I meant to say yesterday Ruth I'm sorry about your friend, what a shock.  And Pat, bummer about your friend just dx with bc.  I posted then logged off and didn't see your post.  Sorry to seem insensitive!

Well in a classic case of be careful what you wish for you may get it, the moving van came yesterday.  When I showed up, mom was surrounded by boxes and looking bewildered.  So we unpacked boxes for four hours.  Wowsers what a lot of work!  I'm sore in unusual places.  Unpack & Sculpt?

On the good news front, we have 60 days to get mom's drivers license and car reg switched over so the DMV can wait.  And her disabled parking tag from FL is valid in WI until it expires in 2015 so one less thing to deal with.  I go back today and the plan is to hit Target for home goods then the grocery store.  I had stocked her 'fridge with a few basics but there are things she still needs.

When I got ready to leave yesterday, mom was pouring a glass of wine and was planning to take it down to the little "pub" on her floor to socialize with some of the residents including the nice lady from across the hall who is from the town where I live.  I am so hoping she makes friends and is happy in her new home.  ♥

32 degrees and a little snow. Just had a doctor appointment, but hoping to get home in time to get my run in before it starts "changing to a wintry mix, followed by rain." ScaredSad (Sobbing with Nihahi.) If not, I guess I'll be hooping while baking cookies. So that's a wash.

And sincere condolences for the bad news that several have faced this week. Life is so precious.

Pat, I'm sorry to read about your friend's recent diagnosis and good that she has you in her corner.  Wonderland, I doubt the  teachers in this country will ever get what they deserve,  including respect from the current idiot - backward Tory education minister that changes the school system on a whim using a 1950's mindset.

Body balance and pink pilates this morning and an exceptional vinyasa flow yoga class this afternoon.

Actually got out on the bike today at Gulf Shores National Seashore in Navarre, Florida, with intense winds gusting to about 30 mph.  We bagged going to Asheville in the rain and sleet on Tuesday and opted to get down to the 'tropics' as quickly as possible, but it's not really that warm here!  Rain forecast for the next two days...

Bluetail...not sure where you are now, but if you get the chance, don't miss spending time on Sanibel Island....OMG....world renowned for "shell seekers"!!!!!!! And also a great place to ride a bike!

5km run outside today...dedicated every step for those who find themselves on this journey.....for the times they can't do it on their own.

Pat, I forgot to say that I am sorry about your friend. I know so many friends and aquantiences who have been diagnosed too. A number of teacher friends, which makes me think of our old asbestos filled schools & whether or not that has anything to do with it. And a number of people I know in my section of town have been diagnosed with cancer, which makes me think of the underground aquifer that flows beneath our houses...... scary.

nihahi, the video would be funnier if it weren't TRUE! We are scheduled for the 'wintery mix' with Dulci......joining in the lamentations!!!

This morning I did Core and More and Pilates. This afternoon I went to the very, very sad funeral of my neighbor.

Have been trying to keep up with everyone's posts, but at least have kept up with most of the planned exercise.  Off for a 5k run in a few, now that the sun is out.  I did want to share a culinary discovery.  Simple, delish and doesn't cost the earth to make:

This would work best with ones that have nice dark meat.  I had a package of 3 in the freezer.

Chicken Legs with Sherry and Rosemary

    Package of chicken legs, make
    enough for leftovers

    Shallots

    Sherry (Amontillado, not cooking sherry)

    Balsamic vinegar

    Fresh rosemary

    Oven 350

    Method:

Find a casserole or Dutch oven large enough to hold the
chicken in one layer.  Chop up a few
shallots and place on bottom.  Dump in
chicken, top side up.  Pour half a cup of
amontillado sherry over, and add a generous splash of balsamic vinegar.  Toss rosemary needles over and cover
casserole with lid.  Bake about 2 hours,
finishing with the broiler to crisp/brown skin.
Check once or twice to make sure it’s not 1) burning or 2) drowning in
its own liquid.  If the first, add water,
and if the second, remove the lid of the casserole.

    Snow...then mix...then rain...then snow. Blah!!!

    20 minutes of hooping.

    And two cookies.

    ThumbsDown

ruth...so sorry for the sad day.

claire....thanks for sharing that recipe...sounds delish.

screw spring.....I just made plans to go skiing tomorrow!

fyi....while out running today, I saw a dozen male robins hanging out in a tree, or more accurately.....clinging to the branches while being snowed on. They seemed to be discussing who's bright idea it was to come North!

Nihahi: the you-tube you posted was funny! I laughed out loud about the personal hygiene.

Pat: Sorry about your friend's dx. Glad she has you.

    Ruth: That is indeed scary.

Badger: I know your mom is so thankful for you.

Walked/jogged at the park this evening. Cool and breezy.

Ruth, hate hate hate the sad days..... sending hugs...

Badger, sounds like your mom is setting in nicely which will ease your mind. You are a wonderful daughter.

As Natsfan said, it has been cold and crappy here. Gonna finally be in the 60's for the next two days just in time for the installation of our new windows. Unfortunately, it is also going to be raining.. Devil

Completed an hour of circuit training tonight at my Soldier Fit class.

Thank you Badger, I LOVE Pink, I sure wish I could twirl like that but I get dizzy Loopy Ruth such a sad day. Pat I'm sorry to hear about your friends diagnosis.

Well no exercise for me today but did do Sh'bam yesterday. I decided that I'll be working out so much in the next few days I should have break. Heading off to Las Vegas in the morning but at the moment I'm doing a Ruth I'm trying to decide what to pack, I know I need plenty of workout gear but what about my party outfitsHappy

Badger thanks for the links, you got me to finally listen to Happy which I'd heard of but not actually heard.  I am really out of the loop on pop music.

Walked about 1.5 miles today, a little bit of weights and a little bit of hooping.  I'm fighting a shoulder injury.  Now dealing with the shoulder in addition to acid reflux, a tooth with painful exposed root, recurring bacterial infection in the lady parts, plus my usual assortment of joint pains and hot flashes.  Really annoyed to have all these things breaking down at once.

    Ann,

For the recurring bacterial...try a product called Rephresh.

It's awful when it all hits at once!!!! Sad

Badger - like that Happy song - and it's a nice 160 beats per minute, so it's a good running song. I'm going to add it to my running mixes. I also am so out of it when it comes to current music.  I love watching The Voice, but it reinforces to me how out of it I am cuz I don't know half the songs they're doing.  Ann - you really are getting hit!

This week's issue of Sports Illustrated was their baseball preview issue, and they picked my beloved Nationals to win the World Series this season - hope that doesn't jinx us like it did last season!  Shocked

Balance ball/core workout this morning - haven't done that one for a while so I know I'm gonna feel it later.

Today's exercise will probably consist of Riding in the Car in the Rain and yes, NatsFan, it is good to be away from PIT!

ann, I don't use the supplement form. There is a gel to insert.

My surgical antibiotics really messed me up and this has helped MUCH more than what my gyn repeatedly prescribed.

I am still at work doing a mammoth print job, but got out to do a 1.6 mile power walk earlier.  Plus crunches early in the day.  I may bag the weights, and have done lots of extra stretching picking folded copies of the catch tray. - Claire
