My DS just got home from work and I asked how his mouth was and he said a lot better...so I was ribbing him a bit about how much it is all costing....and he says...well I paid today..."I swiped the credit card"!!!  Had to laugh....sometimes he has a great sense of humor.....

Thanks everyone for the congrats on my DD....I am soooooo proud of her....she is a truly amazing, wonderful young lady...I am so lucky to be her mother.....she got the best of her brother and sister.....I wanted a third child as I wasn't ready to empty nest in my early 50's....(well that was planning ahead)....and I am so greatful everyday that I have my DD#2 still at home to do things with....I can't imagine my life if she wasn't in it.....She is 9 and 12 years younger than her older siblings!!!

Time to pour another glass of a Petit Syrah...it is really yummy.....

Does anyone have any tummy issues from VIt D, magnesium, calcium or Vit K?   I started them as well as some other supplements, but these are the suspects....stomach is bothering me again so I'm back on my Nexium....only good things is, maybe I'll loose some weight as I won't be snacking as much....I'm not in misery, but I can definitely tell a difference after a week on the supplements in regards to upset tummy...not sure I notice anything else...even from the DHEA/testosterone and the Armour Thyroid.....Allison....how are you doing on your new meds?

    Sweet dreams....

Karen, YES to the calcium! When they found I had ulcers, my dr took me off calcium, multis, EVERYTHING! He said they are very abrasive to your stomach. SO, I got the Calcium Chews (choc or vanilla....yummy!), and the Gummy Adult Vitamins...much easier on the tummy in these formulations. I am starting back on the vitB6, etc, gradually. Got the Gummy Multi brand someone here told me about, and it is really good. I'll look at what is is, when I get back up.

    Funny Juliet...."Share your meds"!

    HAPPY HUMPITY HUMP DEY!!!!!

OKL, I did some ketchuping yesterday.

Great pic of Stella and Allison!

I found some "Start" and have it down in the garage waiting for the next warm dry day when rototilling would be a good thing to do.

As far as patients dropping dead on me, none "dropped dead" all took their sweet time, all THREE of them! Thanks be that there were NO deaths this latest weekend!

Rainbow colored sock monkey? Now I have seen EVERYTHING!!

Great Scuby pic! Is it too late to get in on the free drinks??????

    Hi CapeTown!

    Chrissy got home!! Yeah!!

    Pretty HTL Magic Party Bus!!

Getting back in the groove today! Happy May Day, yesterday!  I remember making May Baskets like these:

Mema-I remember Maypole dancing at school. Can you just picture that happening today???

Karen-Congrats to DD on making the Honor Society! That is quite an accomplishment, and so great to have celebrated on your birthday.

Mrs. Vino-poor Aubrey! Hope she gets better soonliest, and you don't get sickliest from her !

Wahine-the ketchup consisted of skimming posts and looking at pics, did stop and read the jokes, though! LOL all the way through, Sadie thinks I'm crazy, but since she's Silly it works out. Can you get some pics of the geese and geeslings, ducks and ducklings on the patio? They must be so sweet and fun to watch!

Karen-supplements can cause stomach upset, unfortunately. If I remember right you've started several recently? If you've got a sensitive system you may want to start off with one for a couple weeks, then add another , and keep adding one every couple of weeks until you have them all going. Also, taking them with some food may help. Do you take them all at once or spread out through the day?

    Juliet-LOVE the happy meds pic!

    Hiya goils,

I need to pop in and say FU Rat Bastard. Ugh, I just paid my outstanding hospital bill and am jest so mad at de rat for putting me in debt.  I just calculated that I could prolly buy 140 pairs of quality shoes for Stella with this money but no, had to give it to de hospital. I am now medical debt free - for two more weeks.  FU RAT BASTARD, FU and your mother too! Thanks for hearing my rant.  I am still at work, need to make some calls before I can get out of here.

NM, WELCOME BACK, yippee!! Mese misses you . Stella misseded you too.

I still have not caught up reading but will soon.

Kathy, I am not sure if I told you but I took myself off all my vitamins for the last few weeks and did notice a great improvement in my nausea. I am thinking that the calcium may be the culprit. You are smart!! I will fill my little pill box with everything BUT calcium and see what happens. I also take D and B12, do you know if they are rough on the tummy?

Otay my fwends, back to work.

    CheerS!

Joining Dorkster in her rant...." FU Rat Bastard!!!!!" And don't ever show your $hity face again!!!

