Lets Post our Daily Exercise

Hi Bethq-I think the med team will give you good advice there...there are lots of ways to move (and usually they like you to move, keep the fluid from building up) but they should be pretty specific. Don't worry, you will keep that weight off, probably the weight is largely due to the trauma/water retention of surgery. We'll be here to cheer you along on what ever they say you can do.
The California Dreamers got me all fired up and I was an exercise maniac today. Swam a 1400 yarder today, then worked out on balance and strength training, then golfed 9 holes with a bunch of crazy, fun women. Now I am procrastinating on a bunch of work I need to do. Sigh. It ain't going anywhere.
HB Cheryl, I'm sorry you got sick...must have been driving through the tulle fog, of course it wasn't the SF cold. Seriously, I hope you are feeling much better. Lisa, you really got socked with it, I hope this upcoming weekend you get completely recovered.
Ruth I wish we would get your rain. We are so dry here in California...
Patoo I saw a sign today, something I have seen so often, "Be the change you want to see in the world." I might talk a good story but I'm not sure what to actually do about the school shootings, just asked God in a prayer this morning and I will keep on asking. There has to be something we can actually do...but I feel pretty small and lost about it.
Kindergarten-I remember you, you are the nicest person! Hi there!
OK girls gotta get this work pile to reduce a little bit tonight. Have a great evening and great tomorrow y'all!

Yes, Kim, just stopped and said another prayer as I read your post. Lisa and Cheryl, hope you start to feel better soon.
Exercise this evening was just 2 hours decluttering/packing away/etc.
Night my sculpted friends.

Cheryl, I hope you feel better soon.
Welcome Beth and BC101. I started walking within days of my surgery and was encouraged to do so as tolerated.
Limited exercise for me today. 30 minutes on the Elliptical.
Night all.

Ladies, once you're here a while, you may hear Voices. That's us, encouraging one another. Kindergarten mentioned my Sculpted Sisters t-shirt; on the back it says, "The Voices Make Me Do It" LOL!
The high point of my day was getting ready to walk and putting on an old tank top from the 1983 Telluride Bluegrass Festival. It fit! And looked great! I had outgrown it but now with no breasts I can wear it again. Psyched!
Walked for an hour after work and logged 3.7 miles. ♥ to all

Welcome bc101 and Beth, I actually can't remember when I was cleared to go buck to exercise, I think it was a couple of weeks but he stipulated lower body only so I used to just sit on the recumbent bike and walk on the treadmill, when I was cleared to go back to my classes I used to do them with my right hand on my hip as I didn't have ROM so I was very careful. Lisa can they do a culture this sure sounds like more than anxiety, wish it lived closer I'd come over and give you a (((HUG)))
Thanks everyone, it's just a nasty cold but it's knocked me on my butt. today I actually left work at 1pm came home and laid on the couch and slept till 4pm, then I got up as I had arranged to meet a friend and go do Body Combat with the lovely Jericho (I thought of you Ruth and wished you could have shared the experience)

Hi Sweet and Cheryl, I hope you both feel better soon. Sweet, I'm glad you didn't regret the trip despite not being 100%.
Beth and Bc101, welcome!
Hour long hoop class tonight. With two hours of driving to and from :-(
So I did get into the frozen shoulder study. I get my first injection in 12 days.

Hi Ann,
I was recently diagnosed with a frozen shoulder. What kind of study are you in? How long have you had problems with your shoulder? I had PT after my BMX and actually went to several therapists, faithfully did all the exercises and stretches they gave me, and I still got it.

Welcome bc101 and Beth. Nice to read all of you are home from the trip out west, tired and happy. S&S, I think you lit up every photo!
I've been busy - not at the gym or much of anything because my dh had a accident that resulted in him cutting his left hand badly late last Sunday afternoon. Suffice to say, it's been long waits in hospitals and today once again down the M25 I take him to a regional specialist hospital for hand surgery. Anyway, it's been a heck of a week and hoping today is a turn around and forward momentum from here onwards.
Took a leaf out of AnnieLane's book and ran a 5k earlier this morning.

Welcome new ladies - you will love this thread, very welcoming and encouraging.
Sweet - something is not right, wish you would see someone about the issues you have been having this past week.
Lilac, sorry about your husband - You all have been through so much - sending positive thoughts your way.
Got a walk in at lunch yesterday, and a trip to the gym to work on legs, back and biceps. I realized I don't push myself as hard when I exercise alone as I do with trainer Mike, but I've cut back to twice a month training sessions due to the expense. Still, I am a little sore today, and I exercised, so that's a good thing!
Dreary with a chance of rain today - I keep dressing for summer and it keeps feeling like fall, so I'm cuddled up in my fleece slippers and jacket - at work!

So sorry you are under the weather, S&S and HBCheryl.
I actually got moving more last night. Went to dance class and actually stayed for the intermediate class for another hour and fifteen minutes. (Never did that before.) My legs are feeling it as we practiced lunges. It may not be cardio but it isn't sitting in front of the TV.

Dear Cheryl and Sweet! Hope you both feel better soon!! Rest this weekend! Ann, so glad that you got into the frozen shoulder study, and that it resolves your issues soon! LilacBlue, hope everything goes well with your husband's hand surgery! Badger, keep wearing that wonderful T-shirt!!
I walked and did hills yesterday! Walking up hills makes me huff and puff, so I better keep doing them so that I get in better shape!! It is a good workout!!

