Yep patty  i am here  have been lurking, took myself off of predesone and although i may b sleeping i can't  breathe,  back on tomorrow  n will just have to deal with the no sleeping  schedule.  Took a nap today  cause i went with dd2 to get an ultrasound,  they couldn't  find the heartbeat at the drs office, everything is fine, gd is due April 28th, dd2is due may 26th, wtf, if either was a food thing it would b ok but neither is. Anyway  hope u all r ok

    Bbl

  • hi smarty yes floor pics please tomorrow.

Blondie - hey there. Thought you might be around. Dang it's not too much to ask for good sleep and good breathing, huh. So darn sorry. No choice there. Gotta breathe right. Hoping the prednisone kicks back in quickly.  Wow both ds's of your and a gd pregnant. Sounds very exciting.  Super glad the ultrasound went well for her. Must have been scary indeed at the Drs office.  You got a lot to look forward to.  Is it getting cold there yet ?  Wondered if the weather was exaggerating breathing problems ?  Thinking of you.

  • hey Blondie didn't you used to have your pic as your avatar ?  Can't remember ?

She is being abusied by the idiot she is married to she has a 8, 4,2 and he wants a boy that is why she is preg. So i just keep saying hope it is a girl over n over every  day even to her, n i don't  even like girls, lol... i am trying not to take it on thanks

  • Hi Patty! I'm here, too tired for much. Sat in my recliner for an hour without TV or distractions just to decompress. Emotional day. Thanks Patty, Wren, Chevy and others for the emotional support. Very needed and appreciated.

Chevy, told me dad about putting the phone in the microwave. Funny! He's being bombarded with political and donation calls, he just hangs up. Being on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY means diddly squat.

Patty, so funny how you handled your DS's. Hoping for some peace and quiet time for you. Yea, what am I thinking, you have two active boys! Can you send them to some friends house tomorrow?

    Tang ThumbsUp

Mags, so sorry you're in pain. Wishing you pain relief.

Good to see you hanging out here SheChirple!

Blondie, what stress! Admire your great attitude.

Hi Patty and Blondie- nice to see others are up. It's a bit after 10 and no way I can sleep. Wide awake. Sucks about the rib pain with Magdelene. My Mom had pleurisy and she was in agony.. hurt to move &  hurt to breathe, sounds like that. Jeez  just miserable. My joints ache me... endlessly.. I feel like the Tin man on Wizard of Oz! Creeeekkkk. ugh. I make myself walk the dogs. Exercise is good..in small doses.

Scary about the no heart beat but then they found it! Yikes.. glad. You have lots to look forward to Blondie. Lot of crap with behaviors too and I hope that lessens. Hope you begin to feel a little bit better.

Patty I read that you all have a cabin. We have one too. It' s really small 560sq ft but the setting is lovely. We sometimes let folks use it. I have some friends that would love to use it a lot. I have let them once, and we met them for a picnic. They let their dogs (big dogs) jump up on the futon couch and beds. I have a thing about dogs on furniture. I hate it, especially beds. Many folks sleep on the futon couch we have and I do not want it smelling like a huge wet German Shepard. (the dogs had been playing in the river) I love dogs and we have 3, but they have soft thick fluffy beds on the floor. They stay there too. Their dogs run right into the place and fly right upon the couch. I cringe. The other folks we let use the place have dogs trained exactly like ours and they bring their doggy beds. No issue. Am I being anal about this? I just need someone else' perspective. Maybe because I took too many classes in college on microbes and bugs and parasites and I have an excellent idea of what's out there - and I don't want it on my pillow or my kid's pillows! My sniffer is great too.. which can sometimes be a curse.

  • hi RoseV, we're on the same time schedule. 560 square feet small? Been watching Tiny House Nation, that's huge compared to some. Can't image how people live in 200 sq ft and under. I would be claustrophobic! And I agree about the dogs. If you don't let yours sleep on furniture, neither should guests. It's not like you're banning them totally, just off the furniture. Maybe if guests let the dogs sleep on furniture they should sleep on the floor (or outdoors)? I remember seeing a cabin several pages ago, was that yours? Would love to see pics of the interior.

Smaarty, your home looks bee-you-tea-full! Hoping it gets settled soon so you can get back to sewing

Sassy, thinking of you as well as Blessings, Pawprint, Cammi, Teka, Jeni, sorry, brain is toast and can't think of others right now.

