Congratulations Nettie, His has a wonderful Grandma

Nettie, How cute is he! Congrats!
I remember my PCP calling me after DX and asking how I was doing emotionally. Very sweet of her. I could have asked for a therapist, but didn't feel I needed anyone. You're right about this being my support group.

Hi Sas , yes, I saw your info and responded. Thank you.
Holeinone, Thank you for answering. It's really nice to know a few of us received a treatment team addressing both body and mind.0 -
Jwooooo- the other old place of antiques that I couldn't remember came up with this search- Ruby Lane. It's a mall Like Trocadero and Tias. All three taught me so much about identification. They are so good at Identification and they priced me right out of there markets. That's why I thrift. I can get for a pittance what the markets want.
LOL I bought today what I thought was an ashtray--a bunch on the third shelf high-I could tell the design was old--- priced high at the SPCA thrift--3.00$--interesting character --bought it. Thought was to give to sister-in-law
Next thrift store---been walking by this round butter dish for months. Hmmm pattern similar to ashtray. Walk around thy next aisle see a newly acquired round tray has the same pattern as the butter pattern. Take them. At the counter they realize the top and the plate match. We already made a discounted deal on the plate. They threw in the dome and left the plate the dome was with--not a match.
I get home and unwrap--------the ashtray isn't an ashtray........ it's the bottom of a domed butter dish. I have a domed butter dish and a torte plate of the same pattern................leaking eyes trying to find them..... keep looking at the piece, talking to it. Hoping it will guide me to a maker. LOL.... The ashtray was meant for dear sister in law LOL ----I gift allot-----but these may be keepers. Time will tell.
They other thing I found today were 5 Blown glass appertifs(sic). Exquisite. The bowl has a hammered technique. I recognized it because I have a serving bowl with a similar technique. The research on the bowl lead me to believe it was by Gustave, Horn, Hammered Wheel, 1920's.(Stickley) Tonight's search doesn't bring up the same thing. But the card I put in the bowl says it. I wouldn't have put that if I hadn't made some connection. Also, the cut on the bowl I identified as Lincoln's Drape. Anyways. I think the bowl belongs in a museum. I do remember the thrift price 7$--odd memory. These stems are incredibly delicate blown glass with the hammered effect of the bowl. Only pieces I've ever seen. These 5 were 50 cents a piece.
The beauty of glass ...............and the chase

Princess couldn't let mommy sleep in this morning. Every time I'd put her back on her kitty bed and try to go back to sleep, she would jump up on the bed, sit on my chest and give me kisses until I finally got up.0 -
And so you guys are all over here talking about Babies, and Grants and Glass-ware, and I'm like "oh damn I ran out of Sweet-n-low!
I MEAN to be more cognizant of what's going on around me, but sometimes I'm at a loss for words... mainly because I don't know jack about what you are talking about...
I DO know about babies... and Congratulations Nettie! I just hope you are always around the little ones! That was a most special time in my life, being around our baby Grand-sons! And getting to baby-sit them and take them places, and teach them to smoke.... and..... Just KIDDING! They grew up just magnificent, in SPITE of me.... Ha, haaaaaa!
I just feel bad when you guys are feeling bad, and don't have enough money or support to help.... but I'm sure someone around here will put you in touch with resources somewhere?
Sass, it's good that you are into collecting! Keeps your mind busy, and happy! We are at the stage now, where I'm trying to get rid of "stuff"... I find things around here, that I can't even remember what they ARE! I always saved everything, just like my Grandma and my Mom... and it stuck onto me. And then DH ..... (the 2 cheeto guy) came back with this huge teddy-bear yesterday! He was laying in the alley... Neighbors filled their Dumpster with EVERYthing... but he must have fallen out!
So I was just happy! Wiped out the misery of finding 2 cheeto's in his seat.... And I washed the big floppy bear! Now he is perfect...! Don't know what I will do with him, but just keep him hanging around I guess... So "Alley-bear" has a new home....

