hello owls, back after a hiatus. Lost power for a couple days due to bad storms then had clean-up to do but we're all OK and that's what matters.
Someone (luvmygoats?) asked about the traveling BCO sisters. There's a handful (and, yes, we can be a handful LOL) who are the core group that goes just about every year, and we meet up with as many locals as we can during the trip. This year, we got to meet 2TA and SDB who post here, LOVELY ladies!
This was our fourth annual vacation. We've been to Minneapolis, Chicago, Wash DC, and now California, which we loved so much we may go back next year!
Tonight, while you are all at a wild party, I'll be in Milwaukee. I surprised mom with tickets to Il Volo in concert with the Wisconsin Philharmonic. They're three young Italian tenors, maybe you caught them on American Idol a few years ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbZvz0pXV48
L&H&P's to all! ♥♥♥

So DD agreed that if I set up a family therapy appointment she would go. So that is something positive. Going to hold firm on the car. We'll offer to continue paying the insurance until she is 21 in two months, (hopefully rate will drop then) and then she's got to pick up the tab since she will be working. Life is tough when you've got to put your big girl panties on and pay bills since you don't want to live at home and follow rules.
Going to do laundry today. I hate laundry!

This is my answer to Chevy's neat garden. This is taken from the street. DH's theory is that one flower is good and many is better. There is one small piece of grass. About the right size for 2 chairs and a small table to hold the ice tea. BTW, this is the first photo I've gotten to post in months. Changed my browser.

aw, Badger, nice to get to meet you too! Kindergarten and Whippetmom joined us too.
Wren, beautiful!
FIerceBB, small steps are good. Have more to comment, just don't have the time. Unfortunately, here in CA car insurance rates drop after age 25, not 21, you might want to check into that.
Have a great Saturday, everyone! BBL

When, that is breathtaking. I love natural spaces.

Happy Saturday to all... Today is the sandcastle contest in Cannon Beach, Oregon. I had hotels lined up, but it did not work out. It has been on my bucket list for 15 years. Next year...

I played golf 2 days in Nevada, beautiful weather. My niece played like a pro, we got first gross in our flight. $175 each to spend in the pro shop.
Now I am exhausted.
Cami, have a rockin good time with your family...
Wren, beautiful area, looks peaceful.
FBB, sounds like progress has been made with DD....
Philly, hang in there, thinking of you....

Okay, HIO! I'll bet you're going to tell us you play golf!
I only know a little about Golf, because of following our Grand-sons around a lot of courses here in Denver, and Grand Lake! I know about the restaurants on the course, also.... Ha! Now they live on a golf course in Dr. Phillips in Orlando, and they are still playing golf with their Dad when they can! That second picture is beautiful! Is that where you were? Also in Oregon? Well, it's beautiful!

wren, what a beautiful yard!
We went to the sand castle competition eleven years ago. It was great. I'd like to go again one year. Right now though, hubby isn't in to anything that interferes with fishing. Maybe next year or the one after that.
Badger, you ladies ought to come to Seattle sometime. You'd love it.

Oh all the places u gals go it's wonderful, and the colors are so pretty in the garden r whatever that is and yes Chevy that was the exact party I went to. U know what a party animal I am.
FBB that was really good to read, and so it begins.
Well it's storming like mad here so I'm getting skeered, and I'm watching a skeeery movie, so I'm really stupid.
BTW Chevy we might not be that smart, but I bet we can commit a crime and get away with it. Disclaimer if any Government Org. is reading this I am just teasing Chevy cuz we do that not now or before or in the futre will we plan or execute any crime what so ever. Bwahahahaha

ANYONE HERE HAVE A HORSE?
0 -
Oh? Cammi, did you see THAT? Blessings posted that pic of that horse with that "fly-mask"???
Now that makes me wonder... Is THAT what they are for? I had no idea!!! I've SEEN them on a few, but thought they were just to help them sleep or something! Can you imagine THAT? Here is a better one...