  • Blondie - did you say you were putting your pic back up?

I am actually doing good tonight. Woohoo. No complaints.  Sweet. Can't say many days have been like this but looking forward to more great days.

Hoping for a boy for your dd2. But must say a boy won't stand a chance with 3 older sisters. Abusing idiot husband sounds terrible and the gd living there preg too with her issues. Wow. At least  they are not all living with you. Lol. Must be hard to have adult children and even grandchildren.  Now I can still tell my ds's what to do and for the most part they do it (12 & 9 ). Scary thinking of them being adults and making adult decisions that I disagree with but unable to do much about it. Must be very frustrating.  Def enjoy those temps they sound perfect.

My mom was the greatest about treating me like an adult when it was time. Never told me directly what to do , never gave her opinion unless asked never came between hubby and me and rarely criticized my choices but rather made subtle suggestions on what to do next time.  I could always talk to her openly and honestly like a friend  and respected her opinion - even if it didn't always agree with mine.  If I could have her back from heaven for just one day I would curl up in her lap like a child and have her rub my face (our thing ) and  ask her so many questions on how she made this cancer crap look so easy.  She was a super strong woman.  I sure miss her.

  • image

  • wow I was rambling on and on and when I finally finished I seen several people are still up. Yea.

2nd - I've seen that show tiny house nation a couple times. Def not something I plan on doing. Nope I need my space and oh yeah my stuff.

Rose valley - oh no , you are totally in the right to decide what guest do in your cabin. I would really talk to them about it and let them know how it affects your nose. Blame it on allergies. Pets in floor , in cage or left at their own house. Maybe post some house hints and rules as a reminder. Your not a hotel. You are just being kind they should respect that if not tell em to check out a motel 6...they'll leave the light on.  Lol.

2nd-time-around - Nope I haven't posted my cabin. It's rustic 2bedroom, there is a loft, but you can't stand up. I love it because there is nothing to fuss with, just be one with the forest. No place to shop, no internet, no distractions! No election calls! Sick of those. It's so dark up there, no light pollution and a zillion stars, when it's not raining. Sometimes at night you can hear the owls calling. Love that. Love the light streaming through the trees... like a cathedral. Sometimes I just sit by the woodstove and read and sip hot tea.. heaven. I like to sketch and draw too, mostly plants and fungi and animals I see on my walks. My kids think the place is terminally boring. How on earth could an old growth forest be boring? It's teaming with life! If it's hot and they can throw themselves in the river- then they don't think it's boring!!

Glad I am not the only one about dogs on beds and couches. I love my dogs. I love to walk my dogs up there on the trails. It's a wonderful place to take a dog. These folks have  very nice dogs too, friendly sweet. I just don't want them on the furniture. When things get smelly and or dirty I have to cart everything out of there and drive it over an hour home to wash. It's a hassle. We never exchange $ just free use. I think folks take better care of things when they don't pay.

I love those teeny tiny house shows. When I am up at the cabin I marvel at how little space we really need to be happy.

  • very descriptive rosevalley.  It sounds perfect.

  • RoseV, your home In the forest sounds peaceful and lovely! Hoping you get out there often. Peace and nature -ahhhh! I would love the deck, is it warm enough to sleep out there? And don't get me wrong, while I like the mini houses, I don't think I could live in one (too much stuff and too little space) unless I had to (beats being homeless). Some would make perfect like motor homes/5th wheels. In SoCal, seems like everyone has a motor home/5th wheel with jet skis/see-do's. (Not us). Real extravagance. Is that only SoCal or other parts of the country? We're like peasant class that we don't have one. These hotels on wheels don't feel like "camping" (or "glamping" for glamour camping) to me. Growing up, we started with a pop-up tent trailer, then the bare-bones travel trailer (with small stove, teeny oven, sink and a postage stamp bathroom) that was luxurious. Now a days, they have AC, dishwasher, big screen TV (ok, maybe no cable but for VCR), stereo of course, some with washer/dryer even. No roughing it. And for those who own these and whose feet I stepped on, so sorry.

Ok, ladies, I'm exhausted, need some sleep. Need to be up around 6, have my BC retreat, 45 minutes (during the week, hopefully not on the weekend) and still haven't figured out what I'm wearing. Did get some polish on those toe nails so I can borrow DD's kitten heels.

    Good night ladies!

