Tiedye, my Taxotere was 3 weeks apart too, and I agree with mrs Goldie, helped to give u recovery time and let your WBC come back up. As for sleep, I take two 3mg prolonged release tablets of melatonin and a .5 Xanax. Gonna start cutting out the Xanax, see if the melatonin alone helps now.

A Mother had 3 virgin daughters.
They were all getting married within a short time period.
Because Mum was a bit worried about how their sex life would get started, she made them all promise to send a postcard from the honeymoon with a few words on how marital sex felt.
The first girl sent a card from Hawaii two days after the wedding. The card said nothing but: 'Nescafe'
Mum was puzzled at first, but then went to her kitchen and got out the Nescafe jar.

Hi girls...

Had a nice dinner with DH tonight for Valentine's Day as I will be gone the next two days to be with my mom. She is having total knee replacement surgery Tuesday; she's 74. She did the first knee last year so we have an idea of what to expect. So will hang out with my dad and sister. Say a lil prayer for my mamma Ruth, if you would please?

Love the Moscato-DH made mimosas yesterday! I got a good guy, I must say. How he put up with me after the hell we both went through with diagnosis, surgery, chemo, hair loss, firing the RO, rads 95 miles away, and the lack of well-you know-(three-letter word, starts with "s") is still a mystery to me. I am blessed with a darling, most days!

Good morning, Loungettes! Just a quick pop in for an Irish Coffee and an update. The weekend was crazy, but is over and done with. Needed recovery time yesterday, and my Mom is having a shoulder replacement done later this am, so I will be heading out pretty soon. Beginning to think I need to clone myself for a while! Ah, well, this shall all pass. Gonna do a quick skim through, not going to try to ketchup properly unless I get access to a computer somewhere later.

Wahine--I've seen Grimm a few times, can't wait for it to come out on DVD so I can see the whole thing!

Wahine--omeprazole is Prilosec, been around for so long that it's generic, and is very good at healing ulcers as well as stopping heartburn.

For anyone following the conversation about anti ulcer and anti acid meds like prilosec/protonix/etc: The ideal time to take these pills is about 1 hour before eating a meal, by itself. In hospitals the 'standard' time to give it about an hour before breakfast is served. That way the stuff is circulating in the blood when the stomach gets food and the acid making cells start spitting out acid. The Prilosec type drugs then move in and shut down the acid making cells. Now, before everyone gets freaked out, once you've taken it for a while a good percentage of the acid making cells are turned off and you can take it almost any time and maintain the percentage of shut off cells. These drugs interfere with the absorption of other medications ALL THE TIME, but most significantly if taken within 2 hours of another medication when there is still some of the drug in the stomach. So it's best to separate these from other drugs whenever that kind of schedule is workable. Isn't all this stuff FUN !!!

Tidy--my magic sleep cocktail is melatonin, valerian tincture and skullcap tincture. When those fail, I use xanax. Melatonin is available over the counter. Valerian and skullcap can be found in health food stores. I use tinctures I make myself, but you can buy tincture or capsules. Follow the bottle directions--there are many preparations, all a bit different, but they work well many people.

NM, sending prayers you way too, for your mom. As for all the stupid pills, it gets crazy. Eat with this one, don't eat with that one. Do not take within 4 hours of taking calcium, drink a full glass of water, take the same time every day, etc. etc. Gheesh!

Labs showed VERY low WBC again yestereday so back for another shot today. Guess I need to be more thankful for 3 week intervals and focus on getting strong during them.

Saw my general surgeon yesterday, he did an ultra-sound with his mini-ultrasound machine and was just thrilled, said all he saw was good breast stuff and happy lymph nodes!  So he made me an appt with a PS for this Wed.  FINALLY getting to see some light at the end of the tunnel!

Well, I guess it's my own dern fault for showing up at Lori's so late. I KNOW how early she goes to bed, jes like old people, ya know? Good thang I brought some wodka wif me! I had me a good ole time, out in da Shady Lady.

I can't stay mad at Lori for making me stay out, cuz she habs me laughing so hard dis ayem. She told me I could tale. She is in da shower wif a turkey baster up her nose!!!! LMAO!

