Tang so happy to see you, up date us. Catch up where you can , but if you can't we would love to know how you are chickie poo0 -
Off to bed, 1 am

3 pages to catch up. Don't you guys ever sleep?? I'll post some tomorrow, long day, show is over, they sold out of books and patterns. Yeah! Going to bed
0 -
They NEVER sleep Smarty..... They are up all day, just cavorting around and then when it comes time for bed, they say "NOPE" ! Gotta cavort some more!
Okay Sass... Yes, I remember buying forms to fill out about 20 years ago.... And quite simple to fill out... but if you take them to the bank, or your notary, they help you, and then notarize it, and then mine are all legal! The latest form WAS from the City,.... I downloaded it, filled it out..... took it to my Credit Union, and we signed in front of her, and mailed it in. Made a check out for $11 for the recording fee.
We made copies first.... THEN the City sent me back the original... And Sheri will get the tax statement every year, instead of us.... but we will then send it in. It really wasn't/isn't that big of a hassle.... Neither for rmy Grandma's business, nor my folks.... Because they had it all taken care of first.
Another thing.... If you have a large family, or those who disagree on EVERYthing, and if someone is in dire need of decisions to be made, if you have 2 or more people fighting tooth & nail over what should happen to you if there are decisions to be made for your care, you might be in a BIG pickle if your relatives are pulling you ONE way, and the others want THIS for you.
This happened with my FIL.... no directives... no nothing... No DPOA.. No Living Will.... So one Son wanted him to be saved come hell or high water... The other two knew just how badly things were going... This man was battling lung cancer, liver cancer, and probably would have sat straight up if someone offered him a beer!
So if just ONE wants that feeding tube, that life support system goes into place.... Even though there is a coma, and bodily functions have shut down. Then you watch absolutely nothing taking place... The person is trying to just let go, but all the proper procedures for life-support are taking place. And they keep the person alive. But it happens anyway... There is only so much intervention that will work for awhile, then it's done.....
We had a choice when my Mom was so bad... Kidneys shut down, did we want to start dialysis? Unconscious, the heart/valve surgery caused her to have a stroke, which took away everything... Pacemaker they put in her could keep her HEART going, but that was all....
So we all thought.... "No, we can't do this to her"... Not anymore.... she has gone through so much... And they moved her to a private room... It was so hard... watching all this. I know some of you know this... but this is our life.... there are just things we can do to make our life here a little easier, and then there is a time to let go.
So me and my Brother and Dad....were with her that last night... So were their friends... the Preacher and his wife.... and we sang to her, and just talked to her like she was "there." We got to share our favorite memories .... I hope she knew we were there...... it was soooooo sad to walk away that night.... but she left us early the next morning.
And it is for our family that we take care of things now.... And that is why we have directives, and our Living Will in place.
You know, i don't MEAN to be all serious and like I know what I am talking about, but sometimes maybe I do! It's because I am "living longer"..... Not growing old.... Hah!

Good morning ladies.
SAS - dinner sounds delicious. So jealous indeed
2nd - looks like your still at your dads. Hoping you are having a gear visit and keeping his friends laughing. They are not trying to hook up with you , are they ?
Blondie - did I see you got your cast off ? Are you home now ? If not, what's the plan ? After like 14 days here I am going crazy. How do you handle the complete boredom ? Thinking of you
Mammaray - you shoveled 3 driveways? Wow. You either have a lot of cars or possibly the best neighbor ever ? I agree bring on the sunshine. Enough already with doom and gloom. I am ready for spring to bring new life to everything.
Beachbum, kjones, Susan, hi1, smarty, Chevy and everyone else I missed - thanks for the support
I haven't seen cami post in awhile , did I just miss her post ?
I am waiting to get abcess drained. Hope they get me in early. Finally I am hungry after 2 weeks and now can't eat Til after. Weird how my brain works. Just because they say I can't now I want to. Also found out they will put drain tubes in for a few days. I hate drain tubes ! Never had then in my back. That sounds uncomfortable. I remember after my bilateral mastectomy and again for reconstruction I had them but they wre I. The front. Oh well. I'll deal with it. It could always be worse. My ds's missed a whole week of school two weeks ago due to ice - never been out that long - now they are talking about more ice accumulation wed. Boo I prefer snow but generally we get ice which causes power outages and major tree cleanup.
Today I am singing Elton Johns. I am still standing.
Hootie hoo all

Got the housework for today done and so I'm just sitting back.
The car is acting up again. Looks like the problem we had fixed last month is rearing its ugly head again. Don't think it was fixed right the first time or it wouldn't be doing this again. If the dealership did fix it and it has to be done again, we are not shelling out the money for it. Its under warranty, so they can eat the cost of the repair!

