Good morning and happy humpity hump day!

Kymn, sorry about the blisters and also that you are starting with the post-treatment blues. Your hair will be back soon and be more beautiful than ever. I can picture your cute face with blond curly locks. I have no idea how long it will take for your eye lashes to grow back, can you possibly use fake ones? I have never used them but many of my co-workers wear them and they look good.

And I am having PT today, the aspiration will happen tomorrow. Kymn, aspiration just means draining out the fluid that has accumulated in my back. When I had the final drain out last week, I was still running 50-70 ml per day but the doc had to take it out due to deterioration of the stitches that held it in. It then started draining through my stomach, when I got home from the city, my pants were wet from the fluid even with a huge pad on there. It scabbed up too quickly and my back, at the sight of the incision for the flap, filled up with lymphatic fluid. I believe it will just be a needle and some suction. It is weird, it feels like I have a little pond in my back.

Katrinka, let us know if you get through to NM's cell.

Lori, will have to get with you later, me just looked at the clock and I have 15 minutes to get outta here, oops, time sure does fly here. Sneaking our DOTD, what did you call it? Missing NM's dotd's and humor.

Ok, stopping in the chapel for a few quick prayers, finishing my vodka and l'aide then outta here.

    Cheerz!

    DorK, out...

Ok Kymn......I am sure you would be a better house sitter for Katrinka's parents! Sorry you are blistering, but it does heal up quite well. I had 2 burn spots on me, one on the breast and one in the arm pit. Eyelashes, I think took about a month. I hated losing eyelashes and eyebrows more than the hair on my head! I tried the false ones, but found them irritating. Also, just as a warning and I hope it doesn't happen, it didn't to me, but I have read about several gals whose eyelashes would come back only to fall out or thin again. And this happened several times. So just a warning for you, that it COULD happen. As for 6 month check ups, I think all doctors are different. I was on 3 months for the first 3 years, I have just advanced to every 6 months. This is with my onc tho, not my reg. doc. Maybe it's because you are stage 1 and no positive nodes? I don't know. Maybe you could look for a new onc, or tell the one you have that you are not comfortable with being released. But don't SETTLE for something you are not comfortable with. This is YOUR body and YOUR life.

DorK, the DOTD is from Scuba. She called it her Summer Cocktail, blueberry vodka with lemonade. You two have fun today!

Ya know Kathy, I almost took my camera, but decided not to. How dumb is that? Like it takes up so much room and is so heavy!

Oh Kymm.  The old post-treatment letdown.  I escaped that one by doing two cycling events the two weekends immediately following.  So things like getting soaked to the skin and chilled to the bone did wonders for taking my mind off the other.

Anyway, you could plan something pleasant!

I think your brows and lashes will be in very soon.  If the old ones are leaving, it means that the new ones behind are pushing them out.  Trust me on this one: you will need tweezers as all grows in at once.

As soon as my hair got to the "microns" stage, I got out the color and rocked uber short.  That was fun.  The in-between wasn't as felt saddled with the hairstyle from hell......those 'do's from the 1950s that I still think are hideous.  Now, I look like myself again, and needing to re-invent my look was a good thing.

Anyway, feel better.  Your breast will heal, your hair will start coming in, and you will be on your way. - Claire

Hang in there Kymnie, we all have your back!   (((hugs)))

I tried to reach NM on both her cell and home phone, but no answer. Hoping and Praying you are ok, NM. (I also hope I left my correct cell # with you! You can call my home number too). I will let you girlz know if I hear anything from her. Gotta get a few things done, as my youngest g'dau (6 yrs) will be spending the night with us, but will be here soon. My DD said she was so excited when it was mentioned to her last night that she packed her bag asap and has it by the door! We'll have fun!

    Titz Up! Bottomz Up!

ME again....sure seem to be posting a lot today!  ANYWAY I just heard back from NM, and she is OKAY! Was so nice talking to her! She did not have power restored until sometime yesterday, and doesn't think she has lost too much food, since she knew ahead of time of the possiblility of losing power, so was prepared. She has been so busy, of course, so hasn't been on the computer yet, but will post here as soon as she can. Just wanted to let you all know that she is alright. What a relief!!!! OK now, on with the party......

