We were dressed and ready to go out for a Dinner & Theatre
evening.We turned on a 'night light', turned the answering machine on, covered our
budgie and put the cat in the back garden.We phoned the local Taxi company and requested a taxi.
The taxi arrived and we opened the front door to leave the house.As we walked out the door, the cat we had put out in the yard scooted back
into the house. We didn't want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to get at the budgie.My wife walked on out to the taxi, while I went back inside to get the cat.
The cat ran upstairs, with me in hot pursuit.
Waiting in the cab, my wife didn't want the driver to know that the house
will be empty for the night.So, she explained to the taxi driver that I would be out soon. "He's
just going upstairs to say Goodbye to my mother."A few minutes later, I got into the cab. "Sorry I took so long,"
I said, as we drove away. "That stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. I had to
poke her arse with a coat hanger to get her to come out!
She tried to take off, so I grabbed her by the neck. Then, I had to wrap her
in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked! I hauled her
fat arse downstairs and threw her out into the back garden!She'd better not shit in the vegetable garden again!"
The silence in the Taxi was deafening.

Good morning, Loungettes! Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th. I wound up working a full day. I should have known by now not to believe the "it'll be quiet" line. Oh, well, it's all at holiday time, so that takes some of the sting out of it. And I did volunteer. Got to learn not to do that so much. Was hoping to get some more mowing done today but it's raining and foggy and generally too wet to do much of anything outside right now. So it's back to working in the house. One of the women at work has a sewing machine she's only used once that she says I can have if it meets my needs, so now I have more incentive to get the sewing room clean up finished. Gonna use that motivation!
Juliet--white chocolate ANYTHING is wonderful! I know I'm late, are there any left over?
DorKable--HOORAY for shadows on mammograms! Much better to have a shadow than the rat ba$#ard. Now go pee!
Beanie--A new cabin? What fun! Even if it needs some work, it sounds wonderful. Putting a little work into it will make it really your own. And you can dwink while working!
Wahine--Hmm, 8 am flying drink. Bloody Mary? Bailey's on the rocks sounds good, too. Anything you want that they have is a good choice in my mind!

Goldie--I do have a nice sized yard. The hard to see part is the torrential rain! That was some storm that blew through. There was a couple rolls of thunder, but he rain was so heavy I couldn't see any lightning. Lots of trees and limbs down. Supposed to get more of the same today.

Goot morning NM. I sawry you can't play outside, but motivation for the sewing room to be cleaned to get that FREE sewing machine is worth it. As for the person in that kayak, I would rather that be a whale, instead of a SHARK. We got a little bit of much needed rain last evening. It wasn't much, but we'll take whatever we can get. I don't think I could deal with rain and gray skies all the time. I remember those days from living in MI. Although it gets hot here, we almost ALWAYS have sunshine.

Yeahhhhhhh for Pau Hana!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im with ya DorKiest......So glad there is still room for me here..did Allie break any knees to make dat happen???? she's da bestliest!! DH sez he can hear beetles eating the wood and mice in the walls. Itza new adventure and I still habnt tode my fam cuz I jest don’t wanna hear the flack. I hab a different lifestyles is allz.

KAT-Safe travels. NM-No recipe for that drink,looked good though! LORI and MEMA-You missed a great party. BEANS-My pre-op was monday and just consisted of a blood test. So now i'm set to go. As for your cabin don't let other people bother you. Did you ever see the Money Pit? That reminds me of my last place,lots of gutting but worth it in the end. And I almost bought a condo in Vegas awhile back. It's a great place to visit/live,have fun w/it. Well tonite i'm on guard duty-my little one is terrified of fireworks so of course every a** in town has to set them off around the clock. I think they even lit dynamite last nite,no kidding. And tonite it's still going on. He won't stop following me and trying to get into my lap. For awhile we looked like siamese twins. Better get off the comp and take care of business. The old man looked him up and down and said, "Well, for one thing, you're wearing your gun too high. Tie the holster a little lower down on your leg."
"Will that make me a better gunfighter?" asked the young man.
"Sure will," replied the old-timer.
The young man did as he was told, stood up, whipped out his 44 and shot the bow tie off the piano player.
"That's terrific!" said the hot shot. "Got any more tips for me?"
"Yep," said the old man. "Cut a notch out of your holster where the hammer hits it. That'll give you a smoother draw."
"Will that make me a better gunfighter?" asked the younger man.
"You bet it will," said the old-timer.
The young man took out his knife, cut the notch, stood up, drew his gun in a blur, then shot a cufflink off the piano player.
"Wow!" exclaimed the cowboy. "I'm learnin' somethin' here. Got any more tips?"
The old man pointed to a large can in a corner of the saloon. "See that axle grease over there? Coat your gun with it."
The young man went over to the can and smeared some of the grease on the barrel of his gun.
"No," said the old-timer, "I mean smear it all over the gun, handle and all."
"Will that make me a better gunfighter?" asked the young man.
The Old Timer said,
"No, but when Wyatt Earp gets done playing the piano, he's gonna shove that gun up your ass, and it won't hurt as much if it's all greased!"

