so true SMAARTY, also the room would never heat up from the steam, cause it is the size of a small house

  • good morning ladies.

Blondie - great to see you posting. Hoping your ankle heals quickly. Are you comfy where you are at ?

Bbl gotta go back and play catchup to see what y'all been up to. Howdy to our newbies and returning sisters.

Later today I have my last appt with my mo of over 12 years who is retiring. Boo hoo. Probably be a sob fest.

Smaarty, I've seen them advertised with heated seats (free heated seats). I couldn't imagine why one needed a heated seat. Well. I learned something important from you this morning. LOL. When they were offering free heated seats, I knew they had to be priced outrageously. I forgot the usual value of the heated seat, but it was significant.

I really like your owls. Thanks for posting the link. I hope to give it a try.

Patty, good luck with your appointment. Give hugs. I need to write a thank you to my old oncologist, but the card just sits on the table and pushed around. Maybe I will do that today.

I hope you feel ok today Chevy. I know I've gotten old now that I am afraid of falling. Of course, every time I fall, I break something -- and I am talking about breaking me, not the thing I fall on. I have learned to be very careful. Stay ahead of the pain and inflammation with ibuprofen. I've only used that styptic powder for my birds, and it does work for them. So hubby was just taking good care of his pretty bird.

Pain is easing up a little, thank you God. I got a very poor night sleep despite taking pain meds and sleep meds every time I woke up. I went to bed not feeling well. I definitely feel my cancer. I don't know if I could be tougher about it, but for now, this is how it is. I even worried that I had broken a rib while trying to get comfortable in bed. I guess it will be very good for me to see the doctor again. I scheduled my bloodwork for next week. I see the doc the following week. I assume she will change my treatment. Even though a lot of cancer responded well or as stable, new mets are in new bones.Take care all. Send out positive vibes that I get to Hopewell for a yoga and possibly a relaxation class after it. After that I would like to do a bit more work on my desktop. Maybe I will hook up the old drive and while I am in there again I can check the memory. If it can use some more memory, I'll install that. I'm very happy to have my Adobe CS4 and OS on a SSD.

Oh MAN! I knew THAT was coming! Haaaaaah! See, when you posted that, she ran out to take that picture... like she runs out in her flannel night-gown to take one of her thermometer! I remembered she has that cute little car thing... but YOU must have forgotten! So you almost done DID it!

Yes, it takes awhile to learn all those "things" those cars come with! My seat also "pumps" UP higher, tilts forward, and slides back and forth.

And I can see over the wheel... And YES, that Cruz has a Gazillion lights that come on, and thankfully most of them go OFF...

Rosie and Enerva, WE had frogs too! And Newts that lived in the tank, that would snip at the fishes tails! ONE time I bought this "cleaning" fish! And that Plecostamus thing finally crawled out of the bowl, because I had it sitting on the stove to take BACK to the Pet Shop, and he climbed out, and down under the stove burners, and he met his demise THERE! I didn't see him till morning.. And he was GONE! Had to take the stove apart... Probably trying to get back to the Pet shop on his own!

Spookie! WE ALL LOVE YOUR CAR!!!!!!!!!!! People probably think you painted it the same color as all your Gecko's! No wait! What is that commercial with that little guy?? YOU know!

That's why all those little lizards are that color, because they ALSO love your car, and hang around on it... Endlessly! Now go take a picture of your thermometer!

Oh wait! I got my hearing aids at Costco also! And I DO like them! She said they last about 5-6 years, and they don't make that "Veras 9" anymore. She said they are always improving them....

I've had these for almost 4 years now! I just hate that SCREECHING when I get "close" to something... like reaching in the fridge. Wakes you right UP!

I drove a rental car around San Francisco one time... Drove the highways down to SOME town, for a Coors Distributor program... EVERY driver in California drives with their left blinker on! You don't know whether to pass or stay! Damndest thing I ever saw!

I didn't get lost though... Ha! So you have a Chevy Station Wagon??? A "Woody"???? Just kidding.... How fast do they go? Like 45??? Hah! I'm such a brat!

Those girls will make you sit in the outer-room, when they meet you for lunch! You had better be-have! Take a water-pistol.... that should tame them down a little.

Geez, I wish I was with you guys! I could come driving up in a new rental 2015 RED Mustang convertible!

    image

Spookie, you say your seats lay down? And so what's THAT for missy? Same as when we were kids? Oh???? You're not talking now????

