Morning Breasties! And hello to Chrissy, I joined the HTL while you were traveling, can't wait to meet you! I love rasberry flavored vodka and lemon; Pants, make sure you pack that on the bus!

Thank you all sooooooo much for the prayers. I could feel the Love all the way down here in KY!! And soooo happy no bone problems!! Now the question is why all the pain? They say SE from meds. Think I will try acupuncture.

Sending prayers to you this am DorK! You are gonna be just fine! Wrap your arms around yourself and squeeze while you still can; that's a big ginormous hug from me! It's about 8:30 your time, so you are prob on way to hospital. Why they make you get there so darn early is beyond me, but the sooner you're there, the sooner they will hook you up to the goodies ;-)

Waiting to hear from oncologist today. They think it could be months before my WBC comes up, happens to a low percent of patients; LUCKY ME!!!! lol. Anyway, they are trying to get other shots approved by insurance. If approved, I will get shots 3-5 days before surgery and hope it boosts my counts! The tentative surgery date is now Nov. 3rd.

Don't know that I've said this before, but I am a nail technician. Have been doing nails for almost 20 yrs, and majority of my clients have been with me that entire time. I pay booth rent, and the owner of the shop where I work is also a very dear friend. With all the complications, DH and I decided I would not go back to work until chemo and last surgery was over. Rick, (shop owner) agreed, and is not charging me rent for the space until I come back, which is HUGE!! The other two girls I work with have been working in my clients for me. Well, when we first came up with this plan, I thought I would be healed and ready to go back to work by the first of November. That's the thing about cancer, you can't plan around it!! So DH and I talked to Rick, and went to the shop, got all of my stuff, and set up a little shop in our basement! I am only going to do a select few clients, which is why I'm doing them here, not the shop. Don't want other clients mad if I don't do them. First client and dear friend Velma will be here at 8:45 this am! The basement is where my DD plays, and she wrote "mom's nail shop" on her chalkboard!

Also, we have very dear friends getting married this Saturday in Dallas, Texas, and we have decided to go! Picking up DD from school a little early, and off we go! About 12 hour drive. My dad is coming today to stay with our dogs, also great! We should get back late Sunday night. Velma is bringing me some outfits to try on this am, as I have nothing right now that fits, but thats ok. Did I mention my clients are going to pay me in cash? Will be so nice to have a little spending $$! This no working is killing us financially!

Well, didnt mean to be a page hog, just had lots to say, and will be getting ready for Texas today. Will check in when I can. Maybe on my iphone in the car. Hang in there DorK! And Scuby, your post cracked me up too! Cheers!!

Morning GIrlzzz! Yes Scuby, I was in the back of the bus with the boys......sheesh I can't get away with nuthin'! LOL. Verrrrry early, trying to wake up with a bit of Joe, then will switch to Jack (Daniels). Bu t the bus came to my house soooooo early, glad I didn't miss it! DorK, how ya doing this morn? You will be in lala land soon, and we will be holding your hand (your good hand) all thru the surgery. Prayers and hugs to you, girlfriend! And we have Juliet with us now....do you know we get teeny tiny and go right into surgery (hiding) so we can be with DorK and make sure the drs do their very best work?

Don't forget the big partay at my house tonight, since DH is away! We will not even have to be quiet as DorK will be loopy and won't mind the noise. Hoping all the MIA's will show up for the party. And Kymn, bring in your BR ideas and we will give you our 2 cents worth.....might even show up to help you paint! Well, gotta wake up and get going so I can paint with my mom. Only doing it to get her motivated. It is 62 in the house this am, but NOT putting heat on, since DH is away I can get away with having a cold house! We might have frost outside this week....but will be 70 again by Monday I think.

ChEARS Dears, Suck Em Up, Bottomz Up, Rump Rise, Titz Up, Ghug-A-Lug, Dwink, Dwink, Dwink,

    Kathy

Allison, How awesome that you can start having clients come to YOU! Great! And glad you can go to the wedding in Dallas...we are about a 12 hr drive from there also, as my DD and family live near Dallas. Have a good trip, and check in when you can!

Good morning, Loungettes! I'm sitting here catching up on e-mail and postings and such with the rain coming down and the wind picking up. The desk lamp is flickering occasionally, so I expect the power will go out eventually today. But until it does, I ‘m going to plug along here.

DorK-HOORAY for release! One of the things I love the most about my recon is the smaller breasts and NO BRA NEEDED! Sounds like it was quite a procedure getting it off, good for you for finding a way! WTG, girl!

