Oh, trust me, LOSING 7.5 pounds is not the norm for me when on vacay.  I'd much rather have gained 5 pounds and been able to enjoy more food.  It all worked out.  Felt good doing laundry and running errands today - you remember we talked about my inner 'Susie Homemake' persona!

Glad everyone made it home safely!

Glad you guys had a great time. I have a few pounds that I could donate to Sweet Loopy..

One of these days, I want to go white water rafting. Looks like tons of fun. Sadly, I have only been tubing so far. That was still a great time.

    Exercise tonight was bootcamp.

Lisa I found your 7.5lbs SillyHeart I too am glad you stuck it out, nothing worse that not feeling great on vacation but you were a trooper, glad your doc listened to you and more to the point don't sleep eat all your donuts Happy Patoo sorry you had a delay, I had one too but I was home by 5pm. Okay so you know how I moaned about the cold tea I kept getting served, well at the airport I ordered a cup of tea, when the girl handed it to me it slipped from her hand and spilled, I have a 3rd degree burn on my arm, stupid girl said 'are you okay' dahhhh no I'm not, it hurt like heck, and when I asked for ice she gave it to me in a rubber glove, oh the joys of travel.  Pat wonderful photos, that scares the heck out of me and yes Joy it was lovely to hear from you, hope your move goes smoothly, it will be nice to be surrounded by your family.

Did Sh'bam class this morning but I could barely move, oh my poor knees, then tonight Body Combat with the wonderful Eduardo and then went in and took a spin class but really I shouldn't count that as I was really just pushing the pedals, so two where I just showed up but one where, well you guys have been to his class there is no fudging when you work out with EduardoLoopy

Edited to add that I now sound like a frog, I have totally lost my voice and I'm just croaking!!!!

Glad to hear you guys are all safe and sound. Pat, that looks so scary!

I was limping around on an injured knee from falling off a mountain bike going downhill so yesterday was a hangout day at the cottage. We did play some table tennis outdoors, which was my upper body workout. Took these pics:

    Great pictures ladies.

Saturday we went on a 180 mile motorcycle trip and road by the Kern River.  They have white water rafting most of the time, but due to the drought no rafts were on the river.  Maybe when the Sculpted sisters make another trek to CA that could also be on our agenda.

I've set a new goal to lose 20 lbs by Christmas. I need to start with getting moving though.

Got my steps in yesterday, a walk at lunch and then the gym.  Gym was less than satisfying with a couple of machine hogs doing circuits which made me grumpy, so I hopped on a treadmill just to get some cardio and finish my steps before grocery shopping - then a phone call that left me weepy for the rest of the night.  Sheesh, if I was younger I think it would be my TOM, not sure why I'm all emotional.  Today will not be much of an exercise day, kind of raining here, and I have plans for both lunch and dinner.

Yes, the water was cold, but not unbearable - and the day was quite warm.  The picture makes it look scarier than I actually felt, it was really quite fun, and no one fell out of the boat - now that would have been scary!

California Dreaming ladies....so glad you had the most fab time ever!  Heidi....OUCH!!!  I can tell you all about cycling injuries.  Joy....good luck with the move. I think you will be happy that you made this change.

Pat01....love the river pic.  Similar ones in Vermont, and you are right about the water temp.  You don't want to linger in those mountain rivers, even in mid August.  I can't tell you how many times I drank mint tea to warm up on a 90 degree August day.

I got to take most of the weekend off.  That is minimal work.  I got out on my bicycle, and I also finally finished up the laundry piled on my washing machine/dryer.  I cleaned up and re-organized my jewelry.  A lot of great pieces I forgot I had.  Found the gorgeous pearl necklace from my Maui trip.  Pink pearl in a silver setting is perfect with my summer things.  Still have the closet ahead, but need my wardrobe set up.

I thought I hadn't been doing enough training, but both Saturday and Sunday speeds were about 3 mph faster than my usual speed.  I consider this progress.  Need to get ready early today as have a work crisis.  Plus, a long "to do" list once things quiet down.

Highlight of the weekend was fresh local strawberries.  It's been sunny, so they are especially good this year.  They never made it home.  I just love this time of year.  The blackberries are in flower, and the scent cycling was just heavenly.  Not just the berries, but also HONEY to come.  My favorite of all honeys.  Happy, happy week everyone! (I know it's Tuesday, but Monday just flew by, and then it was Tuesday.) - Claire

Not so sure about that white water rafting.  With my luck I would fall out!    Most people probably don't/won't fall out but...  Are you tethered to the raft?  If not, can't you get washed away?  Shocked

Feeling better today now that I got some rest.  Need to figure out how to manage to get my daily exercise in and finish decluttering to sell the townhouse.  Working full-time does cramp my time!

    Later, sculpted sisters.

Sounds like a lot of us are worse for wear! I moved everything around for the carpet cleaners yesterday, picked all the weeds out of the flower beds, and swept up a whole garbage can of maple tree seeds & also picked them one by one out of the slats in the deck (they 'shed' every other year & are like little helicopters). They are all  the ground like a carpet of seeds.....my back in killing me, so I very lightly did Zumba last night & Core this morning. My pilates was cancelled & I don't even feel bad! I just bought a bunch of groceries  & now have to put the furniture back in place, wash floors etc. because my company is coming tomorrow afternoon. No rest for the wicked!!!! Loopy

No Patoo, you are not tethered.  The whole idea is to not get thrown out of the raft, while you paddle, paddle, paddle.  You kind of wedge your feet in under the pontoons.  But they give you a huge safety talk about what to do if the raft flips or you get thrown out - which boils down to "don't panic" lol.

