I gotta go back a few and read, but had to share my lemon crop! this is the first time we've had a harvest like this. 1st year- nada, 2nd and 3rd- 1 lemon, last year I think we had 3. This year we hit the jackpot! Time for lemon tarts and lemoncello!

JWoo - your lemons are beautiful!
A bowl of lemons on my kitchen counter just makes me happy!

Oh damn! That's RIGHT! Okay, on the last page, I was commenting on your hair Smarty! And said I think it is beautiful! I feel better with longer hair too, but once in awhile I get a whim, and get the scissors out and just start cutting!...
I've always done my own hair... because then I can't blame anyone but myself... I've had it done 4 times in my life... and came home and did it all over...
I DID used to do hair... My neighbor's, relations, Avon Lady, etc. But I only charged $1.... And everyone got the same hair-do...

I almost took a job styling wigs, but I only wanted to do the hair-style that I knew... I got the job, but then called back, and said I found another part-time job with Pepsi which was better...
Anyway, I had this long post on the 15th, and I went to another page, and did not hit submit, so then it was gone... !!! I thought OWTH!!! So I quit.
And Sassy, you were falling apart.. bit by bit, but now you are all checked out, and waiting for results? And lunching with your friends! That is the best!
Rosie, I ALSO said, that was a great story about that guy who wanted to stay in the Hospital! Man, I did everything I COULD to get out of there... 3 nights and I was going to beat feet if they didn't release me! I just wanted to be home with DH, and be all normal... as much as I could anyway.
I also posted that link... with the BALL... to my Brother's FB! He used to play the Marimba, and that reminded me so much of him, and when we were kids.
Morning Enerva, Spookers and Blessings! Teka, Will we ever run out of "owls"? Ha! Everytime I see one somewhere, I post it!
4444444444444! About TIME! Glad you are loving your "fin".... I know you were having so much trouble with it!
Yes Rosie.... You have to have someone at home to help... DH was so sweet... even helped me lift my leg onto the bed.... I can't believe I was THAT laid up! But I cooked and walked around like I knew what I was doing! Hah! I haven't heard "bloody-murder" in a long time! Haaaahaaa!
LittlePaws... Your TEST sounds like it was done on the MOON! How DARE those people! Sounds like someone didn't know what they were doing!
How is Annie?
Hi Beachbum! And Tang! Man, I don't know where you guys are going to get these MRI's! Somewhere like Hank's Auto Body??? I thought it was bad just getting a Mammogram! Those things squeeze hard, you can't even scream! It takes your breath away, literally! Last time I told her DAMN that hurt~! And she said, we just have to get that whole SIDE of your breast... Talk about "bloody-murder!"
Morning Susan! Yes, we all need quiet time... to ourselves... You have a "top 5"??? Hah! That's funny!
Spookie! Yikes! So your surgeon guy was a little miffed? I don't know what you are talking about, with that exam, but glad your surgeon got it straightened out.
Hi Peppermint! You were talking to Blondie... We just gotta get the ball rolling somehow with her... to get things straightened out...!
Okay Sass... I have been trying off and on for 3 days to get that Tablet going. Well it will NOT recognize my wi-fi connection from my modem from the phone co. going to my computer! After 1 hour the LAST time with them, we both gave up.
I finally took it with me to Starbucks, where in 2 minutes I was connected! Then at the Casino, I tried again... Same thing! So the damn thing will work, but not here at home.
Now that's the whole POINT! To get it to work here at home! But I just love my big-screen monitor, my key-board, and how easy it is to get online with THIS! So I don't NEED no Tablet! It's going back to Janie... It needs another home where someone will appreciate it... Not here.
And funny story Sass! Hah! I got the biggest kick out of DH last night... We were watching something stupid on TV, and he saw this commercial about Lysol spray... So he repeats part of it, and waves his hand around in the air like he is spraying SOMETHING, and I just CRACK UP! I said "What did you just say?" And he says "We need Lysol, so we can spray it, on all of our furniture, and stuff".... Well, I LOST it! He is spraying this imaginary CAN of Lysol, and I am giggling and falling over, and laughing so hard, looking at that look on his face, then HE laughs, and I just said OH STOP!! I laughed so hard, and giggled, and you know what it's like when you get tickled and can't stop? I started wheezing! I could not LOOK at him without laughing! I went and got the Inhaler, and would NOT look at him again! Just WATCH him say something in Lysol talk! But it was fun.
Okay.... Sass is thrifting and glassing, and Rosie has the big D... Your Daughter sounds so sad Rosie! Aren't you like 3 hours from Sass?
Okay, last page.... and LEMONS! I love that JWOW~! You have LEMONS! They are gorgeous!
So Hi Blondie... wherever you are! Hope you are doing better.... !
And morning Jazzy! Talk to y'all later! xoxo

