Cheryl: you really do have cute feet!!!
LB: Hope your insurance covers the expenses!
Bounce and Annie: I love those expressions about sweat. Physical activity sweat is so much better that hot, humid sweat. After being active we glow and shine for healthy reasons!
My liquid awesome is drying up from my walk/run at the park. Pretty day today - it was 63 degrees and sunny.

Thanks, everyone! My head is back to my version of normal.

Pretty sure it was hormone related as, well, let's just say things are a-changing.

Today is normally my off day due to my schedule, but I managed to work up some liquid awesome at work today. If you think librarians get to sit and read all day you are WRONG!!! Lol. I moved A LOT of books and sections around. But tomorrow I'll be back to my basement stairs. Hoping on Thurs my PS will clear me for the bike again. (Please, please, please!!!)

Shovel and sculpt this morning before work. Reading through to try and get myself motivated rather than just living through you ladies. Really can't wait for the cold to be gone as walking is really my exercise of choice. Will make myself put together a gym bag and go straight from work tomorrow. Need those voices to come on very strong - thanks!

I love that this thread is so active - but my oh my it makes it hard to catch up when time is short and it's been 2-3 days since I checked it. I love you all and say 'Great job!' to everyone who's been consistently moving and 'Hang in there - tomorrow's another day' to those who have had an interruption to their workout routines.
I have been (as my dear MIL would say) 'busier than a 3-peckered goat' lately and do not foresee that changing any time soon. Work is crazy busy with my normal daily operational responsibilities as well as the additional duties for several months of being the business consultant on a major project.
I do, however, do my best to get in my early A.M. workouts because I'm too pooped to peep in the P.M. Group fitness class yesterday, today it was 3 miles walk/run on the treadmill with lower back, abs and stretching. Tomorrow morning will be group fitness again (in case I don't get a chance to check in here).
Gotta go plate a bunch of baked goods for a bake sale at the office tomorrow. Got the baking done a week and a half ago (marathon session on a Sunday) and it's all been in the freezer since then.
ttfn everyone!

Did 20 minutes on the Elliptical this evening before doing some legs and abs. Would have preferred a run but the treadmills were busy tonight. Gonna switch up my exercise routine this week by doing a "soldier fit" workout on Thursday. It is led by an Iraq Vet and should kick my hinney.

Reporting in: Cleaned house x 2 today. Cat dragged litter, toys and assorted stuff all over. Then litter all over the tile. It was back to mopping floor, doing laundry and a second vacuuming of the house today. I'm still on track to get 8 hours in this week though - I've done 3 hours and 21 miles. I do hate using up my off day so early in the week! ugh
Congrats everyone on all the exercises!
I don't mind sweating at the gym, I like competing against the guys so that they know what a 'real workout' looks like!

Patoo....JUST DO IT!!!!!
loud enough?

Body Step class tonight, have to say I've been sweating differently lately, tonight as we were planking I noticed my hands and arms were 'glowing' and Amber liquid was pouring down my face.
Patoo,
Go to the gym....... Can you hear me now!!!!!!!0 -

Mary this is for you, took this tonight over my back fence, the kids are in the school yard playing ball, your season is almost here

How lovely to see green grass!!!
Treadmill done.

Must have done about 500 squats yesterday doing "stuff"....tried to work the core with it too. Hope nobody figured out what I was doing. It must have had some benefit, cause wooheeeeee, my quads are sore this morning!!!! Also did 30 minutes of yoga (even "glowed" during that, Ruth), so I'm happy with the effort of yesterday.

Shovel and Sculpt today...and I'm excited to go back out for more later because it's supposed to be 40 degrees today!!!! Time to dig my shorts out!!!
Tomorrow says icy rain. But I shall ignore that for the moment.

Cheryl - thanks for the baseball picture! It looks soooo good, especially since we still have several inches of snow on the ground. Annie - don't worry about being a slow runner - I'm as slow as there is! If you have a smartphone, Nike has a running app that tracks your mileage, speed, steps, and even gives you a little map of your run. It's called Nike Running. S&S - your MIL sounds like a pistol! Dulci - glad your head is better. Ruth - you've hit on the best secret of yoga - shavasana!!

Speaking of in-laws, DH's parents (86 y.o.) were in a car crash Friday - his dad was driving and rear ended someone. He's got a broken sternum and his mom has broken ribs. They've been in the hospital but may be released today. DH has three sisters out there (California) who are shouldering the burden of this, bless them. Looks like The Talk about stopping driving is unavoidable now - there was no reason for them to be driving as one of their daughters had just taken them shopping earlier that day in an effort to avoid something like this from happening, but obviously they felt the need to go out again. Their car was so damaged as to be undriveable, which helps that situation - if they don't have a car, they have nothing to drive, and I have a feeling no one out there will be in a hurry to take them car shopping.
DH had another nerve block yesterday at the hospital so he's gotten some pain relief today. Between the blocks and PT, his chronic pain syndrome is getting better, but it's a slow road. But on the good side Mikey got his satellite dish off yesterday - his corneal abrasion is finally healed. I've been the only healthy one in the house lately - imagine that!

30 minutes elliptical this morning, while watching the women's sprint relay cross country skiing - very inspirational! Yin yoga class scheduled for tonight.

Wonderland, no insurance coverage yet Brian the tree whisperer showed up (he is into yoga!) today and will charge a reasonable £90 to do the work next Friday and make the wood small enough that we can load it on DH's red tractor mower wagon to take to our bonfire in the large field. How were the GS cookie sales, still going on? NatsFan/Mary, oh dear and lucky that in-laws are alive. Good on your DH to get relief and yes, you are the healthy one!

Partner step, body attack and body balance at the gym this morning.

