Did 30 mins on treadmill and even ran a few minutes 3 times. Now to shower and find something to wear to a wedding this afternoon. Later will be more housecleaning as really hoping to get this place back on the market in the next few days.

    Ruth, yea for walking outside!

Patoo, good job on the jogging. That's all I can do too, but it's something!

LARock, you are so inspiring. :)

I'm meeting a friend later to walk while our DD's are at ballet. It's gorgeous and sunny here today.

Ah Spring! 43 degrees and sunny! Woo-hoo. Walked 30minutes around the lake and dog walk of 15. I hope the fresh air and movement will get me back to well. I feel about 70 percent normal today. All the joggers were out today so I felt my exercise paled in comparison but then I remembered I didn't see them when the windchill was -2!

hi ladies, been off line this week, didn't do much of anything due to that stupid cold.  Just sapped my energy.  Cheryl, you were right about it lasting 3 weeks but finally feeling myself again.  It's gorgeous today, 44 and sunny with a bright blue sky.  Walked OUTSIDE this afternoon!

Mary, so sorry about your FIL. Got goosebumps when you said how he went gently after your MIL said it's OK to go.  The same thing happened to mom when dad passed.  The hospice nurse said he waited for her.  They had been together almost 60 years.

Happy belated Birthday, Ruth!  ♥ to all

Rowing machine this morning, did about 6K. Then spent two hour working on a boat cushion that I am making for a friend. Lots of bending and stretching, up and down, here and there with the patterns and fabric on the floor. Must count for something!

    Spring is coming ladies!

Well, our basketball team won (by 3 points after being behind most of the game) and is going to the State Tournament. Pretty exciting!

Was a long day yesterday. Had the exams today and to be honest, I don't think I did that well at all on the 2 written exams yet did pass the practical assessment. The assessment includes a training program (spelled programme) that I devised for my client (the client is another student and I'm her client) that you run through using a mixture free weights, resistance machines and body weight and 3 cardio machines with 2 assessors marking you, listening and making notes, almost an hour total. I'll find out in a couple of weeks what the results of the written are as they are sent off to be marked and feel a resit is in my future. Wish I felt more confident for all the studying, rather than flat and insecure.

In an hour, off to early yoga with son. Our clocks don't change to BST until March 29th. so enjoy your extra hour.

Hopefully you did better than you think Lilac; if not, you will know what to study on for next time.

An hour of spot toning with Denise Austin & 20 minutes on the treadmill.

Lilac, I hope you did better than you think! Sometimes we read too much into it. Good for you for trying! Can you retake it if you don't pass?

Did 6k on my rowing machine this morning. I was a bit upset after a conversation with DH so I rowed extra hard. He has been so good to me through this whole journey but we both are struggling with the permanency of the body changes. I chose BMX with no reconstruction, and he agreed, but now that we are out of treatment the reality of living a flat-chested life is hard for both of us. Certainly a topic for another forum. But the good news is that I rowed like heck this morning!

Back to work tomorrow, my evening supervisor is in the hospital so I have to deal with staffing issues. Hope everyone has a good week!

LB hope it's just your nerves talking and so what if you have to resit you'll be twice as prepared. Congratulations to your team Ruth. Mary so glad your DH is getting to spend time with his Mom. LARock we have our pool steps blocked as the dog goes in for a drink and then drips water throughout the house, drives me crazy.

I have had one heck of a week, re injured my toe on Friday, my laptop crashed, got a CD stuck in the changer on my car then the air conditioning went out in my car andyesterday my fridge died Bawling.

Yesterday went to Body Combat and today did Body Pump, my young Vietnamese friend taught his very first class today so had to go and support him, he did so well he was born to be a fitness instructor

Thirty minute walk today plus running up and down the stairs doing laundry and other cleaning. Getting all of the bedding washed on the sanitize cycle as I don't want that germ reinfecting anyone. Got the kitchen sanitized and the bathroom sinks, but ran out of paper towels to finish the bathrooms! Feel the need to clean!

Lilac I also hope you did better than you think. If not, surely the second time you'll conquer it. How exciting!

Congrats to your team, Ruth. Sounds like that means more travel to see the games!

Rhody if I was up and down making a boat cushion my thighs would tell me I had a workout. I'm always surprise when I weed that bending over multiple times truly is a workout.

Another nice day and another walk outdoors.  Supposed to be in the 50's here later this week but I'll be in Milwaukee on business.  Hoping the lake effect doesn't keep it too cool there!  ♥ to all

2/8- lots of yard work today, but still made it to the gym for 45 minutes of weights and 20 laps in the pool. I noticed I am doing my laps faster now too!

LA Rock- how cute your golden is going in the pool. My sister has a golden (now 5 years old) and she had a big fear of getting into the pool when she was a puppy, so we spent some time on that when I first met her (5 months old). Now she gets in and out with ease or just jumps in. They so love the water!

Hey y'all!!!! 40 minute walk with a co-worker tonight in wonderfully warm and snow-free Columbia SC! Was told Wednesday I would be spending this week at our software vendor's place testing some new code for a big project. Booked flights, car and hotel on Thursday, spent Wed/Th/Fri nights and all day yesterday running errands (including a much needed haircut and upper lip wax) and catching up on clutter at home, had a banquet an hour away last night and got home at 11pm (which of course in my mind was really midnight due to DST....lol), flew out today at 1:30 and arrived about 5pm.

