Today my livestrong class ended. After 12 weeks of work outs some of us made improvements (not me) we received a certificate of completion and we shared a pot luck meal. I have purchased a family membership at the Y so I plan on continuing exercising. I have access to 4 wellness appointments with the trainers and I can always ask for help in creating a routine. I just hope my hip and leg pain subside, today I've been in screaming pain and did not take any pain killers because I'm getting concerned about my liver but the pain IS there! I am scheduled for a PET scan on the 29th, hopefully the insurance will approve it and will get to the bottom of things pain wise and also the fact that the tumor markers have been on the rise.
Have a good trip and enjoy to those setting out to travel. Hope everyone stays as pain free as possible.

Aurora I'm sorry for your pain. Is there anything else they can give you that will help?
Katcar I have been wondering if you are native to Mexico or an ex-pat. I have these fantasies of moving to a latin american country or a caribbean island.
Have a good vacation Sweet and Meijo.
Walked 32 minutes at lunch today.

Have fun Lisa, Heidi and Meljo!
Oh dear, aurora, hope they can get to the bottom of things. You better take a pain pill, liver or not, because that sounds to horrible. And don't beat yourself up over not making improvements on Livestrong, you had all that stuff with your dad going on & should get a gold star for just plugging away at it during that time!!
Here is my goofy exercise report for the day: I did my morning Cardio Sculpt & then met a good friend for lunch. She lives in a different town and I don't see her that often, so we went to a really nice restaurant and had a 3 1/2 hour lunch with all the trimmings...we are taking about appetizers, soup, entrees AND dessert. Just as I was finishing off a piece of key lime pie, I get a text from another friend, her niece is in the physical education at the college & they were getting this fitness guru in to do this 'Master Class' & her niece invited her & would I like to go too? Since I felt quite guilty about all that food, I said; "Sure". So we show up, are the only people over the age of 22 in the room, and are subjected to an hour of pure TORTURE! It was like those old high impact classes....only worse....we stood in the back, modified, or just watched (like does flinging yourself upside down into a handstand (not against the wall) sound like a really smart thing to do?
......I also went to my zumba class tonight (and was reminded how much I LOVE the classes that I do), so I think I sweated off the lunch and then some.

TwoHobbies and ruthbru thank you for your encouraging words, I took two 50mg tramadol and the pain is better but I am going back to my old routine to keep ahead of the pain. Wow ruth that sounds like a really demanding class, last year when I had my first livestrong class there was a young instructor that kept us in our toes but it sure was hard to keep up, this time around it was more measured and respectful of the participants limits. Feeling a little better now that I took my pills, thank you for hearing me vent.Aurora

ruth - definitely no handstands for me either, with or without the wall! At least there were two of you there to keep each other company!
I heard the voices today...did the treadmill and even did a tiny bit of in incline on it. Decided to give it a shot...will keep doing it at that low level unless it starts to bother my foot. Maybe I will be able to work up to doing more. I really have determined the best time for me to exercise is in the late afternoon after work and before dinner, so that is what I am aiming for.
aurora - glad you are feeling a bit better after taking some meds! Take care

Sweet and Meijo, have relaxing and fun time!
Aurorya, so sorry about your pain. So glad you are feeling better after taking some pain medication. Please take the pain pills to say ahead of the pain and take care.
Ruth, I would have fainted.
35 mins on treadmil and then a nice leisurly walk. Hit 10K+ steps today! Yay! My body is still asking for a good mid-day nap due to the fatigue and I am complying

Cassie hope the migrain has subsided. Auroya I'm glad you got some relief for your pain. Mel glad the voices are coming through loud and clear. Meijo have a wonderful vacation. Ruth the 3-1/2 lunch sounds wonderful, how in the heck did you manage to exercise afterwards, yikes!!! Heidi enjoy the vacation and be careful on the trails and take lots of photos.
Body Jam class tonight

HeidiHill & S&S have fun and Aurora, I too hope the pain gets more under control.
Freestyle step and body balance at the gym this morning.

4/16 exercise was 30 laps in the pool last night. I could not believe how busy the gym was between 9-10 p.m. last night!
Aurora- congrats on finishing the livestrong class, and glad to hear you have joined the Y. The personal trainers can help to create routines for you around and contradictions you may have. The pool can be a very good place for exercise if you have joint problems/pain.
And I am sorry about the "screaming pain." You need some help with this sister, Sending you hugs.

I'm off track a bit this week but did get some walking in yesterday. I have an appt. with my MO and then Herceptin this afternoon, so I'm not sure about C25K today either. I'll get back to it though! Just need to take things day by day.

TwoHobbies - I am an expat in Mexico, going on 11 years! No regrets! If this is your dream--do it now. It was the best decision I ever made.
Aurora - I hope you got in front of the pain and are getting some relief today. I think it's amazing you did the Livestrong class.
Ruthbru - Handstands? Are you serious? hahahah. Could not even do that when I was in my teens--not without assistance anyway.
Cassie - Hope your migraine resolved. I used to have those as a kid--they suck!
Jazzy - 30 laps! I am in awe.
Only did 20 minutes walking today--my hip was bothering me. Will build back my strength in this next week.

