Never knew the sequoias where that big, just always heard of the redwoods being big. Amazing what you learn at an old age!

Lovely pics all of you.I don't get to travel anymore but sure would like to  see coastal California. I did not realize the mountains were so close. I guess like Seattle area I am now in.

Ruth I just love that first one. When we drove Rte 1 from Mexico to Portland, then up to Vancouver; I didn't have a digital camera and I took very few photos. What a shame. Don't think we'll be doing it again

One more then; we started out a little later in the day than we should have, wish we could have gotten more full daylight pictures! I'm pretty sure that will be my one and only driving up the coast trip too....wonderful, but a LONG drive!

All three of my sons went to college up in the San Francisco area. I used to drive 500 or more miles alone up or back to take them to or from college. Turn right around and drive back the next day. The worst part was hitting LA rush hour traffic  coming home. The drive got very old very fast.

Ruth, the earlier "moody" ones are very effective! What a lot of people don't realize is that full sunshine is not your friend for a photo. Too many shadows and "blown out" white (the camera attempts to correct the brightness on it's own and is usually wrong).