So, went to the doctor Wednesday for this lingering cough and fatigue. He said I'd given it plenty of time (27 days to be exact), gave me a 10-day antibiotic (levaquin) and ordered a chest Xray because he thought he heard 'a little something' in my lower right lung. After four days on the antibiotic I'm still coughing some but it's much more loose/productive and not nearly the uncontrollable, wet-your-pants kind of cough I've had for the past month Loopy. I'll call in tomorrow or Tuesday to see what the Xray told him.

Also spoke to a friend on the ride to the banquet last night and am about 90% convinced I need to see about a sleep study and possible CPAP machine because I think I have a lot of sleep apnea episodes.

Am meeting said co-worker at 6:30am in the hotel fitness center for 30 minutes (treadmill, elliptical or bike) and our goal is a walk every evening if possible and a workout every morning if possible this week.

I try to read posts as the email notifications pop in but simply have not had time lately to post myself.

Love to all and still looking forward to California Dreamin' 2015!!

Lilac, I too hope you did better than you think! Can't wait to hear the results. So exciting.

    Ruth, congrats to your team.

No formal exercise today. I did get out and took ashort walk, played with the grandkids outside for about 2 hours and finished cleaning and laundry today. It was not my usual sedentary Sunday. So happy about that.

Cheryl: I think you need a (((Hug))). What a week!

Lilac: I'm sure you're anxious to know how you did on your tests.

Rhody: Thinking of you. It's not easy.

Hi Everybody! Yesterday was a pleasant day so I fast walked/jogged at the park. Today was in the 70s. Dh and I spent almost 2 hours picking up sticks, limbs, and twigs in the yard. Lots of squats!

Thank you (((all))) for the the supportive feedback. Pleased that I passed the practical assessment as one of the four of us did not, a man who thought he had it in the bag and therefore did nothing to practice his program and it apparently showed.

Off to the gym in a bit for core and more & freestyle step.

Congrats, LilacBlue! Really impressed. My SIL is taking a Pilates instructor course and from what she tells me, it's pretty tough.

    Cheryl, (((hugs))) from me, too.

Sweet, I think you should go and have it checked out. Oxygen-deprived sleep can't be good for you.

Tried hatha yoga combined with some pilates. Now my abs hurt.

LB - I bet you did a lot better than you think! Our minds may not be quite as receptive to new learning as they were in our 20's, but we have a lot more wisdom and common sense than we did back then, so that's a resource we can draw on during new challenges. I'm so impressed with what you've done.

Sweet - sounds like a crazy week for you! And why not go for a consult about sleep issues? You don't want to mess with that. I've had friends with sleep apnea - one poor fellow had it so bad and his functioning was so impaired that when he was in his mid-50's he was initially dx with early-onset Alzheimers! What a relief for him when he was finally properly dx and the "Alzheimer's" symptoms went away.

Finally got unpacked enough where I felt OK about making time for a run yesterday. It's the first time in ages and my first run at the new place. The warmer weather finally melted the icy patches on the sidewalks - it was wet, but ice-free. The main road of the community is a loop that's exactly 3 miles - perfect for a run. I don't think they're used to seeing runners here - it's a 55+ community, but most residents are in their 70's. During my run I got a few "atta girls" and "I'm impressed" from walkers I passed, plus more than a few open-mouthed stares! HappyDH gets home from California tonight - I'll be glad when he's home so he can take Mikey for his early morning outings - I am NOT a morning person at all!!!!

I know what you mean by this Mary! I live in a similar place, and not that many out walking the nature trails, to say nothing of running them. I am hoping to get a couple of runs in after work this week now that the days are getting longer.

I did two rides this weekend in the sunshine for a total of 45 miles. The first one ended when I followed the "beer this way" sign to a microbrewery just off the trail. Had an IPA and then cycled back. So a shorter, if more fun, ride. The second was around Lake Sammamish. There is a nasty road on the far end, but found a long way around that goes through a couple of parking lots and then through a trail in the woods before connecting with the trail back. So much better than dodging impatient drivers in the really busy stretch of road.

I think I am close to the 27 day mark with my cough, and I think the cycling helped. I was really slow, but didn't mind. I look so much better with sun and air.

Got off the phone with my friend with kidney cancer....she really is at the end now, but calm and I think accepts what is happening to her. Not everything works, and she is OK that she did the clinical trial. I hadn't called because of an email I had received from a mutual friend. Felt terrible, but I thought I was following what I had been told. So I explained things. Feel so much better that I did finally connect. I also sent a card with fun pictures a couple of days ago.

On to fix the email problem with my work computer! Congrats LilacBlue with the demonstration part of the exam. Either way, you have a lot of this behind you. I am convinced that you will get there! Such important work. - Claire

Claire- I am sorry about your friend's kidney cancer and being at the end. I think it was good you had a chance to talk, for both you and her. I wish your friend an easy transition and hugs to you too.

Claire I'm glad you had a nice talk with your friend. Tough thing to face on her side so I'm sure she appreciates you.

Claire, sorry about your friend. Lilac, sending up prayers that the written part will be a win for you as well. Sweet, take care of yourself. We want you 100% in June.

Cheryl, just as you put extra into your exercise routines, you put extra into things breaking down all at once!!! Winking

Exercise today was vacuuming 2 BRs and a hall then shampooing the hall carpet.

Claire, I'm sorry about your friend. I'm glad you were able to connect by phone.

I walked today about 1.2 miles. Yesterday was a migraine day and had less than 1000 steps for the whole day. Ugh.