Wahine-I avoid wearing a coat as long as possible. As long as I don't wear a coat I don't have to admit it's winter yet. But when the wind comes up, I usually have to reconsider-wear a coat and admit to the change in seasons or suffer hypothermia? Sometimes the internal debate takes HOURS!

Chrissy! Welcome Home! I had so much fun following your travels, and am so glad you got to meet so many breast friends! The Tenders have been hoarding the Raspberry Vodka just for your return, I'm sure you'll have a pitcherful soon-oops, here's Jock now!

AStorm-when I flew back from Vegas I opted out of the scanning machine, so I got the pat down. I asked for a private one (I don't like being stared at while being patted down). 2 female TSA workers came in, one to witness and one to do the patdown. The one doing the pat down (why do they call it a pat DOWN when they start at your feet and work UP?) was respectful, professional, and told me everything she was doing. It wasn't great fun but it was better than most doctor's appointments I've had. Only took about 5 minutes. And she asked if there was anywhere I had pain or any medical equipment before she started. So "opting out" of the scanner may be an option for you. It really wasn't the "groping" that I've heard people talk about, although that is a matter of perspective, I suppose.

Scuba-Thanks for the Grand Marnier, wonderful treat to sit in the hot tub and sip! Great idea to make today an awesome day! I'm in, for sure. I think we had reclining seats with foot rests installed in the bus so those of us who need to put feet up could do so in style. I think there are little, miniature drink fountains next to each reclining seat, with a choice of Percotini, DOTD, or DOYC (drink of your choice).

DorK-It is so wrong that all your personal stuff disappeared like that. Is there any way to file a loss notice or a complaint about your personal stuff going missing? I know you may never get it back, but having a notice/complaint on file means the employer has to look into the situation and if it happens again they must take some kind of action. I'm with you when it comes to alcohol with the Xanax before surgery. I don't even bother to try to sleep the night before, not worth the aggravation. I read, listen to audiobooks, watch TV, wish I could drink something, try not to think about the IV process, pray a lot. And I understand about being tired of the scalpel. I understand about being afraid of the outcome.

Hey, Lord, it's me again! Can I talk to You about Dork for a minute? She's going into surgery in an hour or so and she's kinda scared. She's lost some friends to death recently, and I'm sure that's in the back of her mind, too. Like me, she's really tired of all the surgery stuff and would like to be done with it but has more to go. Can YOU please take special care of her today? And for the next few weeks, until she gets the use of her ela-bow and hand back? I'm going to jump on the bus and hide in her pocket, can I tuck YOUR spirit into one of my pockets to share with her today? Please guide the hands of her surgeons and the hands and hearts of all the people taking care of her today. Thanks for all YOUR help, all YOUR grace and all YOUR peace.

Mrs. Vino-Hooray for good bone scan results! Don't you just love finding out you are one of the minority with a complication of treatment? How sweet of your DD to put up a sign for your temporary booth! And a wedding to attend, how fun! It is so nice to have positive things to look forward to during treatment.

DorK, thinking of you, good luck, hope the OR ain't too crowded, the HTL bus only bumped a few cars while we were parking in the lot. Cheers, be well and amen to NM's prayer.

Mrs_Vino, great to see you, missed it earlier. Partay today and all weekend. While we are waiting for DorK, can I get a manicure? Oops, I think might not be a good idea since you have been on the bus for a while....

    Cheers.

Checking in to wish DorK the best of luck with the surgery.

Feeling so up from last night.  So wonderful to greet the "newest priest on the planet" in the words of the bish.  She started the process back in 1979 when she went to seminary.  Then got sidetracked.  The bish gave a wonderful sermon about "unfinished business".

Then one of the ladies I know from church just got engaged.  They are both in their 50s and I think a first marriage for each of them.  They are planning on a January date when the newly renovated nave will be back in operation.

I have a networking luncheon in a few.  Should be interesting.

Wishing everyone the greatest day. - Claire

Oh Kymn, GAWGEOUS!!!! You look BEEUTIFUL.....love the blonde, and your hair is growing out enough to look stylish! Way to go, girlfriend....you rock that look. You are on the mend, just baby steps, but you were able to have a nice smile in the picture, which you prolly couldn't have done a few weeks ago. And that sly look.....watch out boys, here comes Kymnie!!!! Thanks for posting your picture--just stunning.

DorK, I was painting for 2 hrs, started right when your surg appt was. Only way to get my mom working on HER painting, is to paint alongside her. But mine get done in 2 hrs, as they are simple, not so beautiful like hers will be. Hoping all went well, and you are in recovery and feeling no pain. Love and Hugs to you!!!

