WendyTY -- you are sincerely loved and deeply appreciated and I know it was our pleasure to find some way to show you that we cared from the very first and always will. The loving spirit that you have touches us all.
Ah !!! the picture. How I love to see all your smiling faces with as Mad says...no black clouds to be found anywhere. I think it may be because cancer buddies are like no other buddies. All the elephants have to go and hide somewhere while everyone has a mainly effortless rousing good time. You really all do look special.
Kudo's to the photographer and a big thank you......
See you all in the morning. I'm all in for the night......
Hugs, Jackie

What a gorgeous group of gals! I love the picture and wish I could have joined you! You all look so GOOD!!!
We're heading for Siikeston, MO to return Grant to his parents tomorrow. It's a five hour drive for us so we have to be up very early. I'll have more time next week to get caught up on all the posts.
Everyone have a great weekend.

You ladies all look MAH-VELOUS! So nice to see everyone looking so healthy and happy. Wish I could have joined you... Next time!
WendyTY - You are always in our thoughts and hearts.
Mak - Crossing everything here for you to get good results!
Susan - Thanks for sharing your story about your decision-making. It's always interesting to hear how differently our roads have been in these journeys of ours.
I did have my consult with the new PS today. While I was hoping for an all-in-one prophylactic mast. and implant surgery, he really feels that doing the expander is the more ideal route. His reasoning actually made a lot of sense. I talked to my BS afterwards, and he agrees. I trust my BS a lot, and so I will likely be scheduling Part 1 in September. Not looking forward to doing this again, but I feel much better about having a plan in place and have no regrets about my decision.

I'm posting this here because several at lunch wanted to know… and I assume others might also want to know.
For those of us who are eyebrow challenged and need some fill in

Anastasia Brow Duo Powder. It can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, Amazon, Nordstrom to name a few. Apply using an angled brow brush by just patting it on like you are making little hairs. Don't paint/draw long lines or it won't look natural. You can mix colors to give a more natural look. I don't because the color is a little lighter than my current brow color so I already have that mixed color look.Yes this stuff stays on even in all this heat and humidity. Even stays on during my power walks.
EDIT to add:
I learned how to apply at the Looks Good Feel Better program. Here it is online. Just click on the eyebrow section for step by step directions: http://lookgoodfeelbetter.org/beauty-guide/makeup-step-by-step0 -
What a fine looking group of ladies! Loved the photo. Cant wait to join you on the next outing...we move in 2 weeks! Chicago here I come!

Thanks BJ. That was a $16 dollar dress from TJMaxx. I just had to add the straps. Now that I have numb boobie prizes I can't feel when the top starts to ride down.

Lago-- Just snickered again. I see the lot of us wandering around oblivious with boob(s) hanging out!

Love love love Anastasia brow products but I am very challenged so I bought the kit with the stencil and the wax to make sure I didn't color outside the lines until I got used to it!!! It's amazing stuff.

Ooooooo... stencil. I too am challenged. Looking it up!

Hi there.. No news yet.. I guess will hear back on Monday.. am not as anxious to hear about the fact that it's back.. more anxious to hear that it's not turned TN on me.. as then I would lose all the options but chemo.. hoping for Er or Pr+ perhaps..
Going to a bbq and then out to dinner with DH today.. trying to enjoy each day before getting new port and starting tx..
So nice to see everyone at lunch yesterday.. and thanks to all for helping me carry my plate etc!!
I bought the stencils to use last year.. never did.. free handed it.. who knows what the side effects of this one will be.. most likely Navelbine.. may need stencils.. Fun times.. NOT...

Makmak I was just thinking about you again today… staring at my port. You seriously cracked me up about that yesterday. Maybe the surgeons should have pictures port "models." I'm hoping for some ER/PR+ for you as well. Bunch more options for you.0

The courage and humor in this group is priceless! Adey I laughed when I saw Lago's post of numb boobs and then smiled again when I read your post. Can't you just see tops slipping down, exposing breasts or what is left of them and us oblivious! When I was young (like very young and foolish) I would go skinny dipping in Lake Michigan with my best friend (girl). We thought we were so brave to chance showing our breasts at 14 when the waves pulled back.......now what does all that matter what my one breast that now looks like a football ( rather banged one up at that
) Now that I am retired, I am not so anxious about a former student seeing this.....how liberating!Makmak, I think about it all all the time. I hate when things happen near the weekend...at least this is not a three-day holiday. Take care and enjoy your barbecue!

When NavyMom's pool is built...maybe she'll let all of us go skinny-dipping!0

Hi ladies.... just stopping by to say how much I enjoyed our lunch yesterday. Another 3 hour chat session and then a few of us ended up chatting in the parking lot for another hour. Lago... thanks for the brow tip. I stopped in at Sephora in Woodfield and bought some before heading home. The girl in the store did my brows for me and gave me a demo so I went home with some nice brows. Really easy to use.
My dear aunt passed away last night so looks like my trip to Sioux Falls next week comes with a funeral on my side of the family and a family reunion on my DH's side. That will be enough FAMILY for a while. But love them all, well, not fond of my DH's sister, but I will just keep my distance. She is the most self-centered person I have ever known and not once has even acknowledged my BC. Too busy talking about herself.
Thinking of you makmak... hope that you can relax a bit this weekend. I hate having to wait through a weekend for test results. Waving at WendyTy.... keep up the fight!
I am getting this really crazy picture in my mind of this group having a skinny dipping party!

