  • Sas, hopefully you won't need anyone to deal with your septic in the next 3 months when the effluent will finally drop to safe levels. You've really thought of everything!  I saw this online:

At a 1 percent uptake, she will excrete 8.25 GBq into the septic system.
The Environmental Protection Agency says the average U.S. household
water use is about 400 gallons per day (1.51 x 106 millliters
per day). Iodine-131, with a half life of eight days will lose about
8.3 percent of its activity each day. The current Nuclear Regulatory
Commission (NRC) concentration limit for unrestricted effluent
concentrations in water is 1 x 10-6 microcuries (0.037 Bq)
per milliliter. If you take into account the daily dilution and decay
factors, it will take 87 days to get concentrations below the NRC limits
    for unrestricted access.

2nd LOL The second part of the question was this goes into the common sewer system? AND?

Love the cat, too funny. Love all the pics.

See there's three types of radiation in this PILL alpha(paper stops it) beta( thicker shielding), Then the GAMMA---(lead sheilding) That's the buggar>>>>>>>new learning.

Teka WOW FUZZY and Warm is so funny. GO Teka YAY

Tang hope it gets better honey, anything we can DO? I was so wound up in toilet paper I almost missed your post.

FBB, Cool that kind of jives b/c They gave me a paper that says I'm RO till 7/25. Poor little bacteria. All they want to do is their job and now they are going to be mutants. 87 days of exposure to GAMMA RAYS. I wonder if the NRC monitors the central sewage plants for radiation? Unsuspecting workers getting zapped?

FBB the protocol on kids is OUTRAGEOUSly neglectful the range of no contact is 2- 23.  Everything in the protocols on kids varies. But pretty consistent on pregnancy and breastfeeding. BUT the controversy about what it does to the ovaries is not good. Same with Testes.

Chevy that avatar was the closest thing in my avatar file. I filled that file all on one day, and now can't figure out what I did, but someday I'll re-figure it out.

LMG just read your post with ya all the way. Regretfully, the stuff goes too a community landfill. Unless you have a better suggestion. It's double bagged? Ya know I looked at WOLK and said "ya know that doesn't look right"?, but couldn't figure out what was wrong with it LOLOLOLO

    It'll make Ziiggypop laugh :)

LMG there has been research on sewer effluent. and rules written. Started I think when the frogs were showing up with two heads and three legs. Plus, think about all the hormones too. It's part of why cities can't dump water into areas that it re-enters the main water systems. Big controversy here near the Space Center when one community wasn't complying with the new regulations. BIG fines.

I'll let you know what happens to the grass over the septic field. ErMA Bombeck would probably be worried.

Sassy - community landfill where it's buried. Sounds as safe as it could be under the circumstances. Very limited contact with sanitation workers and bet as often as they dump their loads more limited than we might think.

Yes central sewage plants near major cancer centers might be worse like those near Moffitt. Do you think FL is worse (mean worse on radiation output etc) because of the aged population? Yes, I know about sewer stuff some. Disposal of drugs by hospice nurses is a pain in the patootie. Mushed it into depends, liquified it and put in depends, poured bleach on it and disposed of it. Worst thing was a house in the country with no trash disposal and I needed to get rid of bunches of stuff (with a continuous care nurse present thank goodness). I don't know what they did usually I think burned it but can't burn trash now and we have freq. burn bans.

Makes you wonder how septics work on 1 acre lots lined up in rows. Watch those frogs. You may get some strange ones raised over the lines. Yes I remember her book - The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank (well at least the lateral lines).

You know I love my Eagle Cams. This is from this morning from Decorah IA where it has rained I think since yesterday. There are 3 babies on this nest hatched from 4/2 to 4/7.

LMG I remember the night poor DH passed. DS just loosing his Dad had to help the nurse. The nurse couldn't leave till the disposal routine was complete. You gals had it rough under those circumstances. i.e.you and just a spouse. I would have done it if DS wasn't here , but it would not have been easy. HUGS

All right ladies- hope you have your throwback Thursday photos ready!