Ok, calmer now....or is it da Pau Hana dwinks dat is makin me calmer??? Dorkie, Yes the dr took me off D also. As far as B12, I use the sublingual, which you let dissolve under your tongue, so don't think that type would harm da tummy. BUT make sure to ask your dr what you need to get off of b4 your surgery. Remember it is usually 10 days or so that you need to be off aspirin, mobic, fish oil, etc. The multi gummies I got at Rite Aid are soooo good, and soft. The One-A-Day brand of gummy multis was harder to chew. I am gradually adding the supplements that I like to take. I didn't realize you had nausea. Hate feeling that way. My dizziness is not very bad now, but still happens a bit every day. Weird.

Hate that you lost that post, Mema!!!! Did you find Stella?

Cindy, Puleez check in with us, ok???

PAU HANA time....anyone here??? I almost have all my stuff ready to PACK...yay!!!!

To my dwinking buddies, could you please pray for Melinda. We were supposed to see her parents in VT, but today the biopsy came back that she does have thyroid cancer. They will operate tomorrow, and think they caught it early enough, but I sure would appreciate some prayers. Her mom is flying down to be with her, but her dad is staying in VT, so we might still be able to get together with him. Lots of power in prayer, so thank you, those of you that believe in prayer.

Still EMPTY at the HTL tonight!!! I can't handle all the TT's by meself, so come on and help me, girlzzzzz!

I took myself off of flaxseed oil cuz I have heard it is not good for ER+ survivors. I keep forgetting to ask my onc about this one. He did ok taking soy as a sup to help with the hot flashes and night sweats. But I have not been taking it lately. I also cut my dose of Effexir and the sweating seems better. Certain things put me in a hot flash. I die when using a hair dryer. When I was getting my hairs did, I had sweat balls trickling down my forehead, my chest and back, hated it.

Oh well, I will dwink den I will not care. SLUPR SLUPR SLURP, yummmmmmy!

I am a widdle concerned about de Stella's whereabouts. Hope she did not take off with a hot man. She does that sometimes ya know! She a ho like Elizabeth!!

Gawd, I have missed me goils. So happy to be winding down at work. Hey, I tink work should be a bad word in the HTL... sorta like de word monday, and sorry. what do you all tink?

I am praying for Cindy, I know she is hurting. I am tinking back to when I had my BMX and how much it hurt. De good ting is that she is over de worst part of it. I tink that the wait is worse den de soygery.

A fun fact ... when NM posted de pic of de Amityville House, made me recall that the Amityville horror movies were filmed in NJ. I remember being in my early 20's when the movie first came out and searching high and low before we located the home that was used.  I just searched on google and found that in the original first three films, a home in Toms River NJ was used for filming. That town is the closest shoet point from my home town, took less than an hours to get there. Neat stuff, ehhh? zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......Not as good as likker dough, fo sho!

Thanks for the insights about the supplements....I took myself off everything (except my nasacort and colace, guaificen (sp) and ibuprofen) and my stomach was doing much better.....I started the DHEA/Testosterone (sublingual) and the Armour Thyroid the 4th or 5th of April...and last Monday night the 23rd started the supplements....some I take in the AM and some AM and PM...here it goes....AM:  Vit D 5,000 iu, DIM 200, Omega 3 2,000 , Folic Acid, B Complex, Calcium 600, Magnesium 200, Vit K....at night I take the Vit D, DIM, Omega 3 and Magnesium....

Gave DD my bathing suit that I bought last year....and it looks better on her than me!!!!  Its hard to find a tankini or one piece without a built in bra...my implants are small and flat and wide...my old bathing suits that are as old as DD look better on me!!!!  Funny how I can share clothes with my 14  year old....and her feet are bigger than mine....she's 5'1" and wears a size 8 1/2!!!  bought her new Vans today....and she needs sandles for summer and hiking shoes for camp...the ones I bought her last summer don't fit her.....

A friend's DD is getting married next month and we RSVP's that we would attend the wedding...they are our neighbors and she is our dentist....tonight DH and I were talking about summer plans and trying to figure out how can I do all the things I want to do as well as DH business travel...and he goes, I really don't want to go to the wedding!!!  And I've been looking for dress shoes to wear as I don't have any (all to small and gave them away....about 10 pairs that I had accumulated over the past 15 or so years)...so a couple weeks ago I bought a patent pump at DSW but thought they might be a little tall...so today I found a pair of naturalizers that are lower heel sling back and I thought dressy and DH liked the patent better....DD liked the sling back better till she saw the patent....so DD says keep both of them!!!! not sure I need or want that many dress shoes....the ones at DSW were about $40 on sale....the sling backs were $85!!!  What dilemnas!!!  Still haven't decided on the clogs....thinking I'm not going to get them....I found out that DH is getting me a pair of Sanitas....giving them to me friday.....and I love my clogs!!!!  plus he's still getting me the pair on back order so I'll have 5 pairs!!!! a girl can never have enough clogs.....

