Happy Sunday ladies! Hope everyone is doing well! Have skimmed through the pages, and the Barbie puking pic had me LMAO! And Beans, all that snow, WOW! Have to get the map ready for Chrissy's surgery, will def be there for that! The HTL ladies are goin down unda!!
FINALLY finished my taxes, so that trip down memory lane is over, thank goodness! The Rat Bastard year was pretty much a wash, and the medical bills after 5 surgeries, chemo, etc. is staggering! And we have good insurance! I had no idea we payed soooooo much out of pocket. No wonder my DH refinanced our house. Can't believe the things he kept from me, didn't want to add the stress on top of everything else. Wow! But they are off to the accountant now, maybe he can make something out of dat chit! I'm moving forward! Can we get a pitcher of bloody Mary's in the HTL this am? Thank you snow job! Oh, and a massage? Ahhhhhhhhhh!! See you gals poolside!0 -
Mrs V - so glad you stopped by and I will def join you poolside! What a relief to get those taxes done and put it behind you. all the memories are so hard and then how much money got spent on Rat B*stard...how nice your DH was trying to protect you that is so sweet of him. I totally relate, when I got the summary from my insurance of how much they were billed it was just amazing, course the insurance and mesef didn't pay anything like what was billed - thank goodness for insurance! But yeah we had so many expenses out of pocket that year, 2010. Last year was minimal, so hope 2012 expenses for you will be small!!! Speaking of Bloody Mary's, and Bleeding Taxpayers, I'm serving up the Income Tax Cocktail, cuz me too is working on toopit taxes and trying not to be bleed this year, gotta add up all my receipts.
INCOME TAX COCKTAIL
makes one drink
1 1/2 ounces gin
1/4 ounce dry vermouth
1/4 ounce sweet vermouth
1 ounce orange juice (I used blood orange)
1 dash Angostura bitters
Optional garnish: orange twistCombine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with an orange twist.

Dat is bcause it gave me such anx to do dat for last year and it did not make dat much difference in de bottom line. So mese jest took de standard deduction for medical. Speaking of reading, gonna go do some of that now. On the second book of three, first is Fifty shades of Grey, very awesome! But have a question. Have had nonstop headaches lately, pretty sure sinus related, but could be migraines too, they make me feel sick, and nothing gets rid of them. My friend takes topamax for them, says it works, but not sure I want something else I have to take every day. Would like to ask my Dr for something I can take just if I get one, but don't know what that would be. Ideas?? Be back later, til then, gonna grab another cocktail. Yum!

As for migraines I got them more and more as I got older, like close to menopause age. But I had the visual chit, like window pane, and not too much pain, but now dat I thru menop I not get hedake no more, it wonderful! Hardly hafta take a pill. Swelling in fingers gone- guess it was just the het and not LE, thankd goodness. Went to Hunger games; wow! excellent, disturbing movie. I really liked it!! Wish I'd read the book first. That's the way I usually like to do it, but didn't want to miss the chance to go with family.
Heading back home Monday afternoon. Had fun, but back to reality time, I guess. Gotta get my taxes done by Thursday for the accountant. Yikes! I added up the medical bills and shouldn't have. Won't be able to itemize anyway, but good lord. The port was $12,000, the Neulasta shots were $8,000 each and I had six. That didn't include surgery or chemo or rads. I had great insurance and now I can never leave my job. Sigh.

Don't worry about the doc rating thing, do it when you feel up to it. I'm giving them until Wednesday before I call again, and when I call again I am going to insist on a face-to-face meeting with the doc to tell him how his attitude made me feel and to get an apology. This is health care, it doesn't matter if someone is out sick, there should be someone covering. I used to work there, so I know the system, and I'm going to start contacting CEOs and other bigwigs pretty quick. NM is now mad as h@ll and not going to take it anymore!
Karen--using the AC in March is a bit odd, isn't it? Had to use it in my car last week. Had to use the heat the same day after the sun when down and it cooled off!

Mrs. Vino--there are meds that you can take at the beginning of a migraine that will stop them pretty quickly. Your doc will know what they are, I can't think of them right off the top of my head. The everyday pills for migraines are usually used when the person has chronic migraines. It would also be a good idea to get your eyes examined, if you haven't in the last year. Eye strain headaches can feel a lot like sinus headaches. Last week I opened a bottle of fennel wine I made last year, it was GOOD! I was very surprised! Got to get to work on some more wines.