NM, awesome post!!! SO glad you didn't lose power, so you could do such a nice post. Loved all the pics and cartoons! Esp the dog that had the awesome day! And I love the pic of Jock serving Chrissy a drink, in her lounge chair....we need that one up on the wall in the HTL. Will join you in some AWESOME DAY dwinkies!

In and out again today. Had to be at my mom's early, then home for lunch, then get ready to go back to their house for Pau Hana, and out to dinner. Have less than 3 hrs to do stuff here, so hope to organize a bit in the garage. Tomorrow will be busy with my mom all day, then DH will be home. Usually I get SO MUCH done at home when he is gone, but not this time! Better to spend it with my parents while they are here!

Waiting to hear from our Dorothy.....

    Ciao, and Cheers!

YAY, you are back safe and sound, DorK!!!! Hate that it took the surgery with the longer recovery time, though. You are such a trooper, thank you so much for letting us know you made it through okay!!!! I started happy hour early (shhhhhh).....well it IS Happy Hour 24/7 at the HTL anyway. SO I can definately (ouch, you do not have to twist my arm, silly!) dwink extra for youse, dear Dork! I thought since I will be driving tonight, did not want to have Pau Hana at my parents and then have to drive right away. Good thinking, huh? Did NOT want to miss having some dwinks, thats for sure!

Lisa, Love your idea of just painting the middle finger! What hap that made you so upset? Ya know, DorK can still use the phone and can call her people, who can join your people and take care of the SOB!

Partying with DorK and Kymn at Kathy's house - epic and awesome! Kymn, enjoy the wine, you deserve it. Hope you really are relaxing. DorK, you are fun one or two handed. Hope your damned ela-bow minds it's business and does hurt too much. Oh look, Kath, good thing you got a big house, think the HTL bus is starting to unload ALL of the loungettes plus the tenders, good thing we have never ending alcohol, everyone looks thirsty. I am celebrating with a champagne style beer Boon Gueze, it's wonderful. Here's to DorK healing and Kymn partying, both are very good things.

    Luv all!

Hymn, your hair looks great! Beautiful girl!

We decided to leave at midnight. DH is going to sleep a few hours first. We didn't want to end up in Memphis at 1 or 2 in the am and get sleepy; not a good idea. So just wanted to check in. Been drinking some homemade blackberry wine tonight, YUM! Packed a few bottles for the bus, I mean we do have a few hours before our trip......

Allison, You should have left some time to stop in Tunica and stay in the casinos....thats where my DH is right now. Just about 30 min S of Memphis. SO, how far a drive is it to Memphis for you? Would be fun to meet up in Tunica some day! It takes us almost 5 hrs to get there. Have a safe trip to TX!!!!

OMG, I didn't know my house could fit so many people! But what fun~!!!! The Tattie Tenders made themselves right at home, and now know where everything is, so they can take care of us. Gotta get Karen outta the kitchen though....her time to rest. Karen, you DO NOT need to cook for everyone at our party....just relax....LOL. ALthough I bet your cooking is better than the Wenches can do! DorK, Glad you got comfy on the reclining sofa....don't get up for anything....you get to be waited on hand (even the sore one) and foot. I just got home, so was glad you all knew where to come! Let's get this party started!!!!!!!

DorK, with only one arm, you are swinging from Kathy's chandelier, wow, our PT people would be impressed, or is it the ludes you took on the bus ride? Glad you could make it (in spirit at least!). Kath, was going to turn in but think I will head to the hot tub (we did bring the big one from the bus, right?), but are the tigers still using it? Hmmmmm. Pants, NM needs reinforcements for her personal DOTD fountain, get on it! Stat (been in enuf medical places last few months, I am entitled)!

Maybe jus cuz I work for an insurance company, I think you want us on the ground floor of your house or passed out on the bus - yo, Mrs_Vino, time for that blueberry wine? Ooohh lala, Jock, we all want some big ole glasses of that, looks yummy. Hey Kymn, you get the first sip! (figure Allison was part of the quality control team before it got bottled!). Kymn - Gawwjuss! No, HOT!

NM - thanks for the tip. I was hoping security would look more like this

Had my eye exam today & then went back to work so now I feel sick. Did you know there is such a thing as "eye mets"? BC - the gift that just keeps giving. Well I don't have any but the opto now wants to see me annually -- for that and the thinning retina. Oh, but the good news is I get new glasses. Still like my old ones but they are scratched :(

Gotta go read DD's essay and comment before she goes to sleep...