Smarty, those Owls are just darling! So cute all in a cluster like that... A swarm... A pride.... A group... A whole mess of them!

And that dress? I'ts beautiful Smarty!

Hi Ho! You little Dickens! You went and found that picture of me in the shoe-tub! Hah!

And can you imagine going to the bathroom at the same time your HUSBAND does?? What is that toilet thing without a seat thing? You supposed to walk around carrying your own SEAT?

Oh Smarty! That's RIGHT? You could climb over the side, and then reach in with head under water, washing your hair at the same time, and pull the plug. Guess we fixed THAT problem.

We need rubber treads on THAT floor though... Maybe there is a way to drain the tub with your toes? Or call the fire department... Those guys can fix anything!

Dunes!!! You talking about heated seats in the bathroom or in the CAR??

I know some Hoity-toits have heated seats... But mine doesn't! You mean on the toilet?

If you see a cord going to your seat, you know it has a warmer.... Ha!

I sat on one when me and my gal-friend stayed over-night in Manitou Springs in this hotel! It was soooooo luxurious! Even had a real orchid plant on the table! AND the bathroom was huge! Anita took a bubble bath in that tub, and when I went to see what she was doing, all I could see was her HEAD!!! Ha, ha! Bubbles everywhere! But the toilet seat was heated! Damndest thing I ever heard of!

I hope you can get to feeling better Dunes... And I have no idea what a CS4, OS, and SSD is.... You must be very tech savy! That means smart!

    Spookie-sent you a pm.

Poor Patty- everyone has to retire eventually! Hope you can say your goodbyes and find a new provider you like as well.

Dunes! I am one of the rare ones you'll find who not only knows what CS4, OS, and SSD are, but have actually used them! And still have them installed, though I'm retired now. I was a graphic artist, owned my own company, 18 years, did all kinds of stuff, even taught desktop publishing in Vo-tech and for companies and even government agencies. Settled down to doing 4-color catalogs for a foodservice company, hundreds of pages, even several languages. After I retired I did sermon slides for a small church. Here's one:

Disgusted with the whole "Deflate"gate that is surrounding the Patriots. Sounds to me like its nothing but fans of the Colts who have a case of the sour grapes because the Colts lost to the Patriots. Super Bowl is going to hard for me this year as I do like both teams.

Mommy- I just heard about deflate-gate, what is up with that? Sour grapes is right. I am not into football, but will say I hope the Patriots win because I am originally from NE.

Mags- I love the ducks in a row picture.

We are rolling along here with my home improvement- new hard wood floors in the spare bedrooms. One room done, the other will be finished by noon. They are going to plan to leave and come back mid afternoon which frees me up too, but if the floors are not set (I personally think they need longer than a few hours to set), they will come back to finish tomorrow. Then the painter returns for touch ups and I can clean up this mess here!

OMG again I can't catch up----so just bear with me or is it bare, or is that naked--whatever , it's really not important cuz Chevy will only add to it.

Welcome anyone new and I'm sorry or all that's hurting--this is all crap.

Oh I like the way Chevy gives out advice drink tea--but she forgets to tell u what to add to that tea, like her own whiskey, that's how she warms up--Jeez Chevy I always have to rewrite what u say, u leave the good parts out.

I had Champagne and peach-mango drinks the other nite--yummy--u can drink a few o hose even with ice and it warms u up, just like the Bailey's and coffee I had for breckfast, a couple of cups o that and my old bones feel better--the hell with the pain meds

Mags I always like the way u'r Dr.s come up with things to do for u. Well u know they're thinking.

And all the talk of cold well we're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave--oh I go of on a tangent--It's almost 30 hear but a little rain snow, ice thing going on. That's baad I think. but since my job doesn't take me out of my bedroom I can't complain, I just like to. (shut up Chevy). .

OK just poopin in to say Hi and hope everyone feels better and has a good week.

    Hello to all

Oh so here comes little Cammi! I think the cold is reaching her brain.... Cams, I was talking about all the fragrances I bought at the Bath & Body Shop the last 2 times (On the older womens thread.....) I walked past there! I had 75% off! I mean OFF! I mean THEY did! So I bought tons of body washes, and spray on fragrances, and creams! THAT way you can use ONE fragrance to SHOWER with, and another to SHAMPOO with, and then ANOTHER one to spray on, and THEN, the CREAMS are just decadent!

