OMG wahine how horrile---these storms can be so vicious, but I can imagine when u saw u'r family what a relief. Those memories never leave and when u hear that word again (hope not) it scares the hell out of u.

OK round of drinks for anyone and everyone.

Thanks Cami! Yeah, I had not even thought about it, and boom, there it is on the news. Awhile after I was widowed, I dated a guy that had lost his wife in that tornado(I had known her and the kids). And I always felt sorry for their family as EVERY year they would be interviewed about how they felt on that day, etc. I am glad for them that it finally stopped. Of course, now our city has the paper online and just prints it 3xwk, otherwise it would have been blaring at us today from the newspaper.

    Thanks for the dwinks!!!

    Happy holidays to everyone.

Morning Juliet - I missed your smiley face.

No one believes seniors . . . everyone thinks they are senile.

An elderly couple was celebrating their sixtieth anniversary. The couple had married as childhood sweethearts and had moved back to their old neighborhood after they retired. Holding hands, they walked back to their old school. It was not locked, so they entered, and found the old desk they’d shared, where Andy had carved “I love you, Sally.”

On their way back home, a bag of money fell out of an armored car, practically landing at their feet. Sally quickly picked it up and, not sure what to do with it, they took it home. There, she counted the money - fifty thousand dollars!

Andy said, “We’ve got to give it back.”

Sally said, “Finders keepers.” She put the money back in the bag and hid it in their attic.

The next day, two police officers were canvassing the neighborhood looking for the money, and knocked on their door. “Pardon me, did either of you find a bag that fell out of an armored car yesterday?”

    Sally said, “No”.

Andy said, “She’s lying. She hid it up in the attic.

Sally said, “Don’t believe him, he’s getting senile”

The agents turned to Andy and began to question him.
One said: “Tell us the story from the beginning.”

Andy said, “Well, when Sally and I were walking home from school yesterday .....”

The first police officer turned to his partner and said, “We’re outta here!”

Kathy, you have that pilot tip his wings when you go by me! I’ll wave!!!! Certainly you will be flying over me, eh? I saw those nuns just the other day, while looking for a DOTD! They sure get around!

I forgot to tell u--well first I did fall--but I do that alot--but this has never happened to me=====My f went to the bathroom and I was getting up to put my javket on, as I was struggling with the arms my pants fell down and I do wear Depends--not the pretty ones. I know this would have embarrased her, but I just calmy got my arms thru and oicked them up--it really didn't bother me.  Oh it's hard to take me anywhere sometimes. That's why I like our lounge no one cares what I look like. or what I'm wearing LOL

    Hello loungettes,

This place is sooo quiet. I stop by to try to bring de lounge to life. Come on, let's partay! I am having a good time but coming home in de morning, seems DorKy is a sick Dorky, I have a terrible cough. Just had my last dwink of de night, alka selzer, yum! NOT! Had a nice time at the Legends Show last night, that is a group of famous entertainer look alikes. Saw Michael Jackson, Elvis, Lady Gaga, Steven Tyler and Donna Sommers.

Cami, I am glad you having date night with your grandbaby, so sweet. I have to say that I laughed when I read about your fall and exposing your depends. At the same time,  I wanted to cry, mese don't like hearing that you are falling, so glad you did not hurt yourself.

Bernie, loved your joke about the armoured truck, oh I wish I would find a big back of money on the road.

So empty in here tonight, I guess I will try for more sleep. I came up early, did not feel up to gambling which is good cuz mese always lose. But Steve always does well. I made him stop last night when he was up 1k but I think he put most of it back tonight. We are having a nice time but I wish I could breath right and stop de damn coughing.

I'd like to borrow a tender to care for me untl mese all better. And I gotzta get better soon cuz mese gotta work on Wednesday.....waaaaaaaaa, mese don't wanna go!

Lori, loved that news article about the old lady highjacking the car, that is funny!

Lara, love seeing the Gerber baby all grown up. But that other pic with the beard ting, uhh...not sure what that was but it wasn't purdy.

Hello to the rest of you ladies and to those of you traveling, wishing you all safe travels. And don't worry Cam, I will be around to keep ye company and dwink with you. It is up to us to keep this place up and running. I could not believe there are only a handful of posts in 72 hours. So many of us have traveled but trust me Cam, I am not a frequent flyer!

I love you girls, please say prayers that I feels better. OMG, my rip cage, my foob and my back are killing me from the massive jolts from coughing fits. It is the pits feeling so terrible. I am lucky though as I will get better. I hope NM can stop by with some good advise on treating a bronchial infection. I know the usual, plenty of fluids (not likker, dammit), lots of advil for body aches and cough drops (another half milliion bucks spend on those).

I am going to step into the HTL Chapel and say prayers for all of mese girls. You all bring something special to our lounge. Ok, time to pass out. I lift my glass of water and say CHEERS!

