I didn't know I was joining a group of skinny dippers!  LOL!  Sounds fun...except I still look like Barbie.  Can we do it after I get nipples?  LOL!  You gals sound so fun....it is giving me something to look forward to since I am so sad at leaving my family/friends.   I guess I will be there for your next lunch shin-dig.....it will be nice to meet some ladies in person that have gone through this too.

Oh and thanks for all the health club recommendations....Xport and the hospital fitness center look really nice online.  Can't wait to check them out.  I am going to see if the hospital based fitness center would be interested in having me teach a group fitness class for cancer patients....I want to give back to others going through this crap!

Anyone into organic foods?  When we were visiting last time I ate at the Bistro Grill in Wheaton....organic food choices.  I was so happy - I could actually eat a meal.  I am also so excited at the abundance of organic meat farms in your area.  Detroit has none.  Any other organic restaurants? I heard about Honey in Glen Ellyn (I think).  Just curious.  Since I am ER/PR+ I don't eat any meat unless it is hormone free which makes it hard to eat out at all.   Before I agreed to move I made sure there was a Whole Foods and Trader Joes accessible....too bad Whole Foods isn't closer but it is very doable.  Do any of the regular grocery stores there carry much organic foods?  Just curious.

Madisonsmommy:  I developed allergies after chemo.  I am still not sure what I am allergic to...it's either soap, my vitamins or nuts.  I eliminated all and the rash went away...now I have to re-introduce things one at a time to see which one causes me issues.  I never had allergies like this before...thanks chemo....thanks a lot!  Oh and for itching/burning skin - Sarna cream worked well to sooth it.  You can find it in the first aid section of the drug store.  It comes in a lotion type pump bottle.  My dermatologist recommended it for my rash...FYI in case it helps.

    So sorry, Joan!

MDG, my daughter lives in Glen Ellyn and her family is 100% organic.  They place meat order with a farmer who then ships it to a chuch in her town.  I think she picks up monthly, but perhaps bi-monthly.  All fruits and veggies are organic too.  Where are you moving to?.  Glen Ellyn is near Wheaton and I could hook you up to her if you wish.

Joan, my firend who lost her dh is considering a European trip.  I know lots of people use the internet to plan trips but that would not be her thing.  She would like a travel agent.  Perhaps I could tell her about your business, and if you are too far from her (Glenview) perhaps you could suggest a business nearer to her home.

I am sorry I started the whole skinny dipping thing and then that mischevious one,  Adey, raised it a notch.   Going skinny dipping at 14 is one thing, and quite the other at 63...I would be mortified to do that now

So sorry for your loss, Joan. Judging by what you said at lunch, seems as though there will be lots of pleasant memories to be shared.

Hope you are feeling better Mak.  Keeping good thoughts for your results on Monday.

Hope you are feeling better, too, BJ.

For those of you going through the eyebrow problem and on a very tight budget....Look at CVS.  They had the eyebrow shade (only 2 to pick from...taupe and black.  Came with a great little angled brush.  Sold separately was the stencils.(Itried, but gave up) Cost about $6  or so.

    Skinny dipping.....

Ummmm....Wouldn't we all be a sight jumping into my pool in just our birthday suits?  So who is going to be first?????

Mdj  Good luck on your big move.  Pm LauraGTO your email info so she can send you the details when we get together again.

Joan, I am so sorry about the loss of your aunt.

Susan, I forgot to tell you how much I loved the "golf" card.  Now that was just darn cute!

I am one tired grandma.  I had my five-year-old grandson all this past week and we had a ball.  Wow!  It didn't take me long to kick up my feet today and realize how tired I really am!  Still, I wouldn't trade that week or anything else.  I love being a grandma.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I can't believe that we're into August already tomorrow.  Where has our summer gone?  When do you have to go back, Blackjack?

Well, I'm ready to crash for the night.  Hugs to all of you!

Morning! Very foggy out here, 69 and humid on the deck..warm today, very hot tomorrow with maybe some rain...but no snow so YAY!!!!

Mak...your doc doesn't seem too concerned so that is good. Know you went to FL for experimental laser but don't know much else...hope this elicits good results! Hugs...

    Joan...sorry too for your loss.

