I'm so envious of you gals who have taken a Tammo break. Im just to chicken to do it. I dont know why but I am. I never have been scared of anything (expect spiders) in my whole life. I dont know if its age or what, but I am tired of all this pain. I just dont think my pain level is as intense as some of you gals who have had injuries that the Tammo likes to go after. That could be a huge reason why I dont do it. I am so tired of whining about this. I know in my mind that I just need to pull up my big girl panties and get over it. Its just so dang hard when each day a new body part throbs with pain.
June my prayers are still with you my girl. Hang in there. I know your going thru so much and its hard. I cant imagine what your going thru, your are one tough woman!
Have a great day all my Tammo sistas!! Love to you all!

Paula - I think we all are tired of the SEs from Tammi. Some days it seems like the next 4 years will take forever. There are a lots of days I just want to take the bottle of little white pills and throw them in the garbage. Hell, taking it or not.....it is all a crap shoot anyway. Taking this drug for 5 years does not guarantee anything.
Odie - It is 72 at 9:30 am and is supposed to be close to 80s. Got the shorts on today.

"Hell, taking it or not.....it is all a crap shoot anyway. Taking this drug for 5 years does not guarantee anything." - Jo
Amen. Every time I talk to the nurse or MO and mention this, they agree, but still want me on the tamoxifen despite the pain and fatigue. Easy for them to say - they are still fully functioning.
I was in bed all day yesterday, all night, got up at 9 this morning and am feeling a bit better. Had to take pain meds a couple times yesterday, but just tylenol this am seems to be holding me OK. Thanks for the well wishes last night from everyone - you make me smile and make me feel understood.
Now I have GOT to get a lecture done for tomorrow morning. My reward for finishing it will be a game of Qwerkle with DH this evening - kind of like dominoes, but with colors and shapes rather than dots.
Have a good Sunday afernoon, all!

Linda - You are so right - those we talk to about this drug are fully functioning and have not had to endure this themselves. We don't get much sympathy - at least i don't from my MO. Everytime I see him I tell him how much I hate this drug - yes, he knows I do. I do have to say my MO is fantastic but still wants me to take this. To so degree, we gotta do what we gotta do to stay NED. When it severly affects quality of life then it is time to rethink this.

Yes it is all a crapshoot. I will start my little white pill again tonight and pray it does not agrivate my pain again. I am not totally pain free but not on pain killers either. So we shall see

Jo - 72 at 9:30 am?? that's just mean...lol; it has been mid thirties and raining all day here
... Guess it is a homemade soup night. As for the crapshoot comment, AMEN!! Too bad I am chicken and don't like to gamble...
Linda - Glad you are feeling better..
Sending hugs to all......

Isn't that the truth a crap shoot for sure. All we can do is our best and the rest is out of our hands. I will say my mom is very compassionate she told me last visit she was worried about me and would do whatever she could to get me through the next four years and said to email her anytime...granted it doesn't make me feel physically better but I know she is interested. The fatigue and mood issues are the worst for me. I know have carpal tunnel that will at some point need surgery and they said nerve damage all the way up to my shoulder don't know what that could be from. I don't think they know either...
Junie thinking of you sweetie hugs and prayers
Lynda hope your feeling better tonight
To all my dear Tammy ladies hope your having a good night0 -
I meant my mo not my mom...... geeze bedtime lol

Welcome cyclepath!
June- I will be in the barcar waiting with an organic red wine I found in the nova scotia liquor commission. I have snuck it on your american train and am at the back!!! I have a glass waiting for you lovely!!! come and get it. all are welcome but June gets the cushy seat near the window...stars are going to be beautiful tonight. Your mom has held on as long as she could...now that is true love...something to emulate...and then get on with the job of healing and living yourself. The Grief handbook June...send me an addess....pm it to me and I will send it to you...helped me so much with my dad's passing...helped me to somehow normalize the stages I as going through.

sherry. jo....good you got a bit of time off tammi even though it was for more tests etc....body needs a break.
paula....good grief...from all those steroids, would he even have apair left???just asking!
tink- I hope you and Jo and Sherry feel better soon....but as jo says, quality of life...this is a safe guard to ehlp us ensur eit does not come back...it is not guaranteed that it will come back so...if the safety valve gets greater than the quiality oflfe, like mine was in the fall...decision time.
I have spent a month NOT crying and not with swollen hands...have two massage appointments to continue to work the lymph drain down ...and if there is not teacher training for me to do in Canada this winter, I NEED to get out of here...go somewhere new for a few months...might take my savings and run for a month or two...does that sound crazy? wouldn't it be fun to just fly and forget...no appointments...next mammogram was moved to July instead of June..so...I will apply for the oversease fall jobs anyhow and see what comes of it....
ok ladies, bar car with paual's men..if they have saved us any seats..otherwise bring yourpillows and we will scare them all out!

Took my first tammi last night after being off of it and I slept fine. I was really worried that the insominia would kick back it but not last night anyway.

Sandee- I like the idea of just escaping for a couple of months. DH and I are trying to plan a trip to Ireland in June but not sure if going to pull it off. I don't really want a tour since I just want to relax and do what we want to do when we do it. Getting some ideas from people.
I like the idea of the red wine in the dining car. The newest guy is just a little to buff for me. Looks like it would hurt just to touch those arms and abs.

peg119- DH and I went to Ireland two years ago and we highly recommend it. We were there for 16 days and did our own thing for six days and took a tour for 10 days (CIE Tours). This gave us the best of both worlds, independent exploring and a guide in some of the more hard to reach places. In any case, we have been to over 50 countries, and Ireland is one of our absolute favorites. Message me if you have questions that I could help with.

Hey Ladies!
I know this has been discussed several time on this site, but please help me understand..I take melatonin most evenings for sleep. Since started Tamox in June, I have had a hard time sleeping. That being said, a few times a month I may take Advil PM. But all of my reading on the net says that is a bad idea while on Tamox. Why has my doctor not told me this? Like I said, I do not take very often...but I still take it. Thoughts?

Tink - It is a bit on the humid side but can't complain - have the shorts and sandals on today.

tunk-advilPM has benadryl in it which is a nono for tamoxifen. The PA at my first MO's office told me to take benedryl when I compained of not sleeping well. I said to him isn't that something I should not be taking. He put me on hold looked it up and said yes that would not be a good idea. duh... I was in the middle of switching MO's at the time anyway. My new MO checks all my meds against 3 databases to make sure I don't have anyting that contradict each other. A good source to use is drugs.com http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/tamoxifen.html If it is in the major interaction list I do not take it, if it is in the moderate or minor I call my doctor.
