Can we have a forum for "older" people with bc?

Hi to our New Yorkers, Joan and Jean.  Glad to hear from you both.  Joan, my niece is presently in a stable phase.  I talked to her mother a few minutes ago and she said Rebecca's meds seem to be helping her.  She's back at home with the kids and the father of the two oldest kids is staying there as well.  He had moved in during Rebecca's absence. 

Mommarch, how is your daughter doing?  Maybe she and my niece should move in together!!  A bad joke, for sure. 

We had rain last night, over an inch, but I slept through it.  This morning it was 20 degrees cooler and the humidity had gone.  I cancelled on Fri. golf because the course was wet and went to the gym instead.  It's a beautiful day, sunny and crisp.  Comfortable jeans weather.

This afternoon I plan to go to the oil & vinegar store to refill some of my bottles.  That's their marketing plan.  You buy the containers on the first purchase and then bring them back for re-filling.  I buy their grapeseed oil, the plain and the lime flavored.  The lime-flavored oil and a little champagne vinegar makes a delicious salad dressing.

Tonight we're going out to dinner with neighbors so no cooking!

Thanks for asking, she is in out patient treatment.  She had to go the the Dr. yesterday so she called in.  She has bronchitis again.  She went to her class today and they did a sobriety test, she passed.  I think she is doing OK.  Our DGD will not talk or see her, she told the judge that she wants to come back home to Texas.  Do Not know how that will work out.  It is heart breaking.  

Glad your Neice is in treatment also.

 Carole, we have one of those oil and vinegar stores where you take the bottle back ( can refill with a different kind if you want ) and it is a couple of dollars cheaper since its a REFILL.  The flavors make everything so good.  Our store sells some other things too -- like fancy marinara and spaghetti sauces.  I tried them and over-all felt I could get just as much out of the Classico brands.  I try for good in the way of made with what seems good ingredients which are pretty much things I can recognize and pronounce or some organic. 

Cammie we are due I think to get another "polar" blast but I missed the weather forecast today so just totally sure just when.....this coming week some time.  Grrrrr.  Well, I know most of the winter is over with and I'll have to put on my smiley face and be content that it is not just starting. 

I will be working....starting tomorrow......all week at my job from likely 7:30 a.m. to who knows for sure  but likely minimum of 8 p.m.  So that means hearing from me will happen late at night along with the quotes I like to leave.  The up side is always that waiting bills or repairs  ( and there is always something there it seems  in that category ) will get a chance to get paid  and or move up on my list.  So......though rugged it will work out and then I will go back to my regular schedule.

I too wish mommarch.....that DGD could just be sent to you and let it be.  I know these places have their rules and likely in some cases it is a good thing.  It just doesn't seem much of a good fit in this case.  Sigh!!!

Love the sun and warmth today.....though after, I don't think it will last long.  I'll see you all later.

Termite, joining you in the cough my head off club! Got back from our trip  and was greeted by this.

Think I'd fall on my face if I tried to wear some of those monster heels they wear now. Even the young women seem to be staggering in them. Wonder how many broken ankles  are from them?

Morning gals!  I LOVE all my new shoes you guys gave me...Ha! 

This was the exact shoe I was wearing when I stepped on that stupid rock in the alley, and I twisted my ankle, and fell like I knew what I was doing!

They have a narrower sole, than the usual Crocs, but I can't blame the shoes for me falling.... can I?  I mean they're CUTE I think...  It was just that ROCK that came out of nowhere!  I'm going to my PC this morning.... Man, I dread getting out, and into the car... blah-blah... but maybe they will take the stitches/staples/clamps or whatever they use, OUT! 

Carole, did your DH watch the races?  Those races, were the best ever!  JUNIOR WON!  I can't believe it!  I was laying in bed after that Looooooong rain delay, gave up on watching the whole thing, and found them starting again!   I was so happy for him!   It was a great race!

Hope you gals get over your coughs soon.... I remember breaking a rib one time.... coughing so hard, and wearing an under-wire bra..... Now considering my chances, sounds about like something I would do, right?    You should have seen them trying to pull of my compression stockings....Ha!  Even I laughed! 

Good luck today Chevy----u really think it was the shoes? maybe u were a little tipsy> we know how much u love u'r (code name) chocolate coke. Now the 2nd pair look better but maybe now u should wear something that give u full coverage so u'r ankle is held inside too.

I slept all day and most of the nite last nite and during the nit--which shocked me---I have an important job I have to stay awake for today, so I hope I can, LOL

Oh tell the truth Chevy, there was no rock, u thought there was one cuz a pebble looked like one after u'r "chocolate coke"

I'm off to Arizona with little to no internet.  I'll have a lot of reading to do.  By the way, my MO said give myself a break and think about dieting after i get off Arimidex in 5 years.     Also I read a study that said women who drink red wine heal faster from radiation dermatitis!!!  Friends gave me a bottle of chocolate/red wine last week to get started healing.  See you next week.

Mimi - I hadn't seen that study but will open a bottle of red wine tonight & get started with preventative care during rads. Everything tasted so horrible during chemo I didn't waste my money on drinks that I just had to throw out.  Have fun in Arizona.

SAS, I love the name, too!  I crochet but don't knit.  Is there a crochet pattern?  Are they hollow and filled with a filler?