Mdg....there is also a Living Well Cancer Center in Geneva that's associated with Delnor Hospital...I know they have yoga classes but I don't know what other exercise classes they hold. It's pretty much free so I am guessing instructors may be all volunteers??? You could check that out as well.

Rita....whew! Those little ones are perpetual motion, aren't they! Fun times tho!

BJ...you sick? Rest up! You went running in this heat??? Wow...

Skinny dipping???? Uh...count me out please! I had a very short window for that when I was about 17 and for about 5 minutes! I missed my opportunity tho..you know us Catholic School Girls never did ANYTHING bad like that! (no...we just did everything else! Lol!)

Off to the shower...DH goes to meetings today so I am planning a big cleaning today...will be strange not to have home around this am! Also...splurged last nite on something I saw on a tv program...Ben and Jerry's "Late Night Snack" ice cream...it's vanilla with salted caramel swirls with chocolate covered potato chip balls...it was surprisingly yummy! That was our first B & J ice cream...too many cal/fat grams for me...but it was good!!!!

Have a wonderful Monday! Waving at you WendyTY!

Mak minor set back…Not what you want to hear but that sounds very treatable. Keep us posted. Good luck with the laser treatment "let the force be with you" (sorry I always think of laser as a light saber kind of thing).

For those who don't feel comfortable skinny dipping, how about swimming in your underwear. I remember in overnight summer camp we went hiking and it got  too hot. Our counselor (from France) decided we should cool off in the lake. She undressed til she got to her bra and undies then jumped in the lake. We all followed. It was the early 70's though and in western MA. Not a lot of people in East Otis, MA driving around.

mdg  if you need nipples here are 2 links for you:
    silicon nipples linky

    rub on nipples linky 1
    rub on nipples linky 2
    rub on nipples linky 3

Anyone have any recommendations for other places to get silicon nipples. I'm considering getting a pair.

And speaking of rub on tattoos, Adey remember I told you I was more paranoid about losing my eyebrows than my hair. I also considered getting these at one point: linky

I know I need to stop googleberging.

Lago- I looked at those too and you just keep on googleberging it saves us time!

BTW  I'll be at Rush today and was gonna ask you to lunch but thought you might get me drunk again.  Tongue out  JK, too busy.

    Have a great day all.

Happy Monday ladies.... I'm off to work this morning. Trying to ease myself into 1/2 days when I don't have doctor appointments. But I will probably spend most of the morning making my next appointments and calling my insurance regarding our latest coordination of benefits statement that came. They only paid for the pathology of one boob during me BMX...and said the other "one was a duplicate service provided on another area" or something along those lines, UM hello insurance it was a BILATERAL....meaning TWO!!! Lol. This will be fun.

Than I have to schedule my next fill with PS, my Muga scan with my onc, my PT with a lymphadema specialist (my left arm is really not getting better....it seems like I have some cording going on??) UGH and than call my breast health navigator (I love that title LOL) because she's called me 3 times and still haven't called her back..... Busy morning. I hate taking on the phone.

Mgd...woodmans grocery store in north aurora has a lot of organic choices..... They even have a whole huge section of all organic and natural. It's not far from St. Charles....

Wendyk....yum, now I want ice cream for breakfast!! :)

Yes MadMom we all have the same onc. We need to coordinate appointments so we can have a party at Rush (OK not really. I now hate Au Bon Pain). Insurance will always look at reasons not to a pay but I have noticed that Rush has billed some of my herceptin treatments twice so it does happen. The insurance initially refused to pay for my TE placement. Both the guy at my PS office and I were screaming at them it was the law. I eventually found out that they used a general code for reconstruction. My insurance wanted the specific one for TEs. My insurance also refuses to pay for routine blood draws. I have to call up Rush to get them to correct the code because they are not routine. Insurance will do anything to keep their money.

Adey who got who drunk? Hey if you still want me to meet you let me know. I think our choices are ouzo or wine in that hood. Tongue out Granted Chinatown and Pilsen are not too far away. Pilsen…oh no more margaritas.

OK need to get out and walk before it gets too hot. It's 80 already.

Wendy - thanks for posting an update. I loved you FB post! I fell asleep when I got home, between treatment and the good news, my body just shutdown.

Never in a thousand years did I think I'd get the news I got today. Honestly I was thinking doom and gloom. We all know it's hard not to think that way.

