, grade and lower OncDx score, my oncologist recommended Tamoxifen x5 only, no chemo, no radiation. So for me, it was my only insurance. Yes, the se's frighten me, but so does cancer. I could have either down the road so it was not so much an easy choice, but my only chance to do all I could.

Ruth2011 - Welcome to the club no one wants to be a part of.  You have found a wonderful group of ladies that are full of good information and can get wild and crazy every now and then.

My stats are close to yours and I did rads and have been on Tamoxifen for 6 months now.  I am post menopausal and did try two of the AIs - Arimidex and Femara with no luck.  I have had very minimal SEs with Tamox and will be on it for another 4 1/2 years.  Each of one of us has to make our own decision about whether or not we will take the hormonal therapy drugs.  There are several threads for ladies who chose to go the "natural" route - you may want to take a look at those and see what those ladies are taking as a preventative.  Gather all the information you can before making a final decision.  Hope this helps and besst of luck to you.

Hi Ruth2011 and welcome to the group.  Like alot of the gals here, I too worried about the SE.  The return of cancer scares me more.  I decieded that I have to do what is right for me and so I know that  the Tamo was the right thing to do.

Congrats Ainm on the 2 yrs and 100 pounds that you have lost.

Welcome Juliet62.  I have had a few SE but from what I have read, they will pass.  I havent been on it long, but Im so ready for the hotflashes to go away. Thats the only thing that seems to hang around for me.  Good Luck!

Paula my vacation was wonderful as we went to Cape Cod and did the beach quite a few times, it is always a great place to go as my in laws own a side by side duplex.  They are now thinking of selling it and I hope they don't as it is so nice to not worry about renting a place and we can get up and go whenever we want as it is only 1 hour and 45 minutes away.....

It is Friday night gals and I want some drinks, who is joining me????
