    Dragonfly, you look great! Did you have the relaxer done at a salon? I'm almost ready to call for a hair appointment, to see what can be done about my poodle hair. It is so dense and curly it doesn't budge even in a stiff breeze, and I'm hoping having a relaxer or keratin treatment would help. I really want to to feel the wind in my hair....

    Dragonfly:  Thanks so much for positing the pics.  (especially considering I am 4 days PFC--there's a light to the end of the tunnel).  My niece said she thinks my hair is coming back blond???  Could that be?   She says it's not gray.....Hmmm...  We shall see.  I was dark brown with about 20% gray pre-chemo.  Of course, it was highlighted, colored, etc.

    LuvRVing I found that it was easiest to create the timeline on a powerpoint slide and then save it as a JPEG file. After saving it as a JPEG I uploaded it to photobucket and then pasted the link here.

    MizMarie  Yes, I had the relaxer done at a salon-it was a 2 hour process including the haircut. I really wish I had done it sooner. It improved the texture of my hair and straightened it at the same time. It takes me A LOT less time to do my hair now and I like the way it looks for the first time in a year...

    Thanks all for the coloring suggestions.  I will explore some of the those options.  Has anyone tried Herbatint?  They say it covers gray really well and is a natural coloring. Hmmm.  

    I've had my hair cut twice, it is very short because it is growing unevenly and my hairdresser wants the top to catch up with the sides and back. Part of me is tempted to keep it this short because it is so easy, but at the same time, it is a constant reminder of what I have been through. 

    Ossa, you always look great! I've been lurking lately, not posting much.  I just marked the end of my treatment today as I had my port removed.  Almost a year to the date of when it when in.  What a year this has been!

    Dragonfly - you kept a lot of your hair during chemo!  I am looking at your 1.5 month PFC photo (which is about where I am now) and you have a lot more hair than I do (or maybe yours is just darker).

    I've noticed that a lot of women maintain a receding hairline for many months after chemo.  Does anyone know why?

    Dragonfly - you look great too! The relaxer gives me hope. I love the Victoria beckham style too - its the style of my wig.

    Momine, you look beautiful. I wish I had that much hair at week 15:(. All ladies that have battled and came out in this side look amazing to me. Congrats and keep flourishing.

    Anafoe.. Yay for you getting your port out. Must feel good. I am still at least three months from getting mine out. Have been on Herceptin break... Just got back on schedule last week tuesday four more to go.. Look forward to the end og treatment (other than Tamoxifen but I am done six months of them so "only" four and a half years left.. I am very thankful for the treatments I have gotten over this past year..

    I am with you in spirit, just not timing. I do plan to go for the shave, but will go to my hairdresser later this week. Don't think DH would be very confident in doing it nor would he likely want to. Only b/c he'd be fearful of cutting me or whatever. He does support me in whatever I want to do. I keep a lightweight sleep cap or turban on all day cause I can't stand the fall out. And it's still falling!

    Did you do it? How did it turn out?

    I go sit in the big girl chair tomorrow so that's more my focus at the moment. I need to take my steroid pill now. Yuk! Hate those things.

    Shore, even my hair dresser was amazed that my hair came back exactly the way it was before, straight and "blonde." The Greeks call my hair blonde, I call it mousy brown or as we say in Denmark "municipality-colored" [boring and ho-hum like city government].

    I love all the hair photo's. You all look wonderful. I hope mine comes back thick. Hopefully all the color will come back, but I doubt that. Off to start chemo regimen #2 this morning. Four more months to go.

    Myleft, thanks and yes, my hair is very coarse. It is actually a bit of a challenge now that it is short, because it does not stay neat even though it is barely an inch long. For the first time in my life, I am experimenting with "hair products," about which I have not a clue in ...

    AEM - beautiful pics!

    I see you have some from 8 weeks PFC and 10 weeks. Did you lose all of your hair during chemo? I lost it all so I'm trying to figure out when I will have a cute little pixie looking cut, at least! Right now I have nothing but a downy white fuzz coming in, and it's not even covering my entire head... I'm 4 weeks PFC, it seems like it will be forever :(

    janie...if I am any example, your timeline sounds right. I lost all mine and about 6 weeks PFC, I could start to see total regrowth...sparse but there. I am now 5 months and look like Judi Dench (cute pixie cut). Totally covered (3 trims already) but my bangs are still very short.

    You guys look great. I am trying to work up the courage to go topless. My mom thinks I am ready my husband thinks maybe a couple more weeks. I have never been a big accessory or make person, but I may go splurge on some big girls earrings to wear to make me look more girls when I go topless and still have the GI Jane look.



    And though this isn't a hair question a lot of you are a lot further along than I am and can hopefully answer this. I still have a long way to go but it seems like I am eating drinking and sleeping breast cancer. When I wake up at night (and that is a lot since I am having some hot flashes) my brain goes right to breast cancer and then it takes forever to fall asleep again. It is ruling my life and I hate it, does this ever start to fade? I just want this behind me, and I want think about other things but this stuff is just so all consuming sometimes. I am actually feeling pretty good 8 days PFC and I am not depressed, just obsessed...