Joan...your husbands sister hasn't even sent you a card or email or anything to say "sorry to hear the news, is there anything I can do to help?". She technically IS family after all? She must be self centered.... Sorry to hear about your aunt, sending prayers to your whole family!!
I'll in for skinny dipping.... Hopefully the pool won't be ready for naked butts until next summer or otherwise I'll be the one lacking ALL hair....and sporting the nerf football looking TE's.... but I'm IN... Actually skinny dipping is pretty liberating!!!
MakMak...hope the rest of this weekend goes quickly! Waiting is the worst part.
Lago and Adey....I'm definitely going to need a stencil!!!! I'm NOT a makeup girl at all....last time I had it on my face was last September for a friends wedding, her DH is the butt that told me to earn my foobies with chemo, nothing should be FREE! still makes me angry...
The skin on my face is so irritated today, it's been flaring up in blotchy red spots since this whole started...and than really bad being couped up in air conditioning recovering....and maybe the vicodin and/or antibiotic combos? No clue but after my shower today, it was crazy....spots all over, red and irritated. I went and bought a really expensive cortisone 10 treatment and it seems to be working? I swear, it's always something? Every time I turn around something else hurts, is cracked open, breaking out in rashes....0 -
Madismommy719 make sure that rash isn't Rosacea. I got my first (and so far only) break out a month before my diagnosis. My GP gave me some topical stuff that works. If you notice my nose is always a little red from it (no Rudolph jokes please). It probably isn't but if it keeps happening be sure to discuss this with you GP. Usually older people gets this and people with fair skin. It's usually not a big deal.
joan sorry to hear about your aunt. Funny but my husband would say the same thing about my sister. (Still haven't spoken since the week after my BMX). He now refuses to go there for Thanksgiving… not that I'm planning on it. We can't pick our family like we can pick our friends. Lots of jerks in the world that have to be someones sister, brother or child. At least she isn't a mass murder.
So when do we go skinny dipping? Maybe we should all get temporary tattoos over our scars for the occassion. Those of us that still have boobs can get tats too.

Joan ....my deepest sympathy to you and your family in your aunt's passing. The only time my big family gets together is for weddings and funerals. There is way too many of us esp at the holidays. Enjoy your family get together. I have to say you look so cute with your new do.
Lago....skinny dipping oh my!! what will you girls think of next. lol I think I will pass on that one lol
Madmommy...cortisone cream is very good for all types of skin rashes, but do call your md to have it checked out. It could be an allergy to a med you are taking. Then you may need a different kind of allergy med. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Makmak..thinking of you and sending you big hugs. Hope you are having a good weekend. thinking good thoughts for you.
Wendyty....thinking of you and sending you big healing hugs your way too. Hope you are enjoying those dinners.
Wendy....ok where is the weather report. You didn't tell me that it was sooo hot outside this am when I went running. lol Now I will just flop down on my beach chair for the rest of the day. Just too hot and humid for me. Where are those cabana boys when you need them .lol
Laura....have you been racing lately. how is that goat of yours.
Zap....sent you a pm. feeling better.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. It is a tops down fist up day !! Stay cool as it is hot out there. Time to hit the shower after my am run. Remember to be healthy...be happy and enjoy life.
Have a great day everyone!!!.

Morning....ok, I'll say it till I fall over and talk no more. Though I don't think this is the case in every case. I really do think some of the people who don't communicate well if at all with us, are secretly so glad that the cancer found us instead of them.....that they can't really face us. I'm not sure they realize it, but it is just my opinion. I guess I get that feeling from the time in my very early years when we went through the "better her than me" thing. I got that impression very early on and have not managed to shake it.
Skinny dipping....got to lose those last few pounds, but I'll still be doing the locker room arms all over twist over.
BTW....I do think there is great self centeredness involved.....and now back to the regular programming.
Joan I am so sorry about your aunt. Hope it was a peaceful leave-taking. Hugs and prayers for you and all other family members.
Mak big hugs coming your way.
Wendy TY thinking of you with hugs as well.
Now for the Sunday quote.
Hugs, Jackie

BJ..."tops down kind of day"....so you DO wanna skinny dip after all? :0) LOL...
My face seems better, that cortisone crap is working. I'll call and mention my outbreak though because maybe it is an allergic reaction??? Except my meds haven't changed at all, who knows? Remember the other day I said I had a hard time out running my black cloud, this would be a perfect example....it rained on me again and landed on my face!
I ordered one of those boomerang pillows from walmart yesterday, after I drove around everywhere searching for one....I need it to get here quickly. I'm hoping it gives me a little more comfort at night, so tired of sleeping horribly. I'm regretting giving away my glider/ottoman a year ago!!! I didn't ever think I'd use it again since I was done rocking a baby.....little did I know what was going to smack me in the face! BOO....0 -
boomerang pillow never knew about those. They look comfortable. Where do you get pillowcases for those things?
0 -
It looks like walmart sells a red pillowcase (not really my color) and that it comes built with one that is removable/washable??? I'm hoping that's the case or my next step will be to search for other colored pillowcases.... I was told this thing will allow me to start sleeping in other positions than strictly my back....I'm willing to try!!!
