ok...Funny thing happened at the docs today...I am here on Wednesdays for the past 2 yrs...and forever at this point. So I figure...under the circumstances...all is well. I didn't know that when they asked how I was ...and I would say great .....that they recorded that. Ok so,I'm stupid.   I really mean " under the circumstances" I am great .  I was confused cause my doc didn't want to give me pain killers with refills. He was confused why I was asking for them.    We'll, we got it all cleared up and I have refills for life. Who,knew they were REALLY listening...lol

Hope everyone is having a great day

4444444 so we are  Bit premature...we try soooooo hard. Good luck next week cause I will prob forget now...lol

I'm just sitting here reading through trying to absorb everything!  One thing I can say for this thread, it sure moves along, unlike some others that I follow, sometimes they go days without anyone posting!  But not here, you got to be on top of things to keep up here!!

I saw the chiro yesterday, seems to just now be giving me some relief!  Get to see the massage therapist tomorrow, hopefully, between the two, I'll be good to go for the weekend!

Wishing everyone a happy hump day!

Ok, one more thing - can someone tell me how to write something that will go under my comments that is not about my dx!  I see a lot of ladies do this, but I can't figure out how!

Hi Nettie click on your name, go to your home profile page.  Down to signature,  type something in and I think hit save. It's right above the diagnosis entries

Love that you are getting results with chiro and massage. Everyone has there opinion on chiro's. I think they are great, as long as they stay in there field area. It's just like any field there's good and bad. The good ---are worth there weight in gold. :) Massage hmmmmmmmm.

Holeinone - A pair of sisters, around 10, 12 started screaming, you are killing the butterflies! It was sad, but memorable.

OMG! I am imagining the same scenario tonight!

Yep - memorable - that's a nice way of putting it!!!! ThumbsUp

  • During chemo I took Maitake mushroom capsules and Turkey Tail mushroom capsules from Paul Stammet's Fungi Perfecti and never had any problems with my blood counts. Even my oncologist was amazed. But with that said,  one of my doctors now says maybe it sent my cancer cells into hiding. Shocked

But I was so happy I never had to have those frickin' Neulasta shots and actually felt pretty good through chemo and kept working.

fb..glad to hear your doing well. My doc told me to keep doing whatever I am doing cause considering what they are doing to me I am feeling good...I didn't tell him it is called occasional proseco...lol

FBB, I did a mushroom blend and still do.  Especially Chaga.  I made a deal with my onc not to do any supplements 3 days before, the day of, and 3 days after chemo.  So basically I did them for 2 weeks then off for a week.  I also do wheat grass pills and chloraphyl something drops and I would have to look in my big basket to see what else there is!!  I was just at the health store today getting arnica for my upcoming surgery!

Don't let your docs make you feel like you did anything wrong to cause any of this.  You could turn it and tell them they didn't run that fancy test to see what chemo they should have used.  It is all such a crap shoot and you are doing everything you can to kick this crap to the curb.

  • Thanks. It was a big guilt dump that day.  The doctor who told me that is a specialist, who probably means well but these doctors don't know anything yet. And what works or doesn't work for one person might be different for the next.

I too have a big ol' basket of vitamins and supplements!  It makes me feel proactive in my health and those days when I'm waiting for results or between doctor visits I at least feel like I['m doing something that may be helping. At one point I was so upset and told my regular oncologist, I guess I should have been eating ding dongs and bon bons instead of kale smoothies and supplements!

holeinone, that's great news about your port!

    $4444right with you

FBB , next time someone hands you crap like that give it right back to them. With him you still can. I'd think, we'd all be right on your shoulders waving our fingers at him.

He was cruel, probably did it with a f*cking slight smile on his face with his head cocked. I read your post and almost jumped through the screen

Add to what 4 said--memorize "2d6, 2c9, 2c19, 3a4, 3a5  and add "If you had a clue about my genetics maybe the drugs would of worked and we wouldn't be having this discussion."

Then just ask him why his "best guess" is better than your "best guess'.

I wrote that thing on paintball therapy re: antibiotics and also re: all drugs on 2d6 thread. Reread see if you understand it?

The other day in reading I came across the "best guess" phrase as the old term for perscribing drugs. I thought it odd b/c I've been reading about drugs for 4.4 decades and have never seen the term. It was being used by someone in a historical prespective.