This one is of my grandparents, my cousin, sister, and myself there on the right. (1976/7?)

Notice my sister and I have matching outfits- pretty sure my mom was wearing something made of that fabric as well. Most likely purchased in the sale bin at Woolco's or TG&Y..  We match the wrapping paper as well :)

Remind s me of the story the Docent told at the Space Center. He watched two eagle parents try to fledge an eaglet over three days. Each night the eaglet came back. The fourth day the eagles tore down the nest. :)

DD said (a long time ago think she's forgotten) that she was going to scan in all my pictures. HaHa. But she did manage to scan in something she wanted not too long ago.

What I would love to scan in is my mother's old portraits. I can put DD's childhood negatives in safety deposit box; they are actually in protective sleeves. But those old pics of my mom/dad I can't replace. My DB has a few, different from mine. I would be afraid to unframe them as DM was an artist/antique monger who has them securely framed with paper backing. Certainly not up to paper archive standards though but who the heck is.

JWow - I love the butterfly sleeves. And you are right you and your sister blend. Park you in front of that tree and you both might go unnoticed.

OK Sassy I did. I do have it on favorites but just never read it.

Oh Jwow I love it---u and u'r matching sister it doe look like the wrapping paper and u'r grandparents, what a treasure to have that pic. I don't know how to scan pics at all--my DD does for FB but I can't get them here??? I know Chevy knows how so I hope she reads this and grabs a pic and follows, I'm sure most of u do--I love pics whatever yr they are--it like sharing u'r life and I really like that.

OK things are turning As this World Turns I see Chevy is either understand Sas Shocked or she's pretending to Loopy cuz she actually had a conversation that I didn't understand, well I did about the guy breaking both hips. Holy Crap what luck that guy has.

Sas I think u amaze all of us with u'r (can't think of the word I want) but u all know what I mean. I very rarely look things up only simple things like something with blood counts and still can't really understand--it always seems like 42 people put their thoughts together and it's all crumbled up into a couple of paragraphs. Well that how I understand it anyway.

Luv don't u enjoy u'r pics.? But doesn't it seems like a lifetime ago or a different life-it just al travels so fast.

I just thought this was cute!

SASS!  Good Lord girl!  I can't understand HALF of what you say, and when it is abbreviated, I am completely lost!    I know you know what you are talking about, but it is usually over my head...!  So NO Cammi, that's a resounding NO!  I don't understand so well either...Ha!    Neither would Lilshit....so we are okay....

Guess what?  I tried wearing my Clog Crocs, and I can walk without hardly limping at all!  I am so amazed!  My "lifts" just came in the mail, so I'll try them in my flatter shoes!  But I think the higher heel makes it so there is not as much strain on my hip!!!  I am toooooo happy!      And the lifts might help, also!

I was wearing a pair of the clogs, when I twisted my ankle on a rock.... but I just have to watch where I am walking!  That damn Vinnie takes me on those long walks in the moon-light, and it is just hard to see where I'm GOing!    Not that he will ever check IN here, within the next month!

Now we just have to fix YOU ms Sass!    I have no idea what to Google..... either!  Your problems are over my head....  But you seem to be handling everything okay!

JWow!  I LOVE that picture!  I just have to go upstairs, and scan some more old pictures!  I'll find one of me in my dancing costumes!  Ha, ha!

That pic of yours so true--Is that u resting after u'r dance class?

Well thank you very much Chevy we both don't have a clue about Sas--but as long as she knows that's all that counts. And she really knows. Wow all the reading, Sas aren't u'r eyes so tired when u'r on so long.? I can only last a while then I have to stop. Chevy knows what I mean, well her eyes are older than mine. oops did I give u the wrong idea, I meant she's been around longer and by around I mean it literally--all over the place, and this hip thing didn't slow her up to much--she still had her nite haunts--when her DH is sleeping oops aain, I always slip up with this subject. Oh well I don't think I said anything everyone and I do mean everyone didn't already know.

