Hi Scuby, Hi DorKie! Dwinking my Seagrams wid youse. Claire, I LOVE Salmon....but....why is it exploding??? My bro lives in Alaska and used to take lots of salmon to my parents in HI when he would visit. I love it grilled (with just some mayo smeared on it and TONS of dill ...ends up with nice and crispy skin....yummmmmm! Esp the deep red Copper River Salmon. Yes, you do have fabulous salmon in the Pacific NW! I'm so full, but that is making me hungry....LOL.

Hi all, joining you for a dwinkypoo ......... what's being served tonight? Salmon? did someone mention Salmon? I Loooooove salmon ....lol....... can eat that till I feel like I want to explode!!! Claire, are you cooking salmon? Pease have a big bite for me.....pleeeeeease.
Scubi it's good when you can sit and talk about this crap with your DH then you know exactly what he's thinking and feeling ..... it helps to lift the stress a bit.
Dotty, sure hope your arm is feeling a bit better today but take it easy as it is a slow heal. It was lovely to chat with you and I will do it again soon. ((((Hugs)))))
Kathy my BD is 12/05. What's yours? Hope your parents are doing well.
Mrs_Vino, it sounds like you had an absolute blast at the wedding! Good for you!!! Hope the trip home is uneventful.
Need to head out to get some pics of the old mine for my thread so will catch up later for another drinkypoo or two.
Love n hugs. Chrissy

No, not Main Squeeze, but a cycling buddy of mine. He is happily married, but needs to get outside the confines of his marriage. His wife doesn't cycle. She is also extremely overweight as is one of their daughters. Really....just platonic. I was touched that he had me review his offer letter.
Main Squeeze is still down for the count with Round 2 of 6.
Explosions were really from the oven.
I decided to pass on bicycle fundraising event. Where cycling buddy was headed. Too much other stuff going on.
Salmon was exploding from broiler heat. Ate half and have leftover for sandwiches next week. A bit woosy as drank up the leftover white wine.
Had salmon with dill and caper sauce. Plus grilled peppers etc, potatoes, and leftover kale. Was delish.
Salmon was sockeye and could have been from the Copper River. Just delish.
Still noodling a contact I need to make. Will wait until I do my major ride tomorrow. Meanwhile TitZ up. - Claire

Thanks Chrissy, writing it down right now! Mine was last month, on the 13th. Fun when it lands on a Friday!!! I so loved all your journal entries and photos. Can't wait to see what you post of your part of the world!!! Did you tell me before that you are about a 2hr drive from Adelaide? We loved Adelaide, but was so cold and windy the day we went to the beach there.....frigid. Gorgeous though, and I love all the historic bldgs there. Oh, and the frog cake.....yummmmm! Thanks for asking about my parents, they are doing really well right now. Didn't want to be away overnight in Nashville, as my DD and her family are at Disney World for a few days, so if my parents needed someone, we all would be out of state. That's why I am just seeing Lori and her DH for awhile tomorrow afternoon. Would have been nice to be together longer, but I be happy with the bit of time that we will have!! I really, really wish I could have met you too!
Hugs,
Kathy

