Hi goils, good to see the lounge is filling is this evening. Boy am I ready for a few dwinks!!
Got my shot today, asked for something other than norco for pain and they decided on Percoset, hoping I do better on it. I'd already been using the Magic Mouthwash that NM suggested and wasn't getting any relief......showed my tongue to the nurse who said "UGH that's one of the worst cases of Thrush I've seen." So they prescribed some Nystatin oral rinse, hoping that will work and FAST. Couldn't even eat last nite. On top of all that, my fingernails hurt like heck. If anybody has any good tricks for the nails, please let me know.
OK, enough with the blah, blah, blah......it's Friday night and tomorrow starts my vacation from mommying, as my boys fly to Alaska for the week with my parents! Just in time for Valentine's day! A week of running round the house naked and lots of lovin! Maybe I'll drink enough to try the pole dancing like Mrs. V! LOL That would be be more comical than sensual I'm afraid!!

Quick check in...it's 3 degrees tonight. Tomorrow wind chill of 20 below! Will drive to Lincoln (90 miles) to see both DD's. DD2 has been homesick lately but works every Friday and Sunday, making it tough to get home so we will go see her. DD1 is married but SIL is working so just DH girls and me for lunch and movie.
Glad everyone is on the mend and feeling better. Tiedye, you are friskier than I was after chemo!! More power to you girlfriend! I haven't run naked since I was a toddler I think!!

Unde', getting into trouble with Stella, should NOT be a problem. And the ROCK was looking mighty fine, BUT.....the movie was not in 3D. I was bummed about that. I love 3D movies. We know the owner of the theater, and she said that people don't want to pay the extra to see 3D. Regular movie cost is $6, to see 3D is $8. Really, you can't afford another $2? Then maybe they shouldn't be going to the movies to begin with!

Rather quiet day here yesterday. Kathy, hope you are healing and all is going as it should, with your legs and tootsies. I spent most of the day outside cutting back flowers and paid for it last night. OMG, my back was killing me! The thing with my back is, it won't hurt at the time I am doing something, it's later! Took a night timey and was in bed at 6:30! I love to work in the garden, but it is the chore that seems to hurt my back the most.

So, being in bed so early, I didn't see any news, and only this second while reading your posts, learned about Whitney-so very sad. Stella-I am sorry that you and Dorthy seem especially sad about this loss, I will think of you girls today and hope that your good memories help soften the pain.
Goldie-I hear ya on the gardening and flower bed chores. They are my favorite, but that's a sneaky pain that waits till later to expose itself! Perhaps if we trim flowers with a large cocktail in one hand it would help!

I'm a little bummed, realized that I was mistaken (THAT always sucks in the first place, lol) my taxotere is every THREE weeks, not every two weeks like I thought. So that just prolongs this whole ride, which doesn't sit well with me. UGH!! I'm thinking of taking some on-line classes to help pass the time. I love grooming so much though......I've no clue what else I would want to do. Any creative ideas girls?

Just had the first set of stitches out Friday, went great. The second set comes out on the 20th. Won't be able to really tell until a few months out, when the swelling goes down, but so far, so good!

NM, I take nexium every morning, always with all my other medicine. Gonna quit taking them together, for sure! Should have figured that's why my antibiotic said not to take within two hours of an antacid! So I will take my other meds first, then wait two hours to take nexium. U is so smawt!!

Yes Kristy, Jennifer Hudson was awesome, I don't know how she did it without breaking down. And Sir Paul....so great having him perform. Nice to see him with his wife! And I'm so glad Adele got so many awards. It was amazing that she can sing like she used to, even after her vocal cord surgery. Great Show!

Well girls I live to see another day-no thanx to DH. He likes to hang a little trash bag on the corner of a cabinet. When it gets full i'm usually the one to toss it. So I did just that today,only it didn't go so smoothly. The trash was falling out of the bag onto the floor,i'm picking it all up. Then an empty can of pineapple slices hits the floor. I pick the can up along w/banana peels etc. I start walking toward the front door and slip (pineapple juice) almost landing on my a$$. As i'm slipping I grab the front of the aquarium wrenching my arm,then the 50 lb aquarium starts rocking back/forth almost tipping over on me. Stuff on the top of it goes flying everywhere. By the time it was over I felt like I was in a cartoon,I could hardly get mad as it was almost comical. I swear DH's and common sense are separated at birth and never reunite. I hope everyone's sunday went better,cheers.