Anyways, take him out at the knees.

FB ..when I had my recurrence 2 1/2 years ago I came in to my onc with ALL kind of ideas. He never looked up from his computer and calmly said....I will take all the help I can get....that is when I realized, their schooling and the place they are At in research is all they got. And doesn't mean they have the answers. I am very happy that my doc can shrug his shoulders and say , I don't know why that works, or why that doesn't.  The only thing he has ever pushed on my is living...he always wants to know what I am doing and what I am planning. I am lucky that I can do lot and I do.

We all are so different in our individuality . At the end of the day, we need to be comfy with OUR decisions

    Keep on keeping on !

Susan, that was so calm  and nice. Then their's me with flags flying all over the place from the clip :) Your doc is a good person. FBB's docs words were blantantly cruel. Only been around a few docs like that. I have no use for them. Their behavior shouldn't be tolerated. It's hard to believe he knew what he was saying, but the few can be so arrogant.

sas...that mad me laugh...I just called my hubby on the way home from chemo..had to run a few errands. And said to him...I think my bitchiness (can I say that) has expanded from only you and our daughter seeing it. I have brought it outside the walls of our house...oh boy . I was a little "attitude-ish"  out in Public....lol

The suppressed me is leaking out...take cover !! Lol

Holy Chit I missed so much==I hate that---

    4 Funny pics.

FBB do whatever it is that makes u feel better.

Susan I did have to laugh at one of u'r posts, cuz I did the same thing for over 1 yr. I just kept on saying fine, until my sister told me NO they are asking for real. then I got pain stuf hahaha

Oh 4 what u'r son said is hysterical, u have to laff at a kid like that. To funny.

And whoever said about Docs not knowing everything, actually I really respect the ones  that are ???? and they look things up right in front of u--there is just to much info for anyone to think they know everything cuz everything changes every week plus no one knows why these things happen to some and not others and it all very confusing. All I ever say is There are no rules, which takes it all in.

I wish everyone no pain or fear always---

OK- finally have some time to read through the last week! You hens sure cluck a lot! :)

Everyone is posting some awesome and cute images! I love it!

Susan, thank you for your encouraging words. I hope that you find something that works to kick cancer to the curb. The world needs more people like you in it. Your patio is lovely! and I love the snake. really pretty. Hope your hubs is feeling better.

2nd- ooh- you give me hope that my hair will stay curly! and if you ever want to git rid of any more patterns- you just let me know :) It is good being on the far side of this one. This year is much better. Sorry your DH is being a dh. Big hugs to you.

Chevy- My av is my head- i am leaning forward. I have an amazing friend that does henna professionally, and this was the first one she did on me during my chemo. here are photos of all the ones she did on my head:

Cherry Creek is soooo nice. Sounds like you had a good time. Love the story about your DD and the geese! So glad your hip is getting better. Your brother sounds like a good man, sometimes you just can't help your kids if they don't want it. So sorry you lost your niece too. Great to hear "Jake" found his way.

Cam- mmm peaches. that sounds yummy. I wish there was something we could do to make you feel better. I hope ou enjoy getting your nails done. I loooove Philosophy products. They smell so good and leave you feeling pampered!

Teka- That cookie cup rules! I hope you are feeling better.

Ziggy- Thanks for the reassurance. I think we all get PTSD with this, and it is just hard to work around. I share your flower obsession. Sounds like your mom was a smart lady. Very sorry to hear about your GS losing his baby. I know that has to be devastating. You seem pretty wise yourself.

FBB- Mosquitoes are huge here too. Ugh- I wish there was a way to get rid of them. They are such a pain. YAY! you are finally getting your floor taken care of. Can't wait to see it! and so awesome you got a cleaning crew. It is so hard to get things done with you just don't feel up to it. re: your son, jsut keep loving him. I was a terrible student, rebellious, angry, etc. but grew out of it. I never went to college, worked my tail off, ended up finding a vocation I love (that i volunteer with,) and a job that is decent. He may find his way. Therapy is an option, eventually he may talk. A summer job may be just the thing he needs. Sorry your tests did not come back great. Know that we are always in your pocket.

Nettie- Get that cough checked out ASAP. Probably just allergies, but no reason to ignore it. I rinse my nose out if i go out and have allergy issues. helps so much. Good to hear your chiro and massage is helping you.