Hey Loungettes, anyone still awake? Or in Bernie's case, up yet? Morning Bernie and cheers to you. Have had the opportunity to visit your beautiful country a few times, last time we flew into Belfast and went up along the coast, just spectacular, the Giants Causeway in Antrim in the early morning, think I had to buy more memory for the camera, took so many photos!
Mrs_Vino, glad you had a blast, so the student hooked up with the teacher? Actually met my DH via my sister, my DH was one of her then (now xDH's roommates), they didn't last too long, we are hitting 20 yrs next month, who knew. Hope you are resting and safe travels home. Will watch out for the next scrabble move, even if you are kickin my a$$!
My bday is next month on 18th, it's on a Friday this year, partay at my house! Hope you can all make it. DorK, will work on my costume for your bday partay, photos to follow!
Karen, good to hear from you, hope you have great trip to see the folks. Hope the cabernet
worked its charms and you are sleeping.
Lori and Kath, have a blast in Nashville, will be joining you virtually for a drink this afternoon! Safe travels!
Unfortunately, sleepless night after such a good day. (Chrissy it does help to talk sometimes, think DH felt better, cant wait for more photos on your thread, kind of a sneak preview in hopes of getting their myself soon). Debating whether to take anything or not, now nearly 4 a.m. and have a lot to do today, these stupid TE's feel like rocks right now, can't get comfortable, exchange can't come fast enough! Oh well, Pants, pour me a stiff one, maybe an Irish whiskey of some sort? Slainte! (spell check just tried to make that slant, how lame would that have been?). Luv to all, Scuby0 -
Just dropping in for a quick skim through the posts before heading off to work. My b-day is Feb 20th. Welcome BernieEllen! Did anyone get bumped into the pool over there? Lots of bumping and laughing going on!
Later, Loungettes!
PS--Corn maze was great fun, my knees are STILL complaining to me about it, though! I just pop some tylenol and tell them to shut up.
0 -
Welcome Bernie! Pull up a bar stool and tell me about yourself. I sure hope you hang with us at the lounge - it would b so nice to have an Irish chichadee with us. We have Kymn from Canada and chrissy b from Australia, the diversity is so cool for us and the more the merrier!!
NM, glad to see you pop in, hope the work is minimal for you today. sorry about your knees, thinking the dotd needs to be set up next to the percotini fountain. I am sore too.
Scuba, so sweey of you to be driver to your sweet dh but sorry the driving whipped you. join me at the percotini fountain.sorry you have so much to do. i hope u can toss your bucket and get in the hot tub and soak those "turtle shells" aka TE's.
Karen, so nice to see you. I hope the visit with your parents goes well as can be. I will be praying that they are doing well and that seeing them does not add to any emotional pain. if you ever want to talk, pm me as I can really relate with all that is happening to mine. I wish you were in the pics chrissy posted, would love to see you ...would rather meet u in person but we all know how that goes.
debating on getting to church. It is close enough to make the drive, less than a mile away.but i look a mess and it is hard to clean up w/ one arm. not yet ready to stand in the shower with a hefty bag on my arm. wish the htl had a nurses aid to give me a sponge bath, fix my crazy hair and help me dress. oh, don't forget that i would need to bring a fat pillow with me to keep my arm comfy....hmmmm, what to do? God is telling me "come little girl, no one cares what you look like or smell like " lol.
Peace, cheers and blessings to all my breast fwends!!
0 -
LOL DorK, its not a "nurses aide" you need....its JOCK!!!! Hope you do feel like going to church, I am one that is bad about not going when I don't feel my best. But the important thing is BEING THERE, not as important about how we look. Hope the pain is lessening up. Poor dear, wish I could help ya!
Nice of NM to be able to check in on a WEEKEND....woohoo, it really is good hearing from you! Hope your knees settle down and behave soon.....but I know you had sooooo much fun, it was prolly worth all the pain. Yeah, I think DorK and I bumped ea other into the pool several times last night. LOL.
Best of all the loungettes, gotta run for REAL or I won't get to go to Nashville!!!

DD#2 has tons of homework to get done today, but she desperately wants to go shopping at the outlet mall, so she got up at 7:00am to start working on her homework!!! unbelievable....missing so much school for the holidays is hard....she has to make up all the work she misses and turn it all in the day she returns plus any long term projects!!! She is an honors student and just missed getting straight A's for the 1st 9 weeks......and she was annoyed!!! she is such a perfectionist!!! We will leave to go shopping around 11 or maybe noon...its 1/2 drive but she has to be back by 3:15 so will only have a few hours (lucky for me).....
Dork.....I have a pic of Chrissy and me...will try to see if I can post it.....and yes I want to meet everyone in person.....DD#2 will be in NJ next week-end visiting friends....I think it will become an annual trip as it is the second year she will be there the end of October.....We are going to Columbus the beginning of November for our nieces Bat Mitzvah and last night my SIL told my DH to see what he thinks about his mom as she thinks she is beginning to decline...MIL is 83, will be 84 in December...she lives in her own house and I don't think she will move out on her own accord unless its in a pine box!!!! She has never driven, so thats nothing new....DH will have a day or so alone with her till DD#1 and SIL arrive to visit with her, then DD#2 and I arrive last.....it will be a quick trip for me
My b'day is May 8th....
BernieEllen....welcome
Scuba....when is your exchange? I absolutely hated, just hated my expanders.....I almost deconsructed when I had them.....I've had this set of implants for just over 3 years....and they are so much softer.....after the post surgery bra and wearing a bra 24/7 for the 1st month, I don't wear one....why I still have them in my drawer is beyone me....I tend to wear cami's or sleeveless shells under my tops.....just doesn't feel right at my old middle age to just wear a top and nothing underneath.....I remember after my exchange surgery, the Ps coming into the recovery room and taking my left arm to feel the right side and commenting how soft!!! I have small implants...in clothes you can't tell they aren't real...mine are 200cc mid profile....didn't like perky...first set were 300cc high profile and was too self-conscious....
who ever commented about hoping the cabernet did the trick and I was sleeping well....NOT....I woke up 3 or 4 times...I sleep like a baby!!! waking up every 2 hours!!!! so the wine isn't working...the ambien and ativan didn't work the other night!!! oh well...insomnia is rearing its ugly head again.......
Well....I need to get busy and do some things in the house....laundry....cleaning....you know all those fun things....Have a great Sunday....