I did NOT do the handstands, I stood there with a 'You've got to be f***king kidding me?" look on my face (sorry, but that was the look
). I subbed today, and got 6,500 steps just running from desk to desk helping kids with their assignments. I am going to a Wine & Painting Party tonight (a fund raiser for fitness programs at the YMCA). Since it is nice out, I plan to walk to and from the venue (maybe 3/4 of a mile each way) and call it good.0 -
Ruth: Be careful with the wine or you will end up painting while doing a handstand!

Hi All. Just a quick check in. Walked/ran this afternoon. We have had rain for several days now so I haven't been able to do anything outside until today.
Next week I get to see Badger at a music festival in NC. Can't wait!!!

Sometimes I really want to try to do a handstand or a cartwheel. As kids we used to stand out in the yard and do that all day, so I have the desire but I'm too scared to try! .
I had the "opportunity" to mow my back yard for the first time this year. 32 minutes. I will probably do the front tomorrow since it is nearly as long.

Hi all. Just stopping by quickly as I'm wiped out with allergy meds. Walked a couple days this week but nothing tonight except still packing boxes so at least some movement. Plan on taking a nice walk tomorrow as the weather is beautiful although the pollen will attack me.
Night sculpted friends.

Have a great vacation Sweet and Heidi.
Cassie, migraines suck. Hope you feel better today. I had one yesterday myself so I came home and went to bed early. No exercise for me yesterday.
Funny thing Ruth. We do handstands at bootcamp. Actually they are wall stands and really build arm strength. Something that I clearly need to work on.
Wonderland and Badger, I hope you guys have a great time at the music festival.
Mel, afternoon/early evening is the best workout time for me too.
Went to the gym today after work and jogged on the treadmill for 30 minutes plus did some weights.
Will get out tomorrow to enjoy the great weather. Have a great weekend everyone

hi all, worked at home today so took a long lunch and walked for an hour. Logged 3.7 miles.
SO EXCITED to see you Wonderland! I plan to dance a lot, take a nature walk, and do Sun morning yoga.

So happy for you Badger and Wonderland I know you'll have a great time together. TH isn't it funny the things we did as kids that came so easy, I can remember turning cartwheel after cartwheel now I think I'd break my arm on the the first go round. Ruth post your Owl picture here, it's gorgeous, everyone needs to see how clever you are.
Did Grit Strength tonight and I upped my weights only by 5lbs but I sure felt it and I know I'll feel it tomorrow

Wonderland & Badger......have a great time (which I don't even need to say because I know you will!).
Just because Cheryl asked; here is my friend and I with our pictures . A very fun night, I would highly recommend it if you have the chance!! To think we wasted all those years painting walls & ceilings when we could have been creating masterpieces!

Gonna have a busy morning, I'll get plenty of excercise.

Archery (taster course). Left breast (the 'good' one so far) getting in the way! Came out 2nd out of 7 ladies in the competition
Definitely will look into doing more of that in the future. And we're having lovely weather as well

Ruthbru - The owl paintings are too cute! Looks like you had fun.
Feeling kind of down today. I slept badly. Did a 40 minute walk but I was trudging the whole way--no energy since this cold and my left hip is really hurting (and my mind goes to dark places).
Tomorrow is another day.

ruthbru - beautiful owl picture!
katcar - sorry you didn't sleep well and your hip is hurting - hope you feel better soon
Did the treadmill with the slight incline. Started watching Hawaii 5-O on Netflix while I am walking. Makes the time go by quickly!

I love the owls, Ruth!
Katcar-sorry you are down; I hope your day gets better.
It is sunny and 70 degrees here today. I am enjoying it in the back yard in a lounge chair. I have decided to embrace the fact that my hip is slowing me down and just enjoy the warm sunshine. I hope everyone has a sun filled day!

Spent two hours with other members of my neighborhood association doing an early Earth Day in our neighborhood! Was sun filled and warm at least!

Mowed my front lawn and did some weeding, a little over an hour. We also have a gorgeous spring day, green grass, daffodils, phlox are starting to bloom as well as the magnolia, about 65 degrees and sunny and fresh- not humid at all. After my "workout", I got on my swimsuit and laid on my deck to get some sun and vitamin D. Good for the body, great for the soul. I need to go to the store, but really just want to go back outside.
I love the owl painting, Ruth!
I hope everyone who hurts feels better soon, and I hope you can get your mind out of that dark place, Kat.

Ruth: Love it! Hooty Hoot!
Kat: (((HUG)))
M0m: Sounds like you had a nice productive day.
Ginger: Glad you were able to enjoy being outside today!
Patoo: Hope your allergies get under control soon.
Badger: The countdown is on!
Hi Everybody! Mowed for an hour with dh today (he started earlier than I did which was nice). Very humid so lots of liquid but I can't say it was awesome.

hi all, I spent a good chunk of the morning in the cellar going through boxes to find camping gear. Did some cleaning & reorg while I was at it. Found my old coffee pot (hooray!). Then went to the local hardware store with a list of things I still needed. Gotta love a small town - the owner took my list and walked with me around the store. We found everything and had a nice chat about NC. Got home and couldn't resist the sunshine & breeze any longer so walked to the market for coffee & car snacks. Been getting organized ever since. What to pack... (I hate packing! Love to travel but hate to pack.)
Wonderland, I can't promise to not cry when Lee Ann Womack sings I Hope You Dance. ♥