3 more weeks of school!!!! and its crazy busy....in fact got to go finish a report tonight that I forgot to finish and didn't remember that I didn't finish it!!!!

And now to plan out the summer....DD and I are going to go to my parents the 1st week in June...then before she goes to camp she is going to Toronto to her sister's and I'm thinking I'll go with her...which means that DH will go to Toronto a different time...so far in almsot 3 years, we've not gone to the kids together!!!!  Then I'll hang out in Denver till mid July...take the classes I need for my national certification and hopefully go to Israel for 3 weeks mid July and then on way home stop at my parents and get back to Denver mid August....now lets see if it all works out!!!

Tomorrow is DD 26th b'day....and its the 2nd RFTC in Israel...going to wear my T-shirt tomorrow and go for a 5 K at the near by park....sure wish I was in israel for the walk, but that there will be another time!!!!

Okay...enough of me going on and on!!!!

7 reasons not to mess with children.

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah."
The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"
The little girl replied, "Then you ask him."

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."
The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to "honor" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our Brothers and Sisters?"
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?"
Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
"Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'
A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, she's dead."

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face."
    "Yes," the class said.
"Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
    A little fellow shouted,
    "Cause your feet ain't empty."

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
"Take only ONE. God is watching."
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had written a note, "Take all you want. God is watching the apples."

Love the funneeeeees! Bernie, I copied what you wrote about not messing with children, and sent it to my DH and my Dad. Juliet, that is FUNNEEE about what happens when we get OUT of bed!

Karen, Is tomorrow your birthday? I know some galz have asked you, but I may have missed it if you answered. Sounds like you already know a lot of what your gifts will be! My stomach dr told me not to take ibuprofen, mobic, aspirin, etc., but to take tylenol as he said it is easier on the stomach. Not sure if that is true, but I have done what he said. SURE miss my mobic though as it helped my back pain....the caudal epidural did not work this time, prolly cuz we went to Portugal 3 days later and even though my DD did most of the lifting of luggage, etc., I still did a lot of it too.You also mentioned taking 5k of Vit D...I thought 1K was a good amount? You may have mentioned a deficiency, can't remember. Comparing my g'dau who will be 14 this month, and your 14 yo DD....my g'dau is taller than her mom who is 5'6", and also already wears size 9.5 shoes! She is 1/4 korean, but she  sure is not taking after that side!!! LOL. My DD is quite slim, and some of her clothes are too snug for her DD.

I know I will be bumping someone, cuz I'm watching tv and keep interrupting my post! Hoping for a nice THIRST-DEY to all of youse amazing loungettes!! Those traveling, stay safe! Alli, Hope Aubrey is much better today! Here, it is raining and overcast, but cooler...had been around 90, so enjoying this cooler weather today. Tomorrow when we go to VT, it will very COOL, prolly even COLD! LOL.

Hugs! Mugs! No peeking under da Rugs!

26 years ago I became a Mom for the 1st time!!!  DD #1 is the birthday girl.....over the next 10 days, we have two more b'days and mother's day....i'm the 8th and my DS is the 12th!!  always a busy time!!!

Kathy....my vit D levels were quite low so the BHRT doc put me on 10,000 iu Vit D/day....for some reason the ibuprofen doesn't bother my stomach but sure helps my sinuses......I take it over the acetamenaphin for the anti-inflmmatory benefit...

going to be hot out today...but going to walk early....need to do a "5K" in my Israel RFTC t-shirt as today is the race in Jerusalem....of course with the time difference, the race is done now....

    Have a great thursday...

OK Karen, remind us before the 8th, so we can have a big birthday party here for you! Happy Birthday to your DD!!!! Thanks for reminding me that tylenol does not help inflammation. I may start taking some ibuprofen for that, but just as needed, as I also found this: Acetaminophen is often recommended for treating the pain of arthritis because it doesn't cause stomach irritation. So maybe the ibuprofen might be affecting your stomach? NIce that you are doing a faux RFTC....will be nice to be supporting them from afar! Have a good day!