See? Doesn't take much to make ME happy!

Teka, that looks soooooo cozy! I remember my Grandma used to make coffee in her Percolator! It was always so good! And then my DAD made his so strong in San Francisco, you could take a teaspon of that coffee, and make a whole POT! My Brother thinks McDonalds has the best coffee....
And then there is me and my sweetened iced coffee Grande' with cream and 2 sweet-n-low...... at Starbucks....
0 -
Teka, here is a coffee for you.......
0 -
Mmmmmm Starbucks! ANY other kind of coffee reeks of the chemicals used to process it. it is not fit for drinking. Use it to clean sewer drains

I am having one right now! We went out awhile.... went to Sprouts, picked up 6 Grapefruit.... 2/1$ .... I cut them all up, and freeze them with sugar... So good!
DH got into his cheetos in the glove-box.... I watched him like a hawk.... I mean Owl... No cheetos left in the seat...
0 -
that's different about the grapefruit. How do you cut them (I only cut in half, eat with honey). After they're frozen, then what? Let thaw or broil?
0 -
for you Chevy

Maddy! Those are hysterical! HaaHaaaaaaaaaaah! I cut the grapefruit in half, then cut out the sections, squeeze out the juice, then divide all that up into freezer cups with sugar, and take them out when I want one.... I LOVE broiled grapefruit with sugar also!
AND, I really like Cheetos! Just not in my car seat...

The day I found smushed RASINS in the floor mat of my car was the day the grands were permanently banned from eating in my car. Not only was that a sticky mess, Kris is a Hoover, RASINS are toxic to dogs

Thanks everyone. And yes, cheetos are messy but I love them, so does my two year old GD, and she gets cheese EVERYWHERE.
Yes I've had two grands in less than two weeks
Daughter and her two live next door.
This is hubby with our sons two, they live only 15 minutes from me.
I am blessed.

Checking in.....looks like I'm posting on page 666....spoooooky!
Congrats Nettie on those gorgeous grandbabies!
I'm so far behind so I'm not even gonna try to catch up.
Had a weird day here though. DD's kittens were playing earlier and one of them bumped his head. He had a seizure and scared the living daylights out of us. He seems to be okay now, for a little while he was really out of it and hardly moving.
Supposed to be having a scan this coming weekend. I'm thinking about putting it off until after Christmas. It's a re-check on my chest from the last one that showed inflamed tissue.
anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. We went to look at Christmas lights tonight, we saw some really cool houses that have their lights set to music.
((hugs))

gm ladies. Wow. Seen 2nds roll call the other day. Are we growing ? Seems like it . Anyone know if this is true ? Kinda hard to keep up now. Here's my best shot :
Chevy - freezing grape fruits and them broiling them - never heard of that ? Do you put them in the freezer or just outside lol. Heck Ivan up for trying most anything that involves fruit and veggies. Recipe please.
SAS - all your glass pieces are beautiful. I know nothing about them but enjoy your lessons on it. Is there anything you don't know about ? Wow. Said it before saying it again your iq must be off the charts and still you hang with the likes of us. Thanks.
Blondie - quarantined for shingles or did I miss something ?
Nettie - wow 2 gb so close. That is awesome. Nothing like a helpless babe to get us up and going.
Holeinone - what a blessing to have dd have a masters in social work. Always love your posts. You are out there living life. So encouraging. Thanks !
Paw print - no emotional health help at my mo office. I mentioned it several times and have been givin several rx for it. No I want a counselor. Even asked specifically for it but got another rx. Grr. Going to try going to local cancer support group mon. Been saying that over a year. Guess it's time to get motivated and go.
Mommy2 - sounds like a great way to wake up with love. Aww so sweet.
2nd - hope your off to a great start this morning. No luck on the job hunt yet ? Praying still for the right job with great pay , benefits and hours.
