Sweet thanks for the report on your foot.  I might try adding stretches myself.  My feet were a mess when I was hiking every day and wearing minimalist style shoes.  I cut back and changed shoes and my feet improved.  Now, having swapped hiking for hooping, my shoulder is a mess.  I really do not want to curtail the hooping but it's clear I have to.

Missed two days of exercise.  Having stomach issues on top of the shoulder stuff.  Thus not sleeping well due to shoulder pain, can't take advil due to stomach stuff, then fatigued due to not sleeping well.  It's frustrating. I need to do *something* for exercise every day even if I can't do what I want to do.  It almost feels like being back at chemo level functioning.  Just have to lower expectations and keep moving.

Still - congrats on finishing rads and cute shirt!  Ruth - Go Twins!!  I think you have our old catcher, Kurt Suzuki - nice guy - energetic and upbeat.  Ann - sorry you're having such an energy crash.  I'd have those periodically while I was on femara - like you say, I learned to lower expectations and keep going, even if it was less than I wanted to do for a few days or a week.

Woohoo - it's Opening Day!  Off for a quick run, then down to DC and Nats Park for a hot dog, a beer, and some Nats BASEBALL!!  The 3-0 Nats, by the way! Happy  We can see DC icons like the Washington Monument from the ballpark, and have a great view of the Capitol right from our seats.  Nothing like it!

Mary, as DH was reading the sports page last night he commented, "I see YOUR Nationals are 3-0." I said, "Why yes they are, and I already knew that." Happy

OK, so I've been doing my plantar fasciitis calf stretches regulary since Wednesday, taking 600-800mb of ibuprofen twice a day (dr said to), wearing my running shoes with orthotics at home and wore them to work today because it's casual Friday.  It was raining quite steadily at lunch time so I jogged out to my car and it didn't feel too bad.  Earlier this week I wouldn't have been able to do that.  I'll keep it up and am hopeful this will clear up before too long.

Sounds like progress, Sweet....progress always is such a spirit lifter, isn't it..Nerdy

5km run, outside....doing significantly more run than walk now. AND.....the bonus of the day, was only needing a light running jacket, no mittens, no touque, no grips on shoes!! WOOHOO!!!!! The EXTRA SPECIAL bonus, was spotting 4 eagles riding the thermals while I ran. Spring IS here!

My Core teacher also teaches Insanity Friday mornings & convinced some of us to try it out today. It's only half an hour, and she shows low impact options for all the moves, so it was not only doable but actually fun.....which its title does not suggest!

Stillrunning - 5 miles on the last day of rads!  I managed 3 minutes on the exercise bike a week after rads. You are amazing.

I told you ladies you set the bar high.

Nihahi - I had no idea what a "toque" was so Googled it.  Amongst a gazzillion pictures I saw this one:

    image

I don't know why but it gave me the giggles.  At least now I know what a toque is!

Sweetandspecial - ibuprofen helped my sore booby - hope it helps your foot too.  Its great you are doing the stretches.

Tuesday I did an hour of yoga.  It seemed to be about 15 minutes of using muscles I haven't used for a long time with 45 minutes of breathing and relaxing.  I can do the relaxing part very well.

My booby was a bit sore the next day - as was my neck (I have no neck muscles).

I am wearing my tight tank top under my clothes rather than a bra and that helps my boob more than anything else.  I am trying to find a shop that sells a proper bra for preventing lymphedema in the breast.

Anyway I didn't have time to exercise on Wednesday or Thursday so today I rode 45 minutes - 16km.  (The most I have done before is 10km in 30 minutes.)

Ruth  there is always a low option for every move, they don't even need to show me any more as I have them all figured outLoopy Sweet glad you are getting some relief. Yay for Mary it's her favorite day of the year 'Opening Day'. No formal exercise for me today except for hauling mail and now I'm off to Costco to walk the aisles but I just wanted to come here and say Happy Birthday to _Ann_ ThumbsUp

Happy Birthday Ann!  Sounds like you had a proper celebration!

We had a great time yesterday at Opening Day.  It's always so much fun and I love the pageantry.  (We'll just ignore the fact that the Nats lost the game. ) It was great to be back at the ballpark again.  The opening ceremonies featured a lot of the heros and first responders from the Navy Yard shooting, which occurred just a few blocks from Nats Park.  We had Navy bands, the Navy Sea Chanters did the National Anthem, and Navy personnel from the Navy Yard unfurled a giant flag during the anthem singing.  Bonus points - I got lots of exercise just walking around.  Here's a picture of the giant flag being unfurled.

Errands, Chores, & Sculpt on the calendar today, plus a minor league game tonight.

    Happy Birthday Ann!

NatsFan - every time you post it makes me think of my DD because she's in Maryland too.  It's a good thing - brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart.

LB - England/Scotland is on my bucket list of places to visit.  'Knowing' you has got to be as good a reason as any for an excuse some day, right?

Finally got my Fitbit hooked up and operational.  Am having some trouble with syncing - I've had to uninstall and reinstall the software twice but I have a ticket opened with them to ask about it.  The good news is that I decided to give my feet a little try today and just got back from a short walk (well, short for me).  It was probably right around 1.75 miles or so, fitbit is showing I'm at 5381 steps today.  Heels are a little tingly, maybe just a tiny bit of a dull ache, but that's not unusual after a walk or run for me even without plantar fasciitis.  I did do a very slow jog for about 50 yards to see if I could do it without pain and limping and just to see how it felt.  I haven't run for over a month so it felt good just to do it!  Plus it's gorgeous today!  A little chilly still (low 30s) but not a cloud in the sky.  Part of my route was a local bike trail through a woodsy area  in my neighborhood so there were still a few slick spots there but all in all, I'm so happy to have been out there!  We'll see how the feet feel as the day progresses......

    Have a great weekend everyone!

hi all, sorry been MIA.  Just got caught up.  Keep up the good work!

Had drinks & dinner with mom last night at her new place and it was good.  The last of her furniture just arrived so it's much cozier now.

Early to bed yesterday and early to rise today.  Was up with the birds this morning and got in a 3.1 mile walk at dawn.  Watching basketball tonight.  Go Badgers! ♥

    p.s. Happy (belated) Birthday Ann!

No exercise for me today, but I did spend 2 1/2 hours on my feet today doing something really neat:

I don't know if you have ever heard of a program called 'Kids Against Hunger'. But it is a nationwide program where local service groups, church groups, individuals, can donate money to purchase supplies and volunteers to pack these supplies into meals for hungry families throughout the world. So today, 399 other volunteers and I assembled 180,000 packets (a scoop of fortified soy powder, a scoop of dried vegetables, a cup of barley & a cup of rice....when water is added, this will become a nutritious casserole that will feed 12 people), half of which will be distributed to regional food pantries & half to hungry children in other parts of the world. You work in an assembly line and being the over-achievers that we are, my group made 11 packets a minute (132 servings of food a minute....pretty cool!).

*PS, no pictures because I don't look good in a hair net!
