INSOMNIACS place to talk in the wee hours

You poor things... geezz such cold. We heard on the news that schools were cancelled in the upper midwest. I would worry about frozen pipes! I lived 5 years in Rochester NY and I remember the lake effect snow and bitterly cold temps.
My house is at 68 degrees! We have been lucky to hit 48-50 during the day. It is so foggy and the fog so close to the ground that we could hardly see to walk the dogs tonight. It's like a Sherlock Holmes movie in London ... spooky! Stay warm. I like the cat Mags. Hugs to everyone having pain, head aches, depression and difficulties. Holeinone- hope he is wrong on the films.

Got woke up a little early thanks to Princess. The little "angel" in the process of returning to her kitty bed after getting in under the covers between me and her daddy, hit the button to turn the radio on the alarm clock on and woke the house up! Had to turn the light on to find the off button for the radio!

Dutchie! Good one! That is sooooo true someimes! When I had to walk over to feed the chickens for my neighbors, I wore one of those masks... That icy damp cold even hurts your EYES!
And now what's THIS???? Sassy ditches class like for a WEEK, then comes back all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and writes a whole dissertation on ALL of us and NAILS it? I don't know how she does it. She must take notes... She goes off to some Island, with pen and pad, and that phone, and sits and drinks Margarita's while storing all this stuff about us..... THEN she comes back and tells us stuff even EYE have forgotten!
And the only way I can get Cammi to pop in is to raise 3 kinds of hell about her not even PEEKING in! That girls is just off in her own world. She sits in bed in her flannel pajamas with her KatyKat, and whines because she is working her arse off. Now how can anyone be "working" ..... in bed???? Oh wait never mind.... whatever.
Now she is probably in the throes of Winter... like the rest of us are, ceptin' for Spookie and Sass and who else? I can't even pole-dance lately! I mean it's hard enough just to WALK with boots on! But in ONE day, almost all that snow was gone! I swear! It got up to 60 degrees, and POOF!
Then yesterday was the ice storm... Today is supposed to be better...I guess we can take ANYthing now....
HiHO! Damn you SCARED me girl! You are supposed to give GOOD news first, THEN what those dinks told you! I'm sorry your heart just dropped..... I know how that is....but glad you are okay... I would NOT like a shoulder problem! Leg was not good, but how would you do your HAIR and face? That would be the worst..... I mean WORST.
Morning Rosie and all you guys on the last page, because now I can't remember WHO.... except Sass .... her with her play-by-play on each of us, and nailing it!

Thanks for the encouragement SAS. Your the best.
Still tear eyed today. Hard to be happy and be in so much pain. Hard to see family trying to deal with it. Ugh. Today is a new day. Surely these years gotta stop soon. If not ism going outside where it's 8 degrees. Bet that freezes the tears to stop.
Checking in to see how everyone else is doing.
Hootie hoo

PattyP.....Big hugs, wish we could sit, drink tea and cry & giggle. It must be heartbreaking watching your precious boys, process all of this. Thinking of you, hoping you get some relief from the pain.
Tang, I sent Susan a Xmas card, snail mail....I got a PM from her a cople of months ago. I had PM her & she responded. She is struggling with chemo & pain.
Dutchie, beautiful photo. I will try to find one of me in 1968. I was 13 years young,
My post yesterday was poorly written. Our power went off, for over an hour. That never happens. I was trying to post the lamps & rambling about my scare on Monday. I am fine, think the ortho guy was trying to make sense of my chewed up shoulder joint. If I don't do anything, it does not hurt. That is impossible. Washing my hair, every little chore causes pain, so time to get it worked on.
Hello to all.....

Goats, if you find this place, let me know. I wanna go too

Hi Pattypeppermint,
It's 15 degrees here but I live on the lake and the winds are blowing about 20 mph. The wind chill is bitter today, but the sun is shining and the sky is bright blue! It's pretty over the ice on the lake.
I hope you feel a little better. When I melt down I try to indulge in things that make me happy. A bubble bath, new nail polish, fresh baked cookies, basically anything that Works! Take Care!