I get to be the first one to say Happy Birthday and cheers to you, congrats on your wedding anniversary too, that must have been a very special day for you and the folks who love you. I hope you are enjoying a lovely day!
Hope Goldie(Lori) and Wahine (Kathy) are safely on the road to Nashville (everyone has lots of names, especially Wahine!). Cheers to all.
Am still in my pajamas after a lousy night, got to get my arse moving!0 -
Happy birthday and anniversary Bernie! How cool that you married on your 50th! Thanks for the shot of Jameson, I neede that.
Karen, where in NJ will your DD be? Hope you are able to sleep, you poor girl. Nothing worse than being sleep deprived.
Lori and Kathy, don't get tooooo dwunk ~ Kathy is your DH coming? You need a driver? I can sent you the hlt limo. Have fun ~as if I have to tell you.
I want to be able to get my dd's bday gifts together b4 she gets home from work and goes back to college. We are celebrating again today. Her father was here yesterday so we celebrating yesterday. Scuby made me realize what a big celebration this is - in two days, I can say we made it through the teenage years as dd will be 20. can not believe it, the times is flying by.
I made it to church but skipped out before it was over .( I am feeling very nauseated again and my arm and stewpid leg were hurting). I brought a pillow from my sofa, was not tall or thick enough to properly support the damn arm. I am going back to bed for a bit. A shame as it is beautiful out.
So when does the parTAY start for Bernie?? I think we can pull this off with the assistance from our loyal tenders. CheerZ!

Bernie - welcome and happy birthday/ anniversary!
Had a nice dinner last night with our friends. They brought their 10 YO daughter who is a real cutie... thought she might steal WD though, they really hit it off. The cats spent the evening on top of the piano. Planned to roast a chicken but it was 90 degrees here so I made salmon and opened some pinot. I bought half a case of this local pinot (& it was pricey). It was cloudy and starting to lose its fruit so I guess I'll have to open the other bottles ... any takers?
0 -
DorK.....the effort counts too. Sorry you are still hurting so much. YIKES.
Had a busy day. Got up for church prior to heading out for a long ride. Had trouble getting going and initially put my new cycling tights on backwards!!! Now, I fully appreciate what the expression "knickers in a twist" really means. The saddle pads DO NOT work reversed.
Loved them, and I think reflective in low light. Ride was great too......a bit more than 40 miles. Arlington has bars and espresso joints (this is WA State) but little in the way of food. I ended up in a vegetarian place in a converted church. The place was decorated for Halloween, and there was some sort of environmentalist club meeting there. I felt I was in a seance. Pizza was good though.
Suspect I will sleep just fine. Whole body is feeling the exercise. The fall colors are so pretty, and so is the light. Heavenly to be out riding.
Think I will eat a scone for now. DorK.....steak tonight and you are welcome to join me. - Claire

Will catch up with y'all later! Thanks Scuby for playing words with friends with me on the car ride! It really helped pass the time! Muah! xoxoxoxoxo

