A quick check-in. I've been walking, walking, walking on the beach & also touring some interesting museums. I'll post some pictures when I get home; which, if everything goes according to plan, will be late tomorrow evening.

    Great pictures Ruth!

We are also in the 80's but start stepping down tomorrow and go to high's in the 40's mid-week next week.

Have been only working 3-4 hrs a day during this "spring break" week…having lunch with my mother 3 days this week and playing the paino each day. Saving any real vacation time away for our trip to Alaska in May/June…will be gone two full weeks, mom's already having daily fits about it. Not sure I posted this before here, but a week or so ago (when the calendar turned to March and the May trip seemed in the near future), mom said - I thought I would be dead by the time you took that trip…I'm not sure I approve of it! 😂

I wouldn't approve of that either, TT!

Ruth: Hope your flights were uneventful.

DD had to run some errands this morning so I stayed with little grandson this morning. He liked to cry today.

Had Girl Scout Gold Award interviews by zoom this evening. One girl in my "room" was in for her exit review. She created STEAM bins filled with activities for 4th graders at an elementary school. The other 2 girls were in for their entry interviews. One will be creating/organizing a clothing closet at an elementary school and the other girl's project centers around teen mental health and suicide. I'm always in awe of these mature young ladies in high school. Girl Scouts definitely isn't just about selling cookies!

It's awesome to learn about some of the things the Girl Scouts are involved with, Wonderland!

TT, you will have to get a mom-sitter for when you're gone. When my dad was very elderly & we'd travel, we'd enlist different friends to go hang out with him. It made him feel better & us feel better too.

I am safely home after a lovely, relaxing week. Beach walks, reading by a pool, some interesting museums & good food. What's not to like?!

    Here's the sunrise yesterday.

A couple pictures from a couple museums that told the history of the Treasure Coast, so called because of all the treasure laden Spanish Galleons that sunk in fierce storms off the coast.

We also went to the Elliott Museum in Stuart. Along with their many wonderful permanent exhibitions, they had a couple fabulous traveling exhibitions. One of King Tut's tomb.

Another exhibit was the Faberge Imperial Egg Collection, created for the Russian Imperial Family. Fabulous (and I know why the peasants revolted)! These are replicas, the real things cost millions of dollars.

I went to Dance2fit last night & Pilates this morning; so am getting back into the swing of things. We may, or may not, get a big winter storm this weekend so I did another grocery run just in case.

Welcome back to reality, Ruth, ugh! We have winter weather on the way here, too. Signed up for a 5K tomorrow but going to MIL’s instead. We usually go Sundays but weather guessers say big snow (maybe) Sun-Mon. We skipped visiting the last two weeks so we’ll cook for her Sat then hunker down the rest of the weekend.

It took two weeks for me to feel well enough to get back into the swing of things. Won’t go into detail but it went from my head to my lungs. Nasty bug.

Monday, it was 70 degrees (!) so I walked. Gym Tuesday - Friday but took it very easy. Too much exertion brought on residual cough. No one wants to hear that or be next to it. 👎

Got to gym Thurday/Friday which makes 4 times this week, woohoo.

Our weather has been crazy too. On Thursday it dropped 30 degrees in 30 minutes 70 down to 40 and eventually 30's…all of this accompanied by wind/hail/snow…the clouds that came in were do densely black at 10am it looked like 7pm.

    Happy Pie Day

One of the math teachers at my school always brought pie for all her students on Pi Day & gave some to her teacher friends too.....so, I very much like Pi Day!

We took a good dog walk yesterday afternoon & another one this morning before the next round of storms. We seem on the edge of this one, but time will tell.

    Happy Pi Day!

Ruth: Beautiful pictures. Those eggs are amazing!

Badger: Goodness, I'm sorry you've been sick. I have wondered why you haven't posted in a while. Glad to hear you are improving.

TT: WTG on going to the gym 4 times this week.

Our weather has been up and down also. Today was beautiful - high of 72. Tomorrow and Monday bad rain, wind, tornado watch, etc is coming our way. I'm very nervous about it.

Played Mahjong with a friend yesterday. Walked today.

Shoveled this morning (we were just on the edge of the storm, so it wasn't that bad), and that is all. It was a catch-up-around-the-house sort of day.

Crazy spring weather! Sunday morning was a thunderstorm with small hail. Sunday night into Monday morning was snow and WIND. We got maybe six inches of snow here but the drifts were massive. Lots of school & business closings today due to blizzard conditions. Got my exercise shoveling.