Oh Cammi!  Just put a sock in it!  Ha, ha!    Yes.... I really DO have to get my eyes checked!  I do it about every 5 years....  I hardly even have to wear reading glasses...   But I just think my eyes look cloudy from the inside sometimes....

Well YOU should talk, about being all over the place!  I remember you with Billy Bodandistal, and how you and him used to make out in the alley in back of the shed!   I know, I know I PROMISED I wouldn't tell.... but I just did!     And when you and my Brother would ditch school and go smoke in the bowling alley?    Okay, I won't tell any more..... this time....Loopy

Nettie right now everything is going around, I know it's difficult but try to rest but not sleep til later if u can and drink water plenty of it.

Thanks big mouth Chevy those were a couple of my secrets, but u'r brother told me a lot about u, I mean EVERYTHING, after all we weren't just smoking regular cigarettes that's why we always ate potatoe chips together.-So I wouldn't flap that mouth of your's so easily, hehehe

  • Jwoo, that was a great photo. Thanks for sharing. Brings back many of my own happy memories with homemade clothes, crocheted pillows and afghans and grandparents.

At our house my parents didn't like to spend money (or couldn't) on wrapping paper. Our presents were left under the tree by Santa unwrapped. Each kid had their own "section". One time when I was about 7 and my sister 4, I woke up first and went downstairs and took some of her presents and put them in my section. When we all came downstairs in the morning, wonder of wonders, I had the most presents. My parents started moving them back to my sisters side and I complained. How did they know which presents Santa left for who?!

I am going straight to hell.

So far I'm surviving the move, so is MIL. Waiting for the chit to fly by this weekend and she'll change her mind. Hope not. She met someone who knows her when I took her down to dinner. She seems happy, it will just take a couple of weeks for her to get her feet under her. Since she still plays the piano they want her to perform for others. She loves being the center of attention. We got everything that's moving, into the apartment.  Now the fun part of cLeaning out her mobile home and getting rid of some things left behind. 2 more days for me to help then I have to get busy on the last brides maid dress.

SAS, learning lots and hope to never know what it's like. Really the pits that the doc missed it before. So, are you glowing or peeing a different color??

Oh, I lost 5 pounds as of yesterday, did I tell you that already?  Not bad for only 4 full days on this stuff. If I keep at that rate I could lose 20 pounds in a month!

Sounds like you guys are doing good. Everybody finally get spring? It's been really nice this week, low to mid 70s all week.

Blondie- how are you feeling on your new treatment?

2nd time- I am sure you will see some grandkids.

I am jealous of all of you. Never had human kids, and did not really want them, but would LOVE to have grandbabies! I will just have to spoil my nephew and niece's kids, worse than I did them.

Not sure how old your Mom is, but if she was born around the Great Depression at all, those folks have a hard time not using everything they have till it is dust. Can't blame them, they had very little. Unfortunately in our family, we are all packrats because of it! I just try to not buy anything now.

Cam-no deciding you've got S4mets. I've decided you have none of that and will be fine. You just need more cheese in your diet.

I refuse to allow any more anything in any of us!

(I am a NYMets fan though. Always have been.)

Hope your taxes are not too painful. They sure make it painful for the little people.

Hope your lunch with your GFs and family was great!

Chevy- I hope you are not hurting any more and your hip is better.

Glad you are not eating those pretty hens of yours!

Your story about your Gma was sad and sweet. You were so awesome for her!

    how was the casino?

Good for you for putting your FIL in his place. I've always been very outspoken with family, anyones family :) Every BF I've had, and my exhusband, all the family were usually always nice, and if anyone was ever rude, well I tend to get competitive with that. I always win the "who can be a bigger ahole" game if someone else starts it :) I encourage that behavior in others!

Holein1- how are you?I am glad your mom vetoed that middle name! you would have been scared for life!

So lucky that you get to go see Wicked! loved the book. Oh- and Book Of Mormon - one of these days I will get to see it. Looks awesome!

Nettie- I hope your illness passes fast and you can get back to getting back to things. How was dinner with your cousin?