Hi Girlzzzz!
Bernie, Happy Happy Birthday and Happy Happy Anniversary!!! It is not midnight yet, so I got home just in time to wish you the best.
Lori and I had a GREAT time....we chatted for SEVEN HOURS!!! Even called DorK and both of us got to talk to her at the same time. Lori is beautiful, inside and out, and soooooo tall and slim! And her DH and my DH got along just fine (did they have a choice? Of course not! LOL). I am so glad we finally got to meet in person, it was awesome. We had champagne, several Miller Lites (for Junie), and more dwinks downstairs, and a pizza! Was a purrrrrfect day. Safe travels tomorrow Lori, both flying home and then your long drive. So glad I got to be with you today!!
Gonna ketchup on my recorded shows....DH already is in bed....but I have a bit of a headache. Could it be from dwinking toooo much??? Nah.....
Luv you Girlz,
Kathy

Kath and Lori, that is so great, what a special gift to get a real hug in addition to the cyber ones (they all work!). Lori safe travels on the last pieces til home. Short chck in to say top of the morning. Am heading to Toronto for work on Tuesday early, first flight since June, hopefully no TSA crud like NM reported.
Allison, glad you are home but even happier you had such a blast! Happy to help pass the time, was a lay low day for me yesterday anyway.
DorK, hope you are resting, healing and not hurting!
Bernie, hope the day was great! We have no hangovers in the HTL, so hope you are having a good morning.
Hope I did not miss anything! Luv to all.
NM, am already waiting for an update on the corn maze, hoping you have time for a post.
Cheers, Scuby0 -
Thanks to everyone for the good wishes. Had a great day yesterday. Back to the burning today - only 11 more sessions to go. Should be nice and crispy for Halloween

Good Morning!
Scuby, Hope you enjoy your trip to Toronto, and it isn't only work, work, and more work! It is such a fascinating city. Is that where our Kymn lives? I forget, but SOMEONE that was in the lounge was from Toronto. If so, wouldn't that be neat if you could meet her!
DorK, Foigot to tell ya that we DID give each other a hug and kiss on the cheek from YOU as you requested. That was sweet that you wanted us to do that.
Girlzzzzzz, we not only toasted with ML's to Junie, but toasted all of you as well. Didn't mean to stay so long talking, and hope Lori and her DH got enuf sleep for their early flight today. BUT we never ran out of stuff to talk about, and it was so awesome being together, that it was hard to think of leaving!! WIsh I had a chance to get my hair cut before we met, but GOTTA get it cut this week, as I'm so overdue. Have some dr appts too, plus have not seen my parents for a couple of days, so I need to ketchup with them too. Other than when CasinoGirl (Donna) or Jaybird return to post here, Junie used to be the longest (time-wise) poster here, followed by me, and then Lori. I think HunkyD and Dee were next, followed by..........? Some of you loungettes have been here a long time and added so MUCH to the HTL in its early stages, but I just can't remember when everyone started joining in here. SO glad we have kept this lounge going, and keep it fun, crazy, and give lots of support to each other.
ChEARS to ALL you DEARS here!!!
Kathy

OOPS didn't mean t bump into ya, Bernie! Happens a lot here.....hope I didn't accidentally push you into the pool. But then again, maybe Pants would be diving in to carry you out, and that ain't half bad! LOL. We aren't allowed to say *sorry* here, but hope ya know I didn't mean to bump you! Slainte!0
-
Wanted to post a link to the HTL video that Lori put together. So, any of you new gals can see what the Hot Tatties Lounge is all about. Have made some additions since then, but this covers most of what we have here....it is awesome, and so glad Lori took the time to make this video.....

Good Morning, Loungettes! Nice, mostly calm weekend at work. Only had to call 911 once. On the down side, got the info about the new "self insured" health insurance system that work will be changing to on Jan 1st, and not ONE of my docs is in the system. ALL my care will be Out Of Network in this system. And I live in Maine so finding a health insurance plan I can buy individually is going to be HUGE load of work, even with only 2 companies selling in Maine. Looks like I just got a new project to work on. Sigh.