Her sweet lubly husband was going to take us to town and buy us fwowers and take us out to eat at the all you can eat ribs pwace...........but it snowed, so now we have to stay home. But I still have more wodka stashed, so I'm ok.

Mom's urgery went just fine, she now has a bionic left shoulder.  She's miffed that she isn't in a private room.  She didn't want to see me before surgery (I was there anyway), saw her for a few minutes after she got to her room, not sure if she'll remember it or not.  She was in pretty good spirits except for not being in a private room. Doc says she'll be able to go home Thursday or Friday, Mom has decided she's going home tomorrow.  Glad it's her "boyfriend" who's gonna be dealing with that part! 

Twas a long day.  Got an extra-large headache, gonna take some tylenol and go to bed early.  Got to get up early for another long day tomorrow--meeting, appointment, quick visit to Mom, appointment.  

Someone mentioned time for a mine-vacation.  I think they're right.  Gonna start looking into that, tomorrow or the next day. . . .

Whew, my biopsy came back negative for cancer and for that bacteria. AND a big THANK YOU to NM for responding to all my questions in a PM. What a treasure trove of knowledge! Many, many thanks! And so glad your mom is doing so well!

I take my Nexium in the morning....its probably an hour before I eat breakfast...don't take too many other meds, but I also take them in the morning....but lately I need to take a 2nd Nexium....GERD is back big time...it started up again Saturday night after going out to eat fish n chips!!!!  and night sweats are back....I commented to DH this morning how hot it was in the bedroom and he said he didn't think it was hot....and I said, well its me!!!!  Geez....I thought I was through with them...if they keep up, do I start back on the gabapentin????  Looking into BHRT....but waiting till I see my onc on the 23rd....going to tell him that I want to do it and need his "blessings"......DH thinks all my problems are hormone related....onc Rx testosterone a couple years ago but it didn't do anything...but he didn't check levels...so this time around I want labs.....

Busy day at work tomorrow....then staffing after school...won't get home till after 5....then dinner....DH wants home made pizza...he wants a beer meal......DD make baked pasta tonight...then pack for my folks and head to the airport around 10 or 10:30....my flight is around 1am.....I get into S. FL at 9:30 on thursday and there till early MOnday morning......

Want to get in bed early again tonight and read......Sweet dreams.....

Had a great night with DH, am a lucky lady and got a good reminder of that. Heading to my office early, then physical therapy. Should be last session, really nothing left for them to show me. I do like to hot packs and massage though.

Karen, SO glad you will be at your parents house tomorrow morning! Hope things will go well; I know how anxious you must be to see them again. As for your reflux, are you under a drs care for that? Ya know, if you haven't had an endoscope, I hope you will schedule one. The Dexilant is stronger than Prilosec (its 60mg) and you just need 1, plus can take it anytime, without regard to when you eat. AND if anyone gets on it, they can go to their website and print out a rx coupon where it is only $20, whether for 30 or 90. But please do have that checked if you haven't lately....I would never have known of all the problems in my tummy and it would have gotten much worse. As is is, I had to quit my mobic for my back pain, and it is killing me (prolly what caused the ulcers and gastritis). But you also need to know that your esophagus is okay too.

Sounds like some of you had a really nice Valentines Day/Night! My DH got me some cards, and had bought a big banner he hung up, BUT no food or dwinks for this gal, yet. Bummer!

Lori, you iz so funny....can you really see me??? You said "you look like a HUGE weight was lifted off your shoulders".....LOL. J/K, I know what you meant, but OMG if you can really see me let me know and I will get decent! YES, I feel much better just knowing it isn't worse than it could have been. And this morning is the first day I have felt half-way normal. Maybe the antibiotics are working, or if I did have an infection, it has run its course. ANYWAY, not fun having the clear liquid diet, not at all!!! Will be 5 days of that, then the "Full" Liquid Diet. Anyone wanna join me? Well, at least you all can dwink for me, right????

DOTD and BOTD both sound awesome! We need to know how Mama Ruth is doing!!! And AdorKable, are you ok? And AlliCat, how ya doing?
