Jpmom...you made me laugh with the two scars your mom wouldn't fess up to...ha, ha!

Kim...my understanding is that you can also use Latisse for your brows. Good luck!

JP, When I was 14 years old, I ran into an overhang in the gym during gym class and gashed the top of my head open. It sounds worse than it was, but I required seven stitches to close the wound. One of my teachers wondered if the stitches would leave a scar. Of course, my hair grew over the wound so we never knew if I had a scar or not. When I lost my hair during chemo, I learned for certain that the stitches I had had46 years earlier di not leave a scar.

JP, I discovered two huge scars on my scalp, and every time my husband noticed them again, he would ask, incredulously, "you really don't remember how you got those???" I still have no idea, but we used to run around in the woods by ourselves.

Heeh, amazing the things we learn about ourselves. I ran off to the dermatologist when my hair both scalp and nether regions fell out I found spots on my skin that I didn't know about and was worried about skin cancer. Not the case thank goodness but some things have seen the light of day that hadn't since I was pre pubescent.

I have a nifty scar on my forehead from crashing on a cement curb as a child. It's usually covered by my bangs. I also have a birthmark under my eyebrow hair. That's become visible. I knew it was there but DH just discovered it after 32 years of being married to me!

My head is shaped better than I thought it would be but the very noticeable dent on my head was a surprise. Unfortunately, my mom died last year so I couldn't ask her about being dropped on my head as a child. That could explain a lot of things that I've been blaming on "chemo brain". The fat bumps gave new meaning to the term "fat head". Who knew when you gained weight it could go straight to your head!

Tried "living proof" anti frizz system. Shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner & styling cream. Small sizes ina kit for $29 in ulta. Definitely smoothed the curl & took out frizz. Its not a straightener, but it got rid of the frizz so the curls don't look so bad. Still wearing wig, but at least I can stand to look in the mirror without it.

Michele, thanks. The back and sides are coming in as thick as ever, even though I'm keeping it cut very short to control the one sided curl, but the top is maddeningly slow to fill in!

Ossa you look great!  What a great milestone!

I took my kids to my hairdresser to get their hair cut and I went topless in public.  I may do it more often... still a little shy though.  Plus they keep stores and restaurants around here way too cold in summer.

I splurged and got some dangly girly earrings for me to wear when I go topless to soften my very GI Jane look.   Kohls had a great sale.

Thank you ladies you are much to kind.. I am not one who likes having my picture taken, but knowing how much it helped me looking at BC gals getting their hair back when I did not have any hair made me realize I need to do the same for those of you now waiting for hair growth.. Mine is growing super slow as I am on Herceptin only four more treatments then hopefully my hair will start growing faster.. Hair dresser suggested I start using Nioxin Diamax ( I am already using Nioxin shampoo and Conditioner as well as scalp therapy) Was told to use Diamax daily and in twelve days my hair should look fuller (guaranteed) was quite pricey,,($41.00 in Canada) but I will try anything I will keep you posted

I'm guessing this question has already been asked, but with 533 pages of comments I thought it would be easier to ask again.  :o)

I had my last chemo treatment in April of 2011 (TAC, yuck) and I'm still really thin on the top of my head.  I was just curious if others were still dealing with thin hair after over a year since their last treatment.  I should probably add that while chemo ended in April of 2011, in May I had a mastectomy, then in July I started radiation which finished in September, and then in March of 2012 I had reconstruction surgery.  So while chemo's been over for a while, my body has still been going through the ringer.  It wasn't until this past April that I really started to feel, well better, although still not 100%.

So anyway, how long did it take for you to get a nice full head of hair again?

I have been lurking on this thread for months, and every single one of you have given me so much hope and inspiration as I wait (not so patiently!) for my hair to grow back.  One of the best pieces of advice I read was to take weekly pictures to look back on when feeling down about how slowly haor seems to be growing.  I just put mine into a little mini-timeline, and I am sharing because I know how motivating it has been for me to see all of your picture progressions!  To provide some context: I had my final DD Taxol on April 26th, and have been taking biotin and using John Masters organics follicle spray twice daily.  My hair is filling in quickly and so far no sign of chemo curls.  The most amazing growth was my eyebrows and eyelashes - it felt like they came back almost overnight!  I am almost ready to go topless in public.  I was a terrible wig wearer and can count on one hand how many times I wore that stuffed animal on my head!  I stuck with hats, but can't wait to not need to co-ordinate a stupid hat with my wardrobe every day!

Hmmm...looks like my picture timeline didn't load.  Any tech support would be appreciated!  In the meantime I updated my avitar...this pic is 10 weeks PFC.