You could smell me clear down the block.... out to the ALLEY! I mean, I had such an "AIR" about me.... So then I then realized some people are allergic to all that sweet-smelling stuff, and get sick or miffed when around a whole Hawaiian orchard of blossoms! So I can just tell YOU this! YOU and I must talk about our shower experiences. And our drowning ourselves in sweet-smelling stuff! Geez, I love that stuff! I hide them so no-one else will either find them or use them!

You still take showers? I just wondered, because I/WE haven't heard! I mean you USED to! I take showers, then fall out of the tub.... guess you missed that one... It wasn't bad.... the Hospital staff was right on top of all the things I broke..... I have a full-body cast now.... but don't worry.... I can type with one finger.... which is more than.... Oh never mind.

Jazzy and Mom2.... I heard Kelly and Michael talking about the de-flated balls.... Only THEY were just stupid. Yes.... sounds like someone is just jealous.

The Bronco's blew it yet again.... Now John, and Gary are talking about how they are going to take over the world.... and then play a good game of foot-ball.

Mags, generally, when there is such destruction on one joint, the opposite side joint shows some destruction. Trauma is an easy answer, but you deny trauma. Not even as a kid? Teenager? No falls ever? Work, did your work cause you to use that shoulder any differently than the other? Lifting, pushing, pulling? Sports that cause the use of one arm over the other? Repetitive use injuries can cause lopsided presentations. Next thought. Did you have problems before BC sx? Was your shoulder a problem after sx? Was it frozen? How long. Next thought. Do you sleep on that shoulder? How long? Life long? How hard was the bed? The sleeping thing would take years to make a difference. People tend to sleep on one side or the other. New thought. Do you carry a shoulder strap purse? Life long? Heavy? Do you have a combination of all the above?

The presentation is so curious, I called my old orthopedist and left a message. Hopefully , They call back.

Smarrty, beautiful dress. Are you making the next dress with the peacock material in the same way? Then you would be a dragon fly and a peacock ready to fly away. How about butterflies and angels?

HI1 did you see the last glass? Nice tubs LOL. OMD the faucet on the shoe seems to be up at the top of the heel. This could be a water feature;)

The walk-in Just as Smarty said cold until it fills. One company (or more) were designing a rapid emptying process to avoid chills after bath.

Patty, It's like saying goodbye to family. On to a new adventure though :)

Dunes did you have a chance to read the suggestions I made for PattyP.  How hard is your bed?

Just this weekend I went to my cousins. There bed beat me up very bad. Couldn't wait to get back to my memory foam. It's taken several days to recover.

Chevy after I get through finding new homeowners insurance. You have me convinced that maybe things have gotten to the point that aides will work. I will start looking. Love the mustang. Spookie & I look so cute. Rosie shouldn't miss us. That garden is a dream oasis.

Mags and dunes I started a thread on Tech stuff. Could you share some of your knowledge for us untechies.

Mommy define "deflate gate" Missed it all.

Jazzy Yay almost done. After pics when done :)

Cami just poopin back to you who.

See chevy all you have to have is a little nudge from Cami and off you go............

Sass! You mean hearing aids? Or aids to help around the house.... I'm just "lost" here....

If you mean Hearing Aids.... Costco has better deals than aids from your ENT's! And better service. All hearing aid tests are pretty general.... Some places do a LOT of things you don't really need... But Costco is always there, and have good plans.

Now are you talking about aids for around the house? Like bars, ... or help navigating around? Or even a parking placard? If you have trouble walking or getting around, you CAN ask your Doctor for a paper, then take it to Motor Vehicle, and it is easy to get one!

I prefer calling the Paramedics, or Fire Department guys for help though..... They are soooooooooo helpful!

Sas- "Deflate"gate is what the news media is calling the allegations that the Patriots used footballs that were underinflated Sunday to give them an advantage to win over the Colts.

The whole thing is stupid and sounds to me like everyone is trying to say that the Patriots can't win without cheating. They are perennial targets of cheating allegations ever since the Jets cried and said that the Patriots videotaped their hand signals in a game once.

Spookie, A group here is offering a super bowl package that includes air fare, hotel for 3 nights, a couple of fan parties and upper seats. It's only 5,800 per person. I cannot imagine paying 15,000 to attend a game (extra $ is for food and drinks). The only fun game to watch is 1st & 2nd grade soccer. Before they figure out which goal is theirs.