Morning Gals!  Hope this morning finds you a little better, Mags.... and you TOO SheChirple!  Okay, have I met you here before?  Even if you are not an Insomniac, like I'm not, we still have a lof of frun and friends here...!  I'll post this, that I pasted here, before I lose it....  Some of it is pretty useful....  Okay.... all of it is.

An Angel says, 'Never borrow from the future.
    If you worry
    about what may happen tomorrow

and it doesn't happen, you have
    worried in vain.

Even if it does happen, you have to worry
    twice.'

    1. Pray.

    2. Go to bed on
    time.

    3. Get up on time so you can start the day
    un-rushed.

    4. Say "No" to projects that won't fit
    into

your time schedule, or that will
    compromise your
    mental health.

    5. Delegate tasks to capable
    others.

    6. Simplify and unclutter your life.

    7.
Less is more (Although one is often not

    enough, two are often too
    many).

    8. Allow extra time to do things and to get to
    places.
    9. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes
    and

difficult projects over time; don't lump
    the

    hard things all together.

    10. Take one day at a
    time.

    11. Separate worries from concerns.
    If a
    situation

is a concern, find out what God would
    have you
do and let go of the anxiety.

    If you can't do anything
    about

    a situation, forget it!

    12. Live within your
    budget; don't use credit

    cards for ordinary
    purchases.
    13. Have backups; an extra car key in your
    wallet,

an extra house key buried in the garden,
    extra
    stamps, etc.

    14. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut).

    This
    single piece of advice

    can prevent an enormous
    amount of
    trouble.

    15. Do something for the Kid in You
    everyday.
    16. Carry a spiritually enlightening book
    with

you to read while waiting in line.

    17. Get enough
    rest.

    18. Eat right.

    19. Get organized so
    everything has its place.
    20. Listen to a tape while driving that
    can

help improve your quality of life…

    21. Write down
    thoughts and inspirations.

    22. Every day, find time to be
    alone.

    23. Having problems? Talk to God on the
    spot.

Try to nip small problems in the bud.
    Don't wait
until it's time to go to

    bed to try and pray.

    24. Make
    friends with Godly people.
    25. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on
    hand.

    26. Remember that the shortest bridge
    between

despair and hope is often a good
    'Thank you
    GOD ...'

    27. Laugh.

    28. Laugh some
    more!

    29. Take your work seriously, but not yourself at
    all.

    30. Develop a forgiving attitude (most

    people are
    doing the best they can).

    31. Be kind to unkind people
    (they

    probably need it the most).

    32. Sit on your
    ego.

    33. Talk less; listen more.

    34. Slow
    down.

    35. Remind yourself that you are not the

    general
    manager of the universe.

    36. Every night before bed, think of one
    thing

    you're grateful for that you've
    never been grateful
    for before.

Okay, I'm back! So glad to see everyone here, mostly!
Peppermint... Yes, it must have been so hard with your Son
when he was sick! You just want things fixed NOW!

Morning Smaarty! I'll bet you are so happy with your
floors.... Yes, post pictures.. I was just soooooo happy to get that old
carpeting out of here, and this stays so much cleaner, and easier to KEEP that
    way...

Hi little LadyBug! Nope, not cold yet, but supposed to be
cooler by Monday. We have had the most beautiful Autumn this year... Driving
around, you run into trees that are Red, yellow, and still green...

Welll you don't actually run INTO them, but the colors just take you by
surprise! So the baby is due the last of April? How fun for the whole
    family! Congratulations!

And another one? Your GD too? I should read your whole post before I
start typing! Oh wait.... WTH? You want me and Cammi to come straighten
    things out?

I watched Madea Goes to Jail last night, and SHE would straighten EVERYone
up! She was in jail, with BIG ALICE..... just like Phyllidink was/is, and she
would keep things running SMOOTH! Ha! Just give that kid a birth control pill
every morning with her coffee. That's what I told my youngest Daughter, when
she got married.... We didn't like the kid..... Liked his MOTHER, but not the
kid.  Thank God they were only together a couple years...

Morning 2222222222nd! You know, there are sooooooo many people upset
about those robo-calls now... Nothing you can do, either. They say once you
vote, your number will be forever on their lists, and they will call you till
the cows... I mean chickens come home!

Hi Rosie.... I just wish you guys could find something to
    help your pain.

No, you are not being anal about those damn dogs! I love dogs too, but
those friends should know, that EVERYone does not live like they do.