Sas- "Yeast is a bad neighbor." - this had me chuckling. Hope your vertigo is better. MMMm amaretto. I love the stuff. I seem to have missed the chair drama- what happened?

Holein1- too true- the future for everyone is uncertain. I too feel like a phony, but sometimes I just don't want to talk about it with ppl that don't or cannot understand. And- a fashion show! I am sure you knocked their socks off! Low WBC isn't always a bad thing.

Phyliedillie- glad they let you outta the looniebin. Thanks for the support.

Wren- your son sounds fun! Did he get the adventurous bug from you? That woman in green- that is so me. :)

Smaarty- congrats on your continued weight loss! How did your bra making go? Your mom and sister are so pretty, but I don't think you can beat crowds on holiday weekends :)

Dutch, I am a cashew lover as well. I HAVE to put a serving in a cup and close the container, otherwise I eat the whole thing. Love that duck photo. She seems quite happy.

Blondie, how are you doing? Good to hear you had a good time at the RFTC even though you were in a chair. Better to let someone push than push yourself too hard.

    Spookiesmom- depresso- i love it!

4- sending good juju your way for your surgery. Your mom sounds awfully pouty. how is your ankle, neck, and arm? Sounds like you got some of my luck :) 96 aprons!? that is a lot of sewing! I don't envy you battling teenagers. I know I was a shit to my parents. I apologize every time I see them, because they continued to care and love me even though I was horrid. I wish you luck!

Blessings, omg- those sweatshirts with the cookies etc. My gma and mom had a ton for a while. Glad we were able to convince them to get rid of them. I love me some polyester though :) Hope the butterflies survived the release!

MosltyMom, what a beautiful bluebird photo! How are you?

Badger- that kid in your photo is so cute.

PawPrint- how are things? have not seen you here in a bit.

Tang- How did you weather the storms? We got 4.25 inches the other night. It was fantastic! Good to hear that DIEP might be an option for you. So sorry that you are hurting so bad. Don't feel bad about feeling bad on Mother's Day. It is your day, and you should be resting. No need to apologize for stating how you feel. We are here for you!

Chabba, hoping you got some help and answers about your pain.

I am doing a little better. I had a great time at RelayForLife- it started with a gorgeous sunset. I cried my eyes out most of the night, and thought about all my BCO sisters while i walked the track. <3 Love you gals so much. Here is that sunset:

Then had a great mothers day with a dear friends family, and then met my family for dinner. My dad's surgery went well, he went home an hour after and the surgeon said it was much less than he thought would be there. (whew!) I tell you what, I wish they would move closer, i worry about them all the time.

My LE is a real pain, but I am working through it.I got worked over and wrapped today, and will be getting a pump soon. Not really looking forward to lugging that around England in the fall, but, better than swelling like a balloon!

I am a little concerned about Possible Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) as the tiny petechia i have is multiplying, and i am starting to bruise easily. That with this tiny cough I have and my fatigue- it is just weighing on me. I have an appt scheduled to see my ONC at the beginning of July, but may move it up.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Love the head artwork, what a great idea.

Made my 3rd bra, last attempt, haven't tried it on yet, had to go to weight class. If it fits, I'll post a pic, if not, oh well. I'll wait until July when I see the bra lady and she can help me with a new pattern.

Hope people are doing better.  Sorry to hear so many with issues.

ohh Blondie- have a great time! I would think that you could get them to give you a copy of your scan on a disc in a format you can read. It might cost you as most hospitals charge for things like that (even though you already pay for the damn things when you get them done.)  I hope they can get you breathing better. Could you be allergic to something in the chemo? I know I was allergic to the preservatives in the taxol. No fun!  <<<hugs>>>

I totally cheat when I am posting- I open a blank email, document or postienote on my computer first, then go through each page and make notes. Otherwise I would miss everything on here! Tamoxifen fog, chemo brain, and ladies that gab like we do? No way I could remember most of it if I didn't!

Susan- yay for learning how to post photos!2nd taught you real good!

Smaarty- hope the bra fit. Awesome that you have a bra maker that can help you with patterns.

Anyone else having an issue getting http://www.stepup-speakout.org open? I have been trying all day without any luck.