I still can't believe between the radiation, Herceptin, and Tykerb my counts would decrease. I was expecting to tell the doctor, I just physically couldn't continue the Tykerb at the current dose and there was no way I was starting chemo again with how I am feeling.

Still amazed that I get a break from Chemo!!! Go figure. Next stop, off the steroids and hopefully start getting my strength back.

Just wanted to share with you all that we can get good news too!

    Go Illinois Gals!

I am feeling well after the first session.. though was feeling horrid for a while.. but I think it's because it took 3 hours and I didn't eat lunch until 2:30. and I eat 2 meals by then after breakfast usually.. Went to Whole Foods and stocked up on my yummy veggies.. will go out to dinner and relax.. then back to it tomorrow!!  Wednesday will go to meet my Aunt and Uncle in Miami.. supposed to rain all week.. oh well.. have my PC and TV and Kindle..

PET scan next week.. also scheduled a few appts at RUSH.. thanks Lago for all your info!!

    I CAN DO THIS!!

WendyTY.... oh such great news!  Congrats.  Chemo break!  Time to start thinking POSITIVE.  I seem to remember that this is MaryJRN's first day of chemo.... hope it went well.  Have been thinking of you.  The first time is the scariest when you don't know what to expect, but you do sort of get a routine going eventually.  Zap.... we have clients all over the country and even the world with my biz.  Been doing this for almost 20 years so it sort of builds up.  Glenview is actually "local" so feel free to refer her for your European itin.

I will fly out to SD on Wedneday afternoon to attend my aunt's funeral.  Thanks for all of your condolences.  She will be missed.  Then it's the family reunion so trying to stay ahead this week with work, etc.  DH left today to drive out there and get in some "farming" before I show up.  I just wish that it was not going to be so hot.  But I am happy to report that I have gotten my LE way down and think I should probably call my LE PT and let her know that the two weeks of therapy she has scheduled for me later this month may not be needed.  Yeah!

You are so right, Marina.............you CAN do this!  WendyTY is a prime example of what we can do when we put on our big girl panties and just do it.  Hugs to you!  I hope the other sessions go well for you, too.  Please keep us updated.

WendyTY I have read such wonderful things about tykerb. Seems like it works better than Herceptin. I do believe it crossed the blood/brain barrier too. Very cool news!

Makmak… anytime. Love passing along those linkies.

Hope we hear from Mary soon.

Joan my LE  was a little better today too. I don't understand why it would be. It's pretty hot and humid. Granted I haven't been out since my walk this morning.

Adey Maybe we need to try this place next time: http://killermargaritas.com/  Granted I will have to be carried home.

Morning! It's gonna be a hot one but I don't care! Still would rather have the heat smack me in the face rather than 3' of snow when I open the front door!

Mak....still not sure what tx you are getting (must have missed that post) but fingers crossed for it all going smoothly...and with positive results! Yes...you can do this! Gabs needs you to help pick out HER prom dress too....hang in there!

Jackie...how's Maggie doing these days? Hope you are taking care too...I know you don't like this humidity much..

Connie...hope ur having a wonderful time at Disney!

Mich101...I bet this has been a wonderful summer on that boat! What a great idea you had to buy it! Enjoy....

Got the downstairs all cleaned except for frig and stove, and all the bathrooms. Today is rest of the house then off to my get my Hawaii-blonde hair turned back to IL brown...it really is a beautiful color but I think I look ridiculous! There are days when I wish I had let the gray/white hair just grow back...at least until I saw what it looked like fully grown out as I see so much of it and some is so pretty. Oh well....at least I will not hear the comments anymore from "friends" about trying to look younger by going blonde! (duh...hair color plus shampoo, sun, salt water and chlorine = bleached out hair)

Have a great Tuesday...looks like some storms tonite with lower temps tomorrow...

Exchange went well. I'm almost 6 weeks out. Still waiting for changes. PS said expect changes for a total of 6 months! Not sure what that means. I know they may drop but I hope they don't get any bigger. I went bigger so I'm still getting used to being top heavy Tongue out (Maybe that's why I weigh a few lbs more than before. Yeah right I should be so lucky). Thanks for asking.

Hey if you want to meet tomorrow PM me. I live in Lincoln Park. 15 minute bus ride to Northwestern.