HIO, I hear ya on the shoulder pain! OMD! Got a call back this morning from RO and we have a plan. Next week I will have the nerve block on Wednesday and see her Thursday morning for a practice run. If all goes well she will transfer me to a facility near me for the nerve blocks. In the meantime, she has referred me to their PT facility (it's in the same building) to try to loosen up the muscles. Hopefully the combination of tx will give me the ability to tolerate the rads. I told DH I wouldn't even be doing this if he hadn't been insistent, I would have just blown it off, since I am now NED.
And this cold makes me just ache all over, my hands are so stiff.
I got some good news this morning, my son PMed me that he may be coming to town for work for a couple of days at the end of the month. Haven't seen him since before surgery. At least I have peach fuzz now. He's mostly bald (my gift to him from my bald dad). It will be good to get a hug.
Poor Florida gals! My son said it got down to 42 last night on the Space Coast. Very cold for them. It was 13 here when I got up. 19 now.
Pepper, hugs. I can't imagine what you're going through. My son lost his adoptive mother to cancer just days after I told him of mine. When I asked him what I could do, his response was, Live. But he is in his 40's. (45 on February 8.) But my sister's husband lost his battle with cancer when their kids were 6 and 9. It wasn't easy for anyone. But my DH filled in as Dad for them, and they are now int their 20's and have survived. I know this is hard. But you are fighting, and they will know that. That's important.

Patty, sorry, what are you taking for pain meds? are you taking them on a scheduled basis or as needed? Who have you talked to about pain control? Managing pain is a major function in managing depression.Chevy silly girl
I learned how to do split screens with windows 8.1. You can do it too
Open a browser. Google Chrome --any of them. Go to BCO, log in as usual >>insomnia page. Move cursor to top of screen. Click. It'll reduce it a bit. Move cursor to each side and drag edge to the side. Then do the same to the other side, move it to the middle. Leave window there..Then
Open another browser. Go to BCO>>insomnia page. It'll cover the whole screen. Click on the top with cursor. It'll reduce it a bit. Move edges to opposite side of the first screen.
You then have two screens/windows/browsers. I read on the left screen and write on the right. When you want to move the page down to read, click cursor on the left screen. When you want to write move back to other screen and click.
You can minimize these and reopen at will. They will reopen to the same position until you move them. Sometimes I'll have a bunch of browsers open if I'm researching and writing, minimizing and maximizing as needed.

Sass, I can't do it with aol.... Instead, most of the time, I move this screen over, then go to "write" and type what I want to highlight, copy and paste here.... but sometimes I just start typing here..... and realize that if I DO go back, this one is lost...
When I do like you say, one covers up the other....

Okay.... never mind.... I see what you do, but it is easier to type on a fresh "write" and paste it here.... There, also, it uses spell-check... which it doesn't here on AOL.... but it does on Chrome.
And so I just have to ask.... WHO is this Charlie guy? Are you speaking in code again?

Alright it is officially cold now. I just received a "tweet" about snow showers in Jacksonville FL. Hunker down. Spookie stay warm

Je Suis Charlie!!!!
Chevy do you not watch the news??? I am Charlie - "We are Charlie" ---- ie; freedom of expression, unafraid of reprisal! Stand with the French! The non Islamic world will not be silenced by bullying and terrorism. Pen and ink will rise again!
It is a balmy 48 degrees here and trying to be sunny. It is warmer in Oregon than Jacksonville and I am flying there in 10 days... ugh.. sigh.. no justice.

Sas is MUCH closer to Jax than I am!!!!!! Brrrrr

Hi Spookiesmom- I will drive down to Sarasota after I am done in Jax so maybe we can hook up? Don't know what is planned yet. Hope the cold spell is finished by then.

Je suis Charlie. I think the world is done with the terrorism. I think the free world will not let this go. Not that all previous attacks weren't barbaric. This ones different. All free peoples will join together now in a way that hasn't happened since fighting the Natzi's or the Japanese in WWII. With 911 it was the USA. Many other countries may have supported us, but saw us as being to handle it on our own. Other countries had individual events that caused them to respond to there own countries needs. The binding of this event is world freedom of expression. The core to democracy. This will be the beginning of the end for radical Islamists.

To all ---there's a very happy surprise coming, but it's a secret till it happens
Rose lets meet in Tampa for lunch. I'm going to Moffitt around the time you will be going from Jax to Sarasota. There are some great restaurants in Tampa. It's easy for Spookie and my son lives in Tampa.
Rose once we figure a visit date, I'll make my Moffitt appointment

Sounds like a plan!!! Sas, suggestions? Are you getting snowed on