Kymn, did they give you anything to put on your poor blistering boobie?

Astorm, hope you are feeling better, we miss you too! Can I offer you some chicken soup? j/k! But I know what you mean, when you haven't been sick in so long. It happened to me when we went for a visit to see the g'kids.l I hadn't been sick in 10 yrs!

Karen, remember if you need to let a good rant off......we are here for you!

Really I just came in for some more Summer Cocktails! CheerZ

Hi girls!  Surgery went well yesterday.  I had some issues with the IV.  The nurse tried twice and could not get it to work.  The nurses aren't authorized to use Lidocaine.  What's that all about?  That should be a crime!!!  The anesthesiologist had to start my IV and he used Lidocaine.  I was out of recovery quickly.  Again, they wheeled me out to the curb before my DH and his family could see me.  My PS stopped by my bed in recovery to make sure I was doing okay.  I saw him today at a follow up appt.  He didn't find anything "funny" in the breast - thank goodness.  He also said my scar tissue was not hardened and he didn't have to remove any of it. Instead, he did a full capsulotomy and inserted Alloderm along the bottom.  My foob is swollen, but the pain isn't so bad.  I hope this is my LAST surgery!!!

Sounds like you all are having fun in the HTL.  And I'm glad NM was found and is getting her electricity back!

Kymn - I iron my sheets but I'd rather have someone else do it for me!

Dorothy - I don't know what aspiration entails but I hope it isn't too uncomfortable for you.

Scuba - blueberry vodka sounds wonderful!

Lori - I kicked the snot out of that bug. DH couldn't believe it only took me one day of extra sleep and daytime TV. DD has been sick for over a week. Thanks for the cocktail. I'm making tomato soup (my DD's vegan version) and grilled cheese (soy for her, dairy for me).

NM - hope you are enjoying some down time with Sadie.

Hi gals....really struggling emotionally....so frustrated that can't get a handle on things.....meds aren't right.....need to keep tweeking them......mom is so worn out from taking care of dad...she needs some respite care for her...wants to "place" dad for short term....not sure thats the solution as I don't think she'll be happy with that, but she needs a break....wonder if I went down if she would go away for a few days.....Dad is always cold and its worse at the "bewitching" hour...gets very cranky and nasty....feel so bad for both of them...I beat the damn beast, but the social emotional is getting the best of me.....never had to deal with this before bc......I read, but not up to posting much....thanks for listening....thanks for worrying about me....Karen

Heather, SO glad you made it thru the surgery just find, and the dr didn't "find" anything. YAY! DO take it easy though,ok? Nice that you got online to let us know you are okay!!!

Karen, We are all here for you. You can send me a PM, or any of the other gals, and just vent to us, if you want to. Is there any way to get a health aide a few hours a day? Or overnight, to help take care of your dad? I am thinking insurance could cover it? OR do you have a Senior Center where they could help you with information for resources, or you might even call an "elder" attorney....I forget what their actual title is besides atty, but they specialize in legal work for older people. There has to be SOMETHING, somewhere, that can give them some help, at home. You need to deal with your issues, and I am sorry that you have so many worries about your parents too. Praying for a solution for you, and for things to settle down and for you to feel better emotionally. Sending (((hugs))) to you, and please contact me if it would help.

Shoot, Gail, you really iron your sheets? You are a hard working kick-a$$ gal! Don't know how you do it all, with a job too. But ironed sheets feel soooooooo heavenly! Glad you got well so quickly.

Putting my g'dau to bed now. We just got home and it is after her bedtime, but maybe then she will sleep in and NOT get up at the crack of dawn! We are late sleepers, so we'll see.........

    Nighty night Lovely Loungettes!

Katrinka or Risque Wisque or Wahine or what the heck, I even answer to Kathy (the funny thing is, that DH has had a nickname for me from before we got married, and so if he uses my REAL name, I know something is wrong!).lol

    Kathy - I guess I don't have time to get sick ;)

Karen - that is such a difficult situation. My mom had Alzheimer's. My sister lived with her and she had 3 daughters at home at the time who helped her but one day she had a bit of a breakdown and just left. My neices called me in a panic and I was on the first flight. I made contingenct plans to bring her back to Cal or put her in a home there but sis came back after a few days and wouldn't hear of it. She never lost if after that but we made arrangements for some in-home care and a support group for the caregivers. I think the hardest part for her was that she wanted her mom to be her mom and that is hard to do when they can't take care of themselves. My mom was a wonderful nurturing person but she was frustrated, especially as she lost her ability to communicate, and did not behave like the person we loved so much.  My heart goes out to you and your family.