But good idea blessings...! But do they do that for Pigs? I mean THEY would really need it! So you see, all that I know about live-stock you could fit into a thimble.
I just found out the difference between a Bull and a Steer, and Now I have forgotten THAT.
See I was getting into an argument one time with these 2 ranchers, when I was working a promotion for Pepsi, and they brought their Bulls or Steers to promote THEIR meat or something... And they were talking and I just asked "but what is the difference between the Bull and the Steer? Now I was really cute at the time, and rather sweet.... So one Rancher just walked away.... And the other one said something like "Well, mam, the Bull has not been castrated yet" .... And I said "But why would they do that ANYway?" And then he politely excused himself and walked away also.
So whatever.... I STILL don't know why they would do that... I mean maybe it's just one of those mysteries of life... Cammi.... do YOU know?

Oh God.... don't look it up.... ! Those poor Bulls... I'll just stick to looking up things like rain-bows and White Rhino "flowers."

Good Morning all
Chevy I believe I know the answer--- It might have depended on the religious faith that the ranchers have. =Like circumcised or not depending on u'r beliefs. And I didn't look that up.
Blessing now I know I could have donated all my bras to a horse ranch. Oh well, too late now.

Ok, just lost my post, won't try to repeat...anyway.. Good Morning!! Haven't had a very good weekend, lots of pain and not much sleep, but here's a little funny that some of you will understand!

Gardengumpy, I went to Cannon Beach 2 summers ago, but not the weekend of the contest. I wondered is parking a huge issue if you are not staying in Cannon Beach? I have plans to go in 2 weeks, only staying in Rockaway Beach, which is south.
Chevster, really? you cannot figure out why the good ranchers need to clip the steers? They do it to sheep also. Believe me, I am a city girl, live in the wild now, but grew up in LA, Ca. Even I got that one figured out.
Cami, yes you are correct little one.....it has to do with religion.....The Jewish steers get to keep there's.
Chevy, how is your White Rhino tomatoes coming along? Do they have a certain aroma?
Oh, this is kinda interesting...My area is farming, cows, dairy, spuds. There is a meat packing plant that produces hot dogs, polish dogs, bacon, pork ribs. Once or twice a month, a Hasidic Jew flies in and after all the machinery is cleaned, he blesses the plant so they can package kosher meat. Seeing a Hasidic Jewish man in this neck of the woods is like seeing Big Foot.
Badger, I have seen a few of the photos of your trip, will look for more. I think that is wonderful that you travel with BCO ladies. Was is a great concert last night ?
Off to get something done.....happy Sunday, waving hello to all....

The concert was AWESOME! Although the average age of the audience was at least 50, there were a surprising number of children. A lady sitting up front had her (four-YO?) daughter on her lap and Piero brought the little girl up on-stage and sang to her, very sweet. A slew of young women rushed the stage at the end of the last encore to reach up and get their hands touched (ooooh!). A lucky few even got selfies with one of the guys. Very fun night and so glad we did this. ♥

Good Afternoon Owlettes. Concerts and castrating all in the same page. Definitely diversity of thought LOL.
Badger traveling girl. Orlando has allot to offer, but need to plan carefully to make best use of money. Sleep keeps coming to visit , but at the wrong time. My head is all messed up. Talk about messed up. There is a vote on medicinal pot in the fall. But very specific diagnoses. Stupid law. Only going to make matters worse.FBB sounds like you had a good talk. HI1 is right rates don't go down until after 25-26. It would be less if she stayed on yours and paid you. Is she going to stay on the BBF's couch?
DBBf just replaced DS's duct work in the attic of his new house. They worked together. Ds was amazed at how hard DBBF works/ed. I think some bonding went on. DBBf's helper's not showing up turned out to be a good thing. Life is good(for this afternoon)LOL. Shoe seems to drop after something nice.
BBL or see you tomorrow L&H&P's Waving sassy

Hi - Holeinone. As I recall, Cannon Beach always has some parking problems in the summer. When we went to the contest we stayed at a hotel on the beach - therefore had parking - and never moved the vehicle the entire time we were there.
Cannon Beach isn't that big, and eleven years ago I could walk miles and miles without getting tired - I'm not so sure how I'd do now.0 -
gardengumby, I'd love to visit Seattle! Not sure the beachy people would vote for it tho.