Yikes Mary.....I know the elderly parent/driving talk. My dad was in an accident too. Thankfully no one was injured, but his car was battered enough where I had them haul it off & said, 'Total it, even if it isn't totaled." I then gave him the 'this was your warning & God isn't going to be very thrilled if you show up at the pearly gates dragging along someone else whom you've killed in an accident' speech.....and THEN when he asked where the car was, I said, "I have no idea. I can't remember who towed it off or where they took it." He was SHOCKED that I could be so foolish, but other than asking every once and awhile whether I had ever turned up the car again (nope), that was the end of that. SAD!
Walked with the Wednesday Women again at the local civic center. I got a new camera app. on my phone, so was playing with it. I will skip Zumba tonight because the local college basketball teams are playing their arch-rival here in town for the final home games of the season. That is why we are cheering in the stands, and down on the court.

Patoo- sometimes we can overthink the workout. I echo Ruth "just do it". It's easier once you show up (don't overthink things). 80% of the battle is just showing up. Once you show up, the rest will take care of itself! Also, if you like walking and it's cold out, how about walking inside the mall. And then if you see something you like in a store window, make that your goal, that you get to buy it if you do xx amount of work over xx amount of time!

Did weights at the gym before work and going to walk the dogs with DH now.

This looks kind of 'yoga-ish' to me!

Everything I've learned, I've learned from my cats!

Hit the treadmill after work today for a 30 minute run/walk plus arm exercises with weights. Off to boot camp class tomorrow after work.....

Very cool app Ruth. Mary glad DHs parents are okay, giving up the keys is one of the hardest things it's like the end of independence, good to know DH is getting relief and Mikey has his cone off, give Mikey a big hug from me. LB that certainly is a much more reasonable price for the tree chopping, what is partner step?
This morning did Sh'bam and then tonight went to Body Combat with an instructor I met last week, oh man it was fantastic, one of those classes where about 40 minutes in I was gulping air and praying my lunch would stay down
there was a class afterwards called Hot Hula ohhh I might give it a try next week.0 -
I have never heard of Body Combat! I wonder if there is a You Tube video out there that I can watch.
Reporting in: 50 minutes - 7 miles EFX. Pure liquid awesome.

IBD yup it's all over YouTube it's called Les Mills Body Combat , just type in Jericho McDuffie, she's an amazing Combatter but she's also the sweetest girl you could ever meet and she's my Sh'bam instructor

Hope your IL's recover soon.... and don't think of driving again, Natsfan. Thanks for the tip on the Nike running app. I have got to get myself started running again on the treadmill now that it's hayfever time. I guess the map feature won't help that much for that but I could still use it when it's rainy outside.
I ordered a new piece of equipment for strength training at home, the revoflex extreme. When I start getting lazier about exercising (aka as too many rest days like yesterday), I buy some toys to get me doing something again. I usually end up giving them away after they've served their purpose. But some I keep, like the kettlebells. They don't eat up too much space.

Yes, my IL are lucky to be alive and lucky that they didn't hurt anyone else. They rearended a large SUV, so the occupants in that vehicle were OK. Ruth - I told DH about your "no more driving" speech to your dad, and he thought that the part about getting to the pearly gates accompanied by a few innnocent people they'd taken out would really hit home with his parents. He's going to be out there in early March, so maybe that'll be the time for a family conference. And yes, it was very careless of you to misplace your dad's car like that!

Heidi - you can use the Nike running app on a treadmill too - there's a setting where you tell it whether you're running outside or on a treadmill, and it will adjust. I like having a record of all my runs - indoors and out. I even use it when we hike, just to track how far we hike. I googled that revoflex - you're going to have rock hard abs using that thing! Odie - your bootcamp sounds scary but fun. Let us know how it goes.
There may be a spring after all - we've had a couple of days of 50+ degree weather and the snow is melting. This morning there was a small bare patch in my front garden, and I saw some daffodils just starting to poke out of the ground. I hope they don't regret their optimism.
90 minute yin yoga class last night - I'm really getting to LOVE that class. In yin yoga, you hold the poses for 5 minutes at a time. By holding the pose for so long, you really feel the muscles, tendons, and ligaments stretching out as you sink deeper and deeper into the pose. For instance, imagine holding a wide leg forward fold for 5 minutes - you'll get an idea of how much release you'd get in your hips, lower back, and inner thighs holding it for that long. That's what it's like the whole class.
Elliptical this morning.

Hi Ladies
I feel like a haven't posted for a bit but I'm glad to say I have been doing my walk to work - 35 minutes.
This morning was actually hot!
Heidihill - I Googled the revoflex extreme it looks like fun for someone with muscles- deadly for someone like me. Let us know how it goes.
I am going to look for some theraband exercises for upper body to do - a bit lame but something I can manage.

Cheryl, partner step is freestyle step routine with two on one step. One on the right, one on the left and the center is a red zone, not to be touched. Our instructor always does fun things during term break because that is how long a weekly routine will last, term to term. Odie, we have a number of bootcamps here in the UK and they use public parks and now parks charge bootcamps for using the park for their business. NatsFan/Mary, does your rec dept. charge for bootcamps to use the park?
Body balance and pink pilates this morning and was able to get to the 4pm yoga because I did not have to pick a boy up at the train station at 4:30!

Last night I managed a 25minute walk. Relatively warm at 42 degrees but still a foot of snow. Today I'm sure I'll do nothing as I am dead tired and just need sleep.

Wow, am I sweaty right now, and proud of it! Ran another continuous mile, my third time to do that this week and also the third time in over two decades. This one was really hard because it's 80 degrees and humid and I had a Costco churro in my belly (true confession - had no business eating that thing.) I had walked the dogs a mile with DH after eating said churro and before running. Now I am off to take a shower before going back to work.