J Woo- what beautiful lemons and congrats on a beautiful bounty! My sister has a lemon tree in her yard in CA, and gets these huge lemons on it, which I enjoy when I visit. Nothing like fruit straight from the source......
I got a nice PM from Sas welcoming me back to this thread. Some of you may remember me here from before, and I dropped off awhile back, as it is a very busy thread and with working and all the rest I do, I could not keep up! I will give it another try as I know many friends here from other threads and want to keep up on all things Blondie too!
Wishing you all a lovely Saturday and a long weekend if you work and get the holiday on Monday off too!

Chevy, I have an iPod , it was bought for me by my cuz, so I won't complain to much. It updates all the time and I have to relearn stuff...not easy for this brain. Right now I cany get pics from Pinterest moved to my photo gallery to post here. I used to love posting pics. Gotta wait for the kid to come home. Prob the only thing she knows more than me...ha ha. Font we always tell are kids we know everything.....then came the technology age..darn them. Took me a few minutes to catch on to the Lysol the time. Lol
It's 37 here in Chicago. Picnic anyone ??
Got a massage last night cause of all over pain....had some edema from last chemo...ohhhhh 22 pounds worth..yuck...never been this weight. Anyway, felt awesome after massage. Last night, peed every half hour, a ton each time. Must have got that water moving out of my cells!!! I won't tell my clients today I didn't sleep, ha ha. I will just draw my eyebrows in a little higher with the arc, should make me look more awake. Lo

Susan- glad to hear you got a massage and it helped to move excess fluid out. I have water retention from the AIs and noticed after my massage yesterday, the same de-watering occurred.
I hope you feel better and lighter today!

Chevy, did the phone guy get you to enter a password for your wifi? You go to Settings, click on Wifi, click on your wifi signal, then it should ask for a WEP or WPA code. That code is a long string of letters and numbers and is found on your router. It is case-sensitive, so enter it exactly. Then you should be connected. Also, you only have to do this once.
0 -
I KNOW! I did this about 5 times with Qwest... and it would always say something about "not being able to connect." Then the guy gave me a different "Qwest7486" Changed it to Qwest "7488"... Still nothing...
Yes, the password is my phone number, and it would take it, but then not stay connected. I don't have a router, just the modem from Qwest, which SAYS wi-fi, but it's just kidding!
It only took a second when I was at Starbucks!... My Dell modem is connected to the modem from Qwest.... and I don't have any problems with the computer... I'm baffled... but thanks....
Hi Jazzy! glad you are here!

"says it's wifi but just kidding " LMBO!

Teka- thank you and stay warm my friend, that is TOO cold for anyone! I hope you have something warm coffee, tea or a hot toddy to keep you toasty.
Do you have a fireplace too?

Chevy, our password is 16 letters...numbers long. It came from Comcast. The numbers..letters I think our on our router. We didn't make them up. Used to a few years ago...but it changed for some reason. Not smart enough to know why....and maybe you already know that...you are more techy than me
0 -
Yes, it has a PW on the bottom of the modem, and we even tried that one! But it still would not take it.... even with the cord plugged directly into the usb port in the modem, and to the tablet! I might try it once more....just for grins.... THEN if it doesn't work, it is being boxed up, and given right back to the kid who gave it to me, to cause me to go nuts.

Smaarty,
Had skin issues that prevented the surgery til now. The plastic surgeon is very cautious and wouldn't do the surgery until she was sure there would be no complications.

Hi, all - Sassy invited me to stop in for a cuppa, so here I am, shyly. I see some familiar names in addition to Sassy. Rosevalley, I'm an Oregonian, also; a native, in fact.
I'm more likely to read than to post late at night so you may not see a lot of activity from me but I appreciate the invitation to hang out with all of you.
Enjoy your weekend. It's too soggy and wet here for anything. I don't even want to go out for the mail so will pretend to address the housework while actually puttering on the computer.
0 -
Hi Hopeful- I am pretending to do housework too while being mostly lazy today. But alas, I am going out to the gym soon.
0 -
Well, the gym is something to look forward to. Now grocery shopping and running errands - that's another story.