You guys are all nuts! So you mean the cows and bulls have religions too? And goats? Now do you really think I am going to believe THAT?
So I'll bet they castrate Roosters too? Because they are WHAT again? Nope.... I ain't a-gonna buy that....
Nettie! Did you hear that? I don't think know what they are talking about.... I suppose they have little churches for all the bulls, if they want to be steers.... But if they change their religion they can stay Bulls? Now that's BS you know.... just thought I would let you know...
Nettie.... CUTE cartoon.... yes.... I think we can all relate! Ha, ha!
Wish you felt better....
Okay, so I am soaking a lot of bars of soap.... Just like they used to do in the old days.... We don't use soap anymore.... and I have all these bars! So I have a big like pretzel jug, and I have them soaking and getting liquefied... and I will wash clothes and various things, and see how it works. I am also adding old baking soda.... I've read where you can do that....
Yes, HIO! But it is to make their meat taste better? Man, they had better do something, because beef just does not taste that good anymore..... And my White Rhino tomato plants are doing good.... How come YOU know so much about it?
Oh, so you are saying that a some sort of Jewish man will bless those bulls to make them Kosher? That's all it takes?
You expect me to believe THAT one? YOU guys will fall for anything!

So you are saying they miss with THIS guy?

2TA - I don't believe that pic - it's been Photoshopped, I'm sure.
There is NO WAY Barbie could squeeze her fat feet into those tiny shoes!!

Chevy, yes we established early on that we fall for anything, we'll lay down, we go out to the toonies and find young twigs to pole dance on. So, it's an easy leap think that we believe anything : Ahem imo

Chevy, nice rack!0 -
GOOD one Sassy! Ha, ha! Yes, we will believe anything.... almost.... pert-near anyway.
I'm making those garlic-cheddar bisquits for dinner..... AND home-made mashed potatoes, and I'm cooking this tough little ba$tard of a "tenderized" steak! I cut it up into pieces, floured it, browned it in my cast-iron skillet, added onions and garlic, and brown gravy mix, and I am simmering it until the cows come home! OR until it is tender.
Don't you just hate when you buy a tenderized piece of meat, and you can hardly chew it? So I'll show IT!
0 -
Good catch, Blessings!
Chevy, dinner sounds yummy! The only uses I know for the "tenderized" cube steaks are chicken fried steak. Your idea sounds so good, I'll have to try it.
0 -
You know, I TRIED that with mine, but it still didn't taste good.... I covered it with Bisquick, and let it set for about an hour, but when I fried it, it just wasn't very good!
So that's why I cut this one up, and am simmering it.... It really DOES taste good now... and we'll have it over the mashed potatoes...
My Grandma used to brown her flour in a big cast-iron skillet.... Just poured the flour in, turned the flame up, and kept stirring it until it browned all over. She would save it in a big jar, for whenever she needed it..... Everything tasted so good when she would put that browned flour on, and then fry it in bacon grease.... She did that with her pot-roasts, AND chicken. And everything was fried in bacon grease, that she kept in a can on the back of the stove.
When she fried the chicken, and it was brown, she would add the onions, and simmer it all with water.... ! It was sooooooo tender and tasty!

Chevy, mine used to be so-so, until I found this recipe:
http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/02/chicken...
Garlic cheddar biscuits sound yummy. Easy to make? Maybe it's the summer heat or something else, but I run out of ideas (don't mind cooking though). What are some of your easy go-to recipes for chicken (use a lot of boneless, skinless chicken breasts). Thanks!