We watch our friends dog sometimes... at least we did.... And we LOVE THEM,
it's just that their Cocker was an abused guy, and his stuff is HIS STUFF, and
he don't want no-one... getting NEAR it. If you walk past his "bed" and are too
close, he will chomp your leg off! AND his toys!

He has bit DH twice... The last time he did it, left a hole, and a lot of
    blood and swear words!

I didn't tell her...about this last time... but man, I don't know what to
do if they ask us again... She is like another Daughter to us... I guess I
could put his bed in another room.... or like down the next block!

He DID always try and jump up on our Day-bed... but when they come, I stand
pillows up on the edge, so he doesn't try it!

Peppermint! Sounds like you had a "normal" relationship
with your Mom. I do with my Daughter's too, but my Mom and Dad moved out of
    State when I was engaged...

In that case, it was probably the best thing that happened to me/us! Their
marriage was not that happy, and they weren't either... So we did it on our
    own.

Sorry you lost your Mom.... I lost both of my folks years ago... But I
have all the memories of MY family.... Ha!

Rosie... I would love a little cabin too! I've SEEN those
tiny houses, but one in the woods would be the best! Where IS it? Close to
your house? Oh, I see one hour away... Yeah, kids WOULD think it is boring,
but that's just because they don't want peace and quiet yet.... Ha!

We used to drive up towards Walden... They had the teeniest cabins in the
world! Wood stoves, no water, no nothin! We had to walk across the drive-way
to the bathroom/shower house... And we had to take our own plates, and cooking
stuff! AND bedding! We might as well have MOVED up there!

Actually, now that I look back on it, I think WTH was I THINKING!!!! But
we didn't have much money, and the price was right, and it WAS fun in those
days.... even with 2 little girls! We would go up with DH Brother, & SIL,
and some of our friends! We LAUGHED the whole time! Even cooked a prime-rib in
    that OVEN one time!

    Chevy.....hi there

    Spooks......morning :)

Sasssssss....sorry about all you are going through. Hope this next week gets brighter for you :)

Hi wren hi teka hi rosev......sorry for those I forgot ...hello

I hope I used correct words lol......my eyes constantly tear with this treatment. It makes the tear glands constrict, so the only way for the tears...fluid....to exit the body is through the eyes....everyone thinks I am crying al the time...not a good look. I went and bought slightly pink tinted sunglasses to semi cover the issue. I am now Bon jovis twin.......what can I say...I am cool with the shades. Orrrrr I look like a tool walking around indoors with them....who knows...who cares

Hubby going for a secon interview for a job on Sunday....yes Sunday...lol it looks like they are going to give him an offer. I certainly pray they do. He is working  2 part time jobs right now..this would be very nice... Toes and fingers crosed.

Side note about pain.....I was put on Effexor about a month ago cause I took a nose dive. So not me not to have fun and play no matter what. Couldn't get out of bed...it was a bad time. But since I have been in it, I have not had to take any pain meds...go figure...don't know why...just happy and going with it.

For everyone in pain....don't know if that would help or not if you went on it...question for the docs and pharmacists.

    Well...got to get to work.

    Have a great day everyone

    Hugs and prayers to all

Nettie, per my usual sphiel. A new onset anything should be evaluated by a doc. Tinnitus is a symptom. It is usually associated with hearing loss. But there are other causes. That's why the doc visit to be sure. Google" Mayo Clinic and tinnitus" and " Wiki and tinnitus" both are excellent teaching pages.

Still contemplating the bottom. What a PITA. Still can't sit much. Difficult to do computer laying sideways.

DBF is continuing to make matters worse. Not sure I see a return to the way I felt.

Hope this weekend is blessed and wonderful for all L&H&P's sassy ;)

Smaarty, floors look fabulous! I love wood floors, carpet looks good for ?? Not long...I do have new carpet in the basement. It does look really good. It's a month old with no one on it...lol...

Teka, thx for the Joe this am...

2nd timer, it never ends huh ? Such a difficult time for your folks & you, sending cyber hugs & best wishes.

I have to go back a page & read again....my memory stinks! I know Sas has a sore ass.....he he, not funny Sas, but it does rhyme. Hope it heals quickly. Maybe you & DBF need a 2 week break. Absence makes the something happen, or not.

    Hello to the newbies...

Chevy, are you brewing any interesting concoctions? we have not heard of your mystery meals in awhile.

