pbrain, you have re motivated me to work harder to get the fifteen pounds off that I have out on. I succumbed to a cupcake today. It was calling to me.
Time to recoup and get serious.

I have been working hard through rads I feel so much better than chemo. I watch my diet but have increased exercise. Not up to my pre diagnosis level. But getting better.
You can do it fluff!!

wtg pbrain!!
Good luck with your decision today debiann.
You can do it Fluff!!
I have visible stubble on my head - can't really tell what color yet - but I can see it without a magnifying glass lol. Also have a mustache - and it is very visible and dark - lovely - have had facial hair for years - but this is really a mustache. I guess I need to look into getting it removed by laser? - any suggestions?
Still have muscle burning when I walk alot or am active for long periods and my stomach is still not a happy camper. I am 8 weeks PFC. In general I feel much better though. I have my next set of blood tests next Tuesday and am hoping that my liver enzymes show some improvement. I am fearful that if they do not that it will cause my exchange surgery schedule for the 19th to be postponed. I hope not - I just want to get that behind me.

pbrain - yay on the weight loss! That is great!

congrats P brain on the weight loss!!
Went through menopause before dx and it wasn't bad at all. Some hot flashes, night sweats and sleeping problems but all in all not a biggie .
Tell my Doctors I failed menopause and got sent back to do it again with a VENGEANCE! It is much worse on the AI in every way for me. I don't get too many flashes but always feel warmer and when I exercise or do yoga .. About 45 minutes into it I just start dripping sweat.
Just got back from pharmacy. $160 for Latisse so I can get my eyelashes back. $ $40 for anastrozole 3 mos. $22 for minoxidil so I may just be able to save the curly, fine dark wisps of limp hair I have at the moment.
But dammit... I'm gonna keep trying and so are all of you!!!!!

Congrats on the weight loss Pbrain!

I also went through menopause prior to diagnosis, but it was surgical and ended up having very regular and quite intense hot flashes. They continued at least hourly for the nine years from hyst/ooph to diagnosis, and they have not been made worse - or better - by taking either Arimidex or Femara. Like ashla, my eyelashes lately have been suffering as has my poor hair, I have lost at least 30%. Had an appt. yesterday with the PS to review the plan for the next recon - delayed eve farther and now he is thinking of several fat graftings and then en expander to implant, and totally forgot to ask for a Latisse prescription!!! I thought about it right when I got out of the car, then forgot
I just got a new kind of Minoxidil from my hairdresser. Not giving up either!!!0 -
Special K
I started Latisse in January because PBrain said she used it. It is GREAT! My lashes now touch the lens on my eyeglasses! You still lose them but the cycle is longer and lots of backup so it's not as bad. My eyelids have, however , changed color a bit. They're kind of purple which is actually ok cause I have hazel eyes:) tip for saving money. Mine lasts 4 months. Put drop in the cap and dip brush in. Also if you can find thinner brush . I also use one brush both eyes . They recommend 2 to prevent spread of infection.
I started maintenance now which is just a few times a week so should last longer. Anyway I feel it is money well spent!

ashla - thanks for the user tips! My lashes and brows were looking challenged before chemo, so it did me no favors in that department. I think if I call the receptionist in the PS office she can have him write a prescription and I will just pick it up another day - his office is a ways from my house. Maybe she can even call it in or mail it to me.

Hello Triple Positive Group!
Thanks to all you ladies. I have been lurking on this site since my diagnosis in April 2014 and all that has come after. I found this forum to be a great source of support and now that I am nearing my 8th infusion of T/H, I want to say thanks for keeping me company. Well, more than that. You've kept me sane and made me smile when I've needed it most. Hope I will be able to give back to others what you all have given me. Big hugs to each of you.

Welcome marineswife!

Marineswife, welcome! Post away. We all love to chat, especially with the newbies. We were in your shoes and Debiann is right, these ladies were angels to me. I was so bewildered, I asked everything I could think of, even dumb stuff.
Debiann, let us know what you chose. Either way, you've done quite a lot, so definitely be proud. I don't have thyroid issues, and my TSH stayed normal during chemo, but I'm sure the stuff can cause problems in some people.
Thanks everyone for the congrats on the weight loss. It has been slow since I've been doing this since the end of February, but bit by bit it is falling off. The Weight Watchers' program is so easy to follow. I do need to step up exercise though. I've found I've become physically really lazy since chemo. Anyone else feel like that happened to them? I think it might be that I don't have the usual strength in my legs and that I still have some neuropathy in my feet. But then I tell myself that is just an excuse, and that I probably have some depression instead...I might see someone. I've been thinking a lot about that to kind of right myself a bit. This whole thing kind of leaves a big indent in your life.

debiann - yay!!!

debiann you made it! Yay!
Pbrain congrats on that weight loss. That's really great!
Marine welcome!
Fluff good luck I hope you can stick with it.
Specialk hope you continue to do well with yours.
Tomorrow I go back for another stick for my magnesium test and port flush. Any bets? Needed one last time after sx. Didn't need it for 2 times before sx. 2 years PFC. MO wants to try cutting down on the magnesium supplements soon. But if I still need infusions we won't go there! LOL I feel fine but I always guess wrong. If I'm tired and dragging I think I need it and I dont. But i feel fine and so well see!
Much love to all.

Nails are nearlyl normal

PBrain
Hate exercising myself except for yoga but I have made it into a matter of will. I am never happy heading for the gym but I absolutely don't let myself to give in to the urge to quit ! Took a long time to get there. Hope I can continue because I think it has saved my bones for awhile.
As much as I love breast cancer.org , it has it's limitations. Now that we have become dear friends through breast cancer it would be the best if we could sit and talk face to face about the inside stuff like depression . We trust each other . For me anyway, I couldn't do it in writing and would rather not have it on paper

I hear ya PBrain. Feeling it too and it's not even about recurrence !

I had to go back and read about 4 pages...congrats to everyone that has finished. Pbrain great job on the weight loss. My MO kindly told me I need to loose the weight I have gained since treatment started. So I am working on it.
Welcome to the newbies. This is a great group.

Just wanted to let anyone know that looked into the WHIP study ashla linked a few pages ago - they are looking for people who began their hormonal therapy after April 2012 - if you started earlier than that you do not qualify. They have had a good response, but still recruiting.

Seriously Princess! That's after 14 weeks? You've given me hope that maybe I could be that lucky and have that much hair 11 weeks from now.

Thanks guys, you are all the best! I need to get off my dead behind and go work out. We have a giant gym at work and it is always possible to get an elliptical. Plus they have lots of classes, including Yoga, which I love. I just have to go. Might make the Winter easier for me!
Special, I sent my info for the study, and I started arimidex after April 12th. I haven't heard anything. Wonder if it ended up in my spam....
Nice hair Princess!!!

Wow, weight loss and hair growth, so many exciting things going on around here! For me its the beginning of the yucky taste days, but you are all an inspiration and I can't wait for my turn for hair & the energy to excerise.
Hope your test went well Moon!

Been super busy. Just wanted to say a quick hello.
welcome marineswife
Depression. Yeah I got that from Anastrozole. Suffered for 2 years till it got so bad I realize it wasn't me. Took a med vacation for 5 weeks (my onc on board). Sure enough depression gone; sleep issues gone; back, shoulder, and neck pain all gone. I've been on Exemestane now for 2-3 months. Still feel good. Make sure the depression isn't from the meds. Also even if it isn't don't suffer. Get help. There is no need to live like this.