Wahine - thanks so much, yeah, we are having a great time and I'm so lucky! I think you are so right about Kymn too, if it is not comfortable then don't go...so will your parents be back for good with you in 4 weeks? Yuck about your sis and her bf moving in totally free to your parents place...how did that happen? Oh, thanks for calling NM, Yippee glad to know she is okay!!

AStorm - so sorry you got a cold...I sure hope it clear up soon, I just hate those. I don't' know nuthin, but whenever I get a hint of a cold I start popping Echinacea and goldenseal and vit c. I couldn't believe last winter when my immune syst was shot due to chemo and my DH and sis and everyone in the world was sick with colds I didn't get it, I just washed my hands about a hundred times a day too. So, yeah, had cancer, but not a cold - whoopee! I do hope you get better soon.

Scuba - glad to see you here again...this is the best dang bar in the world. Hope you have a great day tomorrow!!! That cocktail sounds yummy too, blueberry vodka, hadn't heard of it, but anything vodka is cool by me! Ug, drains, I sure hope you send them packing sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon!! About meltdowns, I excel at those...hope you will hang in as it does get better.

DorK - 6/2? Wow, that is weak, (j/k) oh good, beer too, so I'm def in for boobewwy wadka n dog beers!!! Frau Katrinka and Beanitinka do sprechensheee Geniebendadeutch. Einabishen blou, woo hooo love the pic of you that Hunk took, hot-cha-cha! You quack me up!!! Oh good, fukitols too, I can dig it! And yes, where is NM????? I hope she is okay! Crap about all the drainage, it is such a hassle putting pads where you might need them and then having them scab up...I just hate it but glad you can make a joke that it is like having a pond in your back...sure hope it gets all better soon.

Goldie - I agree, sure hope DorK's aspiration went okay and no fn pain. How sweet to offer to help get ready for Chrissy! I wish I could help too. Thanks for saying you'll miss me when I'm with DH, he has some biz tonight so I was able to sneak on and be here to dwink 6/2 boobewwy wadkas, yippee! So along with shoes, I'm axing my DH for new sports bras and tights and whatever I need to look as hot as DorK! He he he! Okay, now I'm confused, is Scuba going for a walk holding hands with her PT? who is having whiskey? I like the Summer Cocktail for DOTD, can we add whiskey? Sheesh, I'm so sorry the Arimidex is giving you problems and I totally know what a hassle it is to drive so far to get to the dr. Love your story about taking your 70 yr old neighbor out for a drive, the views sound so beautiful, just sounds so nice and I hope you both had a great time. Oh yummy, just found the beautiful dwink, thank you so much!

Kymn - wow, congratulations on your onc releasing you for regular follow up but this early would make me nervous too. I'm continuing every 3 months with my onc...I always recommend second opinions, dang, that is weird if you ask me. Thanks for the nice words about me and my DH...and for saying I deserve to be treated like a princess. That is so sweet and I do think goes for you too and all us HTL hotties. I can't wait for the rad bs to be over for you, and so sorry to hear about blisters...it's just such another sucky hurdle, but should end so soon...I am glad you are ranting about your frustrations and I just so totally understand...but at least the truth is you are really beautiful and you are getting to the end of the treatment!! Hang in there!! And rant away any time!!! It does suck big time!!! I lost a lot of eyebrows and lashes too, but as Goldie says they come back, well mine did, but mine were always light anyway, so need mascara. I also agree with her not to settle if something doesn't seem comfortable.

NM - So glad to hear you are okay, now when can we expect your morning funnies? Just kidding, I just always love to start my day reading your posts!!

Kitty - Hurray, that is great news that your surgery went well. How weird the nurses can't use lidocaine. Also great news that nothing "funny" was found and I do hope this is the last surgery for you!