DorK-good idea to move the percotini fountand and the DOTD fountain next to each other so we can alternate! And maybe we can have both moved over by the hot tub. . . . I know there is nothing like a good shower, but you can get clean smelling using baby wipes. I've also seen grown up wipes, essentially baby wipes with more mature scents than baby powder. Take you comb and brush and whatever to church with you and when someone asks "Anything I can do to help" you can say "Yes, help me with my hair, PLEASE!" And you are right, God doesn't care what you look or smell like, and I doubt anyone in the congregation does, either.

Wahine-Yes, the maze was definitely worth the pain (that I'm STILL having, what's that all about?) I have so much fun with those boys. It's amazing to me that they are 9 and 11 now, I still think of them as 5 and 6 years old! Great to reconnect with their mom and dad, too. Anyway, Tylenol does a good job at calming down the aching so I get along ok.

Karen-DD#2 sounds like a very motivated and talented young lady! Perfectionism is a harsh slave master, though. I know grades are everything while you are in school, but they become almost meaningless after graduation. So much energy and worry expended on something with so little gain! Not that I'd ever tell a student that! I have a box tucked away in a closet in the spare room with all my mastectomy bras, the pocketed gowns/johnnies that I had to wear after recon to manage the drains, the prosthesis I used for over a year, heaven knows what else. Can't quite get rid of it, can't give it away, don't want to look at it. Can't imagine every needing any of it again. Not sure what that's about but there it is. Insomnia is no fun, hope your bout gets over quickly.

BernieEllen-Congrats on the B-day and the anniversary! What a special day that became for you!

Scuba-Who gave you a bad night? Where do we need to send Dork's "People"? I've actually started a "scorecard" so I can keep track of all the players here, with all their various names! A work in process as I figure things out.

AStorm-I'll try some of the pinot! I bet it was still good. Don't blame you for not roasting a chicken in that heat.

Claire-I cannot imagine what biking pants feel like on backwards, but it must be very odd indeed! I would love to visit WA state and try some of the coffees, I love good coffee. I caffeinated myself right into a case of insomnia myself yesterday/last night, but I just could not resist after passing the 4th Dunkin Donuts in 15 minutes. I'm so weak~

Mrs Vino-Glad you have a great time and a good ride, can't wait to hear the details!

WAhine-Hooray for a great get together! Seven hours of chatting? Sounds about right for us!

Love the video, got it bookmarked on my computer!
Princess Glitter Sizzle says the DOTD is the Chatterbox:
1 oz Spiced Rum
1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao
3 oz Orange Juice
1 1/2 oz Club SodaPour the rum, creme de cacao and orange juice into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Add club soda, stir again gently, and serve.

Good Morning ladies, welcome Bernie think I saw you on another thread a few months ago. Happy Belated birthday and anniversary.
Well I made it through another weekend, they certainly are the hardest too much time to think. The rat bastard is now living across the street from me at one of our friends....I use the term lightly as he is a snake if you ever met one....house. He didnt make the trailor payment on friday so I had to fork out 200 cause my name is still on it, still fighting to get my name off of it and as I want to assume the mortgage I need to keep my credit good with the bank. He have me this huge sob story on wed about how broke he was he had no money for food, nowhere to stay etc etc wanting me to switch mortgage payments with him. I didnt thank god as I found out he went to Edmonton about 5 hours away from here to watch an Oilers and Rangers hockey game with a friend....hmmmm no money hey....nice. I am just a sucker and am getting pretty pissed off at my heart it is time to freakin catch up cause I am sick and tired of being sad over this asswhole. I mean what is wrong with me, he treated me like crap, has been cruel beyond belief why on earth is my heart still missing him???????? I am messed up .
Dorothy so glad to see you are feeling better, Kathy how are the folks? Thanks Goldie I like the blond too will be excited when I have a bit more to work with. Scuba I joined you in the tub last night did you feel me kicking you lol. Mrs Vino unfortunelty I havent gotten a chance to get to know you yet but you sound awsome...Gail...hmmm I think I missed what is going on with you right now hope all is well. Chrissy so glad you had a great trip and are home safe and sound. Claire you still amaze me with all your energy do you still bike in the winter???
Ok off to get some work done just really needed to touch base with all of you, sorry if my brain forgot some
Hugs Kymn