Hi everyone, I have been gone for awhile and got a nice note from Sas today. Things have been pretty busy, the good news is that I added melatonin to my Trazadone and have been sleeping so much better, anyone tried this, hope it helps some of you. Bad news joint pain from Arimedex is pretty rough, seeing my doc on Thurs. How are all of you ladies, doing well, I hope. Stephanie

Hi Tang, I know how you feel. It is most likely scar tissue, so try not to panic, but make sure they do whatever needs doing, to be 100% sure. Do not let them assume anything. Wishing you well and praying all is good. Stephanie

Thanks for commenting that to Tang 333rd! And glad you can sleep better! I don't know a THING about those problems....
Hey Tang! You doing okay?
Mom2! Geez! What did they say was wrong with your car, that still is? Yes..... Take it back, and get a little heated with them, and tell them it was not fixed right the first time! At my age, I would do it.... but not when I was younger.....
Hang in there Peppermint! Let us know.... okay?

Hey ladies....so I called in to the doctor this morning, got in to see BS. She sent me for U/S and the tech said it looks like fat necrosis. Radiologist said it needs to be biopsied and we did it right there on the spot. Radiologist said it doesn't look overly suspicious but the only way to know for sure is biopsy. I'm still feeling dread though. Should have results by WED.
Whats going on with patty? I'm so behind, sorry to not say hi to everyone.

They told us the last time it was the throttle body that had gone bad. They supposedly replaced that. But hubby noticed that if you shut off a certain switch, the error that has cropped up again goes away. Hoping that if its something else, that the repair isn't going to be that bad. If its the throttle body again, we don't have to pay, because its under warranty. Believe me, I was ready to call the dealership and rip them to shreds over this! The car is only 4 years old!

Oh man, I hate those things that show up, and I can't figure them out! So much technology and not enough brains to figure it all out! Take it in.... Let THEM figure it out.... I'm lucky I can get IN my car, and LOCK it with that little thing! AND open the trunk with that "little thing".... I know now, that if I push that thing twice, it opens ALL the doors! One step at a time.... So far I know how to roll the windows down, and can get them up.... ON MY COMMAND! I am a wizard.
Oh.... I make those scarves? And I found a good use for one.... And I cut down those looooong stem flowers, and made a what-cha-ma-callit for the lamp"!
Yes it's "girlie" but that's okay....

Chevy - super cute and crafty! I love it!
MammaRay - I love to decorate cakes, but I'm not great at it. I need to practice more to get the little details right. But that is a true talent. I wish you were closer we could decorate cakes with your talent, and I could show you how to sew and make jewelry. I collect beach glass on the beaches and make jewelry with it. Wire wrapping is pretty easy, lots of books available. Let me know if you want to try and I will mail you some beach glass to try it!! When are you coming to Cleveland?
If anyone wants beach glass for jewelry making, please let me know. I have been collecting for years. I will send it!!

Holee crap! I am 2,588,327 pages behind. ....or maybe 150 pages.
I started my 3rd week of rads today. At least I think it's the 3rd week but you can see by my page count that I might be off a few....or a million.Tomorrow is Zometa, RO and rads. After that I'm thinking that I might head over to the rodeo and grab a couple of those cowboys. There are a lot hanging around and they come with their own ropes! To lasso them, I mean. This is at the Houston rodeo, of course.

OK I'm on page 731, catching up again.
Oh ladies I love music, all kinds of it--but being honest Opera is not one I love, I appreciate it--my dad loved it and would song along, but had a terrible voice so maybe that's why??? Years ago I dated a man (for 8 Yrs.) OK we lived together anyway he was a total music lover and he also played classical piano so every Sunday he would play all my requests while I relaxed (and the kids played) and I enjoyed that so much and I also like to hear the songs of the 30's and 40's and he'd just play them too--It was fun for me, probably a PITA for him. Those were the days I could control things in my life. LOL
Duct tape hysterical, my BIL is known for that and one yr on his BD my nephew made him a great wallet out of it and it was very usable and sharp.