Karen - glad you are able to write about it a bit and get your frustrations out...I am sorry you are struggling so and hope you will work though this quickly...

    Hope everyone is okay!

    Cheers!!

Am just fine here.  So glad all is well with you Beans and also NM. (Which was about as I thought.)

Nothing much to report here.  Another boring sunset over the sound and another bacon blue cheeseburger with fresh summer veggies.  Life is sure a challenge right now.  Especailly sucking down good red wine.

Relieved that all my friends in Vermont and NYC are OK......really relieved.

I just love this time of year.  Magnificent fresh fruits and veggies and glorious days.  The ripeness of late summer.

I paid my ticket and have since learned since how lucky I was.  One person hit a puppy last weekend (will be OK) and another friend knocked mirrors.  I just had to eat crow and pay up. - Claire

Heather, glad you checked in and updated. Hoping that will be your last, as well!

Astorm, good for you, kicking the snot out of that bug! But sorry DD is sick. OMG, you iron your sheets too? Wowsa! I don't think I have ever slept on ironed sheets.

Awwwww Karen........feel a big hug from all of us. I do think if you talk about it, it helps. At least a little teeny tiny bit. Glad you are at least reading. Long ago, I worked at an adult day care center, and we had a gentleman whose wife brought him in, he had Alzheimer's, and sometimes was SOOOOO belligerent towards her. But once she left, he was fine. Unfortunately, that is just one of things about the disease. My father has it too, (knock on wood) but has not gotten belligerent towards his wife. Too bad you couldn't get someone to stay with dad, and you and mom go somewhere.

Ok Kathy.......out with it! What's the nickname? We want to know! How long do you have that sweet little one for?

How about this for our DOTD?

Hi Lori, Yeah, I am a Sept baby...13th....too bad it isn't on a Friday, as I consider that lucky. Don't think my bro felt so lucky though when I was born on his 5th b'day! And back that long ago (yes there were hospitals..sheesh! lol), women stayed for DAYS in the hosp after giving birth, so I am sure he didn't like his mom being away on his b'day. She had to alternate our parties...one yr he could take his friends somewhere and my party was at home, and vice versa the next year. She always made me a "doll" cake where the doll stands up and cake is around it and all the frosting (thick!) makes the pretty dress. She did it so fancy too. Can't spill the nickname yet, you just gotta come meet us as he calls me that all the time, so you wouldn't miss it! Awwww maybe I will divulge it to ya privately!

Good morning and happy September, yippee!

One day til Chrissy comes to America! I am so excited I can't contain myself. I think I will start celebrating with that yummy JD cocktail that Kathy brought to the lounge. gulp gulp Cheers to Chrissy, gulp gulp, Cheers to Lori gulp gulp, cheers to Beanie, Astorm gulp. Oh my, I am staggering.

Beanie, dahling, I am so glad to see you back with your super funny posts. The names that Kathy has is too funny. I love your Joyman Beanglish! I love you and so glad you are posting. Don't be a stranger, you know my people will hunt you down.I am doing the happy dance (although stumbling after all those JD's) that you are NED, yippy, so much to celebrate.

Goldie, spill the beans, don't knock my Beanie over, that is my job when she is dwunk. Paybacks are fun as she has pushed me off the hammock and into the pool before. Oh, that was Chrissy, ooops. I am looking forward to seeing pics of your Shady Lady. How is she doing?

Kymn, congrat again on nearing the finish line. I am so happy that this is nearly behind you. It sucks the big one that you had to go through this but dork selfishly says that if not for BC, I would not know you. You are the lounge princess and deserve nothing but royal treatment. Pants, book a date for a spa day for our widdle princess!! Massage, mani, pedi, the works.

Kitty Kat, so glad to hear all went well. Here's a toast to 'no more surgery'. It gets old after so many and this I know. Hoping you recover quickly. Many tanks for reporting your progress. Cheers from NJ to NV!

And Kathy, soooo happy to hear that NM is alright. Looking very much forward to my dose of morning post from NM. She is very much missed here and the lounge aint quite the same without her.  I think all your names may be confusing our new friend, Scuba. lol.