Geez, looking back on it now, it really WAS a struggle trying to raise our girls!  And I wasn't even SICK!  (shut up cammi!)

I mean we had no extra money, and had to try and deal with these little kids as they grew up, wondering WHO they were with and WHY, and "what is that beer doing in the back of the car?"  Or what is this glass thing that fell out of your purse, and all that weed stuff...? And who IS this kid that calls you late at night?   And WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH BIRTH CONTROL PILLS???

It's like we try and keep them under our wings, for forEVER!   So we have to grow up with our kids!  And let them fly....

SOME times we want them to fly far away, but then we feel remorseful and we all say we're sorry....Ha!

Sass....  I don't quite completely understand or figure out WHAT CHAIR THING are you talking about?  You and Spookie are for sure talking in some sort of code!

You need chairs?  I have 2 wooden chairs that I am painting....  You want them?

4444444!  I just love your pictures and sayings!

And 2222222  !  I sent that one to my girls also!  I know!  I could NOT figure out what JWow's Avatar was!  Now it makes sense!

You guys, I'm so worried about all the Butterflies!  I didn't know they were saved for weddings.... and their own funerals!    Not worried about slugs though....

Okay Susan...  Next time, try this...

Doc, on a pain level of one to ten with ten being the worst, I would say: #1 why do you ask #2 where is the chart that goes to fifty.

Okay....  Nettie too.... and Blondie... Little BB!

Oh so 444444 is on mushrooms now?  I heard about those maybe 30 years ago!   Actually I DO have some Chaga, AND Sea Kelp, Co-Q10, VitD3...Turmeric, Grape-seed AND Grapefruit Extract, Fish Oil/Omega 3 And Dim-Plus.

I just don't TAKE them!  I used to, and didn't feel any different, so I'm taking a leave of absence from them...  I wonder if I could mix them in my smoothies, with my Nutri-bullet?   Have any of you done that?

It's just hard to swallow them all! Even a few at a time!

Uh oh.... Susan is pretending she is assuming others think she is becoming, um, unruly!    I say GO for it!   Ya just gotta do it sometimes!

    image

Morning Dutchess the Cammiester!   Whatever you said Cammi, I totally agree!  I man about "everything changes"....  Yes!  Correct...

And "I WISH EVRYONE NO PAIN OR FEAR ..... ALWAYS...."  that was beautiful Cammi!

    That should be our motto....

Yes JWow!  I love your head art!   And you are so organized with your post!   And I think so too!  About 4444444's Mom....  She IS kind of pouty, which is a really nice way of saying what we are all thinking!

Anyway I loved reading everything you said!   I don't know what that all is... "Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) as the tiny petechia i have is multiplying"....  What IS all that?

Susan, I USED to wear false eyelashes, AND fingernails, not to mention those hair-pieces...Ha!   AND a Wonder-bra!

(Don't SAY it Lilshit and Cammi!)

So Teka.... I'm going out on a limb here, and pretending I know what you are conjecturing about....  It's probably good though!  image

And Smarty!  YES!  I LOVE that picture!  Unicorns ARE real, you know!

2222222!  That was so funny, about HOLD THE PRESSES!  Ha!  I didn't even notice she HADN'T posted pics.... !image   Susan is coming along... so they say!

    image

Next, we will see her doing THIS!

JWow!  I can open it, just like you posted it....  It's about Lymphedema!   Maybe if you send me your email, I can send it to you that way?

Okay gals.... Have a good whateveritis day!  xoxoxo

Oh man...I'm so far behind on reading these posts. Got up at 4am because my dog Annie Mae has her surgery today and has to eat before 5am and get her insulin shot. Her appointment is at 10 am, the pre op includes shaving the fur on her face so they can remove both of her eyes. And of course I'm a worried mom, but she's wagging her tail happy for the new day.

Got my blood work results back and in spite of all the expesive prescription iron medication, my iron saturation level has continued to drop. Back to infusions again, ugh. Tired of being tired and anemic.

We have wildfires going on here in Southern California. The air is yucky, weather hot and windy.

Love all the pics everyone is posting, sorry to hear some of you are really struggling with health issues. It's nice we have each other to lean on. Hugs to you all.

    Chevy,

I have seen what kind of shrooms you grow and now you are playing with a bullet?  Isn't that like a cousin to PHylloWithThePocketRocket???
