    Welcome Trinity,

I'm the baby of the bunch here.... I think!

Anywho....went to the PS for my post-op check-up and everything looks good. She told me that they did a bit of revision on the right one, my "good girl" aka the one where there was no cancer... so its still a bit swollen but both are healing nicely. So unless something starts acting up, I won't see her for a month. She gave me a good sized order for Avon from her and the staff. Not a bad day, getting good news on my healing process and an order for my business.

Had a bad bit of news over the weekend though. An uncle of my hubby's died. Tonight is the wake and tomorrow is the funeral. Even though I do feel up to going and got clearance from the PS, hubby doesn't want to subject me to a long day since I'm still healing from the surgery, so we probably won't go to the wake or the funeral but we are sending a card to his aunt.

Oh sorry Mom2... But glad that surgery is all behind you....! Old Eddie's (our neighbor) funeral is next Wednesday... I know it's respectful and all that, but sometimes a card is just as nice as showing up...

Yep. Plus I won't have to deal with my MIL & FIL, I'd have to hurt myself by "Gibbs-slapping" them. For those that don't get the "Gibbs-slapping" bit, it comes from the show NCIS and happens when Mark Harmon's character smacks someone on the team for saying something stupid or doing something stupid. Happens at least every show!

    here's a link to see what a "Gibbs-slap" is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boY7i11aYRA

Good afternoon, Dutchy prttey impressive wood working project. All the proper tools and a proper work bench.

Mommy, great report on the foobies. Sorry about your UIL. I love Gibbs too. I wish Ziva hadn't left. The new girl is sweet, but she is Ziva or Kate. Gibbs slap, always wondered if anyone tried it in the workplace, using the excuse that Gibbs does it.

Chevy, Eddie's a WW11, Pearl Harbor Vet. WOW.......Not many left.

Computer has to go in for repair back to HP. I will only have Kindle for that time. Kind of scary. I will feel cut off from the world.

I made it home!!  My kidlet drove back with me.  He's cooking right now.  YUM.

I got home and my purple irises are blooming and the yellow ones are about to.  The lilacs are in full bloom also.  I'm SO glad to be home. I was gone 9 months for treatment.

Someone asked me about the type of radiation I got.  I had to look it up to get it right.  The clinical trial uses IMRT:

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT): A type of 3-dimensional conformal radiotherapy that focuses multiple radiation beams directly on the tumor itself. Beam intensities vary, so that the highest possible doses can be used to destroy cancerous tissue. Proper positioning of the patient is crucial to the success of IMRT. Radiation oncologists use special planning software to determine the most accurate treatment.

Ms Spookie, you always took the words from my mouth. I meant my fingers. It's kind of scary.

Phyllis, it must be heaven to be back home. I can't imagine being away from home for 9 months for treatment. Hopefully, now you can rest and let your body heal.

Mommy, great news on your post-op appointment. How is the exchange compared to MX and to TE placement for you

Ms. Chevy, I sent the Know Your State link to my little Sis, who moved to Florida last year, and her response was LOL to the #8 & 16. I guess she relates.

Ms. Sas, hope you get your laptop back soon. Yikes

Morning gals! Hi Loverly..... I was looking on Google snoring, and found this!

I was finally alone with Henry Cavill, and he was confessing his undying love for me... Then my husband started snoring and woke me up.

MammaRay- I would not be comfortable either. I have been very private about my dx. It is a kind thing to have friends want to help us, and your friends are coming from the right place. Hopefully they will respect your wishes and just not do this.

And you are not a bad person either for expression your wishes for what you are comfortable around. They are not the ones with the disease, you are. Hugs sister, I hope every day get a bit better for you.

  • chevy - oh sorry to hear about eddie

hi all.  been taking a little break but missed you guys so hurried right back.  Thanks for all the support ladies while i was out either thru pm, or phone calls.   i love coming here to hear all the exciting things everyone is doing.  it totally takes my mind off my own situation and lets me live vicariously thru yall.  so live it up...and tell all about it.

Patty- good to hear from you! I am not sure you will want to live vicariously through what I have been busy with this week, but here goes.....

I have been busy doing some more paperwork purging from historical files (some over 20 years old) and filled up my dumpster. Creating better space for the things I need to store and getting rid of the old stuff. I started going through all the boxes, piles, containers two weeks ago and have become BFFs with the shredder lady at Staples and also been filling up my city recycling bin a couple times. It has been a total paperwork purge fest! I am grateful to be getting to this after staring at some of these boxes for year/decades and knowing they needed my attention.

My favorite thing I came across is an old Seventeen magazine from August of 1978. That was the summer I was heading off to college and no doubt needed to figure out what the cool fashion was to have in my freshman year! Through the years, I have come to really love the memories of the 1970s. So many fun things during that time that I realize now were just purely good times.

Hoping you are feeling better and glad you popped in to say hi!

MammaRay- you had every right to set the boundaries of how much information you wanted to be out there or not! I'd feel the same way if I were you.

Oh 2ndtime- that's evil hot..104 yikes! Stay in the shade. At least it's a dry heat. I lived in CA in the Central Valley for 12 years. The double digits especially past 110 did me in. I remember having my BIL visit and he complained that our house was 83 degrees and could we get it lower? I had our airconditioner full blast, but it was 118 outside that day! SOL!!! He had come up from San Jose for a few days. I have to laugh because now he lives in Sacramento..ha ha!

Mammaray- I wouldn't be comfortable either. Don't feel too bad. Your friend will understand. Jazzy hope you kept the seventeen magazine for good yucks. Momof 2 glad you got some needed sleep and are healing up. Hi Patty! Send Blondie in for a check in!

Hugs to ya'll. Mags that climbing rose over the arbor was magnificient!

Just put the order in that I got at the PS's office this week. I paid for the order to be shipped to me and then I'll get paid when I give them the order.

Good morning webrats....wait, I mean Ladies!

2nd - it's way too early for 104 degrees or anything within 20 degrees of that.  I left Houston to late spring weather in the mid-80s and made it to Nebraska to mid-70s and spring just starting instead of being over.  I'm glad I got to see both!

In Houston, beautiful azaleas, magnolias, hawthorn, etc.  The only thing I miss a little is all the greenness of the Gulf Coast.

I hope everyone is feeling at least sort of good today.  I'm just running a couple of errands and hanging out with the kidlet.  He made the most delicious spaghetti and meatballs last night. I love that boy!   Well for more than just his cooking skills, of course!

On my lunch break now and just popping in to say hi.

MS. Chevy, funny post! My DH and I both snore when we are exhausted. I think his is worse than mine. I don't do the trumpet snoring( air blowing). Well at least I don't think I do

MammaRay, you shouldn't have to carry the burden of guilt. Sounds like your friend has good intention. But, I do understand where you are coming from. If your friend has pure motives, I am sure she will understand your decision. If she doesn't, then help her understand. Hopefully, your friendship/relationship with her is not affected by misunderstanding. I don't think you are being selfish at all. image