Good morning, Loungettes! I am getting so excited 'cause I'm meeting another breastie next week! I'm meeting bookart from the e-LAB thread (eat like a bird). She's coming to Maine for the first time for her art, and is going to take a day out so I can show her some of central Maine. This is going to be such fun!
Goldie--Love the Duck Harbor Duck Farts, makes me think of Deadliest Catch. Hmm, I started watching that when I was first diagnosed and doing the whole surgery and rads thing. Watched it some more when I was suffering through rads side effects misery and again through recon recovery. Picked it up again when Captain Phil died. Funny, he died just about the time the beast stopped being the main focus of my life, almost like his story was a reflection of mine. Yeah, very self centered, I know, but the thought is there. Now I'm getting to like the show again without Capt. Phil, and at the same time I'm really starting to take control of my life and enjoy it again, without the constant focus on the rat ba$#ard. Hmm. Weird, I know, but then I've been called weird myself from time to time. . .
Mema--that last day before vacay can be a long, long, day! Hope it goes easily!
Goldie--I'd rather be kayaking with whales, too, but since my level of expertise isn't up to ocean kayaking I'll be content with osprey, eagles and fish in the ponds and streams. Although I could go out with one of the tours on the ocean. Hmm, even more to think about! I usually kayak alone, so I have to be mindful of conditions and my level of ability, which is not much higher than beginner. I do more exciting paddles when I have someone to go with, which isn't often I'm afraid. It would be so cool to be kayaking and get a bump from a whale!
Orange--I've never heard of Gulani Dipandi, but I bet she has a job where she can be waited on or at least not have to move around too much. It is possible to work with the drains in, I had a drain for 6 weeks after my mast (it was after rads and that screwed up my ability to heal) and worked with the drain in place for the last 4 weeks of that time. I was teaching so I could stay within my restrictions on lifting and such. Hang in there, it does get better! Keep on dwinking!
Beanie--I need to teach Silly Sadie how to bring me my coffee in the ams! OK, I don't have a lot of experience with hangovers, some but not much, and I'm quite sure the Mexican hangover cure would NOT help! The stuff in the bowl, it looks revolting even not being hung over! WHAT is that? Chicken, maybe? But what are the white things??????? Now the Irish hangover cure is more up my alley, except for the 'shrooms. I prefer my fungus in capsule form! Ah, Mimosas! That's more like it! Looks like I'm being health conscious, but has good stuff in it!
Orange, how old are you? Or is that a forbidden question in the lounge? I can't remember. I know "sorry" is forbidden. . .
Stella--Nice pic of you with a princess, and with Cinderella, too! And with the bones and the birds, and having a wild time! Looks like you had a great trip!
DorKable--I've got to get some videos of SillySadie being silly in the yard and the pool. Yesterday she was very industriously digging in the dirt next to the dog house she never uses, I was watching her wondering what she was after. She would dig and dig and dig, and turn around and toss dirt where she just dug and then, FINALLY, she spun around 3 times and when flop in the hole. Apparently she was digging out a cool spot to lie down. Of course she was wet from being in the pool and to all muddy, but she was very happy looking! Washed the kitchen floor 5 times yesterday, still see some mud. Thank goodness for Swiffer!
CynCyn--the last estrogen producing episode is a great reason for a partay! Lets get one going. We'll have to fire up the fire pit for the appropriate ceremonial burning of the supplies!
Beanie--cabins are SUPPOSED to be in remote locations, that's part of the reason for having one. Doesn't that agent know ANYTTHING? I hope you found a better agent to get your insurance from.
Undy--fireworks are legal for the first time in Maine this year. The neighgbors have been lighting them off every evening for weeks, not that this is new, there's just more of them now. The next door neighbor put on his own little show on the 4th, I could sit in my recliner and watch the whole thing. Not as exciting as a professional show, but plenty of fun to watch. My Sadie stands next to me and shivers when all the pops and bangs are going off. Fortunately, as long as I tell her it's ok and pet her she settles and stays calm.

NM, I have not heard of that person nor that thread, but meeting a breastie is SOOOOO EXCITING. Deadliest Catch is what turned me on to the Duck Farts. And not weird at all how you reflect on that show and your experience. We had quit watching, as it seemed to be sort of same ole, same ole. May pick back up on it tho, who knows. Well, I was in need of a new mascara. Bought one, and when I went to wash my face, the chit would NOT come off. So I look, and it's waterproof. No amount of soap works, so needless to say, I will be getting more today. We also have our gal from Taiwan (Lilian) coming to stay with us until Monday.

goldie--Deadliest Catch did get into a run of same old, same old, but at the time that consistency was comforting to me. Such a weird thing to compare my journey to, but it fits! And to be honest, I don't catch it regularly now. Actually not watching much TV right now, more interested in my audiobooks. I'd be a bit upset if I bought waterproof mascara too, but since I don't have many eye lashes I don't bother with all that. I'm jealous of women who can, though!

NM - on the cabin I was quoted $2400 annual HO premium and gaged, so have been getting more quotes. There is a fire stn 2 miles from the place. Thanks for understanding that cabins are posta be remote. LOVE the DOTD!!! YAY!!! LAST DAY OF WORK!!! I'm filling up my bath tub with this stuff and grabbin a big straw!! Thank you!
Goldie - Dang, I knew something was wrong, I must pulled on
the wrong pants yesterday. You really tink I shud say wat sis sed? Well, we was
out to din din on Muddah's Day, me 2 sisas, one niece and one sisas SO. My
sisas SO is my age and he hadda heart attack a few years ago so he's had to
face a lot of fears n stuff and he takes a lotta meds, etc. He habs become Buddist and works hard to keep stress level low. He's doing well, which is good. So my other sis starts in telling him how lucky he was that he only had a heart attack because there are really good treatments for that and all...then goes on to tell him how lucky he was not to get cancer cuz it's just awful and the tweetments are awful and she goes on and on about it. I was sitting next to her just thinking, "exactly when did I enter the twilight zone?" Okay, dats it, maybe I'm kinda
sensitive, but it was just really weird. I know she did not mean to be hurtful, but this stung.