Scuba is a very patient gal. I was at my PS office for PT for over two hours as she waited in the lobby for me. She is super cool, we got along just great. Her only error was to let me pick the place to grab a coffee. I was hungry as I only consumed my bag of 100 calerie Lorna doons for breakfast and did not get out of PT until after two. So me says, look at de place across the street, looks so quaint wif all the outdoor tables. So we gos in there and I looks at the menu and it might as well been written in another language. I am thinking, uh, grilled cheese sandwich. still not sure what kind of food they had but think it was all organic. Huh, no wonder I could not find anything I'd ever heard of. We settled on coffee and had a great time.  We plan on hooking up again next week as I will be having PT every Wed. But next week, I will have Chrissy B towing along so we plan on having Scuba babysit Chrissy and show her the city historical sites, Independence Hall and such while I have therapy. We also plan on getting dwunk and  making a ruckas in the city!! hehehehe. It was soooo nice meeting a bweast fwend.

Kathy, my new fwend Scuba was having issues with the drain pinching, stabbing etc. I shared with her what you told me about wrapping with an ace bandage and wala aaa, she said she tried that and slept like a baby.  I am speaking for her in saying she just loves us goils but is biddy this weekend taking some "scuba/me" time at the beach. I hope I did not scare her away hehehehe. I feel so blessed in having so many deaer friends here, I do.I will drink to that. Oh, there is a toasted marshmellow on my straw, how did that get dere??

Karen, I am praying that you find the right combo of meds. My heart hurts that you are going through so much. You are such a sweet gal and deserve peace in your mind and heart. I am going to pop into the lounge and say a prayer for you. Hang in there and keep putting one foot in front of the other. We are all here for you. Feel free to message me as well. We love you chickadee.

So I am having one 'house" issue after another. The other night, I was unplugging my outdoor lights and the whole circuit blew. I think I need the fuse replaced in the box as resetting is not working. Well that one box outdoors is also tied to the outlet in my kitchen. Ugh. So this morning, I make my coffee, it brews then just shuts down, thinking I kicked that circuit too. Hmmmm.  My contractor has not yet finished the windows or even started on knocking down the wall. So my favorite room in the house has plastic on the window, sorta ghetto. I know CB will not mind but it bothers me that my house is falling apart. I also have a broken medicine cabinet that my guy is going to replace and was hoping it would be done. Again, CB will not mind but I sure do.

I still have so much I want to get done, an appointment this afternoon for the aspiration/draining of the fluid in my back. I bought flowers real cheap and am working outdoors when I should be working inside.  My DH DD's are going to come and help me in hanging my curtains. I am bent as they were recently washed and my sister hung them, she is very good at it.  me, not so good. I am going to put in a call to my contracter and see if he can replace the medicine cabinet in the morning. He told me he had another big job and had to skip this week but did promise to get the med cab replaced this week.

I hope I did not miss anyone, I use no form of organziaztion when responding to you all so forgive me.. I just love me breast friends. Drink up, cheers! A special toast to NM for being prepared and getting through the hurricane aftermath.

    XOXO

Kathy, I went back in time to see when your b-day was. And now I remember, cuz it's the same as a friend of mine.

Ok, DH and I went for a ride yesterday, up on the same ridge. I took some pictures, but they just don't do it justice at all. I almost wasn't even going to bother posting them. You can't see the terrain, the colors, you can really see for miles and miles. I have an arrow pointing to my house in the first one. That would be looking EAST.

This one above is looking WEST. You can see a monsoon storm out there.

Here is my home again, we are coming down off the ridge and getting a little closer.

     Couldn't pass up the rainbow!

And now it's been hours since I started this, and just know I have bumped into someone! Sorry if I knocked you into the pewl! Ooops no sorries allowed!

Oh goldie ! Those are truly magnificant pictures! How interesting and so very different from Claire. I guess Kathy we need to find some Southren pictures to show off! Still trying to get the poor bird out of my house. I'm thinking this poor thing isn't very bright. Where is Dr. Doolittle when you need him! He/She it is a Robin is sitting on top of the butler's pantry and won't move. If I get a broom it just flies into the ceiling and hurts itself! Ahhh. dying with all the door open - it is hot! Will have to catch up on everybody later....