Hi Sass! Wondered what you were doing! I didn't keep anyone straight....
I try and corrupt them every way possible.... Sometimes it works, and sometimes
they stay normal.... and keep posting.... Ha!

Sorry about your problems with whatever it is you HAVE! I think I would
try mixing 2 things together.... Fluocinonide, with Anti-fungal cream or
ointments. Then spread it on a couple times a day.

Your DBF PITA is always going to come back.... It's up to you to be strong
enough to look back and see everything that you don't like.... HIS things
won't change.... just YOU will change how you look at things.

Then one day, if you completely give it up, you will think WTH was I
THINKING? And you will be stronger... and your heart will mend... just like
    your butt!

Teka.... You have to stay to liven this place up!

Smaarty.... I LOVE your floor.... Mine is the Laminate, not the real
hard-wood.... but I love it! So easy to clean. We put a large rug under
the dining-room table, with the roller chairs..... otherwise we slide on those
chairs into next week! And I couldn't lean over to pick something up off the
floor, because they would roll backwards, and I fell on my knees twice! Ha!

I use Bona about once a week to keep the floors shining.... No, mine aren't
slippery either... Not even in stocking feet. And they aren't that cold...
Not like the kitchen floor commercial tiles that I put down... Keep an
absorbent rug, or towels by the door that comes into the house.... But don't let
the rug stay down wet.... get one with a rubberized backing.... like for the
    bathroom.

I sometimes put down a black towel to step onto.

Hi HIho! I'm making a pot of rice, then frying up some steak strips with
peppers. I'll fry the peppers first, then the steak strips. I'll put a little
flour on them, and fry them in a little bacon grease FAST....

I'm going out to rake up a few leaves now.... Such a beautiful day!

Made it home. Butt's okay for the moment. Chevy not all treatment fix things. Some are specific to a particular condition. But hope this is short lived and mine is related to the thyroid-----chevy it's a form off ECZEMA.

Chevy & Spookie, we had lunch at a bistro, outdoor seating. Took Schatzi.  DBF's Gf had her boxer. Boxer is < 1 y/o. decent manners, but he's still got the puppiness. Cute. Even as many dogs as DS was raised with, he still doesn't understand the full --meet & greet protocol. Then we went to a dog park. Neither of them understood the signals the dogs were giving. Uptight that Shats barked louded when her head was jumped on. ____It's okay she's setting limits. WATCH the tails, as long as they are wagging everything is okay.  Took DS a whole bunch of collectible stuff. All he did was grown. He said he was having a garage sale next weekend. I growled you better not sell anything I've given you(^RERO*&^%%. Example of DS's lake of understanding of STUFF. I one time gave him a Dorflinger crue-American Brilliant Cut, Made before 1906. He visits one weekend opens the trunk. There it is laying in the trunk.I took it back.

Di was cleaning the other day got near the dog dishes. Dini came and stood between her and the dishes and wouldn't move. She made a move for his collar, as I turned around." Di stop and step back NOW". His tail was wagging , but the message was that's mine. Glad I didn't have to find out what he might do if she 'd put her hand on his collar. Gave her a book on dog behavior.

DBF is a typically stupid male. Why are men sooooooooooooooo stupid? More limits will be set tonight. Did it before and he straightened up. Yes, he was very stupid in the beginning threw him out twice. Dirty clothes over the gate and clean clothes in a basket inside the gate. I did ask my counselor about that. It seemed odd behavior for me or anyone RE: the clean & dirty. He laughed "For you completely in character."

The weather is STUNNING 61*, doors open, not even socks on. ..... erhh in a nighty.

OMG it copied. WELL now you can see why I was simply aghast that this was rolling around in DS's trunk. It's not the exact piece, but very close. We(USA) were world renowned for our brilliant cut glass in the 1800's after Hawkes won at the Paris expos. I'll check and fill in. Other countries are still doing cut and leaded glass, but it stopped here in 1917.  WW1 all efforts went to the war. When the war stopped. for some reason American Brilliant Cut didn't resume. Elegant glass and pressed glass did, but not ABC glass. Never came across a reason. Sad we were world leaders at on time.

Characteristic of ABC glass produced before 1906, is the cuts are very sharp. In 1906, they started to use an acid bath that softened the edges. The feel of ABC glass pre 1906 and until the end in 1917 has a distinctive difference. As I was scrolling to find a similar cruet. I noticed that the prices on Ebay for ABC have come way down. My guess is that the youngins that are used to Target values, don't understand the quality.