Dear FBB- that surgery story- so funny! I think they tuck you in so that you are shoulders back and even. I hope looks great and you are feeling stronger every day! Don't get too worked up about your bills. There should be a social worker at the hospital or with your local BC center that can help you reduce them and maybe even get rid of a few. Just focus on feeling better and getting stronger!

    Hilarious story about Santa!

Smaartypants- Just remember to keep taking a deep focusing breath every hour or so. Close your eyes, be still, and remember you are being amazing. I admire your compassion, and hope I can be as sweet to anyone that needs that much of my help in the future.

I am using my diagnosis anniversary and my date after surgery when i got the word on clear margins. My one year diagnosis is coming up and I am actually doing a Relay for Life with my family and friends and family in my home town that night. I am excited and a little scared. I don't wanna be a ball of tears all night, but probably will be :)

LOVE the photo of you and your fam- your moms dress is fantastic! and how cute were you?!

    congrats on your 5lbs!

Tang- let us know what you need! We are here for you! <hugs>

Spookiesmom- Good thing you got your FIL off the road! eeek!

AAND SAS! my goodness! you are all over the boards! must be getting antsy being cooped up? Can't blame you at all. Hope your glow is killing anything that might be there.

I'm no artist, just like playing with the controls in iPhoto (photo editing application)

As far as scanning goes, it all depends on what kind of scanner you have. If anyone is looking for just a scanner- I can recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-CanoScan-4507B002-LiDE110-Scanner/dp/B003VQR1UC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398407288&sr=8-1&keywords=cannon+scanner

cheap, easy as pie to set up and use, good imaging, lightweight, one cord, stores away easy. Very happy with it. You need that, a computer, and an external hard drive to store it all on. I try to keep things as simple as possible.

Keep yourself hydrated! and just do the best you can with the info you have. You can always ask more questions later, and don't second guess yourself. I feel that every country treats everything so differently, there will never be an agreement.

Regular bidet is okay- but the Brondell has water flow adjustment, seat heat adj, water temp adj, water spray width adj. a drying fan. Seriously ridiculous seat, but something that I think everyone should have!

YAY for no pain in your neck! I hope it stays that way!

You are such a wealth of information.

Ziggaroo- How is that finger of yours?

Glad your mom was happy in her dementia and that she has you to be with her. The water thing- that is pretty common! I volunteer with hospice and a lot of my patients with dem or Al. tend to do that. I wonder what it is that triggers that need.

Vinnie- we've missed you! Hope you and the lovely wife had a great time! Rest, and don't worry about us :)

Alyson- great owl pic for Sas! How have you been?

Luvmygoats- good questions about the sewer/septic systems. I wonder if anyone has done a study on that yet. Love the eagle cams!

Teka- beautiful crocuses! What else is happening in your world?

I am fighting this truncal LE that keeps flaring. It is really starting to piss me off.  Just working with my PT to get it under control, then we started a slow workout and BAM! I blew up like a balloon. I am gonna beat this if it takes everything i've got. grrrr! Going to start a serious diet this weekend. I've got to get this weight off, and if my body won't let me sweat it off, then it gets nothing but veggies from now on. I am sure I will be a grumpy cuss, but that is just how it will be :)

love you ladies- thanks for making my days more bearable. <3<3<3

OMG Jwow u got everybody--do u double screen what ever that is--I can only go as far as I can remember and that's not much and I always wish I could respond to everyone but after I don't remember a lot. I really like this group I just can't keep up. That's so sweet Jwow and u volunteer too. I don't think I knew that how wonderful.

Oh and Jwow I'm not worried at all, they always find something insane wrong but no cancer--so I just think it's something insane again. I'm fine. I just don't like the pain, I get tired from it, silly I know but it tires me out.

And Sas every day u get closer to being with peeps right--this is so strange how they treat this. U know when my brother told me this I honestly thought he was kidding, it's so bizzare, but if it does the job who's to question it.

Have I told u gals lately, u are a great bunch of women and man and I enjoy all of u pics and stories so much, even when they start with remember when those are so much fun. Cuz I do remember when.