Tied......I DID have a cocktail in hand! Sorry you are disappointed about the prolonged treatments. Mine were 3 weeks apart, which I was actually grateful for, as it gave me time to get to a point where I did not feel sick. So I was ok with it. Going to be early is A OK in my book. Enjoy your alone time.
Alli, glad to hear all is going goot wit da nips and stitches! No flowers here just yet. As for the broccoli and cauliflower, that is my friends garden, the ones that actually manufacture the plant protectors. They are really to get veggies going earlier, not necessarily for flowers. We have been quite warm, but we are in the mountains, and no telling what kind of weather we might get here.
Karen, liked your comment about doing a good job avoiding the things that needed to be done....LOL. Hope you had a nice dinner with your friend, and hoping for a nice visit with your folks.

Well, this morning I woke up at 3am, snifflin and a sneezing. The time is here! ALERGIES! Because of the unusually warm temps, the juniper trees are pollinating a few weeks early. So I shall live in misery for the next month or so! My husband is DREADING it, having to listen to me sniffle and sneeze. I might just take the spare bedroom, (and Jocks too)
Les hab a frozen Strawberry Banana Colada on dis Monkey Day
1 1/4 oz dark rum
2 oz coconut cream
2 oz strawberries
1 medium banana
8 oz crushed ice
Combine ingredients in a blender until smooth. Pour into a glass, garnish with a fresh strawberry, and serve.

Oh my that dwink looks good enuf for breakfast, Lori! Yummmm....but my likker has to be virtual for awhile....sob, sob. Have had some things going on since the procedure Friday, so gonna see what the nurse says. Had planned on going to Tunica Fri-Mon, invited to slot tournament, banquets, etc., but all that rich food and dwinks are NOT good for these ulcers, so gonna let DH go alone, if he wants to. Still have a slight fever too. OH DEAR, hate that the allergies area starting already....not fun! Does using a neti-pot help you? Helps me, but I hate doing it! Plus I take allerge meds year round.

NM, I'm gonna go back and see what you said about taking the prilosec, etc...For some reason after finding the ulcers, the dr told me not to take the Dexilant, but to take the Omeprazole (forgot what the common name is for that). Lots to learn! Hope your weekend went well, and wasn't too hectic!

Bernie- I absolutely LOVE your little sign! Going to have my artistic DD paint one to sit by my computer.
Goldie-I don't suffer much with allergies, but a friends little girl had TERRIBLE problems with them. She is big into natural healing and did research and found that if you consume LOCALLY made honey it's an almost instant and magical fix all for allergies (worked for them). I guess when the bees use your juniper trees to gather the pollen to make their honey, and the you eat the honey, it provides you with some sort of anti-body or protection from the allergens. Can't hurt to try it. Hope you feel much better very soon!
Undy-You poor thing!! YOU HAD ME LAUGHING TILL THERE WERE TEARS IN MY EYES!! So glad that you aren't hurt of course, but goodness, what a comical series of events!! And where was DH while all of this was happening?? Not only did he manage to turn your world tipsy topsy for a moment.......but the fish must have thought the "end" was near! We are finally getting some much needed rain here in Northern Cali today! Didn't watch the grammy's but glad they paid tribute to Whitney. Spent the evening helping my love put together his new BBQ (V-day gift)- you girls should see this thing! Remember he's a Chef so a simple Webber just would NOT do (that's what I grew up on and was always fine), lol. This monster just oozes testosterone-good 6 ft long, side burner, propane grill on one side, wood grill on the other, smoking unit, etc, etc. Anyway, he's in LOVE with it so I'm happy-plus it means a sumeer of gourmet BBQ yummies for me!!
Have an appt with my general surgeon today hopefully to get a referral to a PS so I can start asking all the questions about the final stage of this ride-the big surgery! Don't know if anyone else felt the same way, but even though the surgery is scary......it is the "goal" and the light at the end of the tunnel in my mind. Can't wait to get there. After that, I get another shot and then home to do some chores before my legs start hurting from the shot. Luckily, the percoset takes care of the pain and doesn't upset my tummy!!
I'm having trouble sleeping the past three nights. I know alot of you girls have had trouble and I seem to recall some of you concocting your own little cocktails for sleep. Think it was Mrs. V & maybe Wahine or NM?? Would you girls share those little secrets again as I can't recall what you were taking.
