So, I said I'm 8 weeks, but I looked on a calendar and I'm actually 10 weeks (DOH!). I'll blame it on chemofog...hee!

Michelle, thanks for the pics!!! Your 5week PFC is what I look like now, but black with tinsel (ie: gray) interspersed around my head. I can't wait until it fills in more. I will be so stoked when I can't see my scalp!

On an icky note...I saw my PS today for my one week follow up after surgery. He didn't take out the drain. I'm at 50cc/day and he said I need to be at 30cc/day. Hopefully, by Friday. That would be an awesome gift for the holiday!

Hi ladies - just wanting to share my hair success.  yesterday I went for the first time to church with no wig, and today to work.  Tons of wonderful/kind people giving me nice feedback.  I think I heard 12 times, you look like Jamie Lee Curtis!  Unfortunately my hair is the end of the resemblance :).  My hair didn't grow a peep unti 6 1/2 weeks PFC and I'm topless less than 17 weeks PFC.  My hair is salt and pepper, and mostly straight.  I'm sort of liking it so far.  A young man at the grocery store said to me tonight, wow, I love your hair and I want hair like that.  I told him no he didn't, it's from chemo and his jaw dropped.  He said no way, you look great!  I told him it was only my second day without a wig and he made my day.  We smiled and high fived. :)

It feels great to be out and about in your own skin/hair.

    Congrats on a successful journey!

Michelle... your hair is so straight. I am jealous. I will post soon of all my curls. At first, my hair was straight, and then OH BOY.. now it is crazy curly at 7 months PFC.

Betsy - don't get too jealous.  I seriously doubt that it will stay straight, as it was curly pre-chemo.  I would be absolutely shocked if it stayed straight!

Ladies, I just got home from the hairdresser where I had my extensions fitted. They are amazingly light and soft and look just like my pre-chemo hair. They have given me such a lift I am ringing people to arrange pre Christmas catchups. I can't feel them at all.

I am a bit shy about posting photos but if you are interested PM me and I will send you before and after shots.

When I have time to fiddle with the photos more I will post them here.

Off now to admire my new locks!

BCisnofun, so glad you got all that positive feedback!  I got lots of hugs today -- my first day at work topless -- also lots of props, a few head rubs (with permission of course).  I'm never going back!!!!

Congrats, Racy -  I bet you look amazing!  I am going to follow your lead and get extensions as soon as I have enough hair to hold them.  Did you have them bonded or sewn in?

Kat...I like the head rubs. Of course, only from peeps I like! Sometimes, I catch myself rubbing my own head just because I like the way it feels.

When I first shaved my head, I felt empowered. My hair wasn't all that great shakes to begin with but when I shaved it, it made me feel like I did when I was a teen and got a Mohawk and multiple ear piercings. A feeling of indepence and "different" (in a good way). I went out of the house proud of my self. It made it alot easier when my eyelashes and eyebrows fell out and I looked like an alien. But hey, I was a cool alien! Hee!

MizMarie, my own strands are threaded through a band at the top of each weft (2) then secured with little plastic cylinders. I think there are about 10 cylinders on each layer.

Racy did it hurt?  How long do they last?  I really am kinda liking my short hair and everyday I get so many compliments, even from people who  just think I got my hair cut.

Wow Michelle - your pics are amazing.  I'm particularly impressed with weeks 2 and 3 pfc.  I'm at 2 and although I have fuzz, it's no where near as thick as yours.  You are "follicularly"  blessed!

    Guess what?

Today I got eyelash extensions. I love them!!

It took over an hour as they individually glued lashes onto my new short lashes. I sat up from the bed and looked in the mirror to see lovely, long curly lashes. They are way better than my old ones.

They are supposed to last 2-4 weeks before needing a touch up. Love them!

Ks, no the extensions don't hurt a bit. They feel just like my real hair, not hot and prickly like my wig.

I will try to get on my laptop tomorrow and work out how to post pictures.

Kiwimum, you have trumped me today with your eyelash extensions.

I was so excited today that I forgot to take my Femara and only remembered at 4.15. I hope it's not a problem as I then went to Christmas drinks lol.

Kks and geegster I'm with you on the head rubs. For now it's so soft!!! We had a Christmas luncheon at work and people were taking turns petting the back of my head :)

Kks we are topless anniversary sisters

Racy and kiwimum please do post!

3jays mom. Very frustrating to be shedding now. I will be sending good hair thought your way that they get it under control.

Ok ladies, I certainly don't have enough hair to go without a wig but its officially become a pain in the a** for me so today I'm going to work topless.  I think this proves BC has changed me, I would have NEVER been this brave a few months ago.  I've taken a xanax just to be sure I don't have a meltdown.

McCrimmon - yes you can!!!  Smile and go with confidence, and you'll be getting all kinds of compliments!

Momine - I see French in the sign behind you, are you in France?  Where are you in that picture?  Love the architecture!  And you look terrific!

Nancy - LOL at follicularly blessed!  I still wonder if the hair you had as an infant is indicative of how fast it grows in after chemo.  I had a head full of curls when I was just a few months old, so I'm guessing you're right Laughing  It's funny - I was in Florida between weeks 2 and 3 PFC and I swear, it looked like my hair was growing every day!  Maybe it liked the warmth and sunshine!  We all noticed it and were getting a big kick out of it.

Kiwimum - eyelash extensions?  I didn't know they had such a thing!  I'd be worried that if my eyelashes cycle out again like some people have experienced, that all would be lost.  My lower lashes have come in longer than they were pre-chemo...how lucky is that!

3jaysmom - sure hope fixing the thyroid results in healthy hair and nail growth.  That must be so frustrating!

Luv, we do live in Europe, but in Greece. The picture was taken on a recent trip to Paris (no time like the present sort of thing). I am the one in the hat and the other lady is one of my cousins.