OMG Dork if u have an infecion u have to have an antibiotic---no 2 ways about it---Oh the coughing it must be horrible with all the stuff going on with u'r new boobies and don't lay down prop illows up and sleep in more of an upright position. Use steam into u'r nose, and breath it in and out and use vicks just under u'r nose, u don't want to put any on u'r chest yet but u could on u'r back, but if it's a common cold that's one thing, but if u'r prone for infrction u know u have to call the Dr. I used to love (still do) my old Gp I'd call hime and tell hin what I had and he's ask me a few questions and say I'll call in a perscription--I always diagnosed myself --now I have to go in then they have to diagnose me. Hahaha----Of all times to not feel good First u'r away trying to have some fun and 2nds u ave to start work next week--STOP IT.FEEL GOOD that's an order.Whenever I get a cold or infection--I call my sister and se says I say I've never been so sick in my whole entire life, so I know u must feel terrible.  But other than that--are u aving a good time???Well write when u get home safe and sound and on u'r way out try to win one more time. LOL

Good morning, Loungettes!  I've had a rather busy couple of days with a patient/family in crisis, so I've put in some longish hours and haven't been playing on the computer.  Good news is the crisis is under control.  Now I've got to get some personal recharging done this weekend.

Goldie--do you mean hypnotizing lobstahs?   Sure, all the time, especially as a kid.  It's lots of fun!

Wahine--I wish I'd traveled as much as you have.  I'd love to see all those exotic and different places.  I don't know about shrimp, but lobsters can live out of water for a few days, especially if they are in the fridge.  And fast moving traffic so close to me would scare me silly!  Glad your DH saved you!

CynCyn--don't blame you for cashing in on the insurance benes, considering how much we pay in premiums it's only fair to get some of it back.

Welcome, Beatmon!  I may have to try that drink sometime soon.  But WITH caffiene, other what's the point of coffee?

Kymn--I can imagine how hard it would be to start with a new counselor, but it doesn't sound like your current one is terribly helpful.  Or maybe you and current one just need more time?  I know it's important to develop a relationship with a counselor.  Hang in there!

Cammy--I think hypnotizing lobstahs is a Maine thing, sort of a cultural bit of oddness.

ORLA--That must be some wind to blow that tree over!  Scary!

Juliet--sounds like you got Stella really tired out!  Good for you!

Wahine--I've often wondered about daylight savings time, too.  It's nice having sunshine when I'm getting up, but dark by 4:30 is the pitts!

DorKable--my fav tender has aways been Jock, isn't that odd?  Mr. Big is very, very nice, but I still like Jock better!  Guess I don't do change well.

Cammy--around here kids are still coming home in the dark even after the time change.  And I hear the dairy farmers complaining 'cause the cows don't adapt to the time change, they just ignore it!   Do plants care what time it is?  Can't farmers do what they do no matter what time the clock says?  I mean, do tractors not start before a certain time unless the sun is shining?  Just doesn't make sense to me.  But then, what do I know?

    BBBBernie--LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

ORLA--go right ahead and rant. It's ok to be scared before surgery, and waking up in pain last time is not a good memory or expectation to have going in this time.  Be sure you talk to your surgeon and the anesthesia people about waking up in a lot of pain last time, and program yourself to tell them when you are in pain this time and to keep telling them until they make the pain go away.  The walking and running is a great way to get in shape before surgery, but you may do better working on getting the weight off after this one is over and you are completely healed.  Our families and friends feed us because that is what our culture does.  Feeding = caring.  Eating what is brought to us = loving the person who brought it.

Oh, My, that certainly was a memorable senior moment!  My mom had one this week.  She called me up Wednesday evening, asked if I was ready to come for dinner the next day, she had one pie done and the turkey all thawed out.  I had to tell her that Thanksgiving was not until next week!  Priceless moment!

You know, the gerber baby is STILL beautiful!

    Hey, Adey!

Oh, Dorkable, not good that you feel so crummy!  Sounds like you need to add a decongestant to you medication regimen.  And you definitely need to take one before getting on a plane or your ears are going to be VERY ouchie!  I'm a fan of putting boiling water in a cup and sniffing the steam to help clear out stuffy noses and sinuses.  If you've got cough drops with eucalyptus or menthol or mint in them, drop one in the hot water.  The vapors are almost as good as Vaporub or whatever. Hope you feel better quickliest!  And visiting a walk in care center to see if you need antibiotics is a good idea, too.

Princess Glitter Sizzle's DOTD is the Travelor

    2 cl vodka

    2 cl citrus vodka

    2 cl current vodka

    Sprite

Pour the ingredient into a glass 1/3 full of ice.  Fill to top with sprite.

Kathy, have a wunnerful time, and don’t foyget to have the pilot tip his wing.

NM, you have me bustin one over the cows not caring what time it is! Too funny. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the DOTD………look at all that wodka. Thinking TG was this past Thursday is SOOO something I would do.

Hmmm, I missed the Gerber baby, gonna have to page back.

Lara, please try not to use up your time before surgery worrying. I know that is easier, way easier, said than done. But the stress is not good for you. Do you have family to care for you when you get home, or friends?

    Happy Sat TURD day ladies