We were on the the edge, but it's icy here today. Sigh!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hope everyone wore green today.

Our schools were cancelled yesterday bc of the weather forecast of possible tornado and just flat out awful weather. Somehow we missed the bad part. We had hard rain and wind that started in the afternoon but the rain didn't last that long. The wind stayed, though. Many other areas in the state had lots of damage.

Had my mammogram this morning. Fingers crossed.

Also today, dh and I started keeping our grandson during the day bc dd went back to work. We went to her house and will do that for the rest of the week. Hopefully next week dd will drop him off at our home. All went well as he is a really good baby.

    Hi Everyone,

I just restarted my trampoline workout. It's a home mini exercise trampoline. It's low impact. Honestly, I detest working out so for me it's great because it makes it more fun and enjoyable. I use light weights and set goals based on music. I'm currently at four songs [1 Bowie, 1 Queen, and 2 Aerosmith]. My goal is to add a favorite song/artist each week. I find using my playlist as motivation helpful :)

Happy (late) St Patrick's…my mother is half Irish and we had a little St Patrick's lunch party (mom, sister and me). I got take out from our favorite place for Irish dinner. When I told the owner that my mother (who is knows) was now 90+ and too frail to come him, he gave me the biggest hug to give to her! Mom was very pleased.

Only get to the gym one time this week due to crazy work schedule. But will walk to church tonight for our mid-week lent service.

We also had the crazy weather on Monday, Cat 4 (out of possible 5) tornado watch…gratefully it was a weird day but no tornadoes.

Here is a picture of what we have been like lately…in one day, 70's and trees blooming, then a 40 degree drop in temps with lightening storm, hail and snow. Tulip poplar blooming in left background and snow on the bushes in the courtyard in front of our home:

The weather has officially lost its mind!! It was 14 degrees here yesterday & might be 70 on Friday!!

The trampoline workout sounds fun, roselynvaz! I always like music driven workouts the best too.

Wonderland, I had my annual mammogram on Monday, so my fingers are crossed too.

Here's the Wednesday Walking Women. The other lady in the ribbons & boa and I were celebrating belated March birthdays.

Great playlist while you're jumping on your trampoline.

TT: Your yard is a picture of the weather conflict during March!

Ruth: Great WWW picture. Let us know your mammo results when you receive them.

Dh and I were with little baby boy all day. I even got to take a small nap while I was over at my dd's. I'm not a morning person so getting up early takes its toll on me lol. The struggle is real.

Walked and it felt great! 49 degrees and a dew point of 16 degrees. You know I'm all about the dew point.

DH and I went to aqua fitness and then we swam laps last week and 3 days this week so far. We try to go M-F now that we’re both retired.
Ruth-Loved the Fl pics and your WW group sure had the spirit!
Enjoy that baby time, Wonderland. It’s precious!

The snow is finally going away here in NE CT and I am so ready for spring! We have tiny daffodil sprouts coming up.

Welcome roslynvaz! I like classic rock but am partial to disco when on the treadmill.

We got another inch of snow Monday night so started Tuesday morning with more shoveling. Got to the gym yesterday but it’s getting nice out so walked outside today & probably will again tomorrow. Spring is here! The robins are back and my tulips & daffodils are coming up.

Ginger: That's great that you and your dh get to swim so often. It's a workout.

Ruth: Such a lovely picture. I want to visit and take a walk there.

Badger: I'm sure you're ready for spring to fully arrive and the snow goes away until next winter.

Well, dh and I survived our first week of taking care of little grandson. It's not a problem at all and I'm happy to do this for dd and sil. Not many daycares take infants and the cost of those who do is really high. Plus he's only 3 months old and quite adorable. We have the time so it only makes sense that we take care of him.

My mammo results came in: BIRADS 1 YAY!!!

Walked in the wind this afternoon.

    ruthbru Posts: 49,414

Yea, Wonderland. I'm still waiting for my results, hopefully by early next week.

Pilates this morning & another nice weather dog walk. Speaking of dogs & babysitting; we are taking care of the grandpuppies until Sunday evening while DS & DIL are out of town. So things are hopping around here!

Wonderland, glad to hear good mammo news! Fingers crossed for you, Ruth. I contacted my doc office about my “overdue” mammo. Turns out, there was an update to our electronic med record system. Doc had suppressed the notice but the update overrode them. They apologized and made it go away again.

SO nice today! 80 degrees and sunny wow. Cleaned out the flower beds and enjoyed the signs of life for this year’s blooms.