    Hi girls-

WOW, Ruth and Patoo, you guys had to jump right back into real life!  Hope you can get some rest this weekend...I swam 1200 yards yesterday, did rowing intervals, weights and then today was Pilates.  It was hotter in our area yesterday than some parts of Death Valley!  I also went to my BS today for my every six monther; he's very proud of his work Winking.  He said everything, "Looked really great."  It's so weird, sometimes I get really nervous about a doc visit and sometimes I am very laid back.  Either way always surprises me.  Claire, you must be channeling through over here-I did the same thing this week with my jewelry.  It's amazing what you find out you have when you get organized!  I'm trying to organize a drawer or closet section a day.  Good goal, now let's see if it happens...Claire, my husband and I are going to be in your neck of the woods on June 17, 18 and 19th.  You always have great ideas on where to eat...got any must eat at restaurants?  Heidihill, ouch-falling off a bike is painful!  Hope you heal up quick.  Table tennis is pretty darn fun!  Lisa, I wanted to tell you, your hair looked fabulous in every picture (heh heh, but seriously, it did!)  I am so sorry you had such a tough time, but personally I am so grateful and happy you made it here-it was wonderful to meet you (and everyone else.)  Mary (Natsfan) must be gloating gloating today, her Nats killed our Giants.  I started smiling last night even when they were losing; my husband asked me why, and I said, "Oh, I know someone who is going to be very happy.)  HBCheryl, are you already back in the Eduardo zone?  And a shout out to Badger!  Everyone else, have a great day.  We had another school shooting today right next to where my mom lives-in your prayers or thoughts, please ask God to send us wisdom to stop this madness...it's getting to the point where we almost accept this as a society and that's downright scary!  Love to all of you

    xo

    Kim

PS Cheryl, I just saw your post and you are indeed in the EZ-Eduardo Zone...and then some!  Woohoo!

Another school shooting. O no. Aww. Damn. I can handle bc better than that. And the shooting in Vegas. Just people eating. At least the criminals took themselves out in that one. Sigh.

Very little exercise today, about 5000 steps worth. Think I'll do some more gardening before I take the dog for a walk.

    Hello girls:)

yesterday I didn't post my hour of cycling  and I walked the dog. Today I just walked the dog in the morning...it's my day off...my alternate day when I don't exercise...not sure if I'm meant to post this. Sometimes I feel guilty and I think that I should be exercising for an hour everyday but then I think....nah !!! Happy

I understand the right to bear arms argument (can see both sides) but will NEVER understand why anyone outside the military needs an automatic or assault type weapon...This madness needs to stop!

    ««« Hope that I didn't offend anyone »»»»

Since I could still walk after bootcamp yesterday, I went back tonight for more fun.. Singing Love the challenge and variety of it even if it is hard since it pushes me so much harder than I would ever push myself in the gym.

    Happy Hump Day ladies...

pat01, thanks, you have guaranteed that I will stay on dry ground when others go rafting!  Yep, I'm a big scaredy-cat.

Kim, I agree, we need much prayer to have this madness stopped.

Not back in the exercise 'routine' yet.  Did go for a 90-minute massage and now I feel relaxed and great.  Will pack a gym bag for after work tomorrow.

    Night my  sculpted friends.

I am hacking like I'm a 2 pack a day smoker but that didn't keep me from my Body Jam class tonight, I just stayed away from everyone so I wouldn't infect anybody and my ribs are so sore from all the coughing. I agree with you Kim, Lisa looks fabulous in all of the photos. Can't believe there was another shooting and yes it is scary where it is becoming the norm.

You all are too kind - I seldom think I look good in photos.  Guess that's the way we all feel, huh, execpt maybe RUTH - she always thinks she looks FABULOUS!!! lol

I am completely done in.  After arriving home Sunday at Midnight I climbed into bed and didn't get up until noon.  Showered, saw my doctor, ran a couple of errands and came back home to unpack and do some laundry.  Made it to work yesterday but went home at 10:00am and climbed back into bed for 6 hours.  Then held down the sofa until bedtime around 10 and didn't get up until nearly 7:30 this morning.  Still feeling dizzy and not quite right without much appetite.   Blech

Ran 2.5 miles before work. Like Cheryl, I still have a hacking cough too. I've had this nasty summer cold for about ten days and although it's not as bad as it was, it sure doesn't want to give up and go away for good.

    Hi all!

I'd like to get back into some kind of exercise regime. I'm 5 months out from my BMX and have always been kind of sedentary. Love to walk, garden, and ride my bicycle. Used to do Yoga and would love to get back into that. I really need some inspiration to get back into shape, so I hope to join you all in doing that...

    Thanks!

Jump in bc101, we will pump you up! ThumbsUp

It is pouring down rain here, but we Wednesday Walking Women were not wimps & walked outside anyway. Did a pilates DVD when I got home (after I dried off) & am now awaiting the company....which might not be so fun because DH is lying in the bedroom sighing and feeling 'fluish'......yikes!

Hi all. I was here a while ago but actually had my mastectomy with TEs last Thursday and now have a few questions. Of course I go to oncology tomorrow and back to BS and PS Friday so will confirm with them BUT I am wondering how soon I can resume cardio if I do not use my arms (still have drains but hopefully they will come out Friday). I am also afraid of the pocket "bottoming out" if I walk too much? Does this happen? I walked 1.5 miles today.

I have gained weight this past week (haven't been on scale but can tell) and am so afraid of gaining back 25 lbs I have lost over the past half year.

    Thanks.