Gail, did you nessapear again??? Wese miss you! Can you PM one of us with your email so we can keep in touch? Nice to have NM back! Dorkie, don't work too hard! Lori, hope your trip is going well. LIsa, all settled back into work? Know you are excited about the 9th! Alli, let us know how Aubrey is! Beansie, Hope you are safe and sound! SusieQ, did your car/truck get dwunk again?? Luv all the jokes from Bernie and Juliet! Where is everyone else???? Hope Cindy is ok!

    Hugs! Bring on dem Drugs!

Good morning, Loungettes! I was hoping for some sun today, looks like I'm going to be dissapointed that way. Ah well, such is life. Chilly in the again this am. May and I still have to run the furnace for heat! Yeesh!

Mema--losing a post is the pitts! Lots of fukitols for you, and lots of dwinkies of your choice, not to mention the tender of your choice.

Regarding Maypoles and maypole dancing--does anyone realize that the whole thing is a pre-Christian fertility celebration? Done in the spring to insure a good growing season. The pole is a phallic symbol, the woven streamers are a female symbol. I bet no one in our schools knew any of this!

"The earliest use of the Maypole in America occurred in 1628, where William Bradford, governor of New Plymouth, wrote of an incident where a number of servants, together with the aid of an agent, broke free from their indentured service to create their own colony, setting up a maypole in the center of the settlement, and behaving in such a way as to receive the scorn and disapproval of the nearby colonies, as well as an official officer of the king, bearing patent for the state of Massachusetts. Bradford writes:

"They also set up a May-pole, drinking and dancing about it many days togaether, inviting the Indean women, for their consorts, dancing and frisking togither, (like so many fairies, or furies rather,) and worse practises. As if they had anew revived & celebrated the feasts of ye Roman Goddes Flora, or ye beasly practieses of ye madd Bacchinalians."  Wikipedia

DorKable--I hear you about the medical debt thing. I've got an unopened bill sitting on my desk. Not sure I want to know what it is, even though I've met my deductible and out of pocket for the year, I still get bills. Cannot figure it out. Wish I was rich enough to drop all insurance and pay directly, then I could negotiate discounts and such. Sigh.

Wahine--getting stuff ready to pack and then dwinking while packing sounds like a great way to go! Gonna remember that for next time I have a trip to pack for!

Good morning, LORD, it's me again. Can I ask YOU to look out for Melinda? She's got the scary c-diagnosis and going to have surgery, probably today if I've got the timing right from Wahine's post. She and her parents could use YOUR strength and peace. Please guide the docs during her surgery and her care, please arrange for her to land in the "cured" column when this is all over. Thanks, LORD, appreciate YOUR time in this.

DorKable--I've found a few things trigger hot flashes, too. Dwinks with alchohol in them for one. Being in a warm place with no air movement is another. Haven't been in a hair dryer so don't know about that one but I wouldn't be surprised! And speaking of soy--I was looking at margarines in the store the other day (since that's supposed to be better than butter for cholesterol/fat intake) and could only find 2 that weren't soy based. I know soy is probably ok, but I just cannot bring myself to eat stuff that is almost totally soy. I guess I'm more afraid of the rat ba$tard than I am cholesterol. Neat stuff about the Amityville house. I read somewhere it was torn down, do you know if that's true?

Vodka kitteh is right, It's 5 o'Clock somewhere, always!

Karen--You might want to try taking the calcium and magnesium at night rather than in the am, the combo is very relaxing and will help you get to sleep. Add magnesium in slowly, it can cause diarrhea and tummy upset big time--magnesium is the basis of a lot of laxative, Milk of Magnesia being one of the best known. Taking Vit D with Omega 3 is a good move, the D needs the fat from the Omega 3 to be absorbed. Have you ever had a blood clot? If you have be cautious with the Vitamin K. On the other hand, if you bruise easily or bleed a lot when cut the Vit K is a good thing to take. I'm sure you'll get the summer schedule all worked out somehow. What did you decide about the wedding, going or not? Happy birthday to DD, and Hooray for school counting down! Almost done!

    Bernie--LOL!!

Juliet-- I need to memorize that prayer!

Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is the Kill the Rat Ba$tard
    1 part Midori Melon Liqueur
    1 part Vodka Vodka
    1 part Amaretto
    1 part Coconut Rum
    1 part Sloe Gin
    1 part Cranberry Juice

    Directions
Pour equal parts into a mug/glass. Add the alcohol first, then add the cranberry juice last. This drink may be mixed/stirred, but it isn't required.