Welcome bc101 and Beth! I am sorry about your husband, Lilacblue. On exercising....make it something you like to do, and then get out there. I walked after surgery (lumpectomy) until my surgeon cleared me for cycling. I had been given upper body stretching exercises which I did religiously, but didn't go back to my free weights until the drain came out. I resumed my crunches then as well.
I cycled or walked every single day through chemo. I remember thinking when really dragging doing a mile+ walk how lucky I was because I would shortly be just fine, while those with canes and walkers would never be able to walk again. On that subject, I am thinking of President Bush as he prepares for his parachute jump on his 90th birthday. He can no longer walk, so jumping with someone. But he is doing a jump!
I need to exercise, color my hair, and while doing the hair, work on a newsBLAST that goes out later today. Plus, figure out how to add in new names to our distribution list. Don't ask about my afternoon task. A time suck that we just have to get past.
I did a very slow run on Monday, and only a walk last night as fried. On the bright side, the bottle of past-its-prime white wine that I was given to test out sangria options was still in its prime! So had some with schnitzel last night. YUM! (Will use the rest with Italian lemon soda.)
Just gorgeous here and greatly looking forward to weekend rides. Just four weeks to the Seattle-to-Portland so need more miles. Happy exercising everyone, and sending major "Voices" to keep us all moving. - Claire

Lilac, sorry about DH's accident & hope he can get on the mend.
Had a nice time with my company & got them on the road in time to zip over to Core & Pilates.
Now I will finally have a little time to recuperate from all the traveling! As awesome as it was (and it was awesome), I am casting all my votes for a spa/resort vacation for next year!!!!

Yes, Ruth!! Great idea!!!

Just a quick check in to say what a wonderful time I had in SF with the California Dreamin' ladies. Will catch up on all the news and write more later but too tired now. Our flight back home yesterday was delayed by over 2 hours, then we had a 30 mile drive home from the airport through a vicious thunderstorm. Went back to work today but not sure how effective I was. Having an early dinner and plan to be in bed by 8.
It was a fabulous trip and so good to be with so many of you in real life.

Ok since I just had surgery a week ago I post today that I have pretty near full range of motion back in my arms, which is quite an accomplishment thus far. Now to get my drains out tomorrow (hope) and get back into shape!

Wow, Beth, that is really, really good !! You will be exercising a lot in no time !!! Walked the outlet mall today!!! Down to the gym tomorrow !!!

Went to Zumba tonight.
I put a few pictures of the California trip on a mods get-together thread, in case anyone wants to take another look:

Lilacblue, what a week. Sending heartfelt hugs to you and prayers for a speedy recovery for your DH.
Ruth, love the spa resort suggestion.
Congrats Beth! You are doing remarkable.
Went to bootcamp again tonight. Boy am I beat.....

Let's keep this place in mind, if it reopens - looks amazing: http://www.regencyhealthspa.com/fitness.html
May find a 'Resort/Hotel' or 'Destination' Spa package here: http://www.spafinder.com/spaguide/types/index.jsp
The one I went to several years ago was in Mexico but not near the water. It was amazing but I did not like the 2-hour bus ride after landing in Mexico City so we can nix that place (even if I could remember the name/location).
Today's exercise was sitting in dentist chair for deep cleaning. Going up to walk/march/jump while watching news. Need to check into the hooping at some point.
Night my sculpted sisters.

Spa/resort is always a marvelous idea.
Oh lilac I hope your hubby has a successful surgery. Those men get into so much trouble sometimes.
Welcome newbies!
Plenty of rain here this week and sickness has kept my exercise low this week. I did get out today for 32 minutes. I'm going to have to put in some time tomorrow and Saturday to get to my weekly goal.

I was thinking more in the line of cabana boys serving us umbrella drinks while we sit reading trashy novels on the beach.......

Hoping Cheryl and Sweet are feeling better!
Lilac: So sorry about your dh. (((HUGS))) to all of you.
Ruth: That's a picture of me doing yoga!
Beth: Take it slow and easy. Hope your drains come out tomorrow.
Nats: Glad you're back home safe and sound. These thunderstorms have been scary!
Good evening Everyone! Mowed today for 1 1/2 hours. Then power walked/jogged at the park. I've been soaked with sweat all day because of the humidity. Ugh.

Hey ruth, works for me! Acapulco anyone?

Ruth I'm liking your idea more and more.

I sense a party ahead!!!!

Ha! Great idea, Ruth.
Hooped this morning and did a trail walk with the DH later.

As long as we don't pick a spa like the Miraval where they have you doing all kinds of trust exercises, you know climbing up a pole and then walking on rope holding on to each other, massages, lazing on a floatie in the pool and reading trashy novels sounds perfect to me. LB your poor DH, he really has been through the wringer hasn't he. Nats glad you made it home safely, wish some of those showers would come our way, we really need rain.
I did go to Body Jam class last night, although I probably shouldn't have as I had to leave the room twice to catch my breath, I came home fed the animals and then got straight into bed with lots of covers to 'sweat it out' and I woke up this morning feeling so much better, still coughing but no more 'fuzzy' feeling.