Enjoy your workout, especially since pretending to do housework doesn't really get the heart pumping.
What part of NM are you in? I've got a SIL in Santa Flaky (who has no idea I have cancer)

Jazzy! Good to see you!!! Stick around!!!
Welcome in Hopeful! This thread goes 24/7, jump in any time. When Ms Earlybird wakes up, she will give you a new name. She always does!!!!
0 -
Hopeful- I live in Albuquerque. Santa Fe definitely has it's own unique culture!
Sorry about your SIL, not a question any of us can answer, right?
Spookie- hi and good to see you here too. Will try to stick around, this thread seems to be less busy than when I was here before, so I think I can keep up!
I was pretty low energy today, but that is okay too. I had nothing big planned for today and needed to slow down. This home reno stuff is kicking my butt.....

Sassy- I am not tough... plenty of times I got all teary eyed on the floor.I just don't understand why my 13 year old has these goofy notions when I just got back from Florida in November. She was fine then, now she's afraid I will croak. Kids! Never a dull moment because they keep you guessing. Dad will spend more time with her. I will text her.
Welcome Hopeful- a native eh? Does the rain and greyness bother you? It drives me crazy , wilt in November and mope until April. Love the summers, September and spring , April- June is just spectacular! I have my yard just awash in rhodies, azaleas, irises, peonies and Lilacs. I can hardly get enough of the rhodies and azaleas in Oregon, no place grows them prettier ... well Washington does a good job, same as Oregon climate wise.
Tekka- we have a space heater in the bedroom and my 17 year old terrier curls up one one side and my toothless 12 year old grey cat curls up on the other side. There will be growls and hissing if anyone infringes on turf on "their side" of the space heater. Too funny! They need their ol'bones warmed.
Hi to everyone Blondie and Patty may you both be feeling better, Chevy try decaf! To all I missed be well, sleep and have fun. Woo your lemons are BEAUTIFUL and I am sure full of flavor right off the tree. Lucky you.

Jazzy - Yes, ABQ's a pretty different place from Santa Fe. I like NM, although I have't been there in a long time. I have nice memories of it. I probably wouldn't recognize ABQ anymore...
What kind of project/s are you doing on your home?0 -
Hopeful- I had the entire house repainted on the inside, and putting in hard wood floors to replace the original carpeting. I did the first phase (about 1/2 the house) last summer and now am finishing it. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms got repainted this past week, and this Monday, they finish the hardwood flooring in the two bedrooms and the hallway in between.
After Wed, I should be done with the last of it and then will be putting the bedrooms back together (bathrooms mostly done already). It has been a lot of work, but also fun too. The house has a whole new look!
And a whole lot of de-cluttering to do too now too, as I finish things up. Purge, baby, purge!
0 -
That sounds great once it's done but extremely disruptive, too. I can imagine you'll be glad to wrap it up. I'll bet you're enjoying the hardwoods, although I find it easier in some ways to take care of carpet than hardwoods. What kind of wood did you use? We have very light maple that has darkened a bit over the years. Sometimes I think about having it stripped and bleached but I can't begin to imagine what a pain that would be.
And yes, tis the season to clean out closets and drawers and the cellar. I can't die until I do the latter - my husband would never forgive me that legacy and there's probably some ring of purgatory where you clear closets until your soul is spotless...0 -
Hopeful- my floors are maple, called old mill maple and have an antique look. Here is photo in the Master BR of it from last year.

The newer hardwood floors don't need as much maintenance as the older ones (I had those when I lived back east in at least one house). My big concern is not having the cleaning people (who only come in once a month now) do something to them. The guys I bought the wood from told me to watch out for damaging products they may use. One day I turned my head and found one of them mopping them and said "nooooo!" Fortunately, no damage but I tell them every time now they come in, only dry mop the house.
I love hardwood here, and it has really changed the look in my house. The white carpeting that went in when the house was built in 2004 was trashed and hope to keep my house more dust free now. A couple rooms got away from me with all that went down.
Ha, the closets are also getting cleared out too. What a nightmare those are. The locale charities are going to make out this next month!

Here's what I worked on most of today.
Also finished this little guy. It's a paper weight or pin cushion.

Now going to make a dress with that peacock fabric.

Very pretty! Love the setee? Too! I have laminate all over, hardwood is out of range for me. But soooo much easier care than carpet. I'll never have carpet again

Ok Ms busy girl! Trying to make this slug feel like a lazier slug? LOL
