Becca and bdavis, you both look great. Thanks for the pics and inspiration. Hey, maybe I will try a blonde shade also.

Cath.. I am blond, but wanted a highlighting to brighten my hair and give more dimension... Plus there is this aggravating gray shade that is creeping in here and there... I am not into that.

Bdavis, I know what you mean about the grey. I was a light golden brown before chemo, with the odd little area of grey. Now I am dishwater grey--quite a shock. I have been toying with dying it an edgy blonde/white but I don't know if I have the nerve. I keep thinking, I've already been bald, could picking the wrong hair colour REALLY be worse than that?

All of you look beautiful! Everyone's hair looks so thick. I am starting to get a bit of growth at 8 weeks pfc:(  I still look bald, but now some dark hair is coming in with the white, thought it was coming back all white so I am really happy to see the dark!

my hair is super curly... so today was great cause after the highlighting and a trim, she used product and blew it out... straightening it out some. I use product everyday, but the round brush I had was too big to work with the dryer, so I am now the proud owner of a small round brush... so we'll see if I can reproduce what the stylist did... I hate the awkward growing out length... it was actually easier when it was super short... at least then it looked edgy.

bdavis, have you tried using a hair straightener (flat iron)? Might be easier than blow drying.

I have tried ironing it.. its too short. You should see the curls. I know this picture doesn't give my curls the credit they deserve, but they are tight up against my scalp... so... I nearly burn myself trying to iron it... maybe another inch or two and I'll be golden.

bak94, you and I are on the same schedule. 8 wks pfc yesterday for me.  I thought I was coming in all white also, but now that hair is maybe 1/2 inch I am starting to see some darker ones.  Hmmm, will I now be a salt-and-pepper 54 yr old?

I know I don't post a lot on this thread anymore. I'm still keeping my hair short (although my stylist is finally keeping my bangs longer). I will say my hair is thicker than ever. My stylist actually had to thin it out. I had puffy hair!

But my real reason for posting today is I wanted to let you know I do lurk and love seeing everyone's hair grow back. There's not one of you that don't look fabulous, really. Amazing how we can all pull of short hair, well not really. According to my Looks Good Feel Better gal it's all about the face… granted I still think I looked like Gollum when I was bald Tongue out

Happy Holidays everyone. Be sure to be a survivor by actually living your life. That's what surviving means.

    beccasgm,

You look  beautiful, I just don't know what do with my short stuff.  I just started going topless a couple of weeks ago but, my head and neck get so cold inbetween hot flashes that I have my hat on, hat off all day long.  Have a great Christmas.

    Lots of hugs  Pam

I've always had dead straight hair, no wave, no curl, and not much body to it so now what has returned post Chemo, I was treating it as I always had done: brushing it, but I seeing a lot of frizz. Then yesterday, I was given the tip to NOT brush it at all but just run my fingers through it to smooth it down. So I did that after my shower today and OMG - today, beautiful waves and NO FRIZZ. Golly, I've never had wavy or curly hair so who knew how to handle it, I didn't that's for sure, this is all so new!! Anyhow, I thought that might help someone else.

E84351C1.jpg image by pumela115A6684F5F.jpg image by pumela115Merry Christmas!!! Wow i haven't been here in a long time. Everyone's hair looks so beautiful. This is my hair at 11 months PFC. I just got a foil and i'm not sure if the pictures do the color justice. I didn't like it when i first got it done, but it's growing on me. no pun intended, ok maybe. Before cancer i would have never done these colors. I'm just having fun with it now. I finally have bangs! They took the longest. Like most of you,my hair came in very curley and kinky, but I found a mini flat iron at Walgreens and it works great! Please keep posting your progress as i look foward to seeing everone's hair grow. I hope everyone has a Merry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Has anyone gotten thicker hair after chemo? Mine used to be quite thin before. I am 15 weeks post chemo and I do not know if my hair is going to be thicker. My husband says it looks like I have more hair than before chemo.

Pumela i love the color. I am about a month ahead of you.

mkw1 I am pretty sure mine came in a little thicker than before. It was hard to tell at first because when my hiar is shorter it feels thicker and healthier. But now  yeat later Ican feel it is fuller than before.  I think as I was getting older my hair was slowly thinning and now it feels like it was when I was a child. Kind of a do over lol.

Happy Holidays everyone. Here is hoping for a happy and healthy new year for us all.

    cheers!

mkw1 my hair was always quite think but it's so think right now that my hair dresser actually thinned it out when I got it cut on Monday. Even he said it's much thicker. Also the areas that had receded on me almost completely filled in. Funny but a few years ago when the receding started the dermatologists said there was nothing I could do (other than Minoxidil). Who knew chemo would put it all back!

Pumela you hair looks wonderful. I think the color is fun. I'd be at least where you are now but I keep cutting it. I'm 11 months PFC too.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments.

mkw1- my hair is sooo thick, i think i have enough hair for 3 people!!

Lago- i have had 4 hair cuts and she has to thin mine out all the time. I think we are just about on the same schedule. I like my hair better short too, i don't think i will grow it long for a while and it is so much easier to take care of.

Carrol, Tracie and Ksmattews, your guy's hair looks so good!!!

    Happy Holidays!!!!