skimmed a bit but way behind. Patty p....soooooooo happy they found the problem..hi to everyone else. In my prayers always.
Was in Michigan visiting daughter, then came home to take hubby into hospital. Had back surgery. Came home yesterday. Very successful . I am very very lucky to being doing so well on the chemo I am on now. Have no prob taking care of house, hubby and working. Last chemo I couldn't climb the stairs without taking a break. It's bazzar how different they can be.
It's 15 years for me this month on cancer meds. Boy how time flies .
Be well everyone

I admit defeat----I saw Chevy's pic and u never stop creating things and pretty soon u'r be out in the garden making things happen. And I suppose the chicken thing will start all over again--Oh chit again, every year we have to hear this, well at least we're here to hear it.
Oh Phliocrap--I was so glad to see u'r name on here, I miss u, well we all do--I still don't understand all u'r going thru but I want u to be well and be with those cowboys A LOT--u deserve to if that's what u want. U sound good but then again u always sound good so we really don't know--u'r like aa spy type of person, moving from place to place so no one can follow where u really are. Hmmm interesting thought. That's why u like the cowboys, they can tie u up Ohh I get it. OK shhhh Phylo007 has to lay low or at least under.
MommaRay u can decorate cakes? That's a talent right there--I can do nothing at all. tried some things but no interest or talent so be proud of what u can do--I know so many of the women here have so much talent or knowledge of things it amazes me to read all they do, and according to Chevy I can't even type--OK OK I can't
I had a couple of D. app't and tests so got that over with and I have some sort of infection and low levels, nothing new. So up some meds and another new one. But I did tell the Dr. how tired I am and unfortunately I used the wrong word, Yes Chevy I said I thought I had necrophilia, by the time she lifted her head up off the computer and stopped LOLing she forgot the right name, as soon as I said it I knew but the right word just didn't come to me--Oh wait Chevy will have to look this up Miss never let a pole go empty.
I remember a while back when I'd wake up usually at 2am I'd come on her and talk to Sas and a couple of Aussie girls Chrissy and Alyson now this thread is booming all day and night. And if someone new is here and I didn't welcome u I'm sorry , but u found a great group and this will keep u busy and u'r mind off of some things and it's so helpful.
Don't forget we change the clock this weekend and now we can see it snowing later than usual. More snow is coming in tomorrow and slushy stuff and then cold and then warm up and cold again--But as I said we can watch it longer at night now.
I do hope all of u are feeling decent and taking care of u'rself.

Phyllis, Good to hear from you! We went to the rodeo when we lived there and it was a lot of fun. I wouldn't do it on a bet because it's so dangerous. I do enjoy watching tho.
DH gets on a music kick and plans it incessantly. Then after a few years, he switches to some other kind. I mostly tune it out automatically. I'm the artist in a musical family. No sense of rhythm at all.

Phylo!!!!! Good to see you again!!! Don't be any stranger than Cami!!!
Both of you should be here more often
0 -
Yay back to Chevy and Cami bantering back and forth. Cami you are so right this thread keeps your mind off of things. Like achy joints..
Patty - yay for some specific actions to rid you of this infection and misery. OY! I feel for you.. hate the big D, antibiotics, yeast infections and being in the hospital. You are so brave to have a cheerful spirit after all of that! I am impressed by your fortitude, you are a Strong Southern Woman! I shall rename you Patty the Strong Southern Woman (not PTSD from cancerland but PSSW!)
I forget who mentioned they found a weird lump. I had one on my scar and my PCP biopsied it and it came back scar tissue.. that was years ago. So better to send it off then to worry.
Frankly I think anyone who can live through this winter needs a metal. My SIL sent me a picture of their back yard in PA... snow drifts.

For a lousy $89.00, a guy in Boston will send you a cooler full of snow. Then I saw that 47 of 48 continuous states had snow on the ground. Guess who DIDNT!hehehe

Glad you had the biopsy so quickly Tang. Hoping the best for you. Stephanie

camlilegal - who doesn't love Duck Tape?? Avon, Ohio is the world headquarters for Duck Brand tape. Every year they have a huge parade and festival with all things duck tape. The parade floats are made from the tape, and they also sponsor a college scholarship for students that make their prom dresses and tux from the tape. It is amazing what the students can do to win the top prizes. They also sponsor a contest in September to design the next new design for tape. The prize is a cool 5 g's! It is all good fun! Google it the next time you can't sleep.
